Saw this poll in tvb forum and thought it was quite interesting. Among these 2nd/3rd line actress, who are the ones that you think would make it to 1st? I added a few other names into the poll myself.

I think what others mean by 1st line are actress like Charmaine Sheh, Gigi Lai(in the past), Jessica Hsuan and other veterans. To put it simply, they can act, are well liked and are always given leading roles/good roles.

As for Linda Chung, I think it's quite obvious she is going to be 1st line in future. She is promoted like crazy in recent years.

On the other hand, even though Tavia isn't promoted as much I think she would eventually make it to 1st line. Her breakthrough this year should be her villain role in 宫心计.

I know some of you would say that Kate Tsui shouldn't belong in the poll as she is also promoted overly but I think it's still too early to say that Kate would eventually make it to 1st.

I voted Selena Li, Leila Tong, Bernice Liu, Natalie Tong and Elaine Yiu.

I doubt TVB will promote Leila like they do to .. I don't know Linda? But I hope they'll give her a chance. I voted Selena because I think she can act just like Natalie and Elaine. Elaine started of having a evil role and many disliked her role as Chole. But after appearing in some more series, her acting seems to have improved, so it looks like the criticism helped her. For Natalie, she has been a second female lead in The Seventh Day and is also going to appear as a guest role for an upcoming series.

I would like to see Bernice in more series too. I have been watching her in a movie, My Wife is 18 with Ekin and Ah Sa and even though it was some years ago, I thought she did very well in her role. (: She looks pretty much the same like now hahas.

I think Kate might be able to get to the 1st line. TVB is making her a singer now too. She has led 1 series so far, Speech of Silence but she is also leading in Beauty of a Game, upcoming series. I agree that Linda is promoted so ... fast?? As for Tavia, I believe it won't be too long for the audience to notice her.

i'd say leila tong for suree ..
i think she's being overlooked by tvb . , but its' their loss if they dont realize how good she is .
annd yeah ., i dont think that tvb will ever notice how important leila is . she's the reason why i actually started watching them . leila's really goood .
i also think nancy's really good . but she doesn't get so many chances . hopefully she'll get more roles in the near future

I voted for Leila Tong, Nancy Wu, and Bernice Liu. I think Leila Tong will never get the recognition she deserves from TVB simply because she isn't contracted with them. Why would a company put so much effort for an actress that isn't even signed to them, you know? Bernice is starting to get more recognition and I think she's beginning to improve quite a bit. Nancy, however, is still not being as promoted as much as I would like because she acts quite well, perhaps even on par with Leila.

I voted for Sharon Chan, Nancy Wu & Selena Li.
But I think all have equal chances & their own potential to rise up to the 1st line it's just whether TVB would give them chances or not XD










You forgot that Kate was the leading actress for The Price Of Greed.

Wow. Leila is leading in the poll currently. But I hope you guys get the question right. The question is who do you would make it to the 1st. I know many people liked Leila but yea, as you guys said she is overlooked by TVB so I don't think she would make it the 1st. Besides good acting skills and popularity, please take into consideration other factors such as whether TVB would give them a chance etc. Maybe I should change the title to avoid confusions. sorry my fault for being not so clear.

Basically I voted those 4( or 5 if you count Nancy) because I think TVB might promote them and their acting is ok i guess. They are also quite accepted by the audience. definitely room for them to improve more and eventually get into 1st line.



Is being able to lead in a series counted as being 1st line? I'm not so sure but I guess you have a point.

Bernice is definitely going to be No.1 in the future, others like Selena, Nancy, Natalie all also have good chances but it will depend on how TVB promotes them. Think Kate is also being heavily promoted to be a No.1, releasing an album is just one of many stepping stones.

I voted for Leila and Bernice. Both Leila and Bernice has the potential to beocme a TVB first line actress. Both has the good acting and singing skills to be able to make it to the top. Plus both of their images are very good. I think TVB should give more opportunity to both of these actresses. Leila has been in the industry for over ten years and has gained a lot of popularity and Bernice our little princess has gained popularity throughout the course of her career. Hopefully in the long run, both of these actresses will be able to become first line actresses, but I know they will.

