What's so great about the book?
I finally got around to reading it after a lot of recommendations, and what I have to say is the Meyer's writing style isn't really to my liking. However, I did like the the overall plot. It's just that her writing didn't really impress me...
Well that's just what I think. So far, the movie trailer looks excellent

Nothing to complain about the movie except that I kind of hoped somebody else was going to play Edward other than Robert Pattinson. But after seeing trailers, I'm quite impressed.

Looking foward to the upcoming movie!

I was in doubt as well when Robert was chosen. But seeing all the trailers and stuff. I got to say that Robert does a good Edward, simply beautiful and Godlike (this is how Stephenie made Bella explained Edward LOL). I have done book 2 (New Moon).
And I have no idea why I can't find a way to like Bella's character, seriously. I like her at first that she seems ignorant and different than her friends. But when she got together with Edward, I got bored with their romance. Too whiny, needly and exaggerating. And it really cheers me up when they broke up in beginning of book 2. I even like it better when Bella is with Jacob. Maybe it's her personality when she is with Edward which is totally the contradiction of my personality that got me dislike her.
Her whole idea of choosing to die rather than without Edward is killing me! Too pathetic to live on. I can't stand those kinds of thinking. And a lot more distraction when she thought of Edward.
But I continue reading because I simply love the Cullens (esp. Alice) and I'm always excited when it comes to Alice's part or when the Cullens are together, and also their fighting scenes. Or when Alice is arguing with Jacob (the idea of Vampire VS Werewolves is pretty cool to me).
I also think that Kristen Stewart is a not bad choice for Bella. Bella is supposed to be not the pretty type of girl and Kristen's average face does a good Bella

Okay, this is a young adult series so you can somewhat excuse the bad writing...but only to a certain point. I could not stop cringing through most of it (Especially when she describes Edward's effect on Bella).
It is pretty bad. And the plot just kept deteriorating with each book.
Another negative point is that I dislike both of the main characters. Bella is too desperate and stupid. Edward is pretty much the same. I didn't find them to be even a bit realistic.
Jacob is the only saving grace and not by much. The plot could have been taken to a great place but it wasn't.

I did enjoy reading the books but don't understand why everyone seems to love them so much, the series is overrated. The Cullen family is quite likable. Bella is probably my least favourite character in the books - she's too weak and pathetic especially when Edward left her. She also hurt Jacob a lot with their ambiguous relationship, she "needs" Edward but wanted Jacob as well. The vampire romance is an interesting concept and the books could have been made better.
As for the movie, I was disappointed by the choice of actors to play Edward and Bella. Personally, I don't think Robert Pattinson is as good-looking as Edward (he's quite ugly in my opinion), and I thought Bella was supposed to look kinda fragile but Kristen Stewart looks quite tough. Hopefully, the two of them will make up for this with their acting.

I think these are quite possibly the best fanfictions I have ever read.
Yes, you read right. I refer to this series (Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse) as fanfictions. Why do I say that? Stephanie Meyer is an extremely amateurish author. She has no spark, she has no depth, and she has no detail. Any depth and detail and "symbolism" that you may see is either stuff conjured up by devoted fans (which, like fangirls, see things that aren't really there and implicit meaning that weren't meant to be implied) and/or rudimentary stuff that even a 12-year old girl fanfic author can use. I'm serious. Just replace the names "Bella" and "Edward" with your OTP (one true pair), and you have a brilliant AU (alternate universe) fanfiction..!
Doubtlessly though, her books are addicting. I couldn't stop reading them (all) until I finished. I'm serious. Seriously. I'm sitting there going, "They're horrible. They suck. They're horrible. I hate Bella. I love Edward. Edward could do so much better than Bella. Bella is weak and deserves to die..." and then continue on in this train of thought for virtually the entire book until its conclusion.
I have a much more in-depth and critical review at my blog:
http://nanshi.wordpress.com/2008/05/31/twilight-series/As for the movie? I believe that the movie has the potential to be better than the book. Why? Because the actors and actresses can actually breathe some life and personality into these one-dimensional characters. The plot is simplistic enough that you can't really mess it up. IN FACT, the book itself is probably a decent screenplay. You can cut out about 200pages of unnecessary filler that just includes Bella/Edward's gushing towards one another...
but hey, for all the crap I give "Twilight," I'm going to be reading the 4th book. Like I said, the series is mindless, brainless, inerrantly frustrating, but oh-so-addicting.

