081231 MBC Gayo Daejun - SHINee - Replay, AMIGO Thanks for posting it up ♥farhanaa! SHINee was so shiny in their attire! They reused their MFMK red-carpet clothes didn't they? That was my first thought when I saw them, especially MinHo's very very golden shiny jacket. I wonder what was the temperature during their performance, being so cold that we could see their icy breaths... Congrats to SHINee on making it through a hectic end-of-year schedule!
Now I really really wish that I could watch the boys volunteering at C-Are-Us's bakery in Taiwan! It would be so funny to watch Key and JongHyun at the counter, speaking in Chinese! And I want to see how shapeless TaeMin's bread was! So I assume that Onew and MinHo arranged the bread display?

This hottie's name is JongHyun aka Bling Bling JongHyun because he wants to shine. He's the lead singer and he has a darn powerful voice. When he performs, he loves to play with his hoodie and his tongue which makes all the fangirls faints and spazzes like crazy. He will be turning 19 this year but he still cries a river of tears when SHINee gets awards.
His name is Key aka Almighty Key because he likes to solve things. His real name is Kim KiBum and he's the umma (mother) of the group because he likes to nag and makes sure that the house is clean and the boys are fine and well. He has a love-hate relationship with horror movies and has a height phobia. A "camera-radar" is built in him and he will always know where is the camera so he is extremely cam-wh*re. (Me thinks that he is extremely sexy!) The triple threat of the group since he can sing, rap, dance and he talks really well too.
Oh my MinHo! His nickname is Flaming Charisma MinHo because..well he's darn charismatic. He's really quiet and loves to read, plays any sports that involves a ball really well. He's the second youngest in the group but he always take care of the other members and TaeMinnie who is the youngest really well. The pillar of strength of Onew, Key and JongHyun when they can't stop crying. The lead rapper of the group.
He is the leader and the second lead singer of the group and his name is Onew. Real name is Lee JinKi but he chose Onew (which means soft in Korean) as his stage name because he's really soft-hearted and his voice is soft and soothing. His mega-watt smile will be sure to blind you! Though he's the leader and oldest, he's the dorkiest and always have Onew condition/sangtae (a term used to describe his lame/stupid/dorky actions/jokes). He was second in his whole school and will be going to uni to learn broadcasting music.
The youngest of the group, TaeMin (I call him TaeMinnie) is the lead dancer. Dancing is his passion and is like breathing/walking to him. He's turning 16 this year (yes, he's darn young) and because he's the youngest, all the other members treat him really well. He will be the last to wake up, JongHyun will cook breakfast for him and Key will iron his school uniform.

Hi Lauren and welcome to SHINee's thread at AF! Take your time to decide who's your fav! I took some time to figure out who I liked the most, and I settled on Onew! Since Clesias has given you a short summary of each member, I'll let you know my impressions of them!

From the oldest to the youngest! Onew The first thing I noticed about him was his bright and sunny smile! He isn't the most handsome or the tallest or the most graceful, but keep watching their live performances and you'll realize that he never fails to smile during every performance (save ShinHwa's Wild Eyes cause they had to look cool). Also, you'll notice something called Onew sangtae AKA Onew condition. It refers to his dorky yet cute moments, e.g. when he trips over his own feet, walks past the stairs without even noticing it, cracks a lame joke which no one else finds funny, etc. However, he gives fans a warm and sincere feeling, being very humble and a down-to-earth leader.
JongHyun No one can miss his powerful vocals, which are easy to recognize in their songs. He might be the shortest but he has a powerful on-stage presence that makes fans focus on him. Plus, he looks the most manly with his prominent cheekbones and jawline. The first member I learnt to recognize was him! One thing to note is that he is completely comfortable with cameras; he doesn't feel shy or awkward and is very natural. Fans also know that he really loves music passionately! You could say that music inspires him, which makes him want to pour out his inspiration back into music.
Key I didn't really notice Key in the beginning, I only knew that he had the best fashion sense and is usually decked out in bright unusual colours that wouldn't match the others! He hardly wears normal colours like black, white or blue. It's more often pink, purple or grass green than not! Key is also the umma of the group, always taking care of them and nagging at them. But he doesn't seem to be prominent because he's good enough to do a little of everything: singing, dancing and rapping! He doesn't specialize and thus lets the other members take the lead in the different talents.
MinHo He is the tallest and the most silent of SHINee. In the beginning many fans didn't like him as he didn't speak much, but he has made his charismatic presence known ever since AMIGO's MV. There's a good closeup of his electrical eyes in the beginning of the MV which drives all the MinHo fans nuts (I even took a screenshot)! He's also extremely good in all sports which involve a ball, which drive the other members oh so jealous! As a model, he definitely has his own charisma which becomes more and more noticeable over time.
TaeMin The most outstanding thing about him used to be his bowl-cut hair. Which many fans have a love-hate relationship with, because he looks really handsome with styled hair! I'm guessing that the bowl-hairstyle was used to define him as the youngest. But now, his dancing skills are garnering more and more attention! He is definitely an encouragement to all teens, proving that age doesn't matter when you have the passion and are willing to put in hard work. Some noonas (like me) find it weird to call him hot or sexy because of his age, but there are times where no one can deny how good he looks!

