i agree the fact that kate can be cute sometimes, and not sometimes. it really depends on her make-up, the light one doesn't fit her.

I have to admit when it was the evening for the Miss HK and then she was performing and all she was kinda pretty but then maybe i didn't get a close look of her. but then afterwards, she seriously became ugly. but i guess ther must be at least ONE good reason y she won first place in Miss HK.

sounds like you didn't watch the competition finals. then obviously you won't get it..
judging is not only based on looks.. she was the standout of the night, was articulate, confident and performed well.

yea agree that she did well on the final but honestly, she doesn't have the Miss Hong Kong look and sorry to say but she is getting less prettier now. Normally I see all the Miss HK winners getting prettier and prettier after the pageant.

Kate can look all right at times, but i just think she isn't one of the MissHK who will make it big like Charmaine. Idunno... she is talented but too thin. I mean she had like a 23 inch waistline already and she's going under the slimming process thing to make it 22. That's just stupid. If you don't believe me you can watch previous media shows. Really, when she won Ms HK, I found her looks to be okay, but now watching her host E-Buzz, OMG, she is so ugly!! Yeah, maybe she has not as much makeup as the others, but still, she look horrible!!!

When I was in HK, I always rooted for Kate because not only did she have a clean pretty look that we could build on, she also was smart, talented and spoke many languages. As well she was well skilled in dancing so that would be her talent. I got the impression that she knew how to hold herself in the public and had a lot of confidence.
She could be sexy and cute! How great is taht? I know that she will go far if she continues filming.

I saw her in When Rules turn loose with Sammul and Myolie. She held her stature fine there and was great though I would also think that her skin is not so great there and she was not as slim.

She wil be in another series where she is alongside Shirley, Bosco and Sammul. Shirley plays a mute violinist. That should be reallly intersteing.

wow I just saw her in her second series to be aired- Feminine Desperado- she has one cool scene in the series and its really nice to see her try to be the rebellious sister

she's a much better actress than most other miss hks. the best thing about her is that she's pretty, nice, sends messages to her fan site kate-tsui.com, so we actually know how she's doing, and also, she can act. tvb is promoting alot, she's been in when rules turn loose, la femme desperado, the series with bosco, sammul and shirley, currently filming to break through motion, and is going 2 be in Academy 2. Ron's also complemented on her acting, and she's way more succesful than Mandy!

Kate Tsui not Worry about Joey Yung Stealing Limelight in "Academy 2"



Kate Tsui will be playing a cadet in the new series "Cadets on the Beat" (Academy 2) and in order to tie in with her character, she is required to cut her hair short. Kate went for the chop yesterday and she seemed rather nervous as she entered the salon. To meet the strict regulations of the police training school, she has had to go very short and asked if she was happy with her new style, she replied: "I am happy, it feels really light. It has been over ten years since I had it this short and the last time was because the stylist accidentally took too much off."

Talking of Joey Yung appearing in this series, is Kate worried that her limelight will be stolen? She says: "Not at all, having more faces in the cast is helpful to the series and will attract more viewers."

Apparently the premiere for EYE IN THE SKY has been postponed til November. i haven't even been able to get a hold of the trailer.

well, her other movie is coming out. i don't think her role nearly as big in this one though.

Kate Tsui was filming yesterday for "Cadets on the Beat" in a scene where she had to chase her mother played by Lo Koon Lan down the street. The story tells of how they are almost knocked over but her cousin Ron Ng rescues her at the last moment. Unfortunately, just as they shot this scene, the heavens opened and the rain stopped the filming, so the scene will need to be re-shot. In the show, Kate has a secret crush on Ron and she laughs: "I don't get him though because he really just treats me like a cousin, so there is nothing I can do. For the show, I have had to cut my hair short and I have been doing a lot of sport, so I am very toned." She also reveals that when she entered Miss Hong Kong, she had already worked with Ron because Ron was the guest performer and he had accompanied her onto the stage. Ron says: "I didn't know if I had to pick her up, but I wasn't afraid of not being able to lift her because I had eaten breakfast and when I was a dancer, I was always the 'base' and was trained to pick up the girls. I have a nickname called 'King of Bases' and I am used to lifting and holding people."

Sonija Kwok was also filming yesterday for "Cadets" back at TVB City and she revealed that she had wanted to become a police officer when she was small and when she was a flight attendant, she had decided to apply to become an officer, but when it came to handing in her application, the female police officer suggested she should enter Miss Hong Kong. Later, on the day of the interview, she was due to fly and had to give up on the idea. Thinking back to winning Miss Hong Kong, Sonija is grateful to the suggestion she received from the police officer, if not then she may not have the success she does today.
