Jessica had exchanged love for career, Jessica is waiting for her prince charming
ATV had major changes after a new manager rose to position and there were endless rumours on ATV persuading workers of rival firm to job jump. Jessica was one of those in the consideration list of ATV. Since signing per series contract at Oct 2006, her position as no. 1 female artiste had been shaking and she wasn’t even invited into TVB anniversary. Lai Chi and Charmaine were being promoted aggressively and its no wonder that ATV targeted Jessica.
Now, Jessica never considered about star jumping and no one would know what the future holds. Jessica is still working for TVB and her contract would end in 2010. However, tabloids wrote like she could work for ATV almost immediately.

Jessica admitted that some enquired her manager on the termination date of her contract and Jessica’s attitude on continuing her contract with TVB. Actually, there was no contact between the management from rival companies and her. Outsiders should not be too sensitive, as interest in her contract had been raised for many years.

Jessica was popularly known as one who would not strive purely for money as her ideal is happiness. Her first job after graduation was an actor and it was joyful during the 14 years. After getting satisfaction in both her work and monetary terms, Jessica got her own dream house. She mentioned, “Since young, my mother taught me that property was the safest investment. Even when there is an economic downturn, you would still have a cover over your head. After saving and searching for many years, I finally bought my dream house 3 years ago. I had considered getting one more property but I feel that it was tough maintain two properties at a go. I do not wish to do jobs that I don’t like for the sake of money and would not practice it if I were given a choice.”

There’s no such thing as a good guy in this world
Jessica participated in the making of the drive of life recently and she mentioned that filming it was the greatest pressure she experienced in the 14 years of her career. When they were attending the costume fitting session, Damien teased Huang Shu Yi (hanyupinyin), Raymond and her seriously and all discussed about methods to bring out the feel of a family. Jessica praised the decision of selecting Damien Lau to be the leading character in the plot. Damien taught her on handling relationships between people and earning money during the 6 months that they worked together.
In Jessica’s eyes, Damien was a perfect man but Damien mentioned that there was no such thing as a good person in this world. She felt that Damien exaggerated and there would be a good man. The problem was with their quantity and it further aggravated the problem by the fact that there are more females than males in Hong Kong. Hence, Jessica should cherish him when she meets one.
“Sometimes, man are contradictive. One cannot achieve both career and love and I understood this theory ever since I entered the industry. I asked myself this question when I encountered a rare opportunity. In the end, I chose career. If I had chosen love, I would encounter another situation now.”

Jessica does not long for popular guys
Jessica hoped for a responsible, compassionate, humorous and caring (for her family and dogs) man to be her spouse and his looks do not matter. She used white horse and brown horse as example to prove her point. Many females would wish for their prince charming riding a white horse and it might not be abstain from distractions of the opposite sex. However, the brown horse is purer without some much attention from girls. Jessica warned readers to be careful of the handsome guys as there were too many temptations in the world. The determination in males is weaker than female. Hence, it is difficult to maintain a relationship and we cannot marry for the sake of marrying.

Jessica was busy with the filming of “Healing Soulsâ€? in China and would only return and stay in Hong Kong for a night. As she had promised to do a cover page shot for Suddenly Weekly, her manager phoned them on a Tuesday. The reporter immediately went to borrow some outfits for shooting on the next day. The photography session was completed on Wednesday and Jessica proceeded to China to continue filming that night. The precious one-day break was given to “Me!â€? exclusively. The reporter’s impression of Jessica was a famous actress from TVB and had previous records of troubles. Her appearance that day changed the opinion of the reporter towards her from troublesome to straightforward and neat.



Straightforward
The reporter felt that readers would be familiar with her series and classic works given her fame and he was afraid that he would mention incorrect facts as he seldom watch television programmes. He chose to ask Jessica on tips of being beautiful, and unexpectedly, Jessica answered, “Did you do any research on me before interviewing me?â€? Her tone was not harsh; however, the reporter was stunned. It would be bad to admit the truth and it is worse to lie. The reporter experienced Jessica’s candidness through the fact that he did not do his homework.

There should be little opposition when we conclude that Jessica is straightforward. As the reporter was caught red-handed not doing any research, he asked her on the titles of works that she was satisfied. “I was satisfied with Golden Faith and gave myself 95 marks. Other shows like Detective Investigation Files IV and Life Made Simple are OK. However, none of the shows relied on the female lead to bring out the whole story. Flow with Fate
Jessica was plain when she spoke which was very different from the previous entertainment tabloids that alleged wars between female artistes. “My mentality had changed and I reduced the total number of shows filmed in these recent years. I changed my contract with TVB to ‘per series’ lest a continual filming of shows. On the extreme end, my career is nothing compared to family, friends and love. Now, I would have a holiday in Hong Kong whenever it is possible to return to my dogs and cherish the time I had with them.â€?