Wow , such profound responses .
Anyway, I've only read the first book of the Twilight series , and I enjoyed it, but unlike a lot of people who I talked to, it definitely was not my favourite book.
The movie trailer was.. alrgiht, but like many others, I'm not really fond of the actor that's portraying Edward. Now, when I read the other books, I'll always have his face stuck in my head, and he doesn't exactly have a gorgeous face either. In Twilight, Edward's described as this guy who is inhumanely beautiful, and Pattinson is far from that.

The Twilight series wasn't bad. I loved the first book, but the books after weren't so great. Bella was a great character in the beginning, but she got so annoying and desperate ever since she got together with Edward.
I see this book being compared to Harry Potter a lot, but imo, JK Rowling's writing surpasses Stephenie Meyer's. All the books tied in with one another and was very organized, but with the Twilight series, it seemed as if Meyer was just adding things randomly in there which dragged at some bits.
I think a lot of girls like the Twilight series more because of Edward Cullen.

i love twilight seires so much.
but new moon and eclipse didn't satisfied me.....the stories are amazing, but yeah... i hate bella,in the first book she is okay, but on the 2nd and3rd book she is damn annoying!!!she is so pathetic,i actually don't like Jacob tooo,he is irritating with the stalking, forcing and all that....it's still bella's fault, she loves edward but she doesn;t want to let jacob go//
when i read it, i always want to say something like "bella just go with jacob or die" "i want edward to be with other better girls", i love alice very much, she is cute with jasper

I think the plot of the series is really good, but the whole story isn't all that realistic, mainly because of Bella. Really, she started getting really annoying after Edward left her, I know that it might hurt her deeply, but truly, I think she could have gotten over that feeling and gone on. She is a person that is just too desperate in some cases. Really. But overall this book is a pretty addicting series, but it is nowhere as good as the Harry Potter series.

A friend of mine convinced me to read the book since its quite popular and she loved the love scenes...

it was ok. I liked the sweet scenes between Edward and Bella. Its like your normal teenage love story that makes you feel lighthearted after reading. nothing deeper than that. Stephanie Meyer can't write fantasy. You can't even compare her to the other fantasy writers that are published. The series was way elementary school level. And you wouldn't even read it again...
I can't take it that Bella readily accepted Edward as a vampire and Jacob as a werewolf and the fantasy story. That was stupid. No one who was raised normally would ever think that you go to school with a vampire. Even Harry Potter did not believe he was a wizard that easily. That part of the book really turned me off.. I just like how Edward is really deeply, madly in love with Bella, the little girl in me loves that. Other than that, i would not even read the book twice.
The writing isn't even good. It was like reading the Sweet Valley series... If you want a good, simple, fantasy fiction, i would still suggest
Christopher Pike despite his books being really really in the nineties... And you can't compare this series to Harry Potter. Doing so would create grave insult to the magical world that J. K. Rowling has created.

I only read this book cuz my sister said everyone was recommending it and saying that its a great book. I thought Stephanie Meyer's writing was a little strange to my liking. I think cuz she wrote it in a way for everyone to read like an easy read tat's why I wasn't that impressed by it. I wouldn't say that this was one of my best book since the style of writing didn't suit me. But the storyline was really good, her development of Edward was nicely done. I was somewhat convinced about Bella but not fascinated by her. I thought Meyer's description of Edward really pulled through in Robert Pattinson. I imagined Edward to be something like what Robert portrayed Edward from wat I saw of the trailer.

