The interviewer and Charlene talk about the last play Charlene did (with Jimmy and Chilam - she prefers calling it a musical) and she mentions that it wasn't done in HK because it was for the Chivas brand and the promotions were mainly for mainland China. It was a lot of fun, but it wasn't so much acting - it had a story, but it was mainly entertainment with singing and dancing. This time for the JSG play, it's so much more difficult and she's more nervous because it's THREE hours long! ( ) There's more acting, interacting with other characters and more songs.

This time around for the JSG play, the director didn't give a definite personality or image for any of the characters. He feels that each person who acts it will give a different perspective and feel to it. Right now they're rehearsing, so they're figuring out how to portray their characters. So when it comes down to actually performing it, she might not be wearing the nerdy glasses (that we saw in those photos) and speaking with a lisp.

This time around is her first time doing a serious play and she's so nervous and flustered. For movies, each scene in a short period you have to convey a certain message, so the environment and actions are all set and there's already a back story. But in plays, you have to tell everything using your self and nothing else. But she's really glad to have really good co-stars helping her get comfortable.

Some of the songs she's going to sing were from before she was even born, but there are some from when she was in kindergarten or when she was young and she'd draw from her personal experiences. Like she used to copy lyrics of some of these songs, too. The play is partially about how music is so representative of certain periods in time. Like as soon as you listen to the song, you can recognize it and you know the time period it was from. And there's even a Twins song in the list of songs that Charlene will be singing during the play!

The JSG play will be from July 2 - 5 and 2 of the nights, there's an afternoon and a night showing of it.

There's not much time until the play (3 weeks), so Charlene's already been bumping back her other work/projects until August/September (I guess that would be King of Guns which starts filming in August? Or maybe there might be another project too Some work she has to definitely go, like appearances in Mainland (all those events, festivals, concerts Charlene's bene attending, I guess). But others, she's been bumping back or cancelling. (At the end of the interview, Helium Balloon plays! Glad to see that it's getting a lot of air play )
