In Gillian's last interview she mentioned she entered the entertainment industry for the betterment of her family. Yes indeed she was model but she had to start somewhere. I chose to listen to her on subjects like this because who knows better than she does right?

It's another radio interview thing. So it's not exactly an event where she can be seen in public. I guess she's going to be there promoting her new plugged song and maybe some more promotions for her stage play etc etc.

Gillian entered the industry not exactly by her own interest. She did not come from a rich background. Her father died when she was 1 year old and her mother was pretty young too and had to work everyday thus had no time to take care of her. She drifted from place to place since she was a very little girl.

And as she said many times before, she entered the industry for the betterment of her family. She wants to take care of her family, kind of like a father figure, financially. She said she has 7 members in her family which depends on her financially. That's quite a burden. lol. But that's something that she chose to do, so I respect that.

But of course as time goes by her interests in this industry grew. Now I'm very positive that she is in this industry simply because she loves and enjoys what she does. It's kind of a road whereas she explores herself more and more as she goes.

Gillian's sister is only a half sister in where her mom remarried due to the fact that Gillian's father died early.

Her sister is still really young and she didn't enter or try to enter the entertainment field.

Her younger sister is just about to get into a middle school. lol. So it's a really huge age difference there.

All of Gillian's family members are very low-key. Gillian herself is low-key too, and she tries her best to protect her family out of the focus of media. It's kind of a trait of their family.

The ticket information is about the one on Sunday afternoon being cancelled. So she only has to do 5 shows now. Somehow I think it's better for her. Both physically and psychologically.

Yeah, I agree that is burden but I'm sure she don't mind considering her mother worked several jobs to support her. I didn't know there was seven members she was supporting. Commercial Radio celebrated its 50th anniversary at the Hong Kong Inter-Continental Hotel yesterday. Nearly one hundred artists attended the event included Alan Tam, Joey Yung, Charlene Choi (Ah Sa), Jacky Cheung, Denise Ho, Eason Chan, Miriam Yeung, Esther Kwan, The Grasshopper, Niki Chow etc., making it a grand occasion.

Joey and Denise arrived at the hotel the same time, when Joey heard people calling Denise's name, she quickly walked away. Talking about Gillian Chung(Ah Gill) releasing a solo album, Joey said she had met her in the recording studio and found her very well. On the other hand, Charlene Choy will be releasing her next new album "Survivors". Reporter asked Ah Sa is Twins are making record separately? Ah Sa said "Not separately, but working separately for a while, hoping to work together soon." Ah Gill's stage play "Star dad Ya d" will be performed tonight. The two top two executives from Emperor will be watching the play to support her. Joey would be the first to get there, guarding the door to show her support.

Yeah, I know. I'm quite shocked that Charlene is releasing another album already! Now Gillian is saying that she's not sure if she's releasing an album yet. From what I think, I don't think Gillian will be releasing an album this year. There's no way Gillian and Charlene will be promoting SOLO albums at the SAME time. So yup, I don't think Gillian will have an album. But I don't know why Charlene has one so soon, she still has a LOT of movies and series promotions to do..

Gillian did an interview with East weekly and it was so funny how during the beginning of her career Gillian didn't know Mani is her manager and there was once where she actually said to Charlene "why is that woman always following us?" haha

Anyway, apparently Gillian's song written by Mini is actually going to be called 殘酷..which translates to "Brutal"? The song was originally meant to be a Twins song, but they've now made it into a solo song. Not too sure when it's going to be plugged yet, but I think it'll be some time after her stage play?...I wonder if the lyrics posted before are right :S But in the radio interview Gillian also said that she recorded "Living Abroad" when her voice was pretty bad from all the shouting she had to do during the stage play rehearsals...although we still managed to hear her improvements, her high notes could have been better..hope she recorded Mini's song when her voice was better!

About the albums, some people are thinking that maybe EEG might do what they did with two of their newcomers...releasing an album for them at the same time and have one song that they sing as a duet? I read the Yes! magazine interview Charlene did and it said that Charlene was going to release an EP, which means there'll be fewer songs.. normally around 5 songs...I'm not sure though...guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens..

yeah, i just heard the interview and its not confirmed that gillian's releasing a album or not.. but she said after the play she's going to accept movies. and if gillian would accept a drama, i wouldn't want her to accept another mainland drama... i would like to see her in a TVB drama but i highly doubt that.. those neitzens are going to complain complain complain cause they got nothing better to do. but anyways, hopefully for the rest of the year, we'll see more of gillian (;

First, Gillian was supposily going to have a solo album, but now she's saying that it's not planned and now Charlene released another solo song?

Anyway, yeah.. We'll just let EEG plan whatever they're planning. Well there goes our hope of Gillian releasing a solo album. Why would Mani confirm to the public Gillian was releasing an album if Charlene was going to release a mini album. Gillian should be allow to have her own solo album before Twins regroup. I mean, it would only be fair. Maybe there is still hope because cathy mentioned a solo song called "Brutal". I'll wait to see what EEG will do after the play this week.

Regarding her radio interview. I'm glad to hear she will be accepting more movie roles after the play. Can't wait to see what type of roles she will take part in but I'm still waiting on the "Legend of the White Snake". She look so beautiful in those China series. I just hope everything falls through for her. From my understanding they are waiting on SAFT approval to start filming.

Totally agree with Nelly60. Sure hope ah gill does another tv series. Just finished watching all 32 episodes of PLAN A. Loved it! It's a period piece set in 1915 Hong Kong in which Gillian is caught in a love triangle with two brothers, a good one and an evil one. If you haven't seen it and you're a gill fan, then you're really missing out on something special. The plot, acting, wardrobe, sets, etc are all top notch. The only caveat is the voice dubbing, which isn't too bad and tolerable. And then of course there's Gillian. Mere words cannot describe.

P.S. Why are they talking about albums and movies for Gillian when they still haven't released Fantastic Water Babes? I think the last time EEG released any actual product for Gillian was that CNY 2008 Twins/Disney effort in January of last. That's 20 months! This is cruel and unusual punishment! (for Gillian and her fans)

actually these pics i think it's probably from the final full dress rehearsal. i think they probably did a short performance hours before the show, just for the press to have something to write for today.

from my experience HK newspapers stop collecting news (for publishing on next day) before around 6pm everyday. the play started at 8pm so it's impossible for them to update the news this morning.

so just to put it in an easy-to-understand way, say a show being played at 8pm on the 27th, it will have to wait until the afternoon of 28th (for instant news) and 29th morning newspaper to have a full coverage report of it.
this only goes with HK newspapers though. China press releases pictures faster than HK medias but many times they get the information wrong. so for the info part i would just wait for the HK media to release news. but on the pictures part China press is better.

in the play itself gillian's got 5 different wardrobes. the last one that she wears is a white gown and very deep-V (sexy! in short. lol.), according to people who went to see the first show.

the costume designer for the show is Thomas Chan. very famous and expensive costume designer. i'm glad that eeg asked him to do the costume design.

overall gillian seemed to be receiving good reviews although i haven't seen any review from anyone who is not a gillian fan. but the crowd was well reacted throughout the show. gillian did a brilliant job.

gillian was very touched and almost tearful when the play ended and all of the actors came on stage to thank the audience.

glad to see her accomplish the first big night of hers!

bxalann, the first handwriting pic is her original handwriting which was being printed in her play's pamphlet for the part that she puts down some thoughts about the play and about her work. how she felt from the first day she heard about the news that she's doing a play and how she felt when she first met the play's director. how she struggled to get used to being a stage play performer. she says that everyday she tells herself "you can do it!!" LOL.

anyway very proud of her achieving something so tremendous.
