Ron Ng, Toby Leung, Louisa So and Akina Hong attended a promotional event for series "Men in Pain" yesterday, joining some couples in therapy to play games and enjoy each others company. Akina arrived at the event wearing a low cut V top that also revealed her midriff, becoming the focal point for the press and stealing the show completely from the leading roles. When Toby noticed her half way through an interview, her eyes widened as she exclaimed: "Wow! Very sexy!"

Accused of 'capitalising on her assets', Akina replied flirtatiously: "Don't say that, you make it sound so horrible. (You are stealing the limelight?) Thanks for saying that, but I won a little bit of money on the football yesterday, so I am just quite happy and celebratory today. The show is doing well also, so I should wear something prettier to give you all some photos, especially as I have lost weight lately, (Your bust size hasn't changed?) Haha! Of course, I have a secret way to do this!" As there were some older people at the event yesterday, she was asked if she was worried she would scare them. Akina laughs: "They have experienced it and see the world and there are people with better figures than me that they have seen before, so I am just small fry." As for wearing a jacket during the games, she says the aircon was too cold.

As one of the leading stars, Louisa's limelight was somewhat shadowed by Akina and she says that she has already give up, laughing: "I don't mind, she is just promoting the series and the most important thing is that she is happy." Then she said in a louder voice: "Thanks for your hard work Akina!" Asked if she feels she has lost out, Louisa says: "I don't mind, I am a pacifist and don't like fighting." Toby had originally planned to wear a tube top, but as she is suffering slightly from a cold, she changed her mind. Asked if she feels that she has lost out to Akina, she says graciously: "I don't have as good a figure as her. Even if I did, I wouldn't necessarily show it off like this." As for the series reaching a high of 36 points, Toby says she is very happy about this and if it reaches 39 points, she will take everyone out for dinner.

As soon as Ron arrived, he darted into the toilets and it turned out that he has been suffering from lack of sleep and exhaustion, so he has had stomachache and cramps, even having to take a day off on one day. As for the series reaching an average of 35 points, he says that he is confident that the show will keep this good standard. As for Toby's pledge for dinner, he says: "I will take them out again after she has, no matter what the ratings are, I will take them out."

As I watch the game show, I have no idea about the answers to any of those questions. You have to know a lot about Hong Kong culture, background, language, history and some other medical or social issues in order to know some of the answers. For example, a hard question can be: Inside the Velvet, which part is very useful. The choice include: the top part or the bottom part.

Yesterday was the birthday of TVB's Production Resource Department Deputy Director Virginia Lok Yee Ling and the previous evening, a special party was held for her at the old Shaw Brothers Studios, attended by TVB executives including Ms Mona Fong, Stephen Chan and Catherine Tsang. Other guests included the company's popular stars such as Gigi Lai, Kevin Cheng and Bernice Liu. Ms Lok did not want the artistes to spend any money on her, so she had previously indicated that it was just a departmental dinner.

Ms Lok wore a strappy dress to the event, where she joined Gigi and Ron Ng on the stage to sing celebratory songs. Asked what her birthday wish was,she says she hopes to continue to have the blessings from God: "I also hope that all casts and crews are healthy and happy as they progress together."

no Offense to Ron Ng lovers but I don't think Ron Ng is taht hot, and he can't sing nor can he act. But I still like him because he is cute in a way i guess...

His songs from the album are good. Different genres in there. There are a few songs there that i consider better than "dont blame her" but thats only my own views.

Bout the Don't Blame her song... I like that slower version one too...the remix one sounds a bit funny... and it doesnt really tie in with the lyrics... I mean usually sad songs are slow right?

Ron also did sing a Olympic Song... I think it was with Raymond, Bosco, Sam, and this other dude... can't remember... n e ways he sang alot of songs.... I liked his acting in the Academy...well... the role he was playing was knda stupid I meant the character's personalty and the way he thinks is stupid but the way how Ron ng actually could take the form of it and in a very good way as well...

I also liked the Series... this was a long time ago but.. I still like ... it was The Twins of Brothers... that was GOOD!

He was in other films such as Revolving Doors of Vengeance, Guts of Man, and other series that I forgot the name at the moment.

I saw that wedding clip with him and Toby and I must agree with the others that said so that they really don't match. I can't see the chemistry, at all. I wouldn't understand why there is rumors between them and really don't know why TVB casted her.=/

TVB held its costume fitting for the "The Academy 2." The title for the sequel will be 《學警出更》(loose translation: "Police Cadets on the Beat").

The cast includes Michael Tao, Sonija Kwok, Ron Ng Cheuk Hei, Sammul Chan King Fung, Joey Yung Cho Yi, Deep Ng, Kenny Kwan, Yan Ng Yat Yin, Kate Tsui, Winnie Shum, Charles Szeto, Ellesmere Choi, Tang Chi Fung, Power Chan, Chan Hoi Yee, Lee Ka Sing, Florence Kwok, Chin Ka Lok, Selena Li, Gordan Liu, Wai Ying Hung, Lai Suen, Lo Koon Lan.

Ron, Sammul, and Deep will be playing their old characters again. Tavia Yeung Yi and Fiona Sit will guest star only in the first few episodes, playing their old characters as well. Tavia's character will leave for Japan to pursue her education, as a result leading to a new love relationship between Ron and Joey.

As for Fiona's character, she will suffer a traffic accident and die as a result. Sammul will have a crush on Sonija's character.

It has been 3 years since Joey Yung has filmed for TVB. Since Joey will be collaborating with rumor magnets Ron & Kate, how does she feel? Joey laughed, "I have always been rumor free. When I have time on the set, I will relax or sleep."

