Shinhwa member Andy has given a ring as a thank-you gift to Solbi, his "wife" on the MBC hit variety show, We're Married.

The sweet "married life" of Andy and Typhoon's Solbi has become a hot topic among viewers and netizens, and their popularity has since skyrocketed as a result of the programme.

A spokesperson from the programme said that Andy was in Shanghai in mid-April for his first solo concert, and he bought Solbi a ring as a gift to thank her. He gave her the present during the most recent filming session." The scene will be shown in an upcoming episode.

However, a spokesperson from Andy's company clarified that "Andy's gift to Solbi is more to thank her for working together with him on the show, there isn't anything else to it."

Andy and Solbi, who plays his make-believe wife on MBC “We Got Married” have taken to showing their affection for each other on radio

Andy was on KBS Radio Cool FM on 30th April and Solbi who was listening to the radio broadcast at that time sent a text message to him. Radio deejay, Maybee saw this and decided to call-out to Solbi suddenly.

Solbi said during the call, “I’m now listening to the show, Andy oppa is beside you right? Please tell Andy oppa that I miss him very much”, not hiding her feelings for him. She also showed her support for Andy’s new song. Andy then greeted Solbi back and they both started chatting happily on the phone.

Listeners felt jealous of them but yet felt that they looked really compatible with each other and will supported Andy and Solbi as a couple.

Andy also introduced his new song “Propose” from his repackaged album and said, “Listeners have expressed their anticipation for this and felt that it would be a success.” Andy continued, “I was kind of worried initially but after hearing their reactions, I was relieved.” He also thanked his fans for their support.

Andy will appear in today’s KBS Music Bank to promote his new song, “Propose” from his repackaged first album and start his promotional activities.

I'm also an AnBi lover myself... I can't wait for Sundays because of this couple... They really have such intense chemistry and i really can see how their relationship is evolving from friendship to something much more special...

I loved it when Andy spoke about how it's not so easy for him to open up his heart to someone and yet he can bare his soul to Solbi so easily... I can also see how relaxed and casual Andy is whenever he's with her and how he's very appreciative of what she does no matter if he does not say it out often...

Solbi's such a good girl too... she must have been misunderstood in the past, but i love how she's so true to herself and her feelings that she can't just help but wear her heart out on her sleeves no matter what other people might say... seeing this, i can tell that she's the kind of person who gives her 101% when she is in a relationship or when she falls in love... It seems like the effort that she's putting in for Andy goes way beyond what the show requires ...

I'm sure deep in Andy's heart, he's very touched by Solbi's gestures and that might be the trigger that might change his mind in the future about considering her for a deeper relationship... (obviously, Solbi is very willing to take the relationship further... hehehe!)

From all the news that has recently been surfacing about this couple, i would not really be surprised if they indeed are already going out offcamera...

ITS SUNDAY!! and ive been waiting all week!! im rather high right now.. and i agree about solbi.. ive seen her on other variety shows in the past like jihwaza.. and its almost like she was acting in those shows.. shes still the quirky girl.. but she just doesnt seem as real.. but i think this show really opened her up and shows how she truly is.. i guess thats why its called reality tv.. lol.. and its definately done wonders to her and andy's popularity..

Solbi would say yes if Andy initiates a relationship

The spotlight fell on Solbi as she expressed her liking for Andy (again).

On the 6th May episode of KBS2 “Sang Sang Plus Season 2″, Shinhwa members Kim Dongwan and Junjin appeared as guests, and mischievously asked MC Solbi, “If Andy initiates a relationship, would you agree?”

Solbi’s answer was a clear “Yes”.

She added, “Andy’s private life needs to be protected”. When asked why she likes Andy, she replied “I like guys with nice butts, Andy has a nice butt.”

When she was asked if she meets up with Andy outside of work, she confessed that “We really don’t. Andy’s actually more of a loner than I imagined.”

[08.05.09][news] Andy: I'm glad that my mom laughs when she sees me and Solbi

Appearing on Choi Hwa Jung's Power Time on SBS Power FM, Shinhwa's Andy talked about his parents, a subject that he rarely discusses.

On the programme, Andy recalled the time when his father was admitted to the emergency room due to a brain haemorrhage. At the moment Andy became the head of the household and the emotional support of the family. He recalled, "The moment when I had to sign on the operation documents was the most difficult time of my life, and I cried."

