First things first, this is just my thoughts and not true....but hopefully it does come true.

Does audience still remember this great doctor series starring Nick Cheng, Sonija Kwok, Raymond Lam, Leila Tong, Bosco Wong, Sharon Chan, Selena Li, Mimi Lo, etc.? I was recently rewatching this series for the millionth time and I was thinking that wouldn't it be great if this series can have a sequel. I mean the ending for "The Last Breakthough" was sort of open ended. Sonija woke up from her coma and she along with Nick and their baby girl went back to Africa just like they had wished. Raymond and Leila got back together after their one separation and is doing service in Africa.

I was just thinking if they had a sequel they could continue on with the love relationships for Raymond and Leila. They might even talk about them getting married in Africa while they are working. Sonija and Nick in Hong Kong happily living with their family and the talk about their clinic "Lung Sing." Also, the "The Last Breakthrough," Sharon liked Raymond but Raymond didn't like her. As well Bosco had a crush on Leila, but Leila liked Raymond. Maybe they can talk about Sharon and Bosco being together and supporting together, they can start a relationship together.

Since "Healing Hands" had two other sequels, this doctor series was very good as well, they should have another sequel for "The Last Breakthrough." I know may people would say that "The Last Breakthrough" having a sequel would have a slim chance because "The Last Breakthrough" was aired so long ago. "The Last Breakthrough" was a 2004 production and now it's 2009 and they still don't have talk about having a sequel so most likely they won't since it's five years time, but there's always hope. Because if you think about it, "Burning Flames II" was a 2002 production and now they have a "Burning Flames III" as a 2009 production. This series is seven years apart and they still have a sequel, so don't you think that it's possible to have another sequel. Poeple would also say but "Burning Flames" is different since "Burning Flames III" is not a sequel to "Burning Flames II" but a third installment for "Burning Flames I," plus it would be likely since it already have an installment and "Burning Flames III" is just an installment for "Burning Flames I." But if we have the imagination, this can come true.

What about you guys? The fans of "The Last Breakthrough" series and of course the fans of our lovely couple Raymond and Leila, (as well as the fans for Bosco, Sonija, Selena, etc.) does anyone want another sequel for this series? Please share your thoughts and opinions.

I remember watching this series a few years ago and really enjoyed it. I'd love it if they would make a sequel, but I don't think that the chances are big because I don't think the series was that popular in hong kong and didn't get that good ratings. However if they do make a sequel I hope there will be more scenes in africa and that there will be more Raymond and Leila scenes.

I'm all for it, on the condition that Andrew Lin comes back.

Actually i think this was a very goods TVB series production because i really liked the plot, it was very different and it was filmed in Africa and so it actually seems pretty real to see all the things that happen there. I really hope there will be another sequel to that or maybe another series that shows Africa. It was a very touching series and very special one.

yes yes if they bring back the same cast, more storyline on what they do, maybe travel to some other locations/countries, etc. very nice to see another fung n tong ling, nick is very funny too. yeah!

Yes!!! I would definitely hope for a sequel for this show!!!

The plot is gd and many scenes are very touching, and the meaning behind it is very gd too. I mean, it's abt doctors putting their full heart and trying all their best to help the needies. N great that they have filmed in Africa or even those china villages.

Esp since now Nick is back, shld take the chance to film The last breakthrough II with the same cast and develop more on the relationship on Leila n Raymond! Love their chemistry And also, they can use the Si Chuan earthquake as background story, and show how the doctors n volunteers help on that...

I love watching 'The Last Breakthrough', but I don't want a sequel to it. I'm sick of TVB riding on the success of series and continuously making sequels TA series. I like TLB and if they make a sequel, I don't know if it will be just as touching/meaningful as the prequel. Or like in TVB style, they will add this character, kill off another or twist the storyline somehow If it's like that, I don't want a sequel and rather enjoy the original series as it is. But I must say, I really like this series! Love the concept and everything! The cast is great too! ^^ I think TVB should spend some time and try to think up of more refreshing/unique/meaningful series (something they're lacking and going downhill in) instead of always sequels.

i would want a sequel of this. it is my fav tvb drama where i starting to fall in love with raymond. love his character so much in here.
