his acting is so "san gray" so lively. even in supposedly serious series and movies like all the wuxia ones, he makes them so funny. hes like dayo wong in a way. they wont do plain series and will always make it funny some how.

Dicky Cheung is one of my favorite actors (as well as singing too!) of all times. I always love to see his newest movies. He's always surprising me with his roles. I wish he would gain more attention for his acting. It's really award winning. If there was a "Who can cry the best award for actors," I would have to vote for Dicky Cheung as the male actor who can cry the best for me. His emotions and tears are just almost utmost real. He seems to be really enveloped in his crying scenes. His "teary" moments are always so intense...like in a battlefield or just on the verge of a serious heartbreak. In fact, I think that's what characterizes his acting. I usually remember his comedic performances as well as serious, emotional ones like him crying. The last series I saw him crying was the "Handsome Siblings: aka Amazing Twins/Proud of Twins." It was quite remarkable. I've watched him since the early 90's with Duke of Mt. Deer, Journey To The West, Mystery Of The Twin Sword(s) as well. His scenes are so real that it makes you want to cry with him as well. He is truly an underrated actor, IMHO. Such a talented person.

i think i'll prefer in comedt series.. he always make me laugh until tears come out..

Dicky' Cheung's Expresses His Emotional Loss

Yesterday Dicky Cheung confirmed that his long term girl friend Zhang Qian was expected to have a baby in March this year. Unfortunatley during the Chinese lunar new year period there was an accidental miscarriage. Between several days he experienced the most wonderful yet most emotional pain ever. Dicky expressed that his feelings were like riding a rollercoaster all so sudden. Fortunately he had his family’s support and the blessing of God. The encouragement had helped him a lot. Even though Dicky was extremely emotional he carried on working with a positive attitude.

The reporter asked Dicky about the incident. He replied “Actually, this incident happened during the Chinese lunar new year period. During these two months I have been very upset, but thankfully both of us are Catholics. I prayed a lot during those hard times and felt god had helped me come out of the dark and see a new light. I will not let this incident ruin my life and we are now focusing on a New positive future.” Asked how the miscarriage happened. Dicky declared he didn’t want to talk about it.

Its sad to hear that his wife has a miscarriage.They are young and hv plenty of opportunity!

How come he's listed in the Mainland actor?

I thought his series were all HK series originally? Does that mean that when an actor stops filming HK ( i.e. stops their contract with TVB/ATV ), they immediately become listed as a "Mainlaind actor"?

Actually I could think of plenty of HK ex-TVB artists who's like that... Julian Cheung, Frankie Lam, Gallen Lo...etc..

Dicky Cheung dyes his goatee beard and damages his skin

Dicky Cheung attended the “Shanghai International Film Festival” Yesterday. His purpose for attending this festival was to promote his new movie “Outright”. The Festival organisers were very interested in this movie although it would not be competing with other movie’s in the festival.
Recently Dicky had been growing a goatee beard and part of his chin area seemed to have been damaged. Dicky laughs and explains that its because of wanting to look good. Earlier he went to a salon to dye his beard white but after seeing beautiful golden hair on a golden retriever dog, he went back to dye it gold.

During the dye process his skin became very sensitive and started to become damaged. He had been wearing a surgical mask the whole time he was on the plane to Shanghai. A few days ago he played soccer with Andy Hui who was often teasing him. Andy said that he looked cool but very ugly. Dicky expressed that he was afraid people would tease him looking like Lau Tin Chi. Asked how his wife Jess Zhang reacted to his new look? Dicky smiles and immediately directs the question to Tsui Siu Ming who also had a beard.

Dicky almost declared bankrupcy in 1997

Dicky Cheung was attending the name signing event for the charity sale of "Sichuen Cry" VCD. Despite the recent economic crises, he called on the people to continue their support for the fund raising to help the Sichuen victims to rebuild their homes. He aslo disclosed that he had lost almost 99% of his asset in 1997. He nearly had to declare bankrupcy. He had to rely on borrowing money from his friends to tie him over the bad times. Speaking about his good friend Edmond Leung who is getting married in December, Dicky is planning to get married early next year, probably before the Chinese New Year.

Dicky Cheung gets injured by an eagle claw attack

Dicky Cheung's had worked extremely hard for his performance in the new movie (Duo Biao). Not only did he not mind getting injured but he also got hurt in his private part area. Director Tsui Siu Ming specifically used alot of time to create this fighting scene and wanted the outcome to look real. The scene involved Xu Xiang Dong and Dicky Cheung fighting each other. Xu Xiang Dong was arranged to use the Eagle Claw attack on Dicky's private parts, but he accidently attacked him for real. Dicky laughed and said "Although I have filmed many martial art productions but this is the first time I have been attacked by an enemy in the private parts area, the feeling felt awkward and I became red in the face. Filming these scenes and getting attacked in that area, I couldn't resist but yell out loud. Later Xu Xiang Dong apologised to me. After resting, there was no serious injury so I was able to relax".