My classmate started playing their first single Replay in class, after they had debuted. Since she was crazy over all things Korean, I basically heard her gushing and spazzing before the month of May was even out. Since Replay was catchy, we just kept replaying the song (just imagine hearing the song everyday for 4-5 hours)! And when Love Like Oxygen was released, we replayed that song too! That's how I knew about SHINee. And I fell in love with them when Amigo was released! Because I kept watching the MV, trying to figure out who's who!

hello hello!! super duper newbie to them!! and i'm just dropping by....
just wanna say that i'm starting to like them!! ahahahaha
i actually listened to their tracks few months ago but i really didn't pay that much attention to them coz they are too young for me. but i love their song Romantic
and then my friends started discussing about them that i was lured to listen to their songs again. and guess what?!?! lolz i've fallen for their songs. gah!!!! I told them there's this song of them that i like but i can't remember. So i tried to listen again and voila i found it, and told them that the song i like was Romantic. After listening to it, i became hooked on the song. can't believe that yesterday, their song Romantic is on repeat mode!! bwahahahaha....then when my mom heard AMIGO, she started dancing (gosh that was really funny)
coz there are times when there's just that phrase, or word in a song that gets to you right? and it's the "Still I have ROMANTIC in my heart" that really made me stop and listen to it again!! so now it's like my topmost fave song from them. Thanks to that song, i'm now their fan.hahahaha....ok i still don't know who's who but the 3rd one who sang in romantic, the one who sang the whole first stanza and that guy who always sings "still i have romantic in my heart" who are they? are they Onew and Key? and the one who always sings the high notes is he jonghyun? a little help please? thanks

I think the one who sings "still i have romantic in my heart" is Key. JongHyun is the lead singer so he basically sings a lot, including the high notes. If you have seen their performance, you will know why: he has a pretty powerful voice! But I prefer Onew's voice cause it's much more smooth and soothing!
OMO, I finally seen SHINee on YLBFB! And they were to die for! The fans that were there are so lucky! They get to see SHINee so up close, especially those to the side because MinHo were so close to them when he was dancing. Haha...I bet Show and Xiao Gui are just awed by their dancing and especially JongHyun's powerful voice! But MinhHo's winks and cute expressions are just The best part was when they did Show's dance and all of them really know the dance! Haha...MinHo even added his own step!

In My Room is good too!!!! Yes Graze is soothing too!! it's the type of song you would like to listen to when you're at starbucks or something.hahahaha it has that jazzy feel to it....

Yes! Haha...that's what I have been telling anti-SHINee fans cause they think that they are riding on DBSK's popularity but it's not true because SHINee have their own style and songs and each of them can sing and dance. A lot of the best performance are sung live which means they can sing! Albeit, they need to improve but they just started out so they need more time to find their place in the music industry. Sorry for rambling on...'

The reason why Onew sings after Minho in their face-off with FT Island, is because that's not the full version of "Romantic". Sometimes, they don't sing the full song because there's not enough airtime.
I love the songs "Last Gift" and "In My Room"! "In My Room" is the only song where Onew (not JongHyun) sings the first stanza. And I really love his smooth voice! Have you heard "Last Gift"? It's really nice too! I love the part where they sing "I don't know why I can't move on~"!!
♥ clesias: There should be no comparisons between DBSK and SHINee except that they come from the same company. I agree that their styles are really different. Plus, there's no need for DBSK fans to not like SHINee, since DBSK themselves show such affectionate support for their hoobaes... It's not like SHINee keeps singing DBSK's song to get people to notice them or anything.

The name of their fan club is "SHINee World". Haha, "Amigo" is actually a shorter version of "If You Love a Beauty, You Will Suffer" in Korean. So actually the correct way of writing the name of the song is actually "A.Mi.Go" but many fans are lazy so they just type the whole thing into one word.
Cassy and Kat: Yes SHINee is currently staying in a dorm together. If you watch their reality show, you can see the house. Their latest video about them saving energy is shot in their house too! Shucks, I don't think I have a picture of their bunk beds but I really remembering seeing it somewhere! *goes to find in her collection of SHINee pictures*

Sandee and Kat: The name of their reality show is "Yunhanam". It's this show in which they meet noona and at the end, the noonas have to choose their fave member to go on a date! It's just hilarious cause they're really innocent and nervous at first but later you just get to see their cheeky and mischievous side!

katrina-chan: It's just the fact that they always (well, almost always) so colourful! It really seperates them from the other male groups in the industry. It's normal if female groups are really colourful (e.g. SNSD), but male groups usually dress in like black, blue or white. And they always wear stuff that's shiny! LOL! Shiny high-top sneakers, bling bling accessories, sparkling materials, etc.
Clesias: It was so obvious that TaeMin wasn't even sleeping! His eyes were twitching! I think the order of the cups are: MinHo, Key, TaeMin, JongHyun, and Onew. I'm not too sure though, can anyone else verify it?
Sandee: Yup, Y Si Fuera Ella is JongHyun's solo. I hope that another member will get a solo in SHINee's second album... whenever it comes out. Y Si Fuera's title is Spanish because its a cover of a Spanish song.
