SM Entertainment, which has already released some of the popular groups in the Kpop scene like TVXQ, Super Junior and Girls’ Generation, introduces a new male group called “SHINee.” (샤이니) . Pronounced like Shine- Ney, the members are described as a contemporary band, compsing of members whose ages range from 14-18 years old and who go by the names of Jonghyun, Minho, Taemin, Onew and Key.
According to SM Entertainment, SHINee is going to lead this generation’s trendy dance, fashion and music. With regard to its name, the label explains that it is a combination of the word “shine” and “ee,” which is to mean “people receiving the light.” This light, as applied to the group, is the “spotlight” directed toward SHINee, whose goal is to fascinate fans, regardless of their age or where they come from, with its diverse music.

The boys first perfomed on Mnet Popular Song for their debut with the hit song "Noona is so pretty" (Relay)" "누난 너무 예뻐 (Replay)".
Members from the group have also gone on to making a number of guest appearances on radio shows such as KBS's Super Junior Kiss the Radio, a radio show hosted by Super Junior members Leeteuk and Eunhyuk. SHINee visited other radio shows that were hosted by other Super Junior members, such as Shindong's Stop the Boring Time and Sungmin's Reckless Radio, and Kangin's Chin Chin Radio, where they performed a few of their songs. They have also made many appearances on various television shows, including Star King and Star Golden Bell.
SHINee received the "Rookie of the Month" award on Cyworld 9 days after their debut and won the "Hot New Star" award at MNet 20's Choice Award 2008.[citation needed]
SHINee released their full debut album, "SHINee World," on August 28, 2008. The first single released from the album was "산소 같은 너" [Love Like Oxygen], which is a cover of "Show the World" by Martin Hoberg Hedegaard, originally written by the Danish songwriting/production team of Thomas Troelsen, Remee and Lucas Secon. The official music video has been released. On September 18th, 2008, SHINee's "Love Like Oxygen" was the #1 song on M! Countdown. A few days afterwards, SHINee received the mutizen award for "Love Like Oxygen" on SBS Inkigayo. On October 3, 2008, SHINee was awarded the "Asia's Best Newcomer" award at the 5th Asia Song Festival.
SHINee's first reality show, SHINee's YunHaNam (hosted by Mnet), had its first episode broadcasted on August 8, 2008. Each episode is loosely based on the five boys' meeting and date(s) with an older woman (also known as a 'noona'). At the end of each (30 minute) episode, the noona picks one of the boys as her choice for a solo date. The show's final, 12th episode was released on October 16, 2008.
AMIGO Repackage Album

At the Asia Song Festival, SHINee member Key informed fans that SHINee would be releasing a repackaged album, which will include the new songs, "아.미.고" [Amigo], [Forever or Never], and a remix of "사.계.한" [Love Should Go On] from their Mini Album, on the 30th of October. A few whispers circulated that the 5-member group has been shooting a music video with the new song "Amigo." Minho is said to be the main lead of the music video.
The first promotion for SHINee's new song was held on SBS Inkigayo on October 26, 2008. It is a dance hip-hop song with heavy choreography, similar to that of their song from their first album, "The SHINee World." On October 30 2008 SHINee won the New Icon award.
SHINee released their third official music video for their new song, 아.미.고 (Ah.Mi.Go)[The title is a shortened version of "If you love a beauty, you shall suffer."], on November 3rd, 2008.

Ahh, I got so excited when I saw one of the members, Jonghyun, had the same bday as me. xD Two years older though. Ah, well. Their teaser gave me a good first impression; the style is a lot different from DBSK and Suju's. Don't get me wrong, I love love SJ. Hopefully they'll do well.

Since they know chinese im thinking that after Korea Album comes Chinese album They all look the same to me cept for TaeMin and JongHyun they just stands out but year all the same... i know thier names though so thats a start. But once they get into that teaser vid they all look alike they even have the same hair stye.. at least change some things
anyhow in the suju movie: Towards the end when Donghae oppa becomes a flower boy and startes walking around the school all glowing he has some boy students behind him. On the left side, at first u will see Henry Lau Gege (SJM) and then he leaves and Key comes in to take his spot. Neither are credited cuz they are extras but people just have good eyes

They seem quiet good, by the looks of the teaser, kinda reminds me of the Big Bang boys. although these guys have a different edge compared to BB, But I like them, love the song though. even though it's only like 30 secs......hehehe. the dance is nice, very cool. Can't wait to see the whole MV, looks pretty nice. although the clothing is a bit......out there......but i guess it's the concept. nice though. looking forward to the debut...... ^^

Omgosh u have so much free time Nad i didnt even bother looking at them in the ending dance thing.. I saw him when he was walking behind Lee Dong Hae with Henry Lau and thats it. Someone told me to look and i did.. but now look at that. Watch it turns out that all of them have been in the SJ movie they have so many trainees in there that wouldnt be a shock.

