Sometime Long TVB Series get boring, because takes too long to get the point, and made people has to spent more time, but I have to said that some are very good series, but longevity, I prefer to watch TVB series that ends on 30 chapter instead of 50, 60. Twenty is a little fast, I bet for 30

I like short ones better especially the quality tvb these days. Some of them are too draggy.

Yeah tat's true! Sumtimes the series is long but the storyline is interesting...it is alright but sumtimes the series is short but draggy and boring, it is not good! So it depends on the storyline!

i prefer to watch long ones den short ones because da short has to rushed to fit it in da 20 episode frame .... i fink dat 30-42 is long enough.... but if da storyline of da series is boring and ders a lot of episodes den i don't lyk dat ... should have both good storyline and a reasonable length.

I, too, agree that series should be around 30 episodes. Unless there's a very good story (something in line with In the Threshold of an Era, Step Into The Past), it shouldn't try to push it to 40 episodes.

Really, long and short really doesn't matter as long as it's not the boring kind, you know, the ones that makes you not care if you miss an episode or not. But personally i prefer longer ones, ranging from 30-32 or something like that.

I think you need a mix of both. The short ones can be more light-hearted and a nice change, but sometimes you can beat a nice long drama like in the old days - e.g. Greed of Man and Looking Back in Anger. Also the ancient series like the 83 version of LOCH

TVB series are very long these days. I think a 30 episodes is just average

nowaday the tvb series are short, 3 years ago it was like 40-50 esp.

I like TVB dramas with 40 eps. Most of TVB famous series has 40 eps. 60 eps are too long and too boring. Like "warm heart and clood blood" The first 10-20 eps were interesting but after that it was very boring and after 40 esp it was good. I think a serie should not to be long because i think a lot of people don't like to watch long series.

i think for comedies, it should be short whereas for series which deal with serious topics eg buseness, should be longer

the bad draggy ones can be cut a little bit...such as virtues (modern). it's way too long. they never seem to edit their scenes, and it always looks very sloppy.
the good ones, with a strong premise and unsatisfying ending should continue...such as placebo cure, colourful life, square pegs etc.
or ofcourse the longer ones that you can't seem to get enough should continue! such as virtues (ancient) and dif series.

I think that it depends on the series. There are some series with really good plots and acting that makes you want to see more. However, there are also those that start to deteroriate once you're in the last ten episodes. I think that 30-40 episodes is a decent size for a TVB series.

wah.. the long ones really gets boring sometimes. Like that one "Chong sai gei" like 50 episode then stop for awhile then another 50 episode!!! like.. end!!!

the longer series are better sometimes because the movies get into greater details with their story. Short ones are too short. They seem to rush through the events in the movie leaving viewers sometimes lost and confused.

Recently, TVB has aired a lot of 30 episodes series, SOU, War and Beauty, Split Second, Conqueror's Story, and The Last Breakthrough, so I think 30 episodes for a series is reasonable

20 for all those comedies, but I wouldn't midn a serious drama to be as long as 100 epis long. Virtues, however, is definately not my cup of tea. At the Threshold of an Era, however, is.

well, it depends which person act on that series....if it is a funny one i would love to see it in a Long series but of because there's a limitation for it.....because if it is like "true love" translate in chinese please, it's a way too long for me...that's why i don't like to watch it....wasting my time on it....

Well i personlly like to short series but some of the longer series are pretty good the only thing are that some of the short series should be turned into long series for die heart fans like me.

20 episodes is too short... 50-60 episodes is too long winded...
best is 25-30 episodes... my own view...

well short if the story and cast sucks.. thats a simple one but if we're talking about a series like Shine On You, the definately as long as possible.

i like short series because they tend to get to the point & move faster.. 20 episode series are quite good most of the time. that's not saying that i don't like longer series, i do too if it actually has the plot needed to take up that many episodes.. i just dont like it when writers run out of ideas but still make the series longer & longer just for the sake of it. i mostly prefer 20 & 30 episode series tho

i think my favorite length for a TVB series should be around 30-35. 20 is way too little, and 40 is making me bored already. I can't stand the virtues of harmony. It has like hundreds of eps and I get soooo addicted to it that it just makes me nuts. So I stopped watching it.

i like those series are around 20 ep. because when it become more than 20 ep. i feel like i lost the interested in the serie. and it becomes boring.

To me it don't really matter if tvb series is short or long. All it matters if the series is good.

long tvb just better than the short one...i saw several short ones but then it was just too quick of an action and sometimes it doesnt make sense...or maybe it's just me...hehe

Some series I don't like I want that one to be short. But some one that I very like I want that to be long.

Well, it depends on how long each chapter is and how interesting the storyline is. I really have no preference, just as long as the story is good.

It depends on the depth of the plot. A complicated plot will require a longer series. I hate it when they rush the ending.

Yea, if the series goes over 30-40, they're just pushing it... Making it somewhat repetitive and annoying...

it is really doesn't matter that much to me but there are some of the series that i think they should make it longer. while there are some long series out there that is so boring that i wish it to be shorter.

the 20eps ones are usually rushed and the 40ep+ usually gets a little draggy so 30eps is best

WELL, i think that long series are usually good enough that they capture your attention for long periods of time. Only sometimes your like sheesh hurry up and end!! But the short ones you usually think, well good thing it's over, more then noooo i want morre! In short, long series are cooler then the short ones.

I think 40 eps is too long for me and usually i'm getting bored. I like when there are between 20 and 25 episodes especially for comedy, I prefer 20 episodes. Before renting the serie (i don't live in hk), I see how many episodes there are before deciding if I want to see it or not.

It is very hard decision.. bc there are good long series.... like Golden Faith.. which i felt was good.. but i also enjoyed short one too.. sometimes I feel 30 is the crappy ones.. bc usually i feel 30 epi series can be 20 epi ..and they are just dragging it out.. ie. Split Seconds.. terrible series...
