Hero was born as Han Jaejoon (한재준, 韓在俊) in Gongju, Chungcheongnam-do, South Korea. At a young age, Hero was given up for adoption by his birth mother to the Kims and his name was changed to Kim Jaejoong. When he was sixteen, he moved to Seoul by himself in order to take part in the auditions held by SM Entertainment. Life in Seoul proved to be hard for Hero and he had to take various odd jobs to come up with the ₩150,000 needed for the rent. He once took on a role as a soldier in the movie Taegeukgi Hwinallimyeo (태극기 휘날리며); with the money he acquired from the job he used the money to buy gum, which he sold to a female employee at a supermarket.

On December 26, 2003, he debuted with TVXQ at a BoA and Britney Spears showcase under the name a fortune teller foretold years before: YoungWoong JaeJoong. Youngwoong means "hero" in Korean, hence his international name, Hero. Jaejoong also had picked the name Hero because he wanted to be the hero of the music industry. Jaejoong was selected from an audition of 5000 people. Jaejoong won first place, both in best looking and best vocals. That made him the main vocal of TVXQ.

He was born with the blood-type O and has the personality of someone with the blood type. Is the main vocal of the group, and is carrying out the role of the "big brother" with Yunho. He gives the most criticisms to the members regarding music. Has deep thoughts and talks straight-forwardly. His neat and tidy personality is portrayed in the dorm they live in. Cleaning every corner of the house is blatantly a part of this trait, but he also is interested in cooking and feeds everyone in the group. Is the 'mother' of the group. Exceptional cooking skills and can prepare 15 kinds of dishes easily. Won the best looking award from SM and is a pretty boy, but his hobby is weight training -- he has a great, masculine body in contrast to his feminine face. Is interested in people's relationships and likes to love.

YoungWoong Jaejoong has good cooking skills. Right now he cooks for his members. He improved his cooking skills while preparing for his debut also his parent's contribution was the biggest. Jaejoong's parents own a restaurant in ChoongNam KwangJoo. JaeJoong went through lots of hardship. He did lots of part-time jobs from working in a convenience store, delivering chicken, newspaper delivery, manual labor, theres nothing he has never done. YoungWoong also appeared in the movie 'Taeguki wa Hweenalli myuh' (waving the korean flag) as an extra. But its really difficult to find him in the movie. He appeared as one of the chinese soliders.

JaeJoong's special talent is his husky voice. But the one thing he likes the most is his eyebrows. Jaejoong said when Song SuHun sees his eyebrows he is going to bow. When he was young his dream was to be a supermarket owner; because you can eat a lot of cookies all you want.

Injury

In September 2005, while rehearsing the dance steps for "Rising Sun", Hero ruptured his cartilage in his knee and was admitted to a hospital in Seoul. He underwent surgery on the same day to repair the tissue.

Suspension

On April 7, 2006 at 1:20 AM, Hero was pulled over in his father's friend's BMW by a police officer on his way home from the Renaissance Hotels. He was ordered to take a breath test and his level of alcohol was revealed to be 0.071%. After spending 20 minutes at the police station, he was released. Due to violating traffic laws, Hero was temporarily suspended from all TVXQ activities and had his license taken away for 100 days.

Custody battle over Hero JaeJoong

On November 21, 2006, a man by the last name of Han filed a lawsuit against Hero's current legal guardians. Han claimed that he is the biological father of Hero, and thus wants custody of Hero.

Han cited the reason for the lawsuit against Hero's legal guardians as "for not going through the proper procedures before registering [Hero] in [the legal guardians'] custody." He divorced Hero's biological mother in late 1980s, and gave up his custody over his child, leaving him under Mrs. Han's custody. However, he had found out some years ago Hero had been adopted by a third party, not his biological mother. A DNA test was to be performed in order to prove validity of Han's claim. Many legal consultants comment that since the adoption had taken place correctly according to the corresponding law, no legal change will be involved regardless of the outcome.

The first hearing was to be held in Kongju, Hero's hometown on November 29, 2006. The fans of TVXQ were generally appalled by this news, questioning why Han did not privately contact Hero regarding this and why he did not keep in touch with his son before he rose to fame.
On November 22, Han dropped the charges against Hero's legal guardians. Han said that he originally intended to resolve his biological son's military duty conflicts after being informed of dual citizenship by Ministry of Military Affairs, which involved verifying the fact that he is the biological father. He did not expect his intention to lead to such a scandal, and states that he was scarred by speculations that he wanted to take advantage of Hero's fame.

In reaction to the matter, Hero uploaded a journal entry on his official fan club website, and said that he was informed of the existence of separate biological parents by his mother two or three years ago, and it had been quite a shock to him. With his current mother's support, his biological mother has been able to keep in touch with him, and to meet occasionally, but whereabouts of the father had been unknown.

He vigorously expressed his will to live by the name of "Jaejoong Kim" not by his birth name "Jaejoong Han", and promised to be loyal to all four of his parents. He also lamented the fact that his family history was exposed to the public due to this incident.

Despite the termination of this issue, many still question why Han decided to drop his plan for a lawsuit after only a day, and what truly motivated him to change his mind. The dispute was resolved when Hero's biological father retreated his lawsuit and apologized for causing uneasiness in his son. After TVXQ received the award for Best Artist at the 2006 MKMF Festival, Hero thanked his biological mother with gratitude to both families.

