Full Version: new computer - not reading symbols/chinese/korean

i very recently, like on saturday got my new computer arrived and installed on anti virus protection and my internet.

but i need some help with a few things. ^^"
the computer is not reading anything thats in korean/chinese or things that have symbols like a music sign or something.
how can i fix that?

you need to install the language pack for your system

go Start -> Control Panel -> Regional and Language Options -> Languages -> Details

then in the settings menu just click add and choose your language.

(^the above instructions are for XP, vista should be similar)

yup! they got the answer. If you want asian gui you got to install the mui pack.

install the language packs, you probably need the dvd you used to install or at the very least the i386 folder

Ya,By You Might Need The Installation Disc.

mhmm, sometimes needs CD to install. Other times is when you just check the box to install it the language pack.

If your new computer is still running windows xp then you will have to use the xp cd to install the language pack. For vista and windows 7 all you need to do is download the language you want when you run windows update.

You need to go to add/remove programs and install the language packs. Not ssure if you can get hold of it from the microsoft website or not. Also you might be ablle to get it from Windows Update.

yeah you do need to install the language pack, just search for the chinese/korean ones and install it. . .and restart your computer and it should be good. . . and are you on vista?

just use os cd, that should have all the data to install language packs
