THE TERRIFIC TRIVIAS
1. Sammul is pronounced as “Samuel.” Actually, his original name, which was given by one of his sisters, was the latter. But when he was 11, he had to fill out an identity card form and misspelled his name, thus his name is written as Sammul since.

2. Besides Sammul and 陈键锋, his fans also call him 苗 (Cantonese: Miu / Mandarin: Miao), which means sprout, or a new young plant. Besides the word “Miu” has a quite similar pronunciation with the last syllable of his English name, “mul”, it also depicts his looks that are refreshing, young-looking, and healthy.

3. Sammul lived his first 19 years of life in a church with his parents and 2 older sisters where his father worked as a church worker. His family has been a Christian for 5 generations. He never joins TVB’s praying ceremony, which is an important event for the involved TVB artistes to attend, because it contradicts his Christian beliefs. He prays according to his beliefs instead, for the good ratings of his series.

4. Sammul doesn’t sign a management contract with TVB (AKA is not TVB’s own son as the media calls it), and is managed by Ivy Chow who has been his manager since he began to work in the entertainment world in 1999. One of the reasons of his not wanting to sign a full contract with TVB is because he doesn’t want to change his manager, who is like his second mom as she has been promoting, caring, loving, and supporting him since they work together.

5. Besides being an actor and singer, Sammul also takes some jobs as a live event and TV host, model, and dubber.

6. Besides his native language Cantonese, he also has a good command of English and Mandarin.

7. Sammul always wants to try new things, and he has some eclectic certificates. He has been certified in lifesaving, grade 2 amateur roller blading, canoeing, being a member of the Red Cross, studying sign language, child caring, and scuba diving. When he is free, he will go hiking, canoeing and scuba diving.

8. Sammul is very good in flower arranging. He inherited and learned the skills from his mother, who is an expert in it. He also is a great gift wrapper. He always wraps his gifts for others, even if he’s busy, as he thinks it doesn’t look good when giving someone a gift without any wrappings.

Yesterday, Sammul's plan was to end work at 1pm, and then travel to the function at 4pm, it was estimated that he could eat, then complete his function in a relaxed manner, and by 12am he should be able to reach home, and sleep more, since he's started work at 9am today.

It ended up that he filmed until 3.15pm, and reached home at 4.30pm, he took a quick shower, change his clothes, and rushed out before 5pm, calculating carefully, it seems that he was rushing to and fro this few days, and his total sleeping time was only 3 hours, although on the surface he still looked very refreshed, I believe that we could not even imagine how tired his body is.

On the way, he put on his headphone and started rehearsing his lyrics, although the car ride was bumpy, he actually fell asleep and let's not disturb him, let him rest during this long 3 hour car ride, and refresh himself a little.

When he reach the scene, he found out that actually he was mistaken about the time he was suppose to reach, he actually could eat some things, but the dishes was oily,and Sammul was afraid it will affect his voice, thus he only eat a little and then put down his chopsticks, and concentrate on his lyrics.

At the end, on the way back, he bought a burger from a roadside stall, and was eating on his way back, hopefully he can reached home before midnight, and gained more time to sleep, I believed he at least have 7 hours of sleep yesterday!

The KFC lucky encounter

I've been in Shun Tak for a business trip these few days, and have to eat my meals alone. Yesterday I wanted to buy some fastfood takeout, so I went to KFC.

When I was standing in line, I suddenly realized that the people around me were getting excited. I raised my head to see what happened.

I saw a tall, slim, dark, muscled man with a pointed nose came in to stand in the line.

I was thinking that girls these days are so uninhibited, they were discussing about a handsome guy that freely once they saw one.

And then I pondered, maybe my eyes and brain didn't collaborate properly, and I suddenly thought, isn't that guy Sammul Chan?

(Sorry, as far as I remember, Sammul is fair-skinned, didn't think that he'd be so dark and well-built.)

I was so suprised. A Hong-Konger can surprisingly meet a Hong Kong actor in Shun Tak.

He's so handsome. But I could see that he had some make-up on his face, maybe he was in the middle of filming?

He ordered 2 takeout meals. People, one by one, were starting to recognize him. Basically, the people there was in a slight tumult.

At that time, his companion came in and stood in the line for him, so Sammul could leave his place.

He went to the restroom, and the girls were walking behind following him.

The funniest part was the waitress, maybe she was electrified by Sammul.

She realized it after both Sammul and his companion were gone that they had ordered and paid for 2 meals, but the waitress only gave them 1.

Maybe Sammul's companion also didn't check his order first; what a big loss.

It seems that being too handsome can make one suffer a loss, haha.

How enjoyable it is to just eat, sleep and play

Last Friday night, when I attended the activity, I knew I would have, 6th, 7th and 8th, three days off. Therefore I have been busy with enjoying eating, sleeping and playing. It’s like the compensation of last few months’ hard work.

My work will start tomorrow. I’ll shoot for the “Celebrity Hall of Fame” tomorrow afternoon. Then I’ll attend a cocktail party in celebration of a newspaper’s anniversary. In the next few days, I’ll be interviewed by a series of journals for promoting “The Top Four Constables”, as when the drama is on TV, I’ll probably leave HK. This journey is going to be very attractive, exciting and desirable. I’m so nervous.

It is so funny. These are a few parts I like.

I get an opportunity to go to Arctic this time. I’m so delighted and excited. It must be very cold in Arctic. Even though it wouldn’t be easy for me, a southerner, to get used to the cold weather; it could take lots of adjustments; and there would be uncountable difficulties, how many times can a person have the chances to go to such a far and remote place? Thinking about this, I feel very composed. I’ll be benefited in any case.

The trailer of “The Top Four Constables” is so cool. Lots of people told me that they had high expectations for this series. As an actor in the series, I feel so honored. Although I’ll have to leave for Arctic and I’ll only be able to watch the first episode, I believe you guys will watch it and support me. When I’m back, half of the series would have been broadcasted. The series will be recorded, so I’ll be able to watch it later.

Too be honest i really don't like Sammul's latest loooks, Just something about his looks that doesn't satisfy me. I mean his face etc. looks different! although his acting has improved!
I liked his looked in Triumph in the skies etc. it looks more manly and cute. ANyways i can't wait to the Four coms out in Viet!