We know that Jessica appreciated dogs. What about humans? Both relationships that were known to public almost made it onto the red carpet. Does Jessica wish to marry badly now? “I admit that I exceeded the optimum age of marriage and I had experienced the period of time where I longed for marriage. There would be a reason to a breakup in my previous relationships- either we were incompatible or we were immature. Since we already made the decision to no sound the wedding bells, I would not marry for the sake of marrying when I am more mature now. The old saying goes, “leave everything to fate!�

Jessica had softened up a lot. Previously, she would ignore or reprimand reporters who asked questions that she was not interested in. Now, she would answer, “I had little interest in it. If you insist on asking the question, I would answer.� Jessica mentioned that clothing and fashion wear was part of her job, and there was no such thing as pursuing. The most common type of clothing that Jessica had was jeans, followed by flat-soled shoes. There were around 10 pairs in her closet and she need not purchase more as she had enough. High heels were meant for work and she was not so stupid to torture her legs in her leisure time. She was not precise about their brand.

Ten tables were reserved and over two dozen audience members were invited. Since the rest of the cast were already involved in filming other projects, many of them were unable to appear at the dinner.

Later, Jessica will be heading to Taiwan with Bowie Lam and Roger Kwok to shoot for TVB's 2008 calendar. Then, she will go to Qingdao and Singapore to film a series with Francis Ng Chun Yu.

Although Jessica was no longer a TVB contracted artist, her star power was obvious as she was still featured in the 2008 calendar. Jessica said, "The TVB calendar is targeted towards overseas audiences. I have been featured in the calendar for the last 10 years. Although I have been in the industry for more than a decade, there is still overseas market interest. Many thanks to the audience for their support!"

Jessica spent 7 months filming "The Drive of Life" and admitted that it was a very grueling schedule. The dinner event will be Jessica's last promotional appearance for the series.

Regarding the ratings for "The Drive of Life," Jessica felt that ratings in the 30's were not bad. She was not overly concerned about ratings, but cared more about the audience's feedback. It was a good thing that audiences pointed out Jessica's character was different from her past roles.

Jessica Hsuan Celebrates 37th Birthday with Fans
Earlier, Jessica Hsuan celebrated her 37th birthday with over 100 fans. The fans came from all over the world and the atmosphere was extremely lively. Jessica was moved that there were several fans who have supported her over the last 14 years. They also raised money to help homeless animals. Jessica smiled and said this was the best gift from her fans.

Jessica will always set aside time for her fans no matter how hectic her schedule is. Jessica sang a song at the celebration party and gave out gifts to fans. Jessica also took photos and signed autographs for her fans.

Jessica's fans compiled video clips of her past series and added music to the slideshow. Jessica tried to bite back tears of happiness, but she ended up crying nevertheless.

Knowing that Jessica loves dogs, her fans gave her a piggy bank with $5,000 (HKD) in it. Their goal was to give the donation under Jessica's name to help homeless dogs.

Jessica Hsuan's Future Plans

Jessica starred as a simple girl who was stuck between her father and lover in the Drive of Life, which was very different from the Jessica who is very clear of her directions on her road of love in reality.

Jessica did not have any love encounters recently but she is going select her boyfriend carefully. Jessica mentioned, “Now, I would prefer to be lacking of love than have an excess of it. Actually, there is someone interested in me outside the entertainment industry. I will think of trying it previously but now I will only start dating if I had a strong feeling towards him. Although I have this change in mentality, I had always hoped that the person I am dating would be the choice on my marriage.”

Happy Things in Life
Most of Jessica’s friends were married and were parents, which caused a change in her attitude towards children. Jessica commented, “After getting along with children, I have found out that I am capable of looking after children. However, the responsibility of having a child is too heavy as I worry about the problems on environment and education. As for now, I will not ponder too much about it.”

Jessica did not want to think too deep into her love life and focused on her career. The Drive of Life is the first show Jessica filmed after she signed the ‘per series’ contract with TVB. The ratings of the show were average despite the high regards for the show, Jessica commented, “As an actor, I would certainly have some hopes on the Drive of Life. As this is collaboration with CCTV, I am more concerned about the feedback from viewers than the ratings. I disliked my character in the Drive of Life during filming as she was more stupid and different with my own characteristics.”

Jessica felt that the best reward from the filming of the Drive of Life was the opportunity to work with Damien Lau; Jessica stated, “The happiest thing in life was cooperating with Damien Lau. I liked him and felt that he is gaining charisma. I learnt many things on acting and life from him.”

