I think Daniel Wu is really a good actor, the first movie that I saw him in was Gen- X cops. In alot of the movies that he is in he seems to play the bad but good guy or just plain bad...lol I just love all the movies he's in

it's the pronouncation between mandarin and cantonese. If he was born in HK, then his surname would be Ng. Most of other places in Asia would spell it Wu

recently i watched his movie - drink drank drunk wif miriam yeung....they look so cute 2gether....they've paired up in several movies dee, i think n they really suited each other well....daniel n miriam was both so funny n hilarious in drink drank drunk....he is a french chef while she sells beer... he's really cute when he acted drunk....da last part was very touching when miriam finally realized dat he's nt drunk n meant all da words he said to her....awwww.... i watched this movie thrice in da cinema because daniel, miriam, alex fong happen 2 b my fave actors n actress and they r all acted in this same movie!! wat a coincidence....saw daniel n alex in a nite in mong kok too....dat was a pretty cool movie too...typical cops-chasing-killers movie...

anyway, he's into singing now n is a band member of alive.... their songs r kinda catchy n i luv it.... his band members r very much similar 2 him...his best friend - Terence Yin grew up in LA, Andrew Lin was born in taipei n speaks cantonese as bad as daniel do he was a makeup artist residing in US b4 going 2 HK (i think he acted in a tvb series - the last breakthrough wif nick cheung). Couldnt get much info on Conroy Chan though... by the way, their 1st song is in cantonese n da irony is dat all da 4 of them can barely pronounce cantonese well

i am a total daniel wu fan 100%...some may even call me a freak. but to be honest...his joining this "boyband" has kinda turned me off a bit. To me daniel was one of those actors who doesn't care about publicity and doesn't care if something makes him "look bad"....like he'll play the gay guy, and he'll play the idiot, and he'll play the fool....but to stoop to this level....i dunno....am i the only one with this opinion?

Anyway, most (if not all) of the alive fans were fans of one of the guys first and that's why they like the band...

If it were for publicity, i don't really see why daniel would be doing it; he has the biggest fan base. If anything, he has lost fans from doing this...

I read some of his newsletter things from yahoo he used to do, there were hints that this would happen from over a year ago...

As for the singing ability of the band; the fist song was absolutely awful! The second song was actually decent though (probs because the only one who has actual singing ability sings most of it)...

I would say, it's his type of thing to do. Knowing he's the type to try new things, why not right?

I mean we know he likes his music, and so does his other friends, they tried it out on that JVC commerical and people seemed to love it, so why not try the boy band thing out. It's not like it's gonna hurt anything. He's a carefree guy.

As for being a publicity stunt, this guy doesn't need any publicity stunts to make him get more fans or be more famous, he's already UP at the charts for being an Actor of his age.

Even though I'm not a fan of the band it self, I'm still a fan of Daniels because he's a great actor.

first time i noticed daniel was in NPS... (i know i know.. it's sooo late!!)
but he didn't have that much impact on me.. so i forgot his name (don't hate me! )
then i bought Love Undercover because i was curious after reading the storyline.. not knowing it stars the same daniel...
then i was hooked!!
then i found out later that he was also in Around the World in 80 Days... so i watched it again...
i found most of his movies in yesasia and still thinking which ones i want to buy first
i don't wanna buy all of his movies in yesasia at one time because that will put a dent in my wallet hee hee

zarbiey, I think for the light comedies with action, you should definately get Enter the Phoenix and House of Fury. Those are my two most favorite Daniel movies (after LU).

Born wild; he looks totally hot as a boxer/fighter person! Storyline is alright but nothing special...

Beauty and the breast; funny movie (he gets breasts) and his canto is actually good here. It is funny at some parts but boring in most...

Divergence; most people seem to think it's a confusing movie or that it was bad. Aaron kwok's acting makes the movie totally funny; i never knew he was such a poor actor! But i liked it...however, daniel looks not so appealing with facial hair :S

Purple storm; i haven't seen it but i have heard it's pretty good and his acting is not bad either! It's about a terrorist (daniel) who loses his memory and gets brainwashed...

Twins effect 2; the general consensus is that it was one crap movie lol. But i thought it was alright. He does not have a major role so if you are seeing it just for him, don't bother, it's not worth seeing! However, personally i liked it. The ending made me cry (yes i know that's weak)

Devil face angel heart; a lot of flesh! Daniel is a deformed killer but his boss tries to kill him and his brother off so he does not have to pay them. Unsuprisingly, daniel does not die and he becomes undeformed. The women who saves him teaches him how to seduce women etc and he goes back for revenge...I quite enjoyed this movie



Well i only know canto and i try to learn mando too. But it's too hard; imho if you learn one first, it's too hard to get the sounds right in the other one! lol

Naked weapon; plot holes galore! It's about these little girls being kidnapped to be trained as hit women and only one is supposed to live through the training but 3 do in the end. Daniel plays a cop who's investigating the matter. He falls for one of the assasins etc etc. Daniel speaks a lot of english in this movie. It's not a great movie but he looks damn fine in it! lol

About his accent..yes I also think that it's cute when he speaks Cantonese.

I myself is Hokkien(Fukien). I know Mandarin when I study in Primary school. Since I was very young I watch HK Cantonese series with my family and that's how I know Cantonese. Besides, I must know Malay in Brunei (a requirement to go to College) and English. That means I know Hokkien, Mandarin, Cantonese, Malay and English but not expert at them (just understandable and average). '

Omg....daniel is soo cute.....he looks soo good in "cop on a mission". but i still prefer he plays good guys. They look better when they play good guys.

But when he is the good guy, he loses some of (if not all of) the "ying" look lol

Just finished watching Drink Drank Drunk yesterday! I loved Daniel....he's such a gorgeous hunk I think he's Cantonese has improved alot since the last movie i watched that he was starring in - Love Undercover 2...

Great Comedy and action comming from Daniel and Stephen Fung. Plus Chapman To, and Ka Ying Gor(Liza Wangs Husband). Oh one more if you're interested in it, it's called "DragonBlade or Dragon Heart"...not sure..forgot. But Daniel does the voice of a Animated character in that movie. It's a cartoon animated kung fu style movie.

Dragonblade is all done in Cantonese and there will be a english version released...if it hasn't yet. I don't see why Daniels part is all english, since he can speak cantonese just fine. But singing it is a different matter. '

Other voices on that movie from what I can remember is Karen Mok. There is a website of that movie, if you wanna look it up, just look up the name of the movie, and you'll get the URL, there's also a choice of chinese version or an english version of the web site. So you can just pick from there.

I just finished watching "Drink Drank Drunk" and I thought Daniel's performance in it was pretty good. I didn't know he knew how to speak French too. I liked how he pretended to be drunk at the end and he proposed to Miriam.

i agree, but he did put an effort into it. quite a good accent as well. when he was drunk while "speaking" in french, in the previews at first i thought he was actually talking in some jibberish made up words, like he was drunk and didn't know what he was even trying to say. i study french but i'm not quite sure if he was even saying any "real" sentences. but i did catch some words. overall, i think he had a good performance and i'm kinda hoping to watch him in everlasting regret.

I am currently watching Drink Drank Drunk. I bought it yesterday. So far it is good. I love the chemistry between Miriam and Daniel, they rock! And did you notice, 75% of the ALIVE is in the movie besides Conroy! He might be in it, but I don't think I saw him yet. Weird huh!?
