Hmm... best from what I've seen:
Colorful Life - Best Comedy EVER!
Detective Investigation Files II - Probably the first TVB series I got totally addicted to!
Burning Flames II - Mainly because Wong Hei and Jenny Shing were awesome together!
Triumph in the Skies - More production wise than character wise though, since I hated most of the main cast -> and this was before I knew who they were in terms of actors/actresses, so it was purely character hate. But it was an entertaining large budget production, I was glad they came to Australia, lolz, and Sammul's Donald was too cute! ^^ (I also really liked Vincent...poor man)

Worst: Umm... I tend not to remember them if they are bad! Actually... I tend not to WATCH them if they are bad! hahahha...
But the recent Pages of Treasure was kinda crappy at the end (Shirley was dumb and Eric should've totally just left her ditched), as was the ending of The Rules Turn Loose (as cute as Sammul was, I didn't really get where the storyline was heading).

Best: Drive of Life, Forensic Heroes 1, A Maiden's Vow, Heart of Greed and War and Beauty.

Worst: This is far from being super awful, but Moonlight Resonance is the only series that left didn't get a good impression from me. *Shot* I thought Dance of Passion was quite bad.

Best: Witness to a Prosecution 1, Gods of Honor, War of Genders, Moonlight Resonance, The 'W' Files, Forensic Heroes 1, To Catch the Uncatchable, Armed Reaction 1 and 2, Dicey Business and some others

LazzieBoi, i really don't Like HOG and MR, i think they're boring. too much drama for me to handle, i mean i watched it for the sake of watching it but i didn't feel the need to watch it again or get really hyped with it. it was all crying, and arguing just so typical and predictable.
While with TGOL and TDOL it was a bit draggy but the storyline was interesting, and i was just so hooked on. i couldn't wait for the next ep. there was always something for me to look forward to. Esp. TGOL, it was unpredictable the storyline, and you just couldn't predict the ending. While MR ang HOG the ending was just right their infront of you.

^I'm with you on that. I personally didn't really got obsessed or go like ''OMFG THIS SHOW IS THE BEST FUKIN SHOW EVER!!!1'' over HOG and MR. Alright storyline, it's okay but pretty predictable, like clooney_girl said .. the ending was just right before your eyes.. or rather, how you perceive each episode, giving you an obvious clue or two about what's gonna happen.. Acting was alright, But some of the big hoo-haa drama wasn't exactly necessary with lovely Mama Hor preaching about the ways of life or the two, Yan Hong and Mama Hor b*tching\slapping each other. I did like some of their humorous bits in the show, mostly from Moses Chan as Ah Ka.

I seriously Quitted on the Seventh day after 6 or 7 episodes, don't get me wrong i love Bosco and kevin, its just the series was TOO BORING!

I watched a crappiest series and its name is Building of Life.It's very boring and the acting of the main cast is not good except the actress who is the girl friend of the main actor.I don't know her name is Wu Wing Yee or Ng Wing Yee.
The best series I have seen is La Feme Desperando.It is a very good series.

ashwinchan123: if u thought it was boring then why did u even bother. If you actually did go through the series, and think about how the plot was developed, it was actually very unpredictable and well written it was just a bit boing.

I would like to add Fate of Clairvoyant, I just watched it last night and i really liked it, John Chiang actually looked really good, and amy and him was sooooo CUTE! i really liked the begining, i think the series was to short.

Hee thx clooney girl... Men in Pain, hmm ok lah... it's a bit funny, but i dun like it maybe becos i cannot stand the styel Damien has in the show, and i also dun like the gal (think she's called Tobby Leung). And alot of parts not very logical


Actually, TGOL is quite ok to me, the acting of most of the actors and actresses are very gd, it's just very lengthy and the ending a bit stupid, but anyway most of the series ending are quite predictable and always not nice LOL

I think one of the crappiest TVB series is Gem of life, it was way too long and didn't make that much sense to me....Another one i really didn't like is your class or mine, the cast was really bad and it was boring.