Does anybody have news about his new series Master Wong Fei Hung? it was on pre-order at Yesasia but they took it down.

Dating for over 10 years, Edmond Leung and Karen Lam tied the knot a night ago. Although the couple did not have "the wedding of the century" and although the bride did not wear the most luxurious jewelry they, however, did have friendship as countless industry stars showed up at their wedding making it a "star-studded wedding."

To give his wife the best wedding possible, Edmond invited Dicky Cheung and Eric Tsang to be the MCs of the night. Edmond's "brothers" William So, Andy Hui and Eason Chan performed for the couple as William performed Love, Andy performed 唯獨你是不可取替 and Eason performed 明年今日. Edmond, who earlier said he wouldn't perform during the night, ended up performing 太太 太太. Edmond thanked William So for helping him with his tuxedo, Denise Ho's father for his help and Paco Wong for the 8 crates of wine.

Dicky Cheung gives up smoking to have another baby

Dicky Cheung and Jess Zhang are getting married next Monday at St. Augustine Church in the Philipines. The two went there separetely, one from Hong Kong and the other one from the mainland China. Dicky left Hong Kong first thing in the morning and he was in a good mood. He teased hinself for getting there first. He kept singing "No freedom, lost freedom"

Jess left Beijing too, but her nephew suddenly had flu so he cannot be the pageboy. Not only that, her sister's whole family can't attend the wedding either. Jess has to find someone at the last minute to be bridesmaid and best man too.

Dicky told reporters he couldn't sleep the night before becuase he was worried that he might forget something. As he was about to leave for the airport, he almost forgot to take the wedding ring along. His good friend Sammi Cheng, Andy Hui, Deborah, Chiu Suet-Yin, Edmond and his wife will be leaving Hong Kong tomorrow. Speaking about Andy's ex (Sammi) is coming along, but not his new girl friend, Dicky responded "I don't think she is coming. I have arranged Andy to share a room with Au Yeung Tak Fan and Andy will be sitting next to Han Hung." There will be over 100 guests attending the wedding. It is estimated the wedding would costs over $5,000,000 HKD. Dicky said "The wedding is very sacred and money is not an issue. We get a lot of sponsors from friends therefore the cost of will not be as great as the media has reported."

Dicky was asked if he would follow the Chinese tradition of having the bridsmaid and the "sisters" at the door to block the groom to get in unless a big packet is paid. !@#$ said " We have not prepared for it, but we have booked to stay in the same room, so we will comsumate before our wedding night." Dicky has a surprise for his wife; that is he is giving up smoking. " I have asked the doctor to give me 3 months medication to help me giving up smoking, hopefully it will help next time we have another baby."

Dicky said he has bought property in Beijing in his wife's name. "My wife usually spends more time in the mainland. She wants to have a family. In the mainland she will stay with her parents. If she is in Hong Kong, she will stay with my mom." Dicky admitted of having a row with his wife earlier on when they were preparing for the wedding. It was so bad that at one point, they nearly called the wedding off. "I know it's my fault, I was so sorry. I didn't want to lose this perfect marriage."

Finally after nine years of courtship and one year of registered marriage, Hong Kong TV celebrity Dickie Cheung and actress Zhang Qian will have a formal wedding ceremony to mark the occasion in the Philippines on January 12.

The local government has extended a warm welcome to the two, in particular to Zhang Qian, who was tourism ambassador to the Philippines last year. With assistance from the authorities, the ceremony will be held in the 400-year-old San Agustin Church in Manila, and is set to end off with a large firework display, Cheung told the Ming Pao Weekly.

China's Popular TV hosts Li Jing and Dai Jun will emcee the ceremony.

The couple has invited nearly 200 guests to this all-expenses-paid event, Cheung says.

Decked out in local traditional wedding dress, the two lovebirds had a pre-wedding photo shoot on Saturday at the exclusive Club Punta Fuego in Batangas, a port city near Manila. Their outfits were provided by the Philippine Tourism Authority and were designed by a local designer using pineapple fibers, reported the sina.com.

Dickie Cheung and Zhang Qian started dating in 1999 as co-stars on the TV serial "The Legend of Chen Mengji". Zhang Qian was reported to be pregnant in mid-2007 but had a miscarriage in her eighth month of pregnancy in early 2008.
