Storyline of Tao Hua Mei Mei:
Tian Zhong Tao Hua is a girl who is good in piano. She's the youngest in the "Tian Zhong" family, and also the only girl. Later, she fell in love with a guy from "Duo Mo High" called Shi Lang. Regarding's Tao Hua's first love, the 4 Tian Zhong brothers were strongly against it. They also did all means to stop them from falling in love with one another. Tao Hua's 5th brother - Yu Yi, was being asked to spy on Tao Hua in school. Hence, he was forced not to take up and examinaion, and being transfered to "Duo Mo High".
Shi Lang's childhood friend - Tong Zi, planned to snatch Shi Lang away from Tao Hua.The leader of 鍚堟皵閬 (?) (probably a club/society in the school), Chang Shan YeYue liked Tao Hua at first sight, and also decided to woo her.
After being through lots of obstacles, Tong Zi & Yue decided to give up. Then [dono who - probably is the brother, didn't want to surrender so easily] hence gave 4 conditions to approve their [Shi Lang's & Tao Hua's] relationship. Despite that every condition is going to be a difficult task for her [Tao Hua], for the sake to be with Shi Lang, she is willing to give in her best to fufill them.
The original title of the manga is Momoka Taifuun!! (yup, with the exclamation points). There is very little information about this manga in English... aside from what's already available here at AF, that is wink.gif The manga was first serialized in Flower Comics from 1987-1989; the name of the mangaka (as I said before, it's the same mangaka who wrote the manga for Romantic Princess) is 藤田和子 Kazuko Fujita.
Now, onto the title of the drama. Personally, I think the "best" English translation is probably TaoHua's Love Conquers All.
Why? Because it's quite similar in Chinese construction to the English "transplant/translation" 真愛無敵 Zhen Ai Wu Di or True Love Conquers All. 無敵 Wu Di, taken by itself, means... literally, without enemy, without opposition... or, more poetically, "invincible." 桃花 TaoHua is the name of the main character... literally, "Peach Blossom."
Interestingly, 桃花 Tao Hua is also very commonly used to describe the relationship between a man and a woman-- in more ancient times, it was mainly used when describing a man who had won the affection of a woman; if used to describe women, it had more of a negative connotation... mainly used when a woman who was married or about to be married still had other "suitors." Now, though, it's used interchangeably for men and women and is mostly innocent (although the married-but-with-suitors thing still persists)... if I say, "That guy has tao hua!" it merely means that someone of the opposite sex likes him. "She has tao hua yun!" means that "she is lucky in love."
So the title of this drama can take on an extra dimension when viewed in this light... But I wouldn't read too much into it... it's a nice dimension, but it might be unintentional... or just an "added bonus." After all, Momoka is Japanese for peach blossom, too... and I'm not sure that they ever used "momoka" in the same way as the Chinese (to describe relationships, that is).

This show is really, really confirmed? As in, the casts is really confirmed? D: I hope its true though. GuiLun AGAIN <33 & not to forget, Ah Ben <33. Arron's the lead, right? Because seriously, I can't see any chemistry between AhBen & Gui Gui. :l . Well at least for now. Maybe after I see this show then I might love the pairing, that is if they really end up together in the supposed show.
I wonder who else is gonna be in this show. And wonder what's the real story plot.

OMG ! .. yes!! GuiLun are acting together again .. i'm so so so happy, well i kind of assume it was arron as the male lead since it can't imagine Ah Ben getting the lead over arron. Ah ben i think looks quite cute with Gui Gui, they both have that cute young face. I am sooo happy that GUiLun are collaborating again .. hope this is confirmed oh wait didn't Gui get her hair cut? since she looks so young now i wonder how she would look with arron? apprantly in this drama the guy chases after the girl .. (according frm the manga) soo we'll so arron chasing after Gui Gui !

Lol nothing is officially confirmed until we see an official poster or press conference, I guess. But I guess it's about time a thread was created for this, so we can stop discussing about it in the GuiLun thread. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for another GuiLun collaboration! <3 And yeah, GuiGui and Arron should be the main leads again.. that's the reason why they are having them collab. again in the first place-- they make such a cute couple.
glued-- In your starting post, can you include the parts from the article that mention this new series? Like just take the small paragraph and quote it and translate/summarize it.
yay another guilun drama. I guess they are a good pairing to work with, huh? (hey aren't these their 2nd starring roles (other than BSM) and it's the same coupling as 1st starring roles?) but now ah ben. yep, looks like there will be some twists already, to PLM, with guigui's hair and the new genre of drama. (i'm assuming it isn't mystery, the manga doesn' sound too much like a detective.)

