100 artists celebrated Commercial Radio's 50th anniversary

Commercial Radio celebrated its 50th anniversary at the Hong Kong Inter-Continental Hotel yesterday. Nearly one hundred artists attended the event included Alan Tam, Joey Yung, Charlene Choi (Ah Sa), Jacky Cheung, Denise Ho, Eason Chan, Miriam Yeung, Esther Kwan, The Grasshopper, Niki Chow etc., making it a grand occasion.

Joey and Denise arrived at the hotel the same time, when Joey heard people calling Denise's name, she quickly walked away. Talking about Gillian Chung(Ah Gill) releasing a solo album, Joey said she had met her in the recording studio and found her very well. On the other hand, Charlene Choy will be releasing her next new album "Survivors". Reporter asked Ah Sa is Twins are making record separately? Ah Sa said "Not separately, but working separately for a while, hoping to work together soon." Ah Gill's stage play "Star dad Ya d" will be performed tonight. The two top two executives from Emperor will be watching the play to support her. Joey would be the first to get there, guarding the door to show her support.

EEG has always been that way, even when Twins were still together, they tend to release 2 albums a year. It is okay though since I'm ready for another album already. Alec, Grasshopper and Charlene are almost like family. If you don't remember, Charlene's dad used to work in the ET business and so Grasshopper knew Charlene as a kid. They all watch Charlene grew up to be the beautiful lady she is today. I think Charlene mentioned it before when Twins did the New Year video with them. I just think it is amazing how Grasshopper and Charlene are so close, but then again, Charlene have many close friends that are artists such as Alex Fong, PaKho, Niki, etc.

It'd be amazing if someone could give translations to the lyrics because just like Two Missing One, I'm sure the meaning and lyrics are really meaningful. We'll get it more with translated lyrics but maybe it's directed at something else, as opposed to Edison (anyhow, she doesn't have beef with him and he didn't leak the photos himself or anything) so it might be another personal matter - a break-up, something else that happened in her life that we don't know about, her career - anything! But now that they're somewhat retracting, but not, it's all so confusing. Maybe they are releasing together and it's intentional by EEG to compare?

Yes, I feel that Charlene don't have beef with Edison whatsoever since out of all the artists in EEG, Charlene is one of the few that don't say anything bad about Edison. The first time reading the lyric, I thought nothing of Edison BUT after reading quite a few comments here and there I think the song does somewhat relates to Edison. In the beginning of the song, there was a part where it talks about the person being a collector (Edison did collect multiple pictures of girls) and towards the ending there was also a line where it says that just like a drunk driver, when you hurt someone you can just say sorry but your arrogant, the more I look at you the more I hate you. (IMO, this line got nothing to do with Charlene since Edison never owe her anything & they both don't have a reason to hate eachother.) IF the song was sing by Gillian, it may be a different story BUT since it was sing by Charlene, I think there may be a different meaning UNLESS EEG is using Charlene to bash Edison on theirs & Gillian's behalf. Whatever the reason is, I still think that the song is really good and it might be as big as <Two Without One>.

I personally DON'T think that it is too soon, Charlene was finish recording her first album in '08 & the release date was push back until April, so if the release date isn't delay her album would have come out earlier. PLUS, many other artists in HK release albums quite close to each other. Personally, the Twins/Charlene's fan whom would be buying the album isn't complaining so I don't understand why other people would be so concern. I think the album might be release near Christmas since she'll be busy filming in the next couple of months and promotion for <CBS> would start soon. IF not then EEG might release it very early next year which isn't a bad timing either. I'm really wishing that EEG will dash out more money for this album, Charlene really deserve big promotion. She is probably EEG biggest earner at the moment anyways, since she actively involves in concerts, events, musics, acting, ads, musical, dubbing, etc. I hope for a full album too, her last album only contain 6 new songs so hopefully we will get a full album.

I don't think EEG would be release Gillian and Charlene's album together. They might be a few months different. Mani said that Gillian would release one before the year ends, then EEG might push Charlene's back OR something. UNLESS they do want the media to compare the two, which is a good way of promotions. Honestly, Twins would get compare for the rest of their career so yea.