The best TVB series that i really liked was drive of life, moonlight, dicey business, tai chi was also very good.

The watermelon tale was the worse series I have every watched

ALL of my friends and family say TVB have CHEAP dramas.
But I've got to admit.

The BEST show is
Hearts Of Fencing, Sunshine Heartbeat, Under the Canopy of Love, Seventh Day, Heart of Greed, and Moonlight Resonance.

YOUR just bored of MODERN LOVE dramas. Seriously, ALL the best dramas are love ones. Taiwanese Dramas, Korean Dramas, and Japanese Dramas have good dramas because they make love themes. Like Full House, Why Why Love, Smiling Pasta, etc.
TVB keeps making stupid cheap dramas. And the dramas above are the only ones you should introduce to.
Not just the dramas are cheap. Most of the songs we have aren't the rhythm we want.

Hearts of Fencing/Sunshine Heartbeat- my favorite ones. Sad, Short, and Funny.
The actors are freaking what I ALWAYS wanted. Singers should cooperate and make a love drama more. Hearts Of Fencing is the ONLY drama I've seen that did this.
That show is something what modern people would watch. Especially the world.

Under the Canopy/Seventh Day- These are dramas our continent would watch. Its good for modern/children and have good people. But there are some cheap people and nonsense here.

Heart Of Greed/Moonlight Resonance- These dramas are mix of cheap and good.
It's the kind of drama that shows modern Chinese people does. It has a good storyline. But I consider this cheap actors. Not the people we REALLY want. And some oldies. It's messed up how they love their own siblings.

HONORABLE DRAMAS

War Of In Laws II is cheap, but at least it is a comedy. Only TVB watchers should watch this.
And Monkey King is the drama that explains a country's tradition. The actors are awesome. But not the world would watch it. Cause the theme is not love, and it's not modern.

For the crappiest, its the ones who talk about stupid nonsense, made up stupidly, cheaply made, a lot of cheap acting, cheap settings, and cheap storyline.

Seriously, I am SO bored of cheap dramas.
Some people think the dramas I have are boring. It is because YOU ARE TRADITIONAL AND TVB WATCHERS. The dramas I have above are THE WHOLE WORLD would watch it.
Seriously, don't base it on your opinion and say it sucks just cause your not modern and young enough.
I hate those kind of people. Pfft TVB needs to make more modern love themed dramas now.
Update yourself people. If those dramas are your taste... then whatever. Every cousin, friend, schoolmate, and relatives I have... they all agreed with me.

Please support TVB to keep on making love dramas with modern young singers in the show.
Then, MORE people from the world would watch TVB. Seriously, I don't even know a person who watches TVB dramas and say they are not cheap. And I know a LOT of people saying TVB should make more dramas like Full House, Smiling Pasta, and bla bla bla.

Crappiest: The Seventh Day, Life Art

Every since I watched Return of the Cuckoo, I have not seen ONE drama that was able to match it. All the performances were amazing in this series. The BEST part is the script and how well ALL of the characters are written (not just the main ones). Literally all of the characters had a chance to shine in this series, such as Michael, Sherming, Nancy's sister, Charmaine's dad etc. In many TVB series, usually the supporting characters are very stereotypical and they don't do much in the series but that is not the case in ROC. The story is tight and the relationships between all the characters create many interesting storylines (Nancy and Charmaine's father or Nancy's sister against Michael (or his mom)...)

I don't think I need to say anything about Chilam's performance, it has been well praised and well deserved. Charmaine was relatively new at the time and I think this actually works to her advantage in this role. The role doesn't require someone to be very matured and Charmaine did that very well.

The ONLY thing I didn't find believable was Nancy lying to make Charmaine leave at the end. I am sorry but I do not buy that a mother was willing to do such thing. It was way too melodramatic and she didn't need to do it given the circumstances.

Other than that, it was a great series, with a great ending shot by the way.


NOW, for the crappiest...

