Fala chen-I think TVB has given her so many oppotunities to shine. She is one of my fav. TVB new actress. However, I think she was overly promoted. Many actresses in the past few years had tried twice as hard to now being placed as 2nd lead or even 3rd. But their roles aren't any special or worth to be called lead. Fala has only been in the entertainment for less than 3 years and already achieved such a strong position. We can tell by looking at TVB 41st anniversary's position stand. She was placed on the roll with many big sister such as Myolie, Bernice, Tavia etc... who already in the entertainment for over 9 years. Also, she received the best supporting actress award which Tavia still haven't receive. Talking about appearance, she's very pretty. I guess she's prettier than any of the TVB's actresses old and young IMO. She's tall, bright, gorgeous, nice body, educated, and won Miss Chinese International 2005. Of course TVB shouldn't miss out such a beauty. But talking about acting barrier, I think she's not ready yet to be one of the big sister (not veteran). She also has many scandals, rumours and news. I guess TVB isn't suit for her. I rather have her act in a movie, she sure would shine and get lot more chances to be famous. Not like TVB is small but i just feel like movie is for her. Not like I hate her, I like her but I think she's more suitable for movies because in TVB, you have to have real potential but in movie, it's mostly about luck or you have to look famous. You have to look big and stars. She's way too stars for TVB IMO

As for Linda, I'm not gonna even mention about her. She's way too promoted. TVB just loves her so much. She's like Fala, pretty but not eligable to be called big sister yet. Maybe in a couple of years but now she's still not ready. But I guess TVB just love her too much and let her be the big sister already. She's really lucky huh..

I think Fala is a little over-promoted, she's been giving a lot of opportunities ever since her first series that I have seen her in and that's "Heart of Greed." Next she's attending more functions and we see her a series more often. Even though her roles are only supporting actresses, but she's played a lot of them.

As for Linda, I don't think she's being overly-promoted. She is improving along her way. Yes, she's been given a lot of chances and opportunites for things like recently releasing her own album, but I'm happy for her. Maybe because I'm her fan. But I think Linda really deserves it. She's been working so hard.

I agree that Linda's wayy overpromoted. I'm not sure how many series she has and how many Fala has, but in her series she is almost always lead actress or second lead while Fala plays like 2nd, 3rd, or 4th leads. I don't mind seeing Fala because I agree that she's gorgeous and she plays different types of roles, like how in the beginning she acted a lot of "sl*tty" roles, and most recently in MR she played a mute girl. However, I get annoyed at seeing Linda Chung b/cus she's always the good girl.

i believe Linda is over-promoted and over-rated. i think she needs massive improvements or take some acting classes. as for fala she is heavily promoted but not over because i do see great improvements and given a lot of well-written roles!

as we are on the subject, i want to state that TAVIA is not favored by TVB at all!!!!

I think that Linda is way over promoted by tvb, there has been sooo much dramas with her this year and I really starting to get sick of her. Especially when her acting still needs improvement.

For Fala, I personally like her more because she doesn't always get the goody good characters(like linda) but also tries unlikable characters too and she does a pretty good job at it.

I think Kate should be added to the list too because she's being way overpromoted too..

Linda and Fala definitely are overpromoted. I don't think they have the potential to be leading ladies yet-the acting is not the greatest. Fala annoyed me to no end in Steps-I think she has a speech problem or something, she really doesn't speak clearly and its not pretty to watch.

I don't think Fala is getting OVERLY promoted. Just that when you have such potential and she have gained alot of fame ever since her first series with such good looks and a gorgeous body, you know you will gain some nice support =). I dont find her acting bad at all either, she is slowly progressing into a star but I do have to agree that if she was to film in movies, she would hit stardom instanteously especially if you throw her into a hollywood film.

Linda Chung, I was never a fan of hers until the series Heart of Greed and have seen multiple series that she have participated in. I don't think she is OVERLY promoted either, just getting promoted more than others. The only problem is, she is somewhat like Shirly Yeung that she have only played the good characters(shirley played one evil character and that was in BOL). I would like to see her play a different role for once though.

Fala definitely not as promoted as Linda. The roles she get are just minor ones, she doesnt have a lead role up to date. There's nothing wrong with her speech now, 3yrs ago, when she entered the industry, she couldnt speak cantonese fluently. She has been taking lessons thus her cantonese is so much better.

i dont find that they are being promoted as much as kate tsui
last year when she wont the most improve actress she didnt really improve much her acting still is not good enough but she has improve in her recent role in moonlight.

i really think that both of them are overly promoted..there are too many series for them esp linda..after moonlight then came the legend of demigods then now came the gems of life..

I think they both are. People seem to be under the impression that Linda is being more promoted than Fala because Linda herself has more leading roles. This isn't necessary true. Fala has definitely been given a lot of opportunities. I'm sure TVB would give Fala more leading roles if her Chinese is as good as Linda. Also, Linda's image is better than hers, another reason why Linda has more leading roles.