LOL, it is really the underdog in the album, I personally LOVE it. The vocal ranges is very high, I really want to hear Charlene sing it live. I also like <Knowing You're Not Him> but less than <Crossover>.

I was thinking (well, technically many fans been thinking) why don't EEG just let Charlene release a mando album so she can win <Asia Most Popular Female Artist>? Charlene would wins hands down, because she is the most popular female singer in HK. Plus, her fanbase in Mainland and other mando speaking community is stable. OR maybe EEG would let her as soon as <CBS> airs? BUT again, EEG might not want Charlene to win such a big award since it'll be harder for Twins to come back together. This year, TVB was really mess up, they ruin both Charlene and Joey. Everyone knows for a fact that Joey did deserve the <Best Female Singer> award and Charlene deserve <Asia Most Popular Female Singer> award BUT in order to keep Anita's record unbreakable they screw everyone.

That is awesome, another album on the way which mean there will be posters and pics to accompany them. I can't wait, Two Missing One was early half of the year and this new one will be later half of this year!! It looks like EEG is making this year more of a singing career for Charlene! But I am loving it. I think fans are looking forward to it definitely !!

I have two pics of the event also. lol I never knew that Grasshopper watched Charlene grew up. But I remember that yeah they are really close i think during 2006 a lot of collaborations! Glad to see Charlene with her seniors and juniors in the industry getting a long so well :thumsbup:

Well, Charlene can't be nominate this year since she don't have any mando music. The criteria for a nomination in the Asia Most Popular Female Singer award is to have cantonese hit songs as well as mando hit songs within the same year. But since Charlene only have cantonese music this year, it is impossible for her to get nominated. As for last year, Charlene did have <Little Dimple> and <Little Sister>.

Releasing the album together would be too intense for the REAL Twins' fans. I have read quite a lot of comments regarding this issue, because they all expressed that EEG is going to make them broke, however, they would support both (these are real Twins fans). I don't think it would matter much to me anyways, since I would be buying Charlene's album only. She has been producing extremely good music and with the amount of hard work she put into the Cd would be worth my support.

I guess that is true, but is it possible she get nominated because Two Missing One was in mandarin and it was on radios in taiwan and mainland? lol I just hope her songs get some awards they are definitely good. Furthermore, I gree she put a lot of work in her music. I got no doubt in my mind that she would win best new singer award but she said it would be awkward, and I agree since she is no newcomer, anyway always support CHarlene for sure.

Now getting the translation of the whole song, I do think the song is talking about Edison. BUT, I really don't agreed with the way EEG is setting this up, they already cliam that they don't want anymore topic relating to the 'incident' so why would they even allow Charlene to sing the song. However, I must admit that the lyrics is really good and the song itself is awesome. Huh? Maybe someone who isn't at all related to the 'incident' should have sing the song or maybe someone who do show that they have beef with Edison (Joey) should have sing the song. I still think the song is really good though and Charlene did an excellent job. I can't wait to hear what Charlene and the lyricist would say about this song, it may still be for another thing such as a player of some sort. I also want to know the reason behind that.

I was just on CCT awhile ago and I found some news about <CBS>. According to some wording online, Charlene and Mike would each be singing their own song for the drama. However, Charlene's song is the themesong to the drama; the song is called <Love Will Fight To Win>. Mike would be singing <Found That I Love You>. Gosh, I'm so excited. Hopefully, Mike and Charlene can confirm it soon.

As for if Charlene would be attending the Press Con. to <King Of Gun>, the schedule was listed as unconfirm so I don't know if Charlene went though.

LOL, I'm not quite sure since I wasn't the one who personally translated, I think 'b*tch' might be the closest word to the actual meaning in chinese. Actually, the chinese communities have no problem with the language used in the song, they are actually praising the lyric non stop and no one find it offensive so maybe it just don't sounds as good in english. I'm really liking that Charlene is going a bit soft rock with all her recent music, it was a style that Twins never really reach upon. Plus, I think it is neat seeing Charlene perform with a LIVE band, it makes her seems more like a singer rather than an idol.