Also due to the filming requirements for "The Academy 2," Joey had to reschedule 3 months of work into one month. "I'm about to die!" Since she will be releasing her Mandarin album in July, she will have to fly to Taiwan for some promotional events. When Joey saw Sonija at the event yesterday, they were very chatty with each other, as both had performed at the 2000 Miss HK pageant.

Ron Ng will be once again be working with Kate Tsui, is he worried about more rumors? "It is TVB's decision to partner us again! I am not worried about rumors! Since we have worked together before, we will have more compatibility. The most important thing is to do my best." Since Ron did not cut his hair for the role yet, he did not dare appear in a police uniform.

Sonija Kwok and Michael Tao will be appearing as husband and wife and both will be police officers. Since Sonija's police officer rank is higher than Michael's, they will often have arguments. But the two will reunite despite marital differences.

Wearing a police uniform, Sonija said excitedly, "My childhood dream was to become a policewoman. I also thought of applying to become an officer, but in the end did not submit my form. I will be observing some police officers to understand more of their habits." (Will Sonija's character involve a lot of action scenes?) "My position will be seen more frequently in the office, so there will not be a lot of action scenes."

To suit his policeman image, Michael Tao especially went to the sun tanning salons to darken his skin. He loved his tanned results and vowed that he will never be a paled skinned man anymore!

Michael admitted that he tanned his whole body in the nude, but reporters pointed out, wouldn't the ultra-violet rays weaken his sensitive regions? Michael laughed, "I am not weak; I am very strong!" Michael feels thrilled and honored to be able to collaborate with Sonija on the new series.

Sammul Chan was originally filming overseas for series "Chor Lau Heung," but flew back to HK especially for the costume fitting. Sammul will have to rush back overseas to complete his filming afterwards.

Deep Ng's arm had a scar yesterday. He explained that he had suffered an injury while filming for a movie recently. Deep's character will only be in the series for 5-6 episodes. The script speaks of Deep's character leaving prison and accepting a job as a fitness trainer. He will then go to China to start his own business.

Since Deep was charged with drug possession last time while filming "The Academy," he said, "Last time, I underwent a difficult experience. But it was still happy collaborating with all the actors. I think I will be able to immerse into my character quickly this time too." (Will Deep's character return to the good side this time?) "Yes, as it was last time."

Ng Yat Yin will be playing a character who loves small animals.

***TVB never fail to suprise me whom they would like to promote/sell. But then everyone is entitle to their opinions...so there's always a saying to everything, well in most case heh.

Tavia is one talented and versatile actress TVB has....one of the few that is. And, to think, IMO...Ron has the best chemistry with Tavia and Myolie; to waste her like that is just really negative.

i hope that ron and tavia are going to end up together at the end anyway (maybe ron will go to japan to find tavia?) but it seems kinda weird seeing ron and joey together....ugh...and fiona's gonna die and sammul's going to have a crush on sonija? it seems like things are going to be really awkward in this show...

i heard ron is going to shave his hair into skinhead for the academy. awwwww i like how he is right now, i don't want him to shave his hair.

mmmmm. ron. i just finished the series 'twin of brothers.' it featured raymond WAY more than ron. -sniffle- oh well. he does his kissing scenes REALLY well. it's pretty insane. there is ONE thing i do need to critique him about though. some of the stuff he wears is just such a......turn-off. like, v-necks? -shudder- otherwise, he's pretty much perfect. his singing and acting are definitely improving. he seems so much like the shy type.

anyway, i was on youtube the other day and i searched ron ng. i found his 'don't blame her' video and i fell in love with the song. the guitar part in the intro/ending and throughout the song is really nice. if anyone has the guitar tab for it, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE send it to me. i'm getting my guitar tomorrow so if no one has the tab, i'll see what i can do with it. thanks SO much!

TVB's new series "Cadets on the Beat" was filming yesterday on the streets of Yaumatei and Ron Ng and Sammul Chan donned their policemen's uniforms once again in a scene that tells of them soon after graduation from the Police Training School, meeting with a road rage incident, where Ron has to go and intervene. Ron indicated that the weather is too hot and he is sweating constantly, but he only has one uniform, so he has to avoid body odour by continuously changing his vest underneath. Asked about the recent news of scissors being thrown from apartments in Mongkok and Shamshuipo, injuring people below, Ron says that these incidents are quite scary, but Sammul jokes that they have the protection of their helmets and wearing a police officers uniform should deter people from attacking them.

In the show, Ron will become part of the 'blue caps' or Police Tactical Unit and he says that he was filming earlier near the Scouts Association in Jordan and some passers-by thought he was a real police officer who wanted to give them a ticket and only found out later that they were filming. Sammul indicates that there are many things that they are not allowed to do whilst wearing the police officer's uniform, for example, they are not allowed to drink or eat anything in the streets, because this will affect the image of the police. He says that earlier, he was filming in the deserts of China for an ancient series in 40 degree heat and the worst thing was wearing boots. He is used to the hot weather now, but the humidity in Hong Kong is quite hard to bear and he is glad to be wearing short sleeved clothes for this shot.

A friend of mine just told me that when she went to HK to help out her aunt with makeup thing, on that day, it turns out to be the day where she had to makeup Ron and she told me she was like really close to him but she couldnt take photos of him because she didnt have any batteries left. She's so lucky

hey i have a question. there was a rumor a while back that ron used to be a trouble maker in the streets smoking and wooing{chasing} girls before he was famous. i also heard that one of his girlfriend (maybe he consider it as his ex) helped to pay for his education as a dancer and now ron has gotten rid of her.

I just saw "War and Destiny" and in episode 17 or 18, you could see RON SMILE! HE has the cutest smile too. In the chapter, he was playing golf and he dressed up sooo hot and mature! You guys have to see it!!!