Serious i know there are more words in the korean name dictionary than Kim Ki Bum. No wonder Key changed his name.. if he didnt then people would have started getting in confused that the other band member trying to leave his group I used to think that Key was the magnae in there cuz taemin looked older than 14 but wow i was wrong.

Thier both from SM so if he used that name and started singing people specificaly are gonna come in and compliment someone else Now that i see him actually trying to separate from all those Kim Ki Bums im slightly letting him move away from my annoyed side i wonder what he does in the group. he looks like a vocalist but he could rap.. we never know. but i think Onyoo looks like the rapper.
taemin does look older.. maybe its becase of that thing that happened to him that i told u while he was a trainee *coughcough* thats why its better to leave kids' faces along. I wanan see him dance too... he doesnt loook like the dancer type, mainly cuz he looks like Heechul oppa;s mini me but still he could show up and impress everyone later on.

by the way, i've started the individual threads for taemin, jonghyun and min ho already. someone can start the remaining 2(: they're still under construction though. will edit the topic starts when they debut and more info/pictures are out.
THE FULL MV IS OUT!!!!!! watch it here. OMG i seriously love their dance. They're so graceful, it's not like those kind of dances where you'll go "they're so hot". they must have practised alot, they got lots of whole-body dance moves. when they sang "Replay" thrice and the guys take turns to go up and down, i love that moment, the dance's cool. anyway, who's the one wearing a cap? is that leader sshi? lots of difficult dances moves there, and now definitely no one will say they're the next dbsk or shinwa or whatever cause it's solely THEIR own style of dancing. really AWESOME GRACEFULNESS (got to repeat that again><) seems like taemin's the lead dancer although he's the youngest. he's in the middle dancing his own solo for quite a few times. the part where they move the pelvics up is LOVESSSS. i took screenshots of them but they're kind of blur><

nadine missed out on my reply? you can recognise the boys already? that's incredible cause the photos are so small i can hardly even see their faces. so the preview of their MV is called "noona is so pretty"? that's quite weird eh i took a look at the preview and the style doesn't really seem to suit the title or maybe it's just me. from the MV, i'm guessing that jonghyun oppa's the lead singer? who's the person in the middle when they dance? the individual talents of the boys have not been stated yet right. jonghyun's vocals give me a dreamy feel, i got a shock when i heard his voice it doesn't seem to suit the manly 1st impression image he portrays. and zzzomg key's real name is KIM KIBUM!!! no wonder they changed his name to key. oh yea you got the mp3 of their song? the new MV that was released.

I've become a new fangirl of this band ever since I heard their debut song. Not to mention all their prettiness SM usually produces. I think they have the potential to go big! I just hope fans get over the comparison thing they always do. Sheehs >___>

Hahaha! their MV is so cool! Kind of hard to tell them apart now since they're really new, but i'm getting the hang of it. their style is really different from others ne? i love the europeanish clothing<333 and their bowl haircut is uhh, something new. cute i say :X

They do have good voices but they remind me of thr backstreet boys for some reason maybe cuz of the genre? who knows. Anyhow.. does taemin not sing? he just basically stands there and sing the choruss while looking good. i hate his mushroom look though Jonghyun oppa is the lead vocal. u can just tell by watching.
BTW i will be putting up the Mini album in the download section if anyonw is intereted.

HI YOUNG BOYS! All getting younger and younger and all of them are younger than me. Oh and I saw HEENIM-LOOK-ALIKE (Taemin). Their song 'Noona is Pretty' really attract me and I'm amazed by their dance and I loved the ending part of their song at 03.10min, was really a nice song.

