Wow, so he gave up a role in Burning Flame III? I guess if he can have the chance to be a main lead rather than just part of the main cast in BFIII, then why not ? It would be refreshing to see him in a bad guy role.

I really hope this series will help Steven's challenge to get the best male actor award by playing a character he would not normally play.

didn't steven win the award years ago when he was in the ancient one? i think he's more suitable for ancient rather than modern, that's his biggest challenge into winning the best lead. some people just act better in ancient series =)

Wow Steven didn't film "Burning Flames III" to film this series. Also, Steven playing a villian role, I have never seen Steven playing a villian role before. This might be pretty interesting. Also, I wonder who are going to be the male leads???? Bernice?? Charmaine?? Leila?? Linda?? Tavia?? or maybe even Niki??? Hmmm...quite exciting of not kowing who the female leads are.

Yes Steven only won the best male character for Safe Guards. But he has not won for Best Male Actor yet, which is considered to be the biggest award to be the big brother in TVB.

WOW this is great news because I really liked watching Steven and Bernice in Steps as a couple. I can't believe that On Boy will be working with Fat Boss again.

Is Bernice confirmed for this series true?????? I hope it is!! I would really like to see Bernice and Steven together again. Let's see this would be Bernice and Steven's third collboartion then. There first series was "The Brink of Law" and then "Steps." I really can't wait to see them in this series. But Steven is playing a villain in this series. Will Bernice be a police officer that falls in love with Steven. Pretty interesting. My mind is flowing with possibilities now.

I'm rooting for Bernice to be confirmed in this new series as well Their chemistry in Steps is just so unforgettable!

Is this it for Steven? Bernice or Linda? It seems like he's paired with these 2 ladies or no one else. I'm surprised TVB let him off the hook for Buring Flames III.

It would be so good if Bernice is in this series and act as a police officer. I find Bernice can do pretty good police roles. I mean she's played two already, once in "Love Bond" and the other in "The Brink of Law." I haven't heard of the rumor of Linda replacing Bernice, but I have never seen Linda act in police roles before, so I don't know if she can be a good one. I'm still hoping that Bernice can be paired up with Steven again though. It would be Bernice and Steven's third collaboration then including this series and now thinking about it if Steven and Linda films this series togehter, it woud also be their third collaboration, wouldn't it? ("Virtues of Harmony II" and "A Journey Called Life") But I still really hope Bernice will be in this series with Steven though.

In both Steps and The Brink of Law, Steven and Bernice had great chemistry and interesting love story. I also like Linda and Steven but I like Steven with Bernice more.

I hope Steven don't die in this serie cruz in most serie the villian usually have bad ending..

I'm just wondering what kind of storyline will flow out involving Steven the villain, Linda the tomboyish dog trainer and Kent? I think Kent will be like Linda's mentor, someone who teaches her who to train dogs and Steven, I hope he will be those kind of cold police officer who doesn't care about anybody except his own results. That will be so cool! I want more information about the series!

LOL. I have never seen Steven act as the villain of a series, so this will be fun I guess... I really can't see Steven be a villain though. I only see him play innocent roles, but that's just me.

Maggie Shiu told her fans that she will take part in new tvb series w/ other actors Ken Cheng, Stephen Ma, Linda Chung. I guess she meant this series. Not sure yet about her role.

In news yesterday, Linda Chung said she would start filming for new series Aug 15th. I guess she referred to this series.

I quite like the cast in this series. should be rather interesting to watch stevinda collaborate again!

Steven Ma will portray an rude and perverted character in “Dogs On The Beat”

Steven Ma, Linda Chung, Kent Cheng, Maggie Siu and Koni Lui etc attended the costume fitting for TVB's new series “Dogs On The Beat” (好狗出更). Steven Ma will portray someone from a (Weitau) Walled village and had his hair curled especially for the role. But the producer didn't think it was curly enough and requested him to curl it a second time. Steven personally thinks his current look makes him look awful.

Steven says that his role of a (Weitau) walled village guy will be very rude, perverted, not only enjoys looking at porn magazines but also big chested girls. Steven has always played roles that are very polite or well educated, therefore this role will be a new breakthrough. He feel's it will be very difficult but he believes that he will be able to portray the role well. In the storyline, Steven and Linda will play a bickering couple. Steven's character is very rude and will often tease Linda's body. (Saying she doesn't have a good figure). The reporter jokes that he is fighting Raymond Lam over Linda. Steven laughs "She hasn't given me a free album, but I know that she gave one to Raymond. But that's okay, I will buy one myself and will queue up to get her autograph." Walled Village people like to wear gold and silver that's why Steven will be sponsored for the gold jewellery in the series.