Yeah, I feel the same. That's why I was hesitant to start a thread about this, because that would get even more people's hopes up over something that's not yet fully confirmed. But well. yay! i hope it's really confirmed. i wonder what made the producers want to cast guigui and aaron again as the main leads. i'm also very exited that ah ben will be in the drama as well. on the other hand, i think the drama would get a lot more interesting if they put wang zi in the drama too!
there are several problems with this drama tho: -fahrenheit is supposed to go on their half-year tour to promote their album in the last half of 2008, so how is aaron going to film the drama? -guigui is supposed to act in the BBT and HSM movie because she wasn't included in the BBT and HSM drama. -ah ben is supposed to act in the BBT and HSM drama, so how is he going to film both dramas? he'll probably have to keep filming MFBBT too so how does his schedule work out?
anyway, i'm looking forward to this drama and i really hope that it will receive support from lots and lots of fans.

^Yup, in the GuiLun thread we were also discussing about some issues with timing. Discussions about this new supposed series start from this post on. I was thinking to move some of those posts over here, but I think it's better to just leave them where they are.
Mostly I'm worried about how Arron has FRH things to keep him busy in the 2nd half of '08. GuiGui being in that other movie isn't officially confirmed anyway. But so I really don't know how they would film. But why would GTV release news of this series so soon anyway, if it's not at least 80% confirmed? :S

oh yess. I forgot that Ah Ben is part of that new BBT & HSHMM drama. Anyway, something struck me. When they said they'll start filming in Mid-June right, did they like say the year? I'm totally lost. Because I've read all the posts you guys posted and I'm wondering when they say ' Mid-June ' they meant Mid June next year? Because I dropped by some forums last night and some of them said it's kind of impossible for the 3 of them to film this drama this June. So they were saying it's next year blahblahblah. :l
LOL. I guess Samatha's right. Let's just wait for more news. >.< Because before the official poster is released, I'm still having a slight doubt about this series.

I'm pretty positive they mean this year. Because they just refer to it as June.. if it is actually for next year, they would say it is for next year. You know what I mean? xD Plus, why would they announce it so soon, right?

Hmm .. brothers are you sure? .. maybe they have a brother sister relationship but aren't actually brother's and sisters because as farhana said so i thought Ah ben was supposed to try and pursue Gui Gui too? Wow 5 brothers is alot that means 6 male leads .. they might use some BBT boys, since they are using Ah Ben.. I hope George Hu could act in it, he was really cute in romantic princess and i think he would be a really good big brother to gui gui too.. since their faces are a little bit chubby too.

i don't really want to get my hopes too high for this drama. the cast isn't really confirmed eh. but from the plot that farhaana posted, it might seem cool. whoa love battle eh. nice story plot, but sort of typical idol drama. but then again, better than nothing. im just hoping for a confirmed cast or sth so i won't get my hopes up too high. and like farhaana, i want arron to concentrate on their concerts and singing. afterall, singing is his passion, it's super obvious, not acting. gah. i need someone to step up and say sth so that i can put my mind at rest!

Yeah, I think they're just her "brothers," not blood-related ones. That would be weird if they were. xD The thing is, I think Arron will be the first male lead and then Ah Ben the second, and the rest will just be supporting characters. I doubt they would have so many leading males.. it would be unnecessary (in terms of what we know about the plot so far). Seems like the story will just focus on Arron-GuiGui-AhBen, you know?
I wish for the cast to be confirmmmmedd. They're supposedly going to begin filming in mid-June, so we really should be hearing news of it soon!
OH btw, no other BBT boys, please. AhBen is good. Besides, this is a GTV production and not V-channel, so I doubt they would use so many artistes from another channel? That's just what I think. *shrugs*

The story plot sounds awesome, if what farhana posted is the real plot. (: Yup. I think what they mean by brothers is not those blood-related ones. Maybe Gui Gui & the 5 boys live on the same house & grew close till they treat each other as real siblings. When they say Prince Charming, they don't mean it literally, right? I can't really imagine Arron being all prince-y like. ROFL. I hope it won't be those type where later Arron & Gui Gui get together but the 5 brothers will try all means to separate them. I'm gonna suffer from heart problem if that happens. I totally HATE it when there's always an obstacle stopping a couple from being together. :l
And YUP. I don't want any BBT members involved in this series. Ah Ben is good enough. Though I do love Ao Quan & all, well, I don't want the BBT vs Fahrenheit kind of war to happen again.

wow really interesting i can't wait for pi li mit to come out and now they already have another drama!! whoo- hoo lol, but even though i find guilun to be extremely cute together no offense, but i have like a really bleh feeling about this? don't know why, but either ways i still support if it's going to happen want to see more chemistry from the two! =)
If this movie start filming in june then won't that interfere with Ah Ben's other movie too? or are they already finish filming, i don't think it would be that quick right?

