Announcing a 4th installment for Academy Series

Yesterday the cast of EU gathered to watch the Finale of the series. The Senior managers Tommy Leung and Virginia Lok attended the event. Tommy Leung announced that there would be a 4th installment for this series. Producer Wong Wai Sing said that there wasn’t a definite ending to whether Laughing was alive or dead but that didn’t matter as it gives the producers a lot more space to think as “He may appear again in the 4th installment”.

Michael Miu, Michael Tse, Ron Ng and Sammul Chan held a banquet yesterday for the cast to watch the finale of EU. Michael prepared whisky and red wine for all to celebrate.

After watching the finale Michael Tse had a few tears “Laughing has become everyone’s most favorite character so I never regretted my ‘past’ life.” Gum Gong (Ah Zhong in the series) was moved to tears and was comforted by Ron.

In the series it was said that Laughing was the show stealer but Michael Miu expressed that it didn’t matter. ‘Each artist has done the best and Sammul Chan acted well, Ron Ng had massive improvements in his acting”. He suggested that they film a “Academy Re-union” sequel. Asked whether he thinks that the ratings will overtake Moonlight Resonance? Michael Miu said “The series is different so it is hard to compare but Emergency unit has attracted younger viewers and also my business partners have been following it too.

As for Laughing stealing the show Sammul said “Every character is different and I reckon it outshined the “back planning” from Michael Miu and Gum Gong (Ah Zhong) which was a bit disappointing as it failed to grab the audience attention. Yesterday Gum Gong kissed Michael Miu to make up for it. Ron Ng expressed that when Hao Gor (Michael Miu) killed Sum Je (Kathy Chow) the ratings reached 36 points (2,280,000 viewers) which left him a bit unhappy as “when I killed Laughing it only reached 33 points so I didn’t get to overtake them."

As the time flies, Ron & Sammul are being transferred from Organised Crime and Triad Bureau (OCTB) to the 'Heavy Crime Group'. As they report to 'Heavy Crime Group', they are surprised to see "Laughing" as their head. Back when "Laughing" was discovered as a spy for the Hong Kong Police (HKP), Ron's shot wasn't lethal to kill Michael (which is impossible, two shots in the heart), he is later rescued by a fisherman. When the fisherman sends Michael to the hospital, his life is on the edge, but later survives. After Michael recovers, he returns and is promoted to be a Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) by the Police Force.

At this point, new police constable (Myolie Wu) enters 'Heavy Crime Group' along with Ron, Sammul and Michael together cracks down many many cases. In one of the case, Leung (Sammul's wife) is shot and seriously injured, but with the extensive care and support from Sammul, she later recovers BUT has forgotten about Sammul. Later they divorced and Leung travels to the US, leaving Hong Kong temporarily. As the time goes, Myolie started to have feelings for Sammul but he isn't able to forget Leung.

Ever since Elanne left Ron, he uses alcohol to release his stress all the time, suddenly, Tavia returns from abroad, but she has been avoiding Ron because he left her in the past. At one point Tavia is kidnapped and Ron was there to save her, they gradually became good friends and Ron has feelings for Tavia once again. With the unfairness Ron has in mind to Elanne, it was a difficult choice for him.

Michael often collides with Ada as they solved cases with co-operation with other another team, and they gradually have feelings for each other. However because of his experience with Wendy, he is afraid the same thing will happen, therefore Michael’s resistance is long-lived. During one of the cases, Michael finally feels the importance of Ada, he then decides to let it flow.

At this point, Elanne and Leung returns from the States, Leung gradually remembers her lost memory; however as she sees Sammul and Myolie hanging out together all the time, she decides to hide her truth (of recovering her memory back).

Since Elanne's return, Ron was content, Tavia is sympathized by Elanne's past experience, decides to withdraw from them but she knows cannot live without Ron. As a result, if you want to find out the answers to the triangle love story, please stay tuned for The Acadamy IV: Investigation Files...

no i dont think he gonna be the main lead, since the series is all about the ADVENTURE of sammul and ron as a police haha

but i bet michael role gonna be really important to the series

This is going to be weird after seeing Michael Tse in EU .. feels like something's missing without him even though the story is based on Ron and Sammul's characters.

