i think so eun is really pretty! she look damn gorgeous with a simple outfit and straw hat as seen in BOF, and her smile is really sweet.

so eun is really adorable! i actually like her better than hye sun in Boys Before Flowers. her expressions are all spot on & i especially love her clashes with kim bum's yi jung. so eun's chemistry with kim bum is just out of the world & they are the pair i'm rooting for in the drama. i hope the director gives so eun more screentime. she's not only good-looking, she's also a good actress. can anyone forget how adorable she was when she fought with yi jung the first time he brought her to his house & asked her to advise jandi about jun pyo?

^ haha I guess I can kinda agree on how she's better than hye sun in BBF since her expressions are more natural and hye sun's is rather exaggerated. I really like her pairing with Kim Bum too. I hope they can have a happy ending in this version

I seriously LOOVEE So Eun as Jandi's friend and she's becoming even more popular than before for this role. I'm so glad that she was chosen! She's such a cute gal and I can see potential in her! Hope she'll be more popular after BOF! Haha, I love her sweet, sweet smile; it's just so irresistible..!! -cough how can KimBum not fall in love? cough- I'm really looking forward to more of So Eun's furture works! After seeing her in Boys Over Flowers, I'm hoping to catch her in a leading role. I definitely think she has the skills in acting and you can tell she means to get better with each role. She also has a very pretty look to her that is very natural and beautiful. With the popularity of BOF, I have no doubt that she'll rise higher in her career.

New actress Kim So Eun is undoubtedly one of the most popular and talented rising new star in 2009, who has impressed many with her roles in “Empress Chun Chu” and “Boys Before Flowers”, both a KBS drama.

In “Empress Chun Chu“, Kim So Eun plays the younger version of Hwang Bo Soo (older version played by Chae Si Ra), who later became the empress of Goryeo Dynasty. Beginning from episode 2, her vivid portrayal of the leading character has won her a “little Chae Si Ra” nickname. In addition, she also acted as the best friend of Geum Jan Di (Goo Hye Sun) in “Boys Before Flowers“, a childish yet motivated high school girl.

“I feel that I still have a lot of inadequacies. It is a pity, but because of the praises by many, I am now motivated to proceed on. Despite the fact that I have only have scenes for 6 episodes, I have actually learnt horse riding and archery within a span of 3 months. My skin even became callus (thickened) due to the repeat plucking of bowstring for the filming needs,” said Kim So Eun.

Kim So Eun, who usually plays as a teenage or high school girl, has achieved a breakthrough in her acting path with scenes of marriage, giving birth and losing her husband all a requirement for her role. This almost equates to the life experience of a normal adult, except death, probably. Although, she has been turned back to a high school girl in “Boys Before Flowers”, she now portrays the role with ease.

“A queen on the weekend and a normal citizen from Monday to Friday. I have both the loyalty personality of Empress Chun Chu and also the childishness of Chu Ga Eul.”

The way Kim So Eun entered the entertainment industry is pretty unique. During her school days, she once dreamt of being a designer. As her mum had an interest in photography, Kim So Eun was always the model for her mum.

“My parents didn’t really like me studying arts, but instead they wanted me to become an actress. However, due to my persistence of not wanting to become one, I learnt arts during my free time. Now that I’m already an actress, I really think this is my fate.”

Kim So Eun, my current craze, and probably will last for an infinitely long time. Her eyes expression and charming smile are what really captivated me, but of course, she excellent acting skills played a part too. Overall, she just has this innocent “aura” that draws others to her.

Wow, that's rare. Not many parents support their kids being celebrities. People usually have to go against their parents to fulfil their wish. But So Eun was going the opposite way. Interesting.

I am beginning to like her and I think she plays Ka Eul's role very well, out of the three versions of Hana Yori Dango. She is extremely supportive of Jan Di and she could display it genuinely on-screen.

I do see a resemblance between her and Ha Ji Won.

And she's younger than I thought! I thought she and Kim Bum would play the older-female younger-male kinda couple, just like Lee Min Ho and Goo Hye Sun do...

Yup, it is rare to find parents supporting their kids to be celebrities! I'm so glad So Eun took this route. She sounds so sweet from her interviews and there's an article where she picks Jun Pyo's character of YiJung. I suppose Jun Pyo is her ideal type. I love her with straight hair, but wavy hair or GaEul's hairstyle is nice too. Straight hair makes her look more mature but very sweet at the same time!

thank you for the youtube clip jaevia. so eun's such a sweetheart! i liked all her answers. she's such a grounded realistic person though sometimes i think so eun is rather self-critical. she always says she could have performed better. and her replies about 'bummie'.. ahem.. so eun seems to always have that shy smile whenever she talks about kim bum.

i'm watching empress chun chu just for so eun and she's a fabulous actress. honestly.. the part where she hugs the kid who died and cries truly moved me. so eun uses her eyes to her advantage & i guess that's why she makes such a convincing young hwang bo su. it's truly right for netizens to call her 'little chae si ra'. so eun lives up to the name. for those of you who haven't watched empress chun chu, give it a try. so eun is wonderful in it!

guys, did you all know that so eun's going to be in a new movie? the movie is going to be a mystery thriller about two high school students accused wrongly of murder & how they attempt to clear their names. i can't wait to watch it! i'm sure so eun will rock in the movie. it's just too bad that so eun's male lead in her new film is not kim bum. i was looking forward to seeing them together once more. oh yes.. the AnyCall CF was uber cute wasn't it? so eun with those big black glasses was a sight to behold. this girl can make even plain boring black glasses look cute with her charisma.

In KBS Drama "Boys Over Flowers", Kim So Eun played Geum Jan Di's best friend Chu Ga Eul, whose genuine and lively charisma and her refreshing love line with Kim Bum were very well received by fans.

Q. What is the most memorable thing?
A. “Because of BoF "Ga Eul-yang" has become my nickname (laughs). Even though at first I was a little sad about the name, but on one hand after fully absorbing the "Ga Eul" character I felt an intimacy to be called that so I felt happy. Also because I have received so much love with my nickname it has become a precious name to me and my other name. Sometimes even my family and friends would call me "Ga Eul-yang." (laughs)”

A. “In the drama Ga Eul and Yi Jeong's love line differed from the original Japanese work to create a beautiful love, and I was very happy because of that. "Soeul couple" is a pretty name to be coined as... I'm thankful we received so much support and love (laughs).”

No, SoEun was in Sad Love Song MV version ... Where Song Seung Hun was still the cast instead of Yeon Jung Hoon who was casted later after SSH enlist the army ...
