SING TAO - Andy Lau has been working nonstop. Just shortly after wrapping up his Hong Kong concerts, the star went on to tour China. The tour manager was nice enough to give Andy a short break so he could fly back to Hong Kong to celebrate his birthday. Andy already had a pre-birthday with his fans on September 15, shelling out HK $800,000 worth of tea. Because fans are sreaming for their idol night after night, Andy will give each fan club member the very same Chinese herbal tea that his doctor prescribed. Each dose is close to a thousand dollars. In addition to the cash prize given away at the party, Andy will add a travel package to be raffled off. Andy celebrated his birthday with Lam Ka Dong (his birthday was on the 21st). While they dueted on stage, Andy even stripped off his shirt to reveal his upper muscles causing fans to shriek and swoon.

NewsAndy Lau saved an abandoned temple in Malaysia?, Tuesday September 28, 2004 Hong Kong
KUALA LUMPUR: An abandoned temple off Jalan Sungai Besi has received a new lease of life after Hong Kong superstar Andy Lau became a devotee a couple of years ago.
Since word got out that Lau was now a follower, the Yee Ling Temple has also attracted other movie stars from the Chinese territory.
This year for the first time, this temple will become the destination of a Hong Kong tour group during the mid-autumn festival or the mooncake festival which falls on Tuesday.
Hong Kong disc jockey and actress Celia Sie Nien Che will be a member of the tour group.
Temple caretaker Lee Hiu Fong said a special mass prayer is being organised for the Hong Kong devotees who have joined a three-day-two-night tour of Yue Lao praying here on Monday night.
Lee said she was surprised that her temple had become a “tourists attraction” although the Hong Kong movie stars had been frequenting the place.
She pointed out that this was the first time they had a mass prayer which was to take advantage of the auspicious year blessed with two li chun (beginning of spring) and double leap months.
Lee said Jia Shen year was one with twin springs and double leap months thus having two li chun (beginning of spring).
According to the lunar calendar, she said a year with leap months was auspicious and ideal for couples to get married.
“The Chinese believe that Yue Lao and He He Er Xian (Two Gods of Blissful Marriage) match make singles and bless married couples during this period,” she said.
One devotee Ong Kim Hoe, 35, who was spotted praying at the temple on Friday, said he was there to offer thanks as he was getting married.
Established more than 50 years ago, the temple was formerly located in Jalan Loke Yew before it was relocated in the 80’s.
