Recently we can see many TVB actors turned to singers, released albums. Such as in 2005 we have Ron Ng, 2006 has Kevin Cheng, 2007 has Raymond Lam, 2008 has Linda Chung, Myolie Wu and Bosco Wong. (the old actor-singer like Gallen, Louis, Bowie, Steven, Chilam, etc. we won't discuss about them).

In 2009, Kate Tsui is confirmed to join music industry. Who else you think will turn to singer?

On the list, I think of:

- Bernice Liu: She has voice, can sing and dance, but TVB has never really give her to music industry. Next year we can hope for her. Chance: 80%.

- Fala Chen: TVB seems wanna send her to music industry. I was kinda surprised cuz Kate joins music industry before Fala. Fala's voice is ok to me, after hearing her singing in MR JSG show (sang Ice Cream). With some practices, she can be in it. Moreover, she has rumor wit the son of NeWay's boss, so I think she'll join NeWay. Chance: 80%.

- Tavia Yeung: TVB gives her some themesongs to sing, and she now sings in the functions, so she might be in the list. The 1st time I listened to her live singing is the 2009 new year countdown show. I can't say that this performance of her is good. As for her themesongs, I think her voice in FTF subtheme is better than ST themesong. Chance: 50%.

- Kenneth Ma: TVB gives him themesongs to sing now. With the promotion of TVB to Kenneth, he might be the next actor-singer. As for his voice, never heard his live performance, just listened to 2 themesongs of him. Personally, I think his voice is kinda general, so not sure about him . Chance: 40%.

- Grace Wong: To be honest, never heard her sing . But she won Strictly go dancing 2. So she can be second Kate Tsui. Chance: 40%.

- Sharon Chan and Vivien Yeo: TVB gave them chance to sing in All about woman, then they forget them. Vivien can have better chance because she has the Miss label. So chance for Vivien is 35% and Sharon is 25%.

- Matthew Ko: He is Mr. HK, he sang in some functions, he can be the next actor tat being promoted by TVB. His chance is 20%.

Tat's the one I think will be promoted to music industry, here are the one I think that can sing but won't have chance to become singer:

- Mimi Lo: Her voice is awesome in the live concert of WOIL in Atlantic. She has beautiful vocal. But she is supporting actress only, so her chance is like 5%.

- Loretta Chow: Remember her? She is 2nd runner up in Miss HK 2007. She has really nice voice. But I wonder where she is... Her song You are my angle in FH2 shows how good her voice is. I hope to see this girl in the music industry.

Bernice: She has the chance. Her singing is quite good for me too.

Fala: No comment because I never heard she sing a song before. Well, she doesn't really have chance because she is not really promoted by TVB. She is staying in supporting role. TVB will never promote those who are staying in supporting role?

Tavia Yeung: Same. Never heard she sings a song before too. I don't think she will become a singer because she just heavily promoted in this year. So, i think she will focus on acting before going to sing.

Kenneth ma: No. I don't think he can be a singer. It's not because of his voice but my feeling that he won't become a singer.

Grace Wong: I've no idea who she is...sorry..

Sharon Chan and Vivien Yeo: Sharon? She will never become a singer. Worse than tavia, she is not promoted by TVB at all. Vivien Yeo. She has chance but not really high.

Matthew Ko & Mimi Lo: The answer is NO. TVB will only promote those are famous and can earn money for them.

Loretta Chow: No idea who she is.

In all the artistes that I mentioned, I only think bernice has the chance to become a singer but the percentage is not really high.

WTH Kate joins music industry? now no talented singer around? Only Bernice can be seen as singer. Rest can't sing.

Charmaine Sheh attended a New Year's Eve function yesterday. She sang 2 songs as entertainment but it appeared that she sang in the wrong key and off pitch. She smiled to hide the embarassment. When asked if she will enter the music industry to join Myolie Wu and Linda Chung? She said singing isn't her strength and just an interest. "Let them sing."

That's what I noticed as well, many Artist from TVB are going into the Music Industry. Makes them look better though.

How about Ron? Before Raymond, Linda, Myolie, Bosco etc, Ron had released his music album, filming MVs, and singing in his music concert. I may think he may turned from actor to singer too as well. And he had mentioned about his music stuffs before.

Ron joined music industry so I dun count him. His EP Fast forward isn't successful but he is still one.


Grace is 1st Runner up and Loretta is 2nd in MHK 2007.

- Bernice Liu: Her singing is good but I thought she was filiming a Hollywood film? TVB haven't gave her any chances to sing yet but I hope they will too.

- Fala Chen: I heard her sing a English song and I think she sings better in English but maybe ..

- Tavia Yeung: Yea, half chance. I think Tavia should focus on her acting not saying it's bad but she has to film PS soon and she plays a villian.

- Kenneth Ma: I think sometimes he distorts his voice like in SL2? I think his voice is okay too.

- Grace Wong: I have never heard her sing but I know who she is. She's a Miss HK right?

- Sharon Chan and Vivien Yeo: Sharon is more like a host now than an actress, I keep seeing her presenting shows. xD Vivien .. I think she should focus on her acting first.

- Matthew Ko: I've never heard him sing haha. xD

Is Sammul Chan already a singer?

I don't really like their singing and I doubt TVB going to promote them to become singer. Maybe they will get promoted as singer later but not this year.

Of all the choices...I think Bernice and Loretta Chow are the only ones that might make it. I don't understand the sudden decision to push Kate into singing. Has she sung any themesongs?

Anyway, Sammul isn't TVB contracted so I doubt they will be promoting him.

bernice already won the newcomer award (jsg) in 2006/2007 so i guess you can say she's already an actress-turn-to-singer, just like ron (he won the newcomer award in 2005/2006). And i think mimi lo is already a singer, she has released an album, i believe in 2008 or 2007, i guess she didn't get the same promotion as linda/myolie/bosco etc.

lydia sum's daughter, Joyce cheng. I think she will become singer soon since TVB keep using her to sing some songs in TVB events.

I agree with you about Bernice most the highest chance. Bernice has a very good voice depsite that she doesn't know Cantonese well. But she has worked hard. Like what Bernice said when she first sung the themesong for "Into Thin Air" (I believe that was her first song too) she was saying how when her friends heard the song, they had no idea who sung it, until Bernice told me, it was her. Even my grandma stated that Bernice sings well. Hoepfully a music company will contract her to be one of their singers.

Yes, bernice was BMA's singer, but dun noe if she is still there now. She got an award for Newcomer's song (?) in JSG, but have never had her own album/EP.

Fala Chen has pretty good voice, I think she is the next one.

Hmmm. Fala has been taking singing classes for 2 years plus, thus she sounds ok when she sings. But I would prefer her to focus on her acting. I have her sing LIVE when she came. She sounded ok.

As for Tavia, she's ok too. But I dont think she should go into singing either.

Mimi Lo. In case you dont know, she's actually a singer before she became an actress. She released her Ep in 1995 and has 8 albums or more, since then....