I for one, has read too many historic romance and romance stories to be actually in awe of the writing, or even the plot, but I have to admit, its how Edward is mindlessly, hopelessly devoted to Bella, that captivated me thorough and through for the series. Frankly, I'm on Team Edward, and I love the arrogant, stuck up, proud, inhumanely gorgeous and seriously romantic vampire...
But I hate Bella.
I hate how she wants the vampire, and wants Jacob at the same time. I hate how she pits Jacob against Edward, and how she makes Edward feels so torn when its so obvious Edward devotes himself to Bella wholeheartedly. I just hate how Bella makes Edward so phathetic, when he's the vampire in the story. And how it goes on and on about Bella needing Ed to live, but can't bear to lose Jacob at the same time, just shows how greedy she can get. >.<
But I'll still read the fourth book, and I can't wait for the movie. The plot is getting old, what with Edward saving Bella each time, their squabbles about Bella being a vampire and Edward refusing, as well as the Jacob angle, but all in all the series is addicting, that can't be denied. It probably won't leave a big impact on me though.

First of all, i have to say that I HATE the promotional banner SO MUCH!!! when I FIRST saw it, I thought it was a fake and that the REAL one would come out later, but when i realized that THIS was it. I was reallly
about it!
I guess the reason is because I really thought it was going to be a simple banner like this one: But honestly the REAL one showed a really BAD angle of Robert's face (cause he's usually a lot more cute than that
) and I DISLIKE how their faces have SO MANY airbrushes?? & glow on them that it's SO UNNATURAL. AND on top of that, her hand's color is completely different from her face!!!!
like seriously, if I wasn't such a HUGE Twilight's fan, I would NOT go watch this movie because of the banner cause it just looks reallly kiddish and unprofessional. but then again, the PHOTOGRAPHER who took this picture was a kid, so yeah...
but hheeee. sorry I guess this was just my OCD coming out! x)
As for the actors, I still DON'T like Kristen Stewart being Bella! XD idk. I guess I really don't see a Bella in her, but idk. i guess I'll just have to wait for the movie to actually come out to see!! ><; I like Robert playing Edward but I really DISLIKE that guy playing Jacob!! TT____TT I still wanted Steven Strait to play Jacob!
lol oh welll, I doubt this film will disappoint though!
Anyways, now to the book---OMGOSH. I LOVE Twilight so much!
hhhee it's such a good book, especially if you don't want to think that hard and just read for fun! ^^ And besides, I want a guy like Edward nowwwww!!
Gosh, Bella is SO lucky cause seriously Edward is so dedicated to her and loves her with all his heart, er....hehe he doesn't reallly have one, but you know what I mean.
Overall, the storyline is pretty simple & kinda cliché but oh well. i def. enjoy reading all 3 books and I'm really looking forward to the 4th book, hhee only 19 more days to gooo!! <3333

oh, the writing is absolute sh*t, the plot is typical fairytale romance book and probably full of nonsense but hey, it's a teens book. It's definitely a guilty pleasure, an absolute fantasy for people to just kick back and relax and escape from reality...since it's far from reality.
I mean, an average girl with very little good qualities has this hot "sparkling" vampire fall in love with her. And a lot of girls do love those juliet romeo type romances =/.
I have also fallen to the trap I'm sad to say lol, I'm waiting for all the books to be out though...or maybe I'll read them online. I think she's making enough money.

... Everyone's telling me 'Read Twilight! Read Twilight!' I just read the summary of the book and I already hated it. Maybe fantasy's not my genre or maybe I just don't like that style of writing after skimming the first book. But I just hated it. I don't find anything good about Twilight at all! Just about everyone I know is crazy about that book and loves it to death, but I just can't stand it! Falling in love with vampries? What??? I read romance novels but seriously, what is this?? And now they're making a movie out of it too? Oh god, just what I need. More obsessed people about it...

I have to agree to those people who said that they did enjoy reading the book. But I guess when you try to analyze it... It's just interesting and nothing more. I think that gave the book its rating. But I also think that it's way too overrated for its story.
I have no grudge to those people who have read or still reading the book because me and my sisters have all read it and as I have mentioned above. We did enjoy it.