I don't find them half bad. Jonghyuns actually kinda hot. Theres the whole "OHMYGOD YOU COPY BIGBANG BOOHOO" issue but screw it- EVERYONE is copying bigbang nowadays. Seen the abundance of plaid scarves? Anything with a slight hiphop beat and its Bigbang. 누난 너무 예뻐 is an okay song. But NUNA. Sweetheart, again with the nuna card? I'm NOT a nuna fan (Well, except in Taemin's case) at least not yet. I'll have to check them out further before deciding whether to fall for another SM trap.

o-m-g, im having a hard time recognising them.LOL. but the only one i recognise now is jonghyun and that's it. i like his voice though. LOL. i mean, this song is catchy, i dont know whether i like them or not, but this kind of thing grows, as for now, i dont dislike him, but i kinda like their songs. they're genre is like kinda big-bangish but less of hip-hop i think, somewhr in between? i mean, they just debuted. im going to stalk them for awhile and see how it goes, for now,i like their dance and voices. LOL.

nikki (hae) a new 5 member group that leads this generation's trendy dance, fashion and music. sounds familiar? i just saw the preview of the MV and i must say their dance style is really cool, although it wasn't quite synchronised properly. Afterall, they're still new and once again, young. members of new bands nowadays are getting relatively younger just like the ft boys, soon you'll see boys below the age of 10. according to the western calendar, key is the only one who's younger than me^^ oh yea, i did hear about key last year when suju released the pin up boys movie but didn't really take any interest cause i didn't even know who he was. the only person i can probably recognise is jonghyun oppa. his features are really different from the others! judging from the photos in your topic start, i got to say minho oppa leaves me with the best impression ahaha. the boys love skinny jeans, no? are skinny jeans the latest trend? lots of guys in my school taper their uniform pants and they're so freaking skinny. the boys here, are unbelievably thin, teuk oppa got some competition over here when it comes to the measurement of their waists. do you think the boys will be guest on SUKIRA after they debut?

acoh yea! that's why i can only recognise taemin, jonghyun and minho, but not key and onyoo. wah so you recognise them by their fringe? maybe their designer did that on purpose. same, they look older than their age, only minho looks young to me. yea their dancing is awesome. their body is super flexible.
jiaqian jonghyun was the first person i noticed cause he's the lead vocal, and his features are rather different from the rest! really, i didn't actually think they copied bigbang, their dancing style is rather different. they do those graceful kind of dancing with their whole body, something you don't see bigbang doing. but well they're supposed to lead the new generation so i guess their clothing might be kind of similar.

nadine this thread moves quite fast eh? my bad but you sounded like you don't really like them. yea when the group dance together, i'm just looking at taemin that's how much he stands out, always in the middle dancing. the youngest too, so many talents in koreah eh. my favourites are going to be jonghyun and minho oppas what about you? althought it's still quite early but they attract me the most so far haha. do you know when their next performance will be? oh their mnet performance is out on youtube already! but it's a fancam i must go find the HQ one or do you have your hands on them already? wahh you got the whole album too? gosh PM me their songs! yea the lyrics just keep repeating in the song noona you are so pretty. but then that's why they keep singing 'replay' right.

in their 2nd song 'in my room', taemin and minho don't sing at all!>< key's rap in 'real' reminded me of lee min woo's 'M' style. there's also alot of falsetto used in their songs, and their song styles are kind of weird, indescribable.
rm_c213 normally they would put the leader in the middle right? or the oldest. which is onew. but this time i think they put taemin in the middle cause he's the lead dancer and always in the middle. unlike dbsk, they have fixed positions but when they dance yunho or junsu usually take the middle spot.

even for shinee i admit they caught my attention and i admit i am impress with their skills but for me they still have a long way to go

and is it me or do they remind you of Big Bang? like theyre the SM version of Big Bang . i mean the clothes the song . theyre like Big Bang sort of . i dont know . but thats just me :] and they are really talented ! i was watching their debut performance . they are good dancers.
and someone told me somewhere that JongHyun was the one who was meant to be in Super Junior but Ryeowook replaced him. Is that true?

I think they will be a famous KPop bands like their sunbae in SM Dong Bang Shin Ki, Cheon Sang Ji Hee The Grace, Super Junior, and So Nyeo Shi Dae. And I also hear (from AF too) there will be a girlband called TOUCH. 7 member. Include Stella Kim (SiWon's ex GF) will debuting in June. Is they will be Shinee's girl's version.
