Dear people. I like to get some information about Nice and Cannes of France.
I am planning a trip with my parents but I can't explain what it is like over there. I am looking for some travel information in chinese characters about those cities in France

Somebody can place some travel links here for me about the places.

Thanks

I am not sure whether this is too late but due to the huge increase of Chinese tourists, now in many parts of France they have brochures in Chinese, but I think in Strasbourg there isn't but we don't have as much Asian tourist here, actually in Paris I am certain they have because I have been there like two years ago and everywhere they have brochures in Chinese. The only other Asian language brochures they have is in Japanese, which is good for my grandparents. Their first language is Japanese.

I never been to Cannes, but Nice is a very popular vacation spot other than Paris, so they should have brochures in Chinese I think. I was there 3 years ago, but I was with my husband and his friends and they are all French and I don't need a brochure because they are my tour guide...So...

Paris, an irresistible city with a cosmopolitan mixture of charms: Culture, History, Museums, Kitchen, Shops, Markets, Amusements and savoir-vivre. With worldwide known monuments like: The Eiffel tower, The Arc de Triomphe, Les Invalides and the new Grande Arche de La Défense. With beautiful churches like the gothic Notre Dame, and Saint-Chapelle on the Ile de la Cité, The Sacré-Coeur and the magnificent basilisk of Saint-Denis where almost all of the kings were crowned and buried.

I have been to Paris 3 times and I still haven't finished with all the things I wish to see there, it's just so big, and so many things to see.

What I don't like about Paris is there are simply too many people, and it can get very slimy at times, perverts bugging you, ( mainly the Arabs for my case for some reason, I don't know why since I am East Asian and we have no culture similarities with the Arabs).

Parisian is more snobbish than the other French in other provinces, even my husband thinks so and he is French. loool.gif I love the foods and the fashion products, other than that their wines taste great. I also like the architectural construction. yeah.gif

French doesn’t like to be approached directly with English it is better to try to learn a bit of French before going or go with a tour, you might encounter rude Parisian just due to language differences.

If you know French people it's even better to let them take you around, I prefer to go with my husband, that way, I don't encounter weirdoes and people are more polite to you. hug.gif

French language, people, architecture are BEAUTIFUL. Food is average, because there are extremely good ones, and those that aren't so good =P

I have no much impression about France...because i seldom saw them in newspaper. Unless the most recent is about the olympic torch. Well although i am chinese but i have no comment on it. I think maybe French are quite elegant if compare to other races around the world. And the Napolean general is awesome.
That's all from me, a chinese from malaysia(chinese are different throughout places).

Well alot of people have this mindset that the French are proud people. I agree that they are proud of their country, culture, food, etc.. in a good way. I like French language and patisserie biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

I love their lifestyle and culture, like they really know how to enjoy life. Especially, food, everything is fresh and ugh, unpasterized cheese! I also like their fashion, architecture etc! But...I think they are a little too proud so they can seem kinda snobbish.

If you want to go to france try to go outside paris. paris is too commercial. it is just a town with tons of galleries, muzium etc. Want to really experience it. then go to other smaller town in france.

i have tried their food and view some culture. is great, but need to go to France to feel real enviroment

My impression of French people is that they are elegant, sophisticated, tolerant and proud of their culture & heritage. One of my best friends at uni is French and we're like brother and sister to each other. France as a country is alluring, romantic and very beautiful. I've been to Paris and the Côte d’Azur (mainly around Nice) but I would love to take a trip to see the castles and towns of the Loire Valley.

It sounds very cliché but I love the French joie de vivre, especially when it comes to food. Meals should always be a relaxed, enjoyable and social event. I also love the French language, personally I think it is one of the most beautiful languages in the world. I was lucky enough to learn it for three years while I was at school, mais j'ai oublie tout. sad-smiley-065.gif

i was wondering if anyone's gone to the south west of france before. i'll be going in may and is there anything anyone can tell me that wikipedia hasn't already? haha. what's the weather really like? how big of a suitcase should i bring? 1.gif

I don't know what Wiki said but for food you have
-the " cannelé de Bordeaux" ,
- "croquant bordelais",
- les bouchons ( alcoholed chocolate in cork shape),
- duck ( don't think you could find some good foie gras/fat liver in may)
- violette ( candy with the taste of the violet flower)
- macaron
- plum of Agen
-and of course wine

Haha wine is a definite. My sister has been to Paris but never to the south of France but she wants me to bring macarons back to her so I guess your right about those. smile.gif
And my professor said that we might be able to try the foi gras there...so hopefully they'll have it. Is there supposed to be a season for it? LOL