I voted for Selena & Sharon. Natalie is may also have a chance but i think she needs more improvement. Sharon and selena really has their own potential and skills in acting. I think they are suitable to become No.1 in the next fews years but Sharon is not really getting promoted by TVB. They seem to be promoting Linda more...
Nancy is also improving but i dont think she can become No.1

Voted for Sharon too. I think she can carry it if given the opportunity.

i voted for Selina Li and Leila Tong
Leila is actualy a very experienced actress and now that she has a mature image she shud b capable. Selina LI is also very good. her improvement means that she will manage.

I also think Sharon has a chance, since she is going to be a villian in Beauty of a Game and is also in grand production, "Wealthy Door" with Gallen and Ray. She is very convincing as Pansy in Pages of Treasures.

some of these made it to first line already. however, some actually lost a lot of their popularity. but honestly i think they all got their chances.

I voted for Selena Li. She's got it. The look and the acting. I saw her in The Master of Tai Chi and the Four. She did a great portrayal for both. I'm looking forward for her in Beyond the Realm of Conscience!

Fala Chen, she can act, just that her Cantonese isn't 100% good.

Sharon and Selena, very natural in their acting and fun to watch them.

i think kate and niki have lots of potential.

Well, I think the acting of Bernice and Leila is really good and has somewhat different points from others.

They apparently become HK fadans in the furure.

I think Linda Chung and Kate Tsui are already 1st line actresses, since they're promoted so much.
I'm a fan of Leila Tong but since she's not promoted by TVB, so I don't think she'll make it to 1st. I think Selena Li, Nancy Wu and Natalie Tong have the potential to become fadans, but it all depends on whether TVB decides to promote them or not.

Definitely Sharon Chan. She's a pretty versatile actress but its a pity that TVB doesn't promote her much or gives her any chance to show her talent.

I'd say Bernice and Lelia Tong as well.

I voted for Leila, Bernice, and Nancy. I know that the question is asking who would most likely make it taking into consideration everything (including whether TVB will give them a chance)...even though Leila and Nancy probably won't have a chance because as everyone else said, TVB hasn't been promoting them, you never know what may happen in the future. They may get lucky and get put in a series that becomes a hit without TVB even intentionally doing it (just look at Michael Tse in E.U. -- I'm pretty sure TVB didn't anticipate how popular his character ended up becoming).

These 3 definitely have alot of potential -- I especially like Leila's performances in War and Destiny and Twin of Brothers. I agree that she is very under-recognized -- but she has good looks and her acting is very good, so I think it's only a matter of time....true talent will always get recognized in some way -- it may not be the way expected, but it will happen (may not even be through TVB). My mom (who I guess you could say was part of the industry a long time ago when she was young) doesn't like any of the actors or actresses from the current generation, however she actually complimented Leila's performance in War and Destiny -- I was surprised because that was the first time I had seen Leila in a series and I started to notice her more after that....

In the few series I've seen with Nancy in them, I definitely think she has alot of potential. I think being in Strictly Come Dancing helped to boost her popularity quite a bit and she is in more series, so she definitely has a chance.

As for Bernice, it's obvious that she will make it to 1st line (if she isn't considered that already). She's also not recognized as much by TVB, though she has improved quite alot in her acting (that's probably why she decided to pursue movies instead). I think it's a pattern with TVB -- they always have a problem recognizing / promoting people who truly have acting talent (i.e.: Sunny Chan)...instead, they spend all their money and efforts promoting people who come out of beauty pageants (very few of whom can truly act) and then wonder why all of their best talent leave after their contracts are up...

Tavia I think is already on her way.

Fala Chen is great! I love her performances, especially in HOG and MR. I don't find anything wrong with her acting or anything else. She is lovely and in my opinion, I think she gives off that elegant, yet cute personality. People say that her accent ruins stuff, but I personally think that's ok. Afterall, everyone has a little, if not a lot, accent of their own. I hope to see more of her in future series.

Bernice and Nancy. Both of them are such great actresses.