Haha... I second the motion! Back then, fantasy was never captured my interest as a reader and as a movie goer, that's why I never tried to watch nor read Harry Potter. But after my friends been talking twilight a lot while we're all together and when my sister asked my parents to buy her all the twilight series, I decided to give a try. I know I might sound like a fan of the book but actually I'm not. I just like it because it was the very first book (fiction) that I have read.
I hated it at first but after I read it, I guess it was just okay.

Okay well, I loved the series a lot.
But Twilight was the BEST. Then you get the second and 3rd and they are okay and everything, but the books just got more and more strange.
THEN the 4th one came out and I read it, throughout the whole book I was like "WTF?!?! what is this?!"
Seriously, it was an okay read, but I didn't like the story. It was too weird. It was like a different book altogether. Not even part of the series it seemed.
As for the movie, I'm pretty excited to see it. I love Robert Pattinson

The girl who plays Bella, is like Jodie Foster kind of actress. So, I don't know we'll see I guess.

i am finished with twilight and honestly, the first book was not that bad. better than what i expected but i dont see the hype in it. I tot it was too mushy already to the extent of making my hair stand sometimes. And i dont like how certain phrases are being used again and again and Edward being emphasised as being God-like throughout the whole book. Plot-wise is alright i guess. It gets a bit boring somewhere in the middle but things pick up towards the end i guess. But i read the synopsis for the second, third and fourth book and i seriously dont like it. Isn't the pace too fast already? I dont think i wil read the rest of the series. perhaps catching the movie is good enough.
One reason i read the book is because of the comparisons made btw harry potter and twilight but honestly, i think harry potter is so much better. no offence to twilight's fans.
The movie trailer looks good. I love Robert Pattinson. He is just perfect for Edward. but Kristen Steward... hmmm. i dont know. i never like Bella so i guess we have to see how it goes.

Personally, i'm a fan of the series but more so because there's going to be a film. The first book - twilight, was without a doubt, the best of the whole series.
I agree with all those out there who say that stephenie meyer's writing skills are not great, in fact there's really nothing captivating or even slightly outstanding in the her style of writing and use of language. She owes her popularity entirely to the plot. but not because the plot is good either, but because it's one that all teenage girls tend to fantasise about. Admit it, we all read the books because it's like reading our fantasies, our dreams, when reading it, it's like we're living our dreams.
Despite seeing all this, i still must confess that i enjoyed reading the books. Though the ending to Breaking Dawn disappointed me - it was too perfect, everything that bella wanted kind of came true, it resembles an: " and they lived happily ever after" ending too much.
As for the movie. I'm really excited!!! i had my doubts on robert pattison playing edward but after seeing the trailers, i got to give it to him... he may not have the look, but he's certainly got the 'air' to me, he's edward.
Kristen Stewart... I love her. I think she'd make a great bella, more because she fit into MY idea of bella, not so much the bella that stephenie meyer writes about. Kristen's voice makes her sound tough - a girl who can take care of herself and to me, that was one of bella's quality.
Though in the books, as the plot went on, bella just seem to get weaker and weaker, more dependent on others. a little pathetic.
I love alice and emmett by the way - both the characters and those that are playing them.

i definitely liked the first book but new moon god i had a hard time getting through it. i hated new moon the most. meyers writing is okay since its a young adult book bt i could live with that. i just love the romance. i wish i had an edward. one thing i dont like about the movie is robert cause he isnt what i imagined edward to be and i know a lot of ppl agree with me. i mean sometimes he does make a good edward so his acting is good he actually brings edward out but thats in the trailer i hope in the movie i wouldnt get annoyed cause i will have to see him continuously but the trailer looks good cant wait for it. im glad they r goin to show it earlier dont have to wait for dec. im fine with bella on the movie but she is suppose to look normal but i could live with that. just no edward cause i want him to look HOT, MESMERIZING!!! hope it really doesnt ruin the movie for me
I think Twilight is over-rated. >__>;
And it's annoying to see all those girls gawk/drool over Edward Cullen. Like c'mon, he's fictional, and yet you want to marry him? Yeesh.

