If we tell you the plot then that would ruin everything right? Oh well I'll just spoil it. Well after I watched GRUDGE2 (also watched Grudge 1) ... the story of the girl's death became much clearer. I can't blame the girl for spreading the grudge every where ... the way her mother treater her when she was young was HORRIBLE. Who WOULDN'T hold a grudge against a crazy mom who keeps feeding their kid some weird crap. And that boy died for no reason. So it's understand able why he lingers everything scarying the shiz out of everyone. It like his "spirit" isn't content he wan't revenge for his unfair death. So he can't move down to reincarnate...I guess. And the "grudge" attacks everyone, but leaves the useful people to suffer longer.EX: the Allison girl. She had the grudge in her, when she came back to america, she started spreading to other people in the apartment. After the grudge spreaded, she died cause she's no longer useful. I guess because I was focusing on the plot more, I got easily scared.
This movie is more about unwinding the plot, than being scared to death. If you wanna be scared go watch SAWIII or something.

i thought he was um....a journalist? or something, a photographer who was there for a studying program? im not too sure, the movie was so boring and dull that i lost interest in it.
he only got the curse when he:
went into the house that shara michelle geller was burning down to save her. he was there when the fire started
i should have watched the japanese one

The Grudge 2 was scary! It scared the wits outta me. Well, almost. I couldn't sleep for that entire night. Kept waking up and broke out into a cold sweat. All because I kept visualising the 'ghost' was under my blanket.
But the plot was kinda bad, if you ask. All the characters died.

Mmm...are we talking about the original japanese version or the american version here? Edison wasn't in the japanese version...well, I personally prefer the japanese version more, they're always better than those crappy american re-makes...just my opinion.
Also, isn't this the japanese ent section? so shouldn't we be talking about the japanese version and NOT the american version?

I actually thought part 2 was slightly scarier than part 1...I guess I just found some of the cursings in part 2 freakier than some of the ones in part 1. But overall I still refer the original because I thought it was more solid, part 2 was basically like a remake of the original.
Note: If you have not watched part 1, then obviously you wouldn't understand the story of part 2 since it was a continuation of part 1...I really would recommend people watch the original also, since I personally thought it was better than the sequel.

After I watched The Grudge 1, I thought, Weh, this movie doesnt have a storyline. It was just meant to scare. I loved the backward style of story-telling though. But really. It was hella scary. and The Grudge two was worse! I liked it. Not a lot of horror movies scare people now. I didnt even find Shutter scary and they're already making another American remake of it.
You guys, watch the asian versions BEFORE the american version. in fact, i suggest you avoid the american versions completely. it'll do you good. ^^

i liked the 1st movie, but this 1 no...i didn't think it was scary, just freaky...i guess cuz u have seen the ghost so many times already in the 1st movie, it's just not scary anymore...but i gotta admit, the most freakiest part for me in the sequel was when the ghost crawled out from that woman! it was like watching sadako crawling out from the tv in 'the ring'! xP
but yeah, the movie was rather freaky instead of 'scary'.