Ooooh! That makes a lot of sense! So we totally misinterpreted that little chunk of the article then. Hm, so the 2nd male lead won't be fighting over the female lead? That'll be interesting then. And it'd be interesting to see Arron in that kind of role.

Jia Yuan You're posting! I agree with you. It's better not to have any other BBT members involved. It will only invite another war between the 2 groups. Remember the times when we first heard GuiLun is collaborating? There are some BBT fans who really were against the pairing that in the end, both groups bashed each other, yet AGAIN. I'm curious about that too. I mean, Mid-June is coming but absolutely no other info about this series at all.

Yeah, no news. Any news saying that whoever or whoever is "in the middle of filming Tao Hua Ai Wu Di" is false, I think. It said that in the Jerry Huang article & the recent GuiGui/HSHMM article (posted in the GuiLun thread). o_O But there hasn't even been a press conference yet.

i think this drama is true..... someone in woo.com.tw said that she saw in a show about news something...they introduce dramas such as Hot Shot,Rolling Love,etc...Then at last they show Tao Hua Ai Wu Di,they also show the poster for every show,there is a poster for this drama with Gui Gui and A Ben,but she didn't see clearly the face pf the male lead don't know wether it's true or not

^ We're sure this drama is true, just not sure of the leads. I guess that news was the same news that GTV released then, about all of their upcoming dramas in the future. But really?! A poster? But like, if there was a poster, I'm sure someone would find a way to upload it to the internet by now.
Edit: I've just checked Baidu and the people there are also wondering why there is like ZIP news out about this. They are guessing that maybe GTV hasn't exactly decided on the rest of the cast yet.

Well with Pi Li MIT, no one knew exactly who the female lead was going to be until the official poster came out. And up until the press conference, all the articles related to Pi Li MIT only stated that the first male lead would be Arron.. didn't reveal anything about the rest of the cast. So it's possible that that's the case for THAWD too. (Omg.. that's so funny. THAWD?? xD)
The person was introducing all the upcoming shows and there's Tao Hua Ai Wu Di, with Arron, GuiGui and i believe Ah Ben too in the poster. =D Should be confirmed but when is the press conference x.x

WOOHOO! i think i have a feeling what the english title for this manga is: ME AND MY BROTHERS. i am not exactly sure if i am right, but judging from the plot, it seems like it might be... so happy and excited to hear that they will all be collaborating again so soon too!! wahhahaa, can't wait to hear more news about it!

lil_anj0ol-- Sorry you feel that way. With all honesty, no one can really do anything about it. GTV puts them together.. but it doesn't seem like it's impossible for BeBu to have a collaboration in the future. Keep being optimistic about it.
Seems like the cast is officially confirmed to be Arron, GuiGui, and AhBen now. But what is GuiGui going to do with her short hair? I hope people from Baidu can get their hands on the poster somehow, so we can get a closer look at it. Don't think it's been released to the public yet.
And I think the three of them took the pics at different times, and GTV just edited them together. Either that or like, Arron and GuiGui already knew they would be collaborating again, even when they didn't finish filming Pi Li MIT yet. GuiGui's wearing the same thing she wore in this Pi Li MIT BTS video. Arron is wearing the same thing too, just different pants. How strange.
Btw they had some false info in that vid. They said it was GuiGui's first leading role or something (forgot..). They totally forgot about Pi Li MIT.

seems that their chemistry were great enough , so they will be paired again in their next drama ...yeah , but I have to see Pi Li mit first to decide if they are good or not

YES!!!!!!!! finally.....hahahhaha some ppl might be sick of this pairing but im still giddy about them lol to me they seems so sweet together that i cant get enough of them finally some confirmation ^^

Yay its confirmed this time! Yea they gave false info saying its GuiGui's first female lead role. I wish there will be more news on the storyline though. I also really want to see how GuiGui's hair look after its styled.

according to woo.com.tw, the press confrence will be held on 17th of june... i can't wait fo their drama!!!!arron even change his hairstyle for this drama