"My tears wouldn't stop falling, and I didn't know what to do. When my dad regained consciousness, he held my hand and told me "I'm sorry I couldn't do anything for you", after hearing that my heart was in even greater pain."

"Although my dad woke up, but his health is still quite poor. I'm always worried about him. My mom's health isn't good either. She has been telling me recently to get married quickly, and even told me to go for matchmaking sessions. Now I know how badly she wants to see me married."

Andy even added, "When my mom sees me and Solbi on TV as if we're really married, she would laugh, and I'm happy to see that. I think I really do want to get married soon after all."

After the moving confession from Andy, DJ Choi Hwa Jung and singer Kim Hyun Chul all agreed that "Andy is truly a filial son."

Singer Andy will be singing his latest song Propose to Solbi on the 11 May episode on SBS's "Quiz! Sixth Sense Challenge".

Andy and Solbi are currently playing a newlywed couple on MBC's We Got Married.

During the recording for Sixth Sense Challenge, the guests had to choose their partners, and as the male guests were all trying to avoid a guy-guy pairing, MC Lee Kyung Gyu asked Andy, "Will you trust Solbi wholeheartedly?"

Andy's answer? "No, but I'll use my song to express how I feel", and started singing Propose to Solbi.

The guests all laughed and made fun of them, but Solbi's sweet smile and contented expression once again made everyone suspect if they are really an item.

ive been reading the more recent comments on soompi.. and im feeling rather sad.. everything was going fine and suddenly.. its like clouds and rain come in.. i feel all the press about them is finally having its negative effects.. with fans posting to andy to stop talking to solbi and andys latest diary entry.. something about apologising to fans ( i dont know what for). i agree that lately.. his actions have been pretty unusual.. not in a bad way.. but just.. singing propose to solbi both times and buying the ring.. it just isnt the shy, quiet andy we've always known.. so something must have happened to make him pick up his actions.. it could well be his mum telling him that he's cold like his father (andy's parents are divorced) or it could be coz he felt dissapointed in himself when solbi said she was dissapointed in ep9 i think? also, from what ive heard, solbis been rather quiet and not-herself on shows lately.. even in the ones where andy is in.. im rather worried that something might have happened.. or maybe that solbi's friends have convinced her that this relationship isnt worth it..

I came across this thread and because of the recent news I've read about Andy and Solbi I decided to check We Got Married out. I've only watched the first episode though. Is it me or does Solbi grow some flesh? I remember in Suju's mini drama she was still slim.

Anyway, the first episode is cute! I never knew they have such a show in Korea, which is interesting, you know. Most of the time Solbi was like a spoilt wife while Andy tried to treat her well. Hehehe... ja jang myeon in exchange with princess bed! Oh wow! I love to see it when they started testing and provoking each other to make them mad. Hahaha...

yes there has been a lot of news on anbi couple recently.. as one of the most popular onscreen couples at the moment turning into one of the most complicated couples..
my image of solbi has always been one of a healthy happy and bubbly person.. like.. not a stick thin model.. but "normally?" sized.. which is what i like about her.. shes pretty in her own way and i hope she can be an inspiration to young girls that you dont need to look like a skeleton to be pretty.
and haha.. solbi is a very demanding wifey.. i bet andy felt jipped that she only made him noodles.. LOL..

Initially, I just thought Andy and Solbi have chemistry on the show and that they are cute. But anyways, on Anbi, the first few episodes, I honestly don't get any vibe from Andy. He complies with whatever Solbi asks him because a)this is a show and b)he's like that (remember how Andy is the permanent victim of Eric's weird pranks, lol). But I sensed something is a bit different ever since the Shinhwa episodes. They filmed this together with the kimchi making episode, but ever since Shinhwa, Andy just seems...more reciprocative.

And if you notice his interview part, you'd notice how Andy is now often smiling and laughing and just giddy. He used to say stuff like 'I don't know if Solbi is real towards me because she is nice to everybody', but now he just says 'The kiss, I was surprised, but I liked it.' This is A LOT coming from Andy who is so introvert, shy, and quiet. When Shinhwa has interviews, he stands on the far sides because he doesn't want to be asked. When he likes someone, he never expresses it. That's the extent of Andy's loner personality. So for him to go this far is such a big thing.