^ LOL, stalking pedophile

I quite agree

The plot is a typical romance story: Girl falls in love with boy, girl gets into danger, needs saving, boy saves girl, they get married. Whoopee, but Twilight has a twist - it has sparkly vampires

And the action (in the first book, cuz that's all I read up to) doesn't start until like 3/4 in to the storyline.
I don't see how good it is either..i read it, thought it was alright. That was over 2 years ago, and now I don't see the appeal in it at all D; Sorry to all the Twilight fans out there

I tried to give it a chance, I really did, but seriously. It read like fanfic written by a teenager.
The characters all fit into tight clichés, don't develop at all, you need to suspend all belief not to just snigger at every happening, and... sparkling vampires. I mean. Sparkling vampires. The mind boggles.

I think that Meyer is a rather good author, though both my friend and i still thinks that it was an exaggeration to compare her with J.K Rowling, considering that her writing skills are not up to her level yet. I love Twilight and Breaking Dawn, the other two books made Bella look ridiculously fickle-minded and selfish, she knew that she was hurting Edward, but still choose to have an exclusive relationship with Jacob, that's just pure lame, however, it was difficult not to read the sequel as they are just soo very very addicting, definitely not on par with Harry Potter, but very addicting, i'm looking forward to Twilight the movie, though i can't see how Robert is supposed to be inhumanely handsome when he absolutely isn't.

i just finished reading eclipse and i must say its nice although i prefer twilight the best! one thing i like about meyer is that she is able to make the readers addicted to the book! i am totally addicted when i started to read twilight. moreover, i do not like the comparison between her and J.K.Rowling. i think both writers are good in different ways.
the plot is unique but i do not like how meyer always like to describe edward as so beautiful and stuff like that, it gets a little irritating. as for bella, i was neutral towards her in first book but until the third book, i start to dislike her. i find her very selfish and that i do not like the way she keep saying that she can't live without edward and stuff. as for edward, although i am not a big fan of him, i like the way how he chose to love bella as in he is willing to let go of her if she want to be with jacob. i really admire him for that. i must admit that he is really sweet and funny at times.
i think the character i like most is alice. i find her really cute and natural. i also like the rest of the cullen family. as for jacob, i am netural towards him but i really pity him after reading eclipse.
as for the movie, after watching the trailer, i like the casts and the trailer was good! it makes me excited to watch the movie!

LOL @ some of your comments.
I really like the Twilight trilogy...but I agree...it's really getting overrated..
And the movie...I like neither Kristen or Robert. I'm sorry, but I thought there could've been a better choice for Edward. They make him sound so dreamy and hot in the book, but in the movie...? For me, not really..
And KRISTEN.
Oh goodness, I'm sorry, but I don't think she can even act. I remember at the end of one of the trailers, she was supposed to say "I'd rather die than sta away from you"....she said it so badly.
There was absolutely like NO EXPRESSION in her voice. That line was meant to be sweet or w/e, but nothing coming out of her mouth.
That's why I'm probably one of the only girls that isn't interested in the movie. I feel like such an OUTCASTTT : ( LMFAO.
And, personally, I think the movie is just going to wreck the book, cuz most likely, the book is gona be better than the movie.
But nonetheless, I'm still watching the movie ==" Afterall, I read the book, might as well just watch the movie. Since I'm expecting the worst, maybe I'll get some surprise out of it.
Okay about the books now,
Twilight was definitely the best out of the 4. New Moon was probably the worst. After Twilight, I kinda thought the plot was getting ...a bit bad. Like everything started getting really random. New Moon was absolutely boring, as it was all about Bella giving up on herself. And NO EDWARD. (Oh wow, I wonder how the New Moon movie is gona turn out. The main character isnt even in half of the movie)
Eclipse was okay the okay/good-average side.
Breaking Dawn...was on the really random side.
Baby? I liked how Bella could be a part of their family...but the baby part was just kinda weird. Cuz....yeah...
The book really doesn't have any truth in it. It's allll made up, nothing true about vampires.
Cuz I really can't imagine how they ended up having a baby. Eh, yeah, just kinda random.
But yeah, the books still don't disappiont met that much. They were still somehow good in their own way.

