What do you guys think about the themesong?

I love the themesong so much! It sounds better than the last time I heard it.
At first, I wasn't too sure who sang it (despite knowing earlier), I had just blanked out when listening to it. And when she first sang, I had actually thought it sounded a bit like Miriam Yeung! Then after a few seconds, then I realised it was Joyce! Hahaha.

It is sung by Joyce Cheng, I'm waiting to watch the series first to comment on the theme.

wow, i was so surprised to know that joyce cheng (lydia shum's daughter) sang the themesong! her singing is actually pretty good. the whole time i was listening i was thinking, "who is this? doesnt' sound familiar but she can sing."

and the themesong itself is pretty nice. nice, mellow song and the scenes don't reveal too much about the story.

Didn't realize that the theme song was sung by Joyce Cheng too until I read some of the posts here!
Think it's a good start for her! Not bad for a newbie but she really has to improve more on the high note! It seems she had difficulty to reach the high note(key) in the song!

i like the song..if anyone has a rip version they can post up please share . joyce's singing isn't too bad, i like it .

Thanks for the song. The first few seconds sounds a bit too breathy, but the later part was good. I really like it. She was also able to express the emotion of the song better in the later part of the song.

Joyce definitely can sing. Hope she will have success in the singing department. She has a good voice. So, with more training, she can grow to be a really good singer.

I'm surprised that they didn't let Kate Tsui or Kenneth Ma sing the themesong. TVB usually let the actors who acted in the series sing the themesong nowadays.

I read in Baidu that there is 2 version of the themesong. One was used in Wah Lai Toi during the promotion of 'Speech of Silence', another is the actual themesong.

Anyone has the Wah Lai Toi version?

I'm glad they had Joyce sing the theme song. I love the theme song really much, the tune and the melody sounds very sweet. I also think that Joyce has done a good job; maybe some more practice and she'll be a good singer

Ya! I realised there were sort of two different sounding versions of the theme song.. The one released before the series aired was a little lower pitch on some parts while the one played in the series was higher picth.. Haha.. Dunno how to explain.. Guess you gotta listen to the version (Lower Pitch) that I posted up and watch the series and compare to know what I mean.. Haha..

i was guessing tht the singer is joyce cheng the very first time i heard it because the singer reminds me so much about the voice of linking hearts. she sang really well for this song and i am loving it! hehe.

i was very shock to find out Joyce is the singer..i think she has pretty good voice and pretty talented..way to go Joyce!

i honestly didnt know who sang this song and then was very surprised to learn it was Joyce! U must say she sounds alot better and improved since the last time i heard her sing!
guess TVB really trying to make her career for her

i think tht she has a talent in singing regardless of what those tht do not really fancy her say. no doubt she might have famous parents...but it's obvious tht she's trying really hard to make it on her own instead of depending on parents' money alone.

I am really surprise this song is really good...

I always thought that she was good in singing and she has a really rich voice but this time she has really wowed me because she is able to portray the emotions clearly! I can't wait for her album to be out!

joyce sang this song so well...u know what? the first time i listen to this song at astro on demand channel, i was so attracted to the soothing voice and melody..i wonder which singer sang it and i waited patiently for the episode to end in order to make way for the credit list to roll up. joyce name was appeared as the singer...i was so surprised and proud for her..

I started to like the song more and more!
The melody is nice & Joyce did have a good voice in singing this song (except the highest key that she still has to improve on!)
But it's a good song on the whole!

Had no idea at all that Joyce sung this until reading this thread. I thought the song was okay at first but after listening to it a few more times, I'm starting to like it. Shes got a beautful voice.

Her voice has always been good in my opinion. I already like her voice when she was still a fat teenage girl. I think those people who commented that she sings bad are just bias against her.

Her singing skill still need improvement (breathing sound too loud), but there's no doubt that there's a good voice there.

I really like the theme song too. When I first listened to it, I was like, hm... it's ok, but the more you listen to it the more it grows on you. Like, real quick too.

I love the song and was just looking for information here.... never heard Joyce sang before, she sounds good, tons better than lots of junk singers out there now

The more I listen to the song and I look at the lyrics, the more I think it fits the series and the song is written from Tong Tong's POV. Like how is she going to handle not able to hear anything but in the end she knows that hearing with her heart is better than hearing with her ears. (Referring to the scene in which OK Zai confess to Tong Tong, he says that listening using the heart is better.)

I like the song itself, and Joyce's voice sounds nice, but she still needs to work on her skills. She kinda breaths in the wrong spots which makes the part sound chopped off and her high notes aren't that strong enough. But I like her voice though; a lot more attractive than many of those newcomers nowadays.

I absolutely love the song, the more I listen to it, the more it grows on me. I never knew it was Joyce who was singing it, I was really surprised when I found out it was Joyce. Her lovely voice along with the lovely lyrics made the song sound wonderful. Although it's not perfect, I agree that there are rooms for improvement for Joyce, but it's awesome for a first time!! Bravo Joyce!!

her voice is really really good! she is way better than all those new singers that came out in the industry these few years. Her voice is really pretty and she can convey the emotions of the song really well.

Admittedly she could work on her high notes a bit more since they sound a bit strained and breathy.

People should give her a break. I mean just because she has famous parents and got into the industry a more direct way than most people. She's working really hard to prove herself and to give herself a name and not just "so and so's daughter".

I found out the reason why. I've just finished listening to Stephen Chan's interview. He said that TVB initially uses their own actors to sing the songs is because in the past, eventhough the songs are the themesong of their TV series, they don't own the copyright too it. They have to get permission from other studios who own the copyrights if they want to release a compilation CD. So, they want to own back the copyright of their own TV series songs and produce their own songs. And since they are producing their own songs, they might as well let their actors sing it. But the execs realise later that not everyone can sing. So, they gave back the songs to the professionals to sing.