Fala has good looks and everything ad her Cantonese has improved, so she'll get some leading roles eventually. But compared to others with similar backgrounds as her, Fala is definitely more promoted. You don't see this is the case for people like Selena Li, Mandy Cho, etc.

Moonlight Resonance has been a great help to Fala Chen. People who didn't like her before are liking her more after her appearance in this series.

Sigh. It sucks to see Fala and Linda get bigger and better opportunities than the people who worked even longer and harder than them. I'm not saying they don't work hard, because I can see they're improving, but honestly! If you compare them to other actresses such as Tavia, Bernice or Leila, they have a long way to go before they should be given a lead role.

I just hope one day TVB will see the potential of OTHER actresses, rather than focusing on a couple

Well, I think TVB seems to favor them a lot, but I also think they deserve their recognition. I mean they have the look, body, potential and background(as miss chinese and stuffz). They're some of the few young actresses in TVB that have high qualities IMO, esp. Fala. I gotta agree that she's stunningly gorgeous! I haven't seen many h.k actresses nowaday as gorgeous as she is. She also has this sexy and feminine body that makes her look good in any outfit...which is another plus. She also showed potential in her very first drama, and now constantly showing improvement. So yeah, it's pretty understandable that TVB promoted them. I would rather seeing them(well, more of Fala) 'everywhere' than seeing others such as Kate Tsui...etc...

Fala is being promoted the RIGHT way. She's been given supporting roles (she has no lead roles yet) and it's a good start to her career. She even played the sl*tty third party for a few times. We are seeing how her acting is improving.

As for Linda, it's just another case of TVB shoving what they like into the audience's face.

I felt TVB love to promoted those beauty contest winners.
Linda n Fala were one. Yet those who can really acted like Leila Tong, Tavia Yeung they aren't that promoted. Though Leila wasn't TVB's contracted.

But Linda I was kind of not tad fond to see her always last time as she has really many production coming out. Same as Fala, though she's always the 2nd or 3rd lead, but u'll always get to see her in most drama nowadays. Okay, their acting is watchable but I agree that they're still not be able to compare up to Ah Jie's position. They're still young, alot to learn more anyway.

I think at the beginning that they were both overly promoted, but i think Linda has improved a lot now and deserves a strong position, Fala is improving, but she can do better which she will if she gets more opportunties

as for linda i am speechless, she's just everywhere! tvb tries to promote her in everyway, from acting to singing ugh!!!! their must be something suspicious behind it, she might had gave them something good in return as they promoting her

i think Linda is overly promoted..first off i don't think she can act like the one where she was paired up with Steven where she was a tough street girl..well everyone can aggree and say in that series her acting was horrible..it looked so fake and Fala i think she is overly promioted but she can definitley act...

Ah....yeah....I think Linda is overly promoted. I don't want to offend anyone, but I don't think Linda can act or sing even though I think she is better looking than most actresses. But like for Fala, not really....she doesn't even get the main role.

I understood from the MR casts that Linda can act very well...but in my opinion, not so. Relatively ok, improving over the years but not as wonderful as was said.
Fala is not bad and rather pleasant to look at too ... but yes, she doesn't seem to get the major roles.

Linda is waaaay overpromoted, why do they keep shoving her face on to our screens, when shes not all that? I mean shes not that pretty and all shes good at are the goody girl roles and crying! Now shes branching into the music industry, she doesn't even sing that well, her vocals are limited, she should improve on her acting skills first, one step at a time!

Fala on the other hand is a versatile and way prettier actress than Linda but she doen't get the same level of recognition as her, why? If anything, it should be the other way round!

just giving her a chance? she has like 293403940349 million more chances than other actresses. Fala had never even got a leading role... and if we're speaking leading role wise, linda has more experience than tavia since TVB puts her as lead in just about every series. so she problaly has more screen time overall than tavia too... and yet her acting is not even half of Tavia's acting. Fala, who's newer than Linda, is wayy better than she is.

I think she's a pretty good actress and singer, she has the
talent, so therefore I guess TVB gives her more chances.
And Fala is also improving on her acting skills and her speech :]
Of course there are going to be people that get more chances
in life than others, but what can we do? It's very HARD to
act good and try to get audiences to accept them, like them, and support them..
so i think people have to stop judging every single actor & actress.
It's a very tough job for them..so much pressure and all.

im starting to have a disliking for tvb because they prmotoe linda way to damn much. the girl isnt even that good.

I wonder if TVB ever considers what the audience wants to see. Are they so foolish to believe that one will not get sick of seeing the same actress repeatedly throughout the year? They make it seem as though they're out of actresses/actors. I am tired of seeing Linda Chung in series after series, especially when she is no phenomenal actress. Yes, she did improve but that doesn't give TVB the reason to over promote her. It's so excessive how they're trying to make her into a fa dan. She doesn't have the abilities yet.

Fala on the other hand is a likable actress. Drastic improvement is seen since her first series, which I remember I dreaded her in. Now, I love her performances. She really touched me in Moonlight Resonance as a mute girl. Her acting surpasses Linda, and it surprises me that she hasn't gotten a lead role yet. Hopefully the new Laughing gor movie will give her a boast.