I really do hate Twilight and all the teenaged girls for making this piece of crap popular. Here are some reasons why:
1) It reads like bad fanfiction
2) It has vampires that neither has fangs, nor do they really have any Vampiric traits really
3) The vampires sparkle.
4) The main character is the typical annoying female mary sue protagonist
5) It has been crazed to be the "new Harry Potter", which it really isn't I am not a big fan of Harry Potter, but just no. Twilight is no Harry Potter, and Stephanie Meyers is no J.K. Rowling.
6) They have associated one of my favorite bands (Muse) with this piece of junk
7) It is everywhere, and I'm quite bitter about it.

I've just recently read Twilight because I got interested as it seems like every single girl my age is reading it.
Its.... OK. I didn't get all excited over it and I really really really think it pales in comparison to Harry Potter. When I first read HP MANY years ago I was hooked. I couldn't put it down. But although I quite liked the plot for Twilight, I never had the urge to read it over and over again, and once I put it down it was quite long before I picked it up again to read it. It was just like leisure reading to me. Never once did I get addicted to it. In fact, if there was no Edward in the book I wouldn't have bothered to finish it.
Enough with the comparison to HP. One of the main reasons why I didn't get all excited over this book is that:
BELLA IRRITATES ME SO MUCH!
She is my LEAST favourite character. Ever. She is so needy and clingy towards Edward that I wanted to smack her over the head. I absolutely
hate it that she threatens to leave Charlie when he forbade her to see Edward. Like, what happened to 'blood is thicker than water'?

She is weak, weak, weak! And I haven't mentioned selfish.
Everything is Edward, Edward, Edward. It drives me crazy. Not her family, not her friends. In fact, I think the perfect term to describe her is this chinese idiom: 重色輕友.
Also, my favourite character besides Edwards is actually Rosalie. And I actually cheer when she snubs Bella. Like, I hate her that much. >.<
So far I've finished only the first and second books and I'm contemplating on whether I should buy and read the third. Twilight was by far better than New Moon, and I've read Eclipse's synopsis on wiki and it seems full of angst to me. And I'm not sure whether I want Bella to irritate me all over again.

Bella gets FAR more irritating and incredibly selfish as the story progresses, so she isn't going to get any better in Eclipse. However, Eclipse is my 2nd favourite book of the series because there was a bit more action and excitement with the return of Victoria, so I suggest you give it a go.
I can probably guarantee you'll hate Breaking Dawn though. The entire time I was reading it, all I could think of is "Bella is a selfish brat".
the book si soo much better than the movie..wel i guesstat's expected..since the movie can't posibly queeze that much detail into 2 hrs...but still i love th emovie and wouldn't mind watching again...
now on the movie.. what's with all the close ups? they were like in ur face close... and the effects..the meadow scene...how small could the budget have been? and i didn't really like rob's acting..he looked constipatd at some points..hahaa. ( rob fans..please dun take it too seriously..) .. but at the end of the day..i wouldn't want anyone else as edward..he does fit the bill ..tho..since edward's character in the book si supposed to be this unsure vampire after all..lol..kirsten..she could have been more "flowy" with her expressions.. i found them too rigid sometimes..but those scenes where she was just casual..talking to edward and all..those were nice...
the msian screening...the thing that i didn't like was the fact that the censorship board cut uout alot ..and i mean A LOT of the kissing scenes..well.. and some more "intimate" Scenes... well i wasn't satisfied with it...
i'm really not satidfied for not watching the full ver..i mean..all those censors..just made the movie unsatisfying..doea anyone know where i can download the full uncut ver? i found it on youtube..but the quality is just off..the color was soo off..it's like some tinted old medivial movie..i want a good quality one..i know dl links aren't allowed here..maybe some one can put the link of where i can find it?or a link tat's got the dl links?

