Well, these are the two most recent young boy bands that I've come to love (meaning their music, but... I'll admit, I love the boys that are in it too! lol).
Both bands are quite talented and have had a lot of fans recently at such a young age.
SHINee has wonderful vocals and lots of dance moves. (as expected from SM groups)


Whereas FT island has wonderful vocals and an awesome band.


Personally, I like them both, but I like FT Island the most. Especially HongKi!! he's so silly and has an awesome voice.

i pick FT ISLAND they really are a unique group playing musical instruments boy groups these generation are more on singing and dancing so i like ft island for their uniqueness.

i also love Oh Wonbin & Choi Minhwan so yeah ft island for me.

i pick FTI! Hongki's vocals are awesome!
FTI are kinda unique compared to other boybands cos they play instruments instead of typical dancing so theyre an actual "band" and have talent....well not saying SHINee don't, but a different kind of talent if u get what i mean
i like FTI's songs and music style better than SHINee's too

FT island all the wayy; there story mv are awesomee; ii LOVEEE " a mans first love with follow him to his grave" really longg titlee but its a GREAT song; and there video was epikk; but veryy sad tho;

I love them both but I'm gonna pick F.T. Island. I've liked them ever since.

I think they shouldn't be compared though since they are famous in their own genre.

I'm not really comparing them. As I've mentioned before, I like both of them for their own unique ways of singing and overall appeal. Just who you prefer more. that's all.

I like them both. FT Island are different as they're arent any idol groups that are rock bands and they've done really really well even with the different genre music.
And SHINee, they're the first group that I've liked from SM (even though i'm starting to like dbsk now) and their dancing is awesome and singing.
They're both hardworking, cute and have great talents.
The only thing is I dont like FT's stylist! I like their debut clothing more than now.

Clearly there aren't many SHINee fans around here.

SHINee is a very versatile group in my opinion. I think this is an advantage of being under SM Entertainment because they tend to get assigned to songs of various genres. Also, SM makes sure their artists are all-rounded in all kinds of areas. Their first album has done relatively well, and better than I have expected, because I thought they would just be another bubblegum pop group. I think as for now, SHINee acquires a competitive advantage over other groups of the same generation because their music is what young fans are interested in currently.

I feel that F.T Island is a little bit unfortunate because they do not get marketed as much compared to pop groups. Plus, there is not much variety among their songs. The good thing is they managed to show their talents in playing instruments, which is not very common among young Korean artists. They garner attention because of their band status rather than as a typical male group. And I know people who are in awe of Min Hwan's being able to play the drums at such a young age.

Singing-wise, both groups possess great vocalists. F.T Island might need to balance the load more equally to all five members instead of frequently depending on Hong Ki. I am glad to see Jae Jin and Won Bin starting to get more lines in their recent songs.

SHINee, previously i saw them sing DBSK's mirotic and i reckon they were awesome, possibly can pull off any song.

Whereas FT island is a wonderful talented band, so many instruments they can play.

I prefer FT Island the most, why?

Vocal - they have it
Talents - they have it
Looks - they have it
Personality - they have it
Songs - they get into my mind and soul

Lastly, they are soooooo cute and hoooooooot!

I think this is a hard one, because I really like both groups and their music/styles are very different. Shinee is so young, fresh, and stylish, while FT Island is so cool, funky, and beautiful. So, I guess in this case, I'll have to pick FT Island They've been around longer, so I know more about them and have a strong connection towards them than I do with Shinee. I also feel that they're very unique since they are an instrumental band

I tried listening to a few FT Island songs but.. kinda got bored ^^; Although I'm sure they are v. talented. They seem pretty funny on Idol World with 2PM. The magnae is cute and Hongki kinda reminds me of Kangin for some reason lol Maybe it's his humour.

At first I didn't really like SHINee, but then in like a few days of their debut I was hooked to Replay. And I totally fell for Key <3 I'm very Key-bias lmao But for a newcomer, they're pretty decent in dancing, singing and stage presence. SM has marketed them well.

they're both from very different genre.
shinee is more of pop and fti is more of rock..

dance wise, shinee.

Both are young and talented yes, but SHINee has more to offer.
I like FTI for their dramatic MV's not their music. (No variety and very predictable)LOL
I've seen alot of "FTI's" on the streets, maybe even better.
So for me, SHINee is a breath of fresh air since I'm not really into boy-bands but SHINee revived my interest for Kpop.

how can you compare the two when they're in different genres.
Shinee is a typical boygroup while FTisland is an instrumental band.

anyway, i pick FTisland.
they have beautiful songs if you really should listen to it.
Hongki had amazing vocals and the other boys can play different intsruments.

it's just so pity how underrated they are

i just realized that SHINee is good too...

FTisland debuted first and has way more experiance than Shinee
and FTI doesnt really have to dance when they sing cuz they have instruments...while shinee dances and sings at the same time...

FT Island does have the whole instrument thing going on but I'm just sadden now that they've already loss a member. It just feels weird now to support them without everyone there. It was even with the songs I liked from SHINee and FT Island but in the end I prefer SHINee's songs. However, Choi Jong Hoon from FT Island would be my favorite out of both groups. I don't really have one from SHINee. I guess I would say...

It's a tie. Can't choose. Really I'm not a big fan of each but I do hope to hear more from both groups. They are both relatively new and young so I'll like to see how they'll grow.