The producer of the "Academy" franchise has always been Producer Wong Wai Sing, not Amy Wong Sum Wai. Please correct the first post with the info asap.

i just hope we don't have high expectations because it might not be as good, knowing TVB, they're not good with sequals normally.

I thought they were rumoring a prequel to Laughing's life as another installment.

yeah i think sincee laughing gor's character was so popular so i think that they're going to make his character the main, and sammuls and rons surporting not sure and this sequal will mainly forcus around him lols

didn't the news mentioned that the prequel is supposed to be the upcoming laughing gor movie? loll

I just watched this series. It is good and the actor performances are better than the previous prequel.

The prequel is a movie from what I heard. I think it'll be weird if Laughing becomes a police again, it just doesn't seem "Laughing" like. He won't really act the way he does anymore.

I just hope they film a sequel to this, but hope that laughing gor comes back, he is by the the most favorite character. I will look forward in seeing him in future.

If there's a 4th installment, i seriously hope Michelle Yim is back. It's so weird that she disappears for so long as the main character's mother.

haha so funny the never-ending sequels xD I've only seen parts of EU, still didn't finish watching it yet. I so need to catch up.

I have only seen E.U but atm now starting on the Academy. Hearing that there is a Quatquel is great news.
I hope that veterans come back and take evil roles.

well i not too excited about another academy. tvb is producing to many squeals. they need more fresh ideas for new series

the plot is confirmed to be false, it is just a fan-made plot, also the producer said that he hasn't heard of anything about producing a forth one, if it is confirmed then, it will be filmed at the fastest time of half a year later

I don't know buti'm pretty sure it's false cause they have clearly stated that E.U will be their last installment so yeah, i mean i don't mind another one but i think they should stop here in case the fourth installment doesn't turn out as good as we expected it to be

I must say Ron Ng has improved so much! He actually acts with feelings in this series vs the previous series where he would send me to sleep! Good job Ron!

i really liked the third one...hopfully this fourth will be just as good?...anyways i hope the cast is a good one too.

I liked the 3rd part so hopefully this one won't be disappointing! The plot sounds pretty interesting and it seems to have a lot of love relationships involved. I hope Ron and Elanne to be together though because they have chemistry. Plus, at the end of part 3, Ron said that he loves Elanne the most...so wouldn't it be weird for him to change his heart that quick?

If the 4th installment is true, the story seems pretty interesting but eww. Myolie. Even though I hated Yurk Bo, I hope Sammul will continue to be with her, cause myolie is just uggggh.

Wow, is the plot already confirmed. Sounds really interesting.

I'm kind of undecided as to whether I'm hoping for Ron to end up with Tavia or Elanne. Ron and Ellane have such good chemistry and are so cute together. But on the other hand I really want a TaRo series with a good ending for the pair since there hasn't been one in agessss. And it would be interesting seeing Tavia and Ron act together again now that they have both matured (nicely too ) and have improved their acting skills.

As for Sammul and Ka Kei ( or whatever her name is), I'm not really concerned about them since I never liked the pairing.

I don't know if I can get used to Laughing Gor as a policeman. It would just be kinda weird after EU. I would preferred is he turned bad for real or something although I have no idea how that'd work haha.

Tavia, Elainne, and Myolie? I also hopes Chin Ga Lok comes back for a few more scenes. I wonder how it would be with Laughing Gor as a policeman, at least this will be interesting and it'll be nice to see maturity from all the characters.
I can't wait for this, I've watched all of the previous installments, and except for the second one, it's been a really good series.

I seriously think Tavia should be the main female lead of this Academy IV now that she is the new TVB fa dan and has become more popular since TA and as she wasn't allowed to film 4 she should be 1st choice again and NO MORE HOG in the way!!!

I also think Tavia should be someone working in the CID team already and Ron falls for her but finds Tavia difficult to date (but finally ends up together) because it reminds him of ah-fa - NOT AS AH-FA though because ah-man don't deserves ah-Fa as he has hurt her badly after he loves 2 other women.