i started reading twilight series since summer

i read twilight for just one day only i got addicted to it. it's not my favorite book though. like me, i really don't read books, actually i hate reading books but when my friends recommended twilight i was hooked with it and twilight caught my interest in reading. i love the story because its science fiction with a twist between a vampire and a mortal love story.it's a light and romantic story.its a FICTION, for the bookworms who preferred classic novels you'll really don't like twilight but for me and to those who prefer light story and FICTION you'll really like twilight

for the NEW MOON, i read it one day only. it's not that i don't like new moon but its not my favorite book in the saga. actually, i cried in new moon especially in chapter 3 "the end" where edward left bella its really ouch and almost three fourths of the book contains bella-jacob's friendship/fling love story

HAHA

) then, eclipse i like eclipse because its more matured compared to the first two books and i don't like(slight) bella in eclipse because she can't live without edward but she needs jacob too. she's really kinda coquettish in eclipse or i should say thorn between edward and jacob.

BREAKING DAWN, i read BD for one wwk becauyse i still need to review for my midterm exam. anyway, i liked BD because they got married plus they have daughter who is a half breed (half vampire half human!!!)HAHAH:)) but BD is kinda action or not focused to edward and bella anymore..my favorite in the saga is TWILIGHT!!!you should read it!

be obejctive when you read it

hey, did you watched the movie already?i watched for 3 times

I never really understood why everybody was so obsessed about the Twilight series, especially Edward Cullen. One thing I find really stupid is how Bella is the only one (so far) that is immune to Edward's mind reading. What's so special about her? She's just a normal human being isn't she?

why were obsessed with twilight especially edward?i guess it because were very imaginative

plus the story is very childish, immature, sweet(i guess) and it has a unique story that will make you obsessed with it

and EDWARD is too perfect that's why many people obsessed with him

did you already read twilight?uhhmm..if not yet, try to read it, so that you can understand why were obsessed with it and with EDWARD

*obsessed is a bit overstated word*

honestly if u read the book first ur not gonna like the movie.
i hated how they add in these random lines that edward had to say
"google it up" and "hold on spide monkey"
ok no. edward does not talk like that.
and the actor hes not the edward image
cuz edward is this really handsome guy but then u have him coming in looking awkward.
but he was in character the whole time so for that i give him credits.
but i hated bella.
she can not act if her life depended it on.
and what is wrong with her eyes?
she blinked every 0.0001 sec

not to mention he played the beuaty of the school?
im sorry i dont see it.
Rosalie and alexis were so much prettier.
though the supporting cast was amazing.
from the huamns to the vampires to the wolves.
i loved the supporting actors they all played their parts wonderfully.

Of course I did. And I still can't figure out why so many people like him. Overstated? The number of people on my msn list who have Edward Cullen in their names is uncountable.

If I remember correctly, it was written somewhere that Edward sometimes spoke in the way people back in the early 20th century spoke. So the google part would sound a little bit wierd.
It depends on how you interpret it. Stephenie Meyer always repeated that he was "perfect" but beauty is in the eye of the beholder so it really on depends on the person.

i think the plot was decent, but stephanie meyer's writing isnt all that great. she uses the same words over and over again. I've actually read better written fanfictions!

ok, i guess you're right obsessed is the right word
there are so many people who like edward because he's too perfect(i think) and the way he described in the book is very descriptive and narative

i'm not really happy with the movie. i heard there's a part where Bella (wearing no pants -- just undie) was kissing Edward.
that's so unlike her as described in the book. so disappointed. besides that, the movie was fine.
i prefer reading than watching, though.
p/s: sorry, if any of twilight's fans are reading this.

