Number 10 is a cocky one i reckon

I'm quite disappointed that there are only 10 Finalists this year... 0.O'
The contestants look quite average and some i think are below average?
Too bad some of the good contestants dropped out...
I think i will pick finalists 1, 5, & 10.
Contestants 4 & 6 look okay in the pictures, too.

Only 10 contestants this year? :\ & I don't think anyone of them are pretty. O_O
And how come they're all above 20 now? =P

no offense.. but none of them are extremely pretty. cuz usually each year even if they have alotta ugly girls, like 1 or 2 happen to be really pretty... but not this year. Are they getting more finalists later? hopefully they have some luck for getting at least a few pretty girls.

I'm gonna give Miss HK a miss this year...these girls are average at best. Uni degree is sort of the 'norm' now...

Miss HK pagent have been going down hill for a few years now. the contestent are becoming mediocre. for the past few years non are great brains like amy kwok or stunning beauties like contestant in the 80's such as maggie cheung mon yuk or michelle reis.

I think TVB may notice that too as recent talents in dramas are girls from beautiful cooking or miss chinatown winners like bernice and fala.

from looking on the tvb website, i think #4 is the prettiest. why have they changed the system to 10 contestants?!! The quality of these contestants gets worse every year, no improvement =|.

Speak for yourself! I can't choose!!

it is unusual for tvb to not post up their heights etc. [well it's not found on their website..]

i think they are all below average, i think each year the girls have become shite. Standards are low. and this goes for Mr HK. I dont vote but if any of them are the face of Miss HK, I'm going to vomit and put myself in for the next pageant.

Myolie Wu is the winner among the 10 Miss HK hopeful

10 Miss Hong Kong hopeful returned to Hong Kong after spending 8 days filming in Hokkaido. Media reported that the 10 of them are of average quality standard, no one in particular is tipped to be the hot favorite. Yesterday, Myolie Wu and Skye Chan wore bikini to help the promotion. The winner was 30 years old Myolie, who was crowned Miss Hong Kong ten years ago.

Myolie told reporter she had to keep fit and on a diet before she attempted to wear the bikini. She is very happy with her figure and she will keep the pictures they took as a momentum. She revealed that she is very proud to say that her skin is much better than 10 years ago. The reporter noticed that she has a stretch mark on her tummy, she replied that it is only a skin fold, it has nothing to do with her getting fat. In fact she hardly wears bikini since she became Miss Hong Kong, until she was filming on "To Grow With Love" when she had a "roundish" figure. No doubt, Myolie was the focus among the 10 contestants. When they were having their photo shoot, the reporters kept on praising her. Myolie reckoned Mandy Chung and Mizuni Hung stand a good chance of winning the contest.

The contestants of Mr. and Miss Hong Kong hopeful met up for the first time in Guangzhou Changlong Water Park to film a special programme yesterday. They were enjoying a game of water polo. Samantha Ko, Skye Chan and Shermon Tang were invited to host the event. They also wore swimming costume for the activities. However, the focus were on Samantha and Skye as they appeared as the most sexiest among all the girls, specially Samantha, showing the fullness of her top figure. On the other hand, Winnie Ma had so many NG when she was being filmed and Esther Lam was seen hiding having a nap. Germaine Li, however has to take a breath to hold her tummy in when her picture was taken due to her thick waistline and her stomach appeared to be bulging out.

Reporter told Samantha she stole the show yesterday as her figure was the best among the contestants, Samantha couldn't believe that by saying "Noway, this swimming outfit was allocated to me by the company." Samantha didn't think this year's Miss Hong Kong is below the standard but she feels they are average. Last year Samantha faced a lot of negative reports by the media. Talking about this year's Miss Hong Kong pageant, Hilaire Tsang is also the subject of a lot of negative gossips. However, Samantha doesn't think Hilaire is difficult to get on.

Winna Ma expressed that she and Sandy Lau are indeed very good friends, they denied the rumor that they are "broke back".

Among the Mr. Hong Kong contestants, fitness coach Kim Li (8 ) was showing off his strong body muscles. He told reporter that he started building his muscle up 6 years ago, and he goes to the gym 3 to 4 times a week.He told reporters that Clement Tien (5), Jason Cheng (6) and Jack Xu (7) are all looking good. Kim was asked if he was attracted by any of the Miss Hong Kong contestants? He replied "No, I am only here to do a job."

I used to remember there were 20 contestants for Miss HK. But this years just 0___0 Not any this year appeals to me...

The standard this year isn't that great. I would say the better looking one out of the bunch is #4 Sandy Lau. She might get something. I just don't know why there's only 10 contestants.

i think hk population is pretty crowded, and wow at look at them, none of them stand out or the camera doesnt like them or something, some look like they havent eaten in like a month or so, skin and bones no meat no butt no boobs T_T

This year's contestants are average, I do see #4, 5, and 9 will proceed to top 5.

Did anyone watch Mr Hong Kong? When they were announcing this years Miss Hong Kong the placard, showing their names, in front missed out Mizuni. Isn't that a bit harsh considering she's No.8 not No.10 e.g. they forgot to put the last name or technical error. Maybe it's an omen!

i like #4 the best. she seems really pretty & she did pretty well at cwalking. #5 & #6 aren't bad either, i think all three of them might make it to the top 3.

I've got to say the standard for Miss HK has been dropping significantly every year for the last 4-5 years. This year is just awful. Plus every year the MC for the event just gets worse and worse and drags the whole thing through the gutters.

I thought that this year miss hong kong got worse. It actually gets worse each year and they all look average not as pretty. Wonder what had happen? Does anyone know when is it airing?

the quality of the contestants this yr is really bad. can't believe they couldn't find any better girls.

OMG!! only 10 final contestants!! i think Miss AF's contestants have better quality than Miss HK contestants. im really disappointed..dont even want to know who will win.

Awwwwwwws none of them are good looking. Did TVB got worse in choosing beauty? Seriously. They look very old to their age. Ill just stick with 4 Hope she gets it.

wow every year the quality seems to be decreasing. maybe cuz most "prettier" ones went to become models instead..

Since winning the title of Miss Hong Kong 2008 Edelweiss Cheung has not fufiled her duties and often took days off due to being sick. In the end TVB weren't happy about it and terminated all her work. Edelweiss is the first title holder to not be allowed to crown the new winner. It has been officially confirmed that former Miss Hong Kong winner Loletta Chu Ling Ling will carry out the duty in crowning the new Miss Hong Kong. Also Edelweiss will not be appearing in the Miss Hong Kong finals either.

The finalists continued their final preparations and went to a jewellery store in Mong Kok yesterday. They competed for the "Most Outstanding jewellery model contestant" award. #7 Mandy Chung received this award. In addition, #2 Esther Lam who a hot favorite with netizens said "It's quite surprising. But I will see it as a positive thing. I have become very tough within the last 2 months. These things won't put me down".

When the reporter mentioned that the standards of this year's Miss Asia contestants were far worse than the Miss Hong Kong's, #1 Hilaire Tsang and #2 Esther Lam expressed that they didn't read the news reports.