Linda Chung will play a tomboy character and wore tomboyish clothing for the costume fitting yesterday. But after episode 10 of the series she will resume to the beautiful girl look. Asked whether she was worried her tomboyish look would not be accepted by her fan's? She says she is not afraid because she can show the audience a different side of her.

Koni Lui will use sex appeal and her role will be quite mysterious. She will play a secret lover of a married wealthy businessman. But in real life she has never been pursued by a married man before. If she knew the man had a wife she would avoid any contact. Asked whether her rumoured boyfriend Dickson has a wife? She laughs and say's no.

TVB new series "Dogs on the Beat" had their costume fitting yesterday. Steven Ma and Linda Chung were playing around with the wigs. Steven had curly hair for the first time and Linda put on a wig to pretend to be an ugly girl.

Steven revealed "I have never permed my hair curly. I dare not look in the mirror. My role as a foul mouth pervert always make fun of Linda's figure." This is the second time Steven worked with Linda. It seemed he has pinched her from Raymond's. "I am angry with Linda, she gave her first record to Raymond. I have to buy one for myself. I even have to queue up to get an autograph from her."

Speaking about Linda having to tighten up her chest for the role, Linda responded " I am old enough, I don't think there will be any problem later on. If that happens, I'll get some sponsors to pay for my breast enlargement."

Too many Linda Chung movies already. .wonder if people will get sick of her..she's in almost every other new movie...What happened to the 'big sisters' like Chairmaine, Gigi, Mellisa, etc?

TVB has been using this "throw this actress/actor to the viewer, let them over-dosed by her/his" tactic since long... time ago. Don't worry, u will get over it. In another 2 years, it will be another actor/actress.

The already-on-track "big sister" have the luxury to choose character or series they want to get involve in. The newbies have to swallow all the series assigned to them.

I was so hoping to see Steven as a cool villain in a smart uniform but what came out instead, a pervert in flip-flops, with permed hair to boot! Holy moly, macroni and Toledo! I was beyond shocked. Did Steven really give up his role in BF3 for this? No way, more likely he was booted out for Kevin. Somehow, he must have gotten on the wrong side of the power that be, and this is the consequence.

There, Steven shared his feelings about his first time permed hairdo, and his first time ever wearing flip-flops. Said he couldn't bear to look in the mirror. But he would have to bear it and accept his new look. Also mentioned that his toes hurt from wearing the flip-flops. Poor Steven!

TVB new series, Dogs on the beat《好狗出更, held its blessing ceremony yesterday. Attendees included Kent Cheng, Steven Ma, Linda Chung and Maggie Sui. Kent Cheng generously bought an extra roasted pig to share with the whole crew.

Yesterday, Ma Zai had on a pair of flip-flops and sported a head of tight curls. He revealed that his character is a rural Hakka man. At present, he is attending classes to learn the Hakka dialect, which he said was not easy at all, because of its various pinyin. Throughout the whole series, Ma Zai will speak with improper pronunciation and accent. But what bugged him the most was his head of tight curls, being that this was his first time ever having his hair permed. The script not only requires him to speak crudely, but also to indulge in telling dirty jokes, which in real life, he seldom does. Perhaps in his previous series, his characters are usually refined, so this time around, he can really let loose.

In the past, Ma Zai and Linda have collaborated several times, recently Linda‘s acting was highly criticized. Is he worried that they might not have chemistry in the series? He rejoined: “No, I’ve enjoyed watching Moonlight Resonance. Linda has continuously improved. Maybe in this series, her relationship story with Bosco is more on the subdued side, but that doesn’t mean she hasn’t improved.”


Yesterday, Linda had on a wig and wore spectacles, looking much like a tomboy. She revealed that she would have to bind up her breasts, and wear juvenile bras. This is a dark humor series; finally she does not need to cry anymore. As to the recent bombardment on her acting, Linda disclosed that Ma Zai has text messaged her with words of comfort; that she cannot hope to please everyone, so don’t take the critiques too much to heart. She disclosed that she was indeed unhappy over the criticisms; after all, she did put in a lot of efforts into it. But at the same time, these criticisms will act as a motivator for her to diligently hone her acting skill, hopefully, it will improve. She added all those past crying scenes had affected her hormones, so she is glad that this series is a comedy.

I think Linda is much more relaxed pairing up with Steven in that she can now concentrate in her acting without having to deal with incessant rumors and being constantly under media scrutiny over her love life (if any) with Raymond or other younger actors.

Well this is really an interesting series to see since its first time seeing Steven with this kind of character. Although, I would rather see him in BF3 than this one.