I really didn't like the movie at all. I think it was because I also had bad expectations and assumptions about it and they turned out to be very true. I never read the book before and only went to see it when my friends and I had nothing to do on Thanksgiving night.
The one word that comes to me when I think about the movie was AWKWARD. Seriously, the whole staring thing came off really creepy and the parts with her friends just made me cringe with remnants of bad pre-teen fanfic/fiction.
I think Edward did finally grow on me when he started acting a bit normal like a regular person and smiling. But, the changes were too sudden and for the rest of the time, I was just cringing in my seat and laughing my head off with the rest of the audience.
The thing that I think made the movie a more enjoyable experience for me was that almost everyone there was college age+ and were just all bored like me. Therefore, it turned out to be a very hilarious movie in some parts. Not at all what it should have been.
---------
I did, however, go out and buy the book because I really doubted that the movie did it justice. And, I'm really glad that I can say that it didn't. Despite the fact that the writing isn't as good as I hoped, the story really did come off better and I enjoyed it a lot more.
One additional note, no offense to those who enjoyed the part, I was holding onto my seat with laughter when Edward turned around and he was sparkling. (I hadn't read the book yet, it sounds much better in the book) Seriously, the way he hid, I thought it was suppose to be horrifying and it was glitter...That really got the whole audience laughing...
i've been stuck in college for the past 2 hrs..no mood to do h/w..i dun have class till 9am tomorro morning ..so oi'll prob just stay up to do it..
i noticed something while watching interview after interview for these 2 hrs...
kristen and rob..when doing interviews..i noticed they like eot ruffle their hair..as in ruffle and it becomes messy...well for a guy it is somewhat normal..but for a girl.. i find it kinda ...edgy ...hahaha......

I was readinng an interview in a tabloid (hey, i like em!) the other day with Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart (urgh. the girl is dry and NOT charming at all. Can't stand her) and Rob is hilarious.
Poor guy. He actually STATED that he had really no idea what he signed on for when he signed up for the role of Edward Cullen and he didn't even read the books until about 5 months after auditions began (or something like that). and even then, he was like, "....o_O. What is this...?" (at least he has a good head on his shoulders!). But the funniest was at the end when the mag was asking him about his reaction to the fans, and he was like, "Yeah, I'll be getting these 13-year-old girls coming up to be and saying, "I want to have your babies!" and I'll be like, no, you don't, seriously. I don't even want to have my babies." LOOOOOL. I love him.
And obviously, I despised the films. It was a bit unfortunate because unlike other people, my friends & I went to the film and the theater was filled with Twilight fans. Sigh. So we all got shushed and yelled at when we laughed and giggled so we ended up leaving early. Partly because we couldn't stand the film and partly because I was pretty sure we would've gotten ... reported had we stayed until the end of the film and the lights went up. hehe. Whoops. I'll edit this later, with some more stuffs...

Hmmm, yeah I'm really glad the whole theater was pretty much filled with college students when I went. I don't think I could have stood the whole movie without those comments that were made and the laughter throughout the whole movie. I really don't get how it was that enjoyable.

Are you sure? Stephanie repeats the fact that he's "perfect" at least three times.

I'll take that as my cue to wait for the DVD and be forced to watch it during class or borrow from somebody instead of spending money & gas to go see the movie.

Well, I finally watched the movie yesterday...and well....I didn't like it.
The flow and transition was just really bad....they cut a TON of stuff and it felt really weird how they met each other so fast and got close so fast. And also, I didn't think the movie was really THAT sweet...at least not for me. There could've been a lot more sweeter scenes...or either, that might have just been their acting skills' problem. Not sure, but I didn't really have this thinking it's cute or sweet feeling when I was watching it.
Also, another bad transition was when Bella had to leave the hotel to go find James, in the book, it took her a wayy longer time to be able to leave Alice and Jasper, but in the movie, it doesn't even take 30 seconds =="
And they skipped a lot of things..like I said. Like the talks between Alice and Bella too.
And seriously, main thing for me is : not sweet enoughh.
But anyways, for me, the movie turned out to be more of a comedy...most of the ppl were like laughing in the theatre when I went. Luckily, no one screamed during the movie.. The funny parts were pretty entertaining, but overall...not so impressed.