Enjoying Life
Jessica also learnt the way of enjoying life from Jackie Lui, she commented, “I know how to balance my life now. This August, I filmed a show in China and went on to tour Japan with my friends. I am resting now and would fly to Singapore in October to work on an English sitcom. I planned to go skiing at the start of next year; and film another show in Feb and March. My work and break are alternative. I only knew how to slog for my career in the past and learnt to allocate my time to my family and friends now. I would no longer grab hold of all opportunities in front of me and will not force myself onto things.”

Jessica Hsuan Comments on 6 Males; Sighs She has no Luck in love

“I felt that she’s too foolish for me to take it.” Jessica admitted that playing the character that was blinded by love made her frustrated in the filming scenes.

“As I was accustomed to my lively self, I had to constantly remind myself to me gentler and slower when I was talking in the character.” Jessica joked.

Not long ago, there were rumours about Jessica leaving the filming area angrily when Raymond was late in the making of the Drive of Life. There were also speculations on Jessica ‘bullying’ Raymond. When asked about that, Jessica replied plainly, “Some magazines need to find a scapegoat to report on and I cannot help it.” Jessica also mentioned that she was not sure if Raymond was always late as they had few scenes together.

In the show, Jessica was sandwiched between Joe and Damien. Jessica commented on Joe, “We were very close as we had worked together for 4 times. He was a comfortable counterpart. He would do his homework before filming and arrive punctually for the shooting. Hence, the filming was smooth-sailing.”

Jessica compared the male artistes that she had worked with and her verdict was that Louis gave her the feeling of “Love”, Gallen was “thoughtful”, Joe was “comfortable” and Bobby was “wild”.

Jessica emphasized that she would not fall in love with her partners in shows but the characters that they were starring as and she would be out of it once she leaves the filming area.

Jessica had several opportunities to be in the same scene as Damien. When asked if she was pressurised by it, Jessica mentioned, “No. On the other hand, Damien told me that he felt stressed when he sees me.” As the actors did not have any contact with each other before the filming of the Drive of Life, it was a completely new experience for them to know new people in the process of the making of the show. In the new environment, Damien was stressed and would feel anxious when he saw her. Jessica joked that Damien was gaining charisma as he aged and they were good friends after some interaction.

“Actually, Damien and I were like father and daughter, with similar characteristics. He would also teach me the way of life.”

Going to Singapore to film at the end of the year

He had another form of charisma and had the feeling of a son from a rich family.”

Jessica Hsuan Stressed when Filming in English

Jessica Hsuan, Ana R and Lisa S were at Thursday night’s opening ceremony of a Michelle watch store. Jessica, who has not made an appearance at a public event for quite a while, called for everyone to play games but when people heard this, they immediately walked away, making the scene very hilarious. The actress has just come back from filming an English skit comedy in Singapore. Bobby Au Yeung & Jessica Hsuan join together for Dinner Reunion

Yesterday Bobby Au Yeung, his manager and Jessica Hsuan joined together at TVB's dining room for an end of the year dinner reunion. Because Bobby is currently working on new series 《尖子攻略》, everyone accommodated him to have their dinner gathering in the company's dinning room, they planned for 'hot pot' that night. Jessica was responsible for buying the foods for hot pot. She brought American steak, abalone, veggies and many more. Too bad in the end, they were stopped by the dinning room staff, saying that hot pot is a fire hazard and is against the dining fire safety rules. Jessica was disappointed as she hoped to have a simple dinner reunion with friends. She was also worried that Bobby wouldn't have anything to eat because he had to work, maybe can ask the kitchen staff to help them cook up something. But nevertheless, it still spoiled the fun.

Coincidentally Kiki Sheung was at the dining room having dinner, it turns out that Kiki jie had an electric stove that they could borrow. After asking her, Jessica was extremely happy, when Bobby came in and found out that they borrowed the stove from Kiki, he laughs that this time theres kind hearted people in the world. If you are friendly to others, then they will also be friendly to you. He was very touched that Jessica planned the whole reunion dinner for him, then he gave her a kiss. Besides playing tricks on her, he laughs asking her how long since she was kissed by a man? Hope this year she can find a strong man who's skilled with literature. Jessica doesn't know if she should be mad or happy (laugh). Bobby still doesn't let Jessica go, afterwards they 'fork fought' to open the cans of abalone, he laughs and asks Jessica, "It's your abalone? Your abalone is coming out, let's eat together!" Jessica was out of control and seemed a bit awkward.

Jessica also reveals that yesterday she went to Canada to ski, this time she went with her old school mate. She says that she has not been on this kind of trip for many years. This year she especially rejects work, rejects the money just for play. She also hopes that she can meet a "leng jai" (handsome) ski instructor!
