Song Hye-kyo Sheds Cute Image for Gisaeng Role (2007/03/27)

The producers of "Hwang Jin-i" on Monday released several still photos from director Chang Yoon-hyun's movie about a Chosun-era gisaeng (a female entertainer) starring Song Hye-kyo and Yoo Ji-tae.

The photos show Song as the character Hwang in various costumes, including that of noble lady, a beautiful and seductive gisaeng, and disguised as a man drinking in an inn. Another features Song in a white underskirt, her extended leg faintly showing through. The other photos include Yoo Ji-tae as Hwang's first lover Nomi and Ryu Seung-yong as a local governor who supports Hwang. "Song Hye-kyo's deep eyes and attractive figure show that she has transformed from a cute young girl into a true woman", the publicity materials gushed.

"Hwang Jin-i" started shooting on a set in Paju in Gyeonggi Province last July. It took 194 days to make the film. Other locations for the lavish production included the Korean Folk Village in Youngin, Buan, Andong, Yangpyeong, Namsangol Traditional Village in Seoul, the Seonam Temple in Suncheon, and Mt. Kumgang in North Korea.

The film has gained considerable attention, fueled by last year's TV drama with the same name starring another popular actress, Ha Ji-won, and the fact that it is Song's first stab at a period film.

"Hwang Jin-i" is in its final stages and is scheduled for release on June 6.

her beauty secrets:

1) whitening file:
one egg (egg white only), a spoonful of honey. Mix evenly. Use before bed, apply to face, and wait for a while to dry. Rinse off well with water. Use every 2 weeks or so.

2) Milk makes skin soft and smooth:
Use a cotton ball, and dip in milk. Dab over your face. Wait 20 minutes, for the milk to dry, and wash your face.

3) face slimming:
ICE CUBES! The cold will make your skin firmer, therefore, there is an illusion that your face looks smaller/slimmer. This helps your skin feel more firm and tight.

I've read in soompi that SHK will be going at HK on April 15 to present an award with Kwon Sang Woo

I hope that her movie will be a success. And look forward to seeing her this weekend for the HK event. I think this week she is busy with commercial shoots. One for Innisfree, so we shall look forward to seeing new CF from her.

Korean actress Song Hye-gyo will attend the Hong Kong Film Awards to present the Best Asian Film award.

The secretariat of the Hong Kong Film Award said that Song’s rising fame around the world makes her the most appropriate presenter for the Best Asian Film award. It added that since Song is extremely popular in Hong Kong, her presence at the award ceremony will be much appreciated by Hong Kong fans.

During the Chinese promotional tour of her TV drama “Full House� last February, Song’s beauty was rated by the press and fans to rival that of celebrated Chinese actresses such as Zhang Ziyi and Cheung Pak Chi.

Kwon Sang Woo & Song Hye Kyo Arrive in HK for Film Awards

The ‘Hong Kong Film Awards’ will be held tonight. Most of the overseas guests, who have been invited to hand out awards, arrived yesterday, including Kwon Sang Woo, Song Hye Kyo, Chen Kun and Zhou Xun. ‘Housewife killer’ Kwon Sang Woo was welcomed by many fans holding pink balloons. At the sight of the idol, fans screamed and the exhilaration heightened when Kwon Sang Woo gave a welcoming smile and waved. Fans then pushed passed each other, hoping to be able to give their idol a present. This caused a hectic scene where fans lost their shoes and some were even knocked over. But this did not stop the fans as they chased Kwon Sang Woo until he went into his car. The fans then began discussing the handsome face of their idol, his pale skin and his captivating smile.

Song Hye Kyo arrived two hours earlier than Kwon Sang Woo. The actress, who was not wearing makeup and sun glasses, was also warm to her fans. When hearing fans call out her name in Korean, she let out a cheerful smile. When she reached her car, Song Hye Kyo turned around to say goodbye before leaving.

On the other hand, Chen Kun and Zhou Xun were less warm to their fans. They both wore sunglasses and although there were only a few fans, Chen Kun had his arms around Zhou Xun to ensure that she was not pushed by their fans.

I don't stop by this thread very often but I just saw SHK on tv for the HK awards and I think she looked fabulous. Her hair was ok but I love the glow on her face. I wonder how she keeps it so fine. I just finished watching "Full House" and she is SOOOOOOO FLIPPING PRETTY in it, omg. She's so charismatic and talented. Haha, totally my new girlcrush! I don't know too much about her, but she's a very good actress and I want to see more of her dramas. Any recommendations?

i am so in love with her, her acting in AUTUMN IN MY HEART/AUTUMN TALE freaking was AMAZING! i said it before, but then she looks so much like kate bosworth to me its not even funny!

she has amazing lips and she cries so sweet! its hard to find someone so soft...though she was a little rough in Full House, this drama AUTUMN TALE totally shined a softer and nicer, sweeter side to her that breaks my heart! she is my favorite now!!!! <3 much love!

haven't seen much from her since Full House, is she on a break or something besides that movie that she is filming? o.O

she just finished with filming the movie, "hwangjini"...it's going to be released on june 6, 2007 and I just can't wait. She portrays a complete transformation of character in this movie and it looks to be amazing and a box hit release!

Latest change, it will be released on 22 May and 23 May (Premiere date which SHK will attend). It will also be screened in North Korea end May.