The Seventh Day is the worst series I've ever seen. The two couples don't even interact with each other, other than the first chapter. It's really annoying that they keep shifting back and forth between the two. If there was a point to it, then that's fine. But there isn't. The series was slow and Niki and Kevin were a bore. The highlight is actually Niki's dog. Niki's illness is a big yawn and the introduction of Selena just drags the whole storyline.

Bosco and Natalie were boring too. Their storyline was useless and we are treated to another triangle relationship. Big Yawn. There is no point to this series and just really crappy. Under the Canopy of Love was actually decent but then the 7th day is just crap

and LIFE ART.......I'm sorry, there is nothing to say here because there is nothing worth talking about. The story is forgettable, the performances does not stand out, just overall bad.

Havent been watching that much, but E.U was pretty awesome and Gem of Life,

Worst: Drive Of life wasn't that bad but considering the cast and money put on it. It is a flop for me

This is actually a difficult one for me -- there are too many series in both categories for me to list.

Most of the series from the 80's and 90's would fall in the "Best" category for me....just to name a few (but definitely not all-inclusive as there are too many to list): Blood of Good and Evil, The Breaking Point, Cold Blood Warm Heart, New Heaven Sword and Dragon Sabre, The Challenge of Life, Secret of the Heart, DIF I to IV, Untraceable Evidence I & II, etc.). There were a couple from the year 2000 and after that I like as well (again, just to list a few): Forensic Heroes I & II, Return of the Cuckoo, Virtues of Harmony, Welcome to the House, HOG and MR, War and Beauty, Revolving Doors of Vengeance, Face to Fate, etc.

In terms of the crappiest series, there were actually quite a few -- I can't think of all of them right now, but a few that I've watched and did not like: Split Second (couldn't follow the plot and absolutely hated both Alex Fong and Yoyo Mung's characters), The Seventh Day (the song was nice, but the series itself was absolutely boring -- plus I'm not a huge fan of Kevin or Nikki), Life Art (again, not a Kevin fan and don't really like Gigi either -- her acting is too "over the top" for me).

In terms of Gem of Life and Drive of Life, I wouldn't necessarily put those into the "crappiest" category, I just feel that what did those series in were the length -- they were WAY too long....I actually opened a forum topic regarding this....it's actually not the actors or series fault, it's the producers and TVB for making them so long.

Out of all the TVB series I have watched.. to me..

The Best: Last One Standing - had some depth to the storyline and it actually had some daring scenes (that HK audiences complained about) that isn't in your usual TVB show. There was versatile acting from all the actors in this show and it was short and sweet, not too draggy or too short.

D.I.E - Just hilarious! It's funny in the sense that it's not really crappy jokes, some original jokes are always included. The cases in this series are fantastic.. good enough that TVB decided to make an alternative ending just so Yue Sir doesn't die ;]

E.U. - Really fast paced and scandalous, the storyline kept us all glued to the screen as you didn't know what will happen next. Great addition of new characters.

Heart Of Greed - Fantastic show of family drama, its has the love story, betrayal, action, drama all in this show. The sequel however, (Moonlight Resonance) didn't do so well in my view as the story was exactly the same as that of Heart of Greed.

Forensic Heroes - Great team of actors, the cases are really creative and the storyline is great too.

Worst: Moonlight Resonance - Draggy. Pointless. Boring. I am sorry, but TVB doesn't really know how to move on to a new storyline in this case, it's the same old same old 'fighting for money', someone dies, 'fighting for money again', another person dies, someone feels guily and then it's a happy ending.

Forensic Heroes II - Adding Charmaine and Kevin to the cast and killing off Linda just totally ruined the series for me. I mean, isn't it a bit tragic that Linda just gets killed off right before her wedding to the love of her life? Then Charmaine (I don't like her) comes swooping in thinking she is just too cool for everyone, flirts with basically every guy within a km radius and then she gets with Kevin, Kevin gets in a coma, Kevin wakes up at the end and they all run off to the hospital. *Yawn*

There are loads I dislike, and I agree with TC, Moonlight resonance to be didnt have much of a story, it was all arguing and stuff, things you can see on english soaps like east enders and conronation street just with HK actors.