Photos showing Andy and Solbi kissing each other back appeared on So Yu Jin’s Cyworld yesterday and has become a hot topic among netizens.

So Yu Jin entered the following as the caption, “(We) Got Married” Super Cute Couple Andy-Solbi, took pictures during house-warming party while they were playing around…Kacha…Shy~” Beside the caption, photos of Andy and Solbi kissing each other back on their cheeks were also posted.

Although they are only a make-believe couple due to MBC “We Got Married” but their sweet moments together has been enough to invoke a scandal between them. Netizens said, “I have been been happily watching their sweet moments on the program and it feels really nice”, “I didn’t think initially that they would be compatible but now they are simply a right fit for each other.” On another hand, another group of fans was jealous and also blasted So Yu Jin for taking pictures of the sweet moment between Andy and Solbi and then posting it.

Andy showed his love by singing “Propose” to Solbi during last week Music Core program and they were voted the most popular couple by 489 fans in a poll.

This scene is definitely going to appear in future “We Got Married” episodes.

yeh i read that too.. but ive only seen the video of that once.. and i cant really judge.. as much as i hope its all on andys part.. there is a chance it is scripted.. i couldnt really catch solbis reaction when andy dragged her on stage..
however.. he also did sing part of propose to her on sbs sixth sense the next day and that i dont think was scripted..

yes.. AnBi couple really does remind me of YEH/KJK couple.. even the whole ring giving thing..
and andy was quite introverted and shy in the first few eps.. maybe andys grown more confident and protective of his wifey after introducing her to his mates.. his hyungs obviously support him.. and maybe that gave him the little push to open up a bit more and enjoy himself... i also feel that andy is loosening up a bit.. he used to appear rather stiff during the interviews and the onset screening where all the couples come on.. i guess hes growing more and more comfortable..
as for andy being a loner.. even solbi said that.. lol.

On the 17 May broadcast of KBS2's Star Golden Bell, Andy made a surprising confession, "I have a 90% intention of dating Solbi."

Andy and Solbi are currently playing a newlywed couple on MBC's We Got Married, and are enjoying a great deal of popularity among viewers. In response to Solbi's recent confession on Sang Sang Plus that she'd like to date Andy if possible, Andy also made his feelings clear.

Andy said, "Solbi mentioned on the show that she would agree if I were to initiate a relationship. I do have a 90% intention of dating Solbi."

When asked by the MC if he really meant what he said, Andy replied "I'm still very busy now and I don't have much free time. But after I'm done with the activities for the album, the musical and the movie, and if I have time to get to know Solbi better, we can talk about a relationship."

Appearing on the same episode, Saori was asked if she preferred her own We Got Married partner Jung Hyung Don or Andy. She replied with "I hate Don Don", and chose Andy instead.

Andy/Solbi couple has been chosen as MBC “We Got Married” Best Couple


According to a poll carried out by a wedding information bureau on 489 singles (255 males, 234 females), in the “Ideal Married Couple” category, Andy/Solbi couple was first with 48.9%. Alex/Shin Ae couple was second with 45.6%. Crown J/Seo In Young got 2.9% while Jung Hyung Don/Saori had just 2.7%.

In the same category, females picked Andy/Solbi as their ideal couple with 55.7% of the votes while for males, 50.9% had Alex/Shin Ae as their choice.

For the best husband, Andy was the number one choice with 55.3% votes. The reason was being able to look after people with great care. Alex was second with 34.1%, Crown J had 10.2% while Hyung Don had only 0.4%.

For the worst husband, Jung Hyung Don was the overwhelming choice with 87.1%. Among female voters, 5.5% felt that Alex did too well and makes them feel burdened, having to match up to his standard.

For the best wife, Shin Ae was top with 54.3%. Solbi was second with 30.3%, Saori had 12.8% while Seo In Young had only 2.6%. Reason for Shin Ae’s win was because she had a beautiful appearance and excellent body shape.

Seo In Young was voted as the worst wife to have with 78.2% of the votes, the reason being she has no money sense.

anbis parts always seem too short to me.. apart from the shinhwa ep of course.. but i always feel they cut out too much of their parts.. but i did love watching the other couples.. apart from dondon and saori.. i never liked watching them..