Hello, I am Youngwoong Jaejoong, a member of DBSG. My name, Youngwoong Jaejoong means to try my best and also it means Hero. I was born on 1/26/1986. I am the only guy in my family filled with 8 older sisters. I am also the youngest one in my family, so I get a lot of love from my sisters. You guys might not believe this, but I wasnt a good singer when I was young. My singing was horrible. My friends made fun of me, so I praticed and praticed. That's how I became a good singer now. Yea! I’ve finally finished school. Now on a 2 month break, then going to sixth form. Aaand, I have no idea what that is in America lol.
How comes everyone except you are on summer break?

Omg his hair during the concerts annoy me as well. It’s all nice at the beginning, and then at the end, its wet and all over the place. Maybe he should bring a clip and clip it up, then it won’t bother him.

I haven’t really watched many fancams for the Mirotic concert, cos I don’t like all the screaming.. most of the time, you can hardly hear dbsk sing atall.
But, I did watch the rock version of Hug. Haha, I don’t know why, but I find it funny. Maybe I’m just not used to it. But the way the melodies are trying to be used just doesn’t feel right.
Gahhh, I think I watched 1 performance of 9095, where Jae’s having a lil pole dance. LOL, twas very sexy indeed mann. Him and Yoochun are always the best at showing us they’re smexy side. I just drool over them all the time xD
Omgomg Bolero. I think whoever made that song is a genius. I love it soooo much. And the high notesss, ahhh, I never get tired of that song.

I LOVE the DBSK mv version of this song. The piano at the beginning is an ingenius idea, but the again, I do have a thing for grand pianos xD
I think I’m getting addicted to this song… It just sounds sooo good. I like this song more everytime I listen to it. The harmonies during the ‘oooh’s are nicely done, and even though they’re simple, it helps to really bring out emotions to the song. As usual, JaeJoong sounded superb in it. I never doubted him for a second. For some reason, I think Yoochun sounds quite similar to Jae in this song.. maybe its just me being weird :S
Aaand, Jae’s hand gestures during his parts are real good, bringing out depth… or whatever, don’t know what it is he’s bringing out, its just good xD

Tea for Two
Hmm… tbh… I’m not too keen on this song. It hasn’t really grown on me yet. Although I do like the chorus with the harmonies. That parts really nice. The member who’s singing the higher harmony does it really nicely, theres s soft touch to it… I just can’t figure who’s singing it xD. Man I suck.
I think this song is more of the member’s singing as 1 rather than wanting 1 speciful member’s voice overpowering the rest in parts of the song. They sound so united

Wow, you guys are on part 9 already! I’m sorry I missed like half of part 8!:[ I’ll try to post more often here though!:] Great job on the start!! I learned some things. I had no idea that Junsu and Jae share underwear!xD haha. I wonder why Heaven’s Postman hasn’t aired yet I have been keep up with that waiting to see if it was going to air or not but it looked like it hasn’t yet. I thought it would have aired already so we can see Jaejoong in it already! We have been anticipating this since last year!

Wow, JaeChun duet was so beautiful! Their voices were so amazing! It must have been amazing being there watching and hearing them sing together!! Even better for JaeChun fans out there as well!:] They are so great! Jae is still singing so beautiful and looking great too! haha. Not that he can ever not sing or look great cause he always does.

I FORGOT TO MENTION! The JaeChun duet - there's this part where "la, la, la, laaa" is repeated over and over again. JaeChun got the crowd to learn the melody during the song and we all sang it together! It was really neat, because it was a new song, and it was soooo pretty!

Before Begin, there was a video. And it was a sad video... T___T Remember the video with all the rain in the T Tour? It was that style? Only the scenes were different. It began with a girl leaving Changmin after giving him a hug (they were at a bar). I think she was leaving him? Then it was Junsu. He was leaving the girl. He patted her shoulder before exitting (this one was at a lounge). Jaejoong was next. The girl was holding his hand but he slipped out of her hold, leaving her behind (this was at a bedroom setting?). Yoochun had his hand over the girl's, but the girl pushed it away and left (this was in a topless white car). Yunho's was where he left the girl, but gave her a ticket. I think it was a promise to meet up again, that this was only a "temporary" farewell. I believe the video was showing the boys tying up loose ends, because the time of the video is 19:00. The opening video of the concert, where they all kick butt and steal the necklace, is 20:00. Sad music is playing the whole time. At the end, the boys meet at a fountain, pat/hug each other, and go up to the hotel (where they kick butt, but we don't see that video again, lol).

Waahhh!!!! it's 4th of July here...and fireworks are like everywhere!! goshh..i feel like we are celebrating the boys success from tokyo dome! ahhaha!
wahh~ TD was successful!! so proud of the boys!!!

Yepp!! ive preordered my TSC dvd copy last night too.
i ordered in CDjapan. i was gonna preorder it in hmv...but then...they dont have paypal and i heard their packaging isnt good. sooo...my mom just told me to preorder it in CDjapan.

Im sooo excited toooo! the show in TD hasnt even finished, and they already had a set date for the dvd to be released. hahahaha!
anyways...omggg~ we would see their solos!!! wahh!
i remember...that we talked about it before..how they dont have solos in their live tour in japan...and now..finally..they did!!! wahhh...one of my wish came true!! hahaha~

MARIELLLEEEEE. hehee. gosh. the codes are a HUGE pain the buttt but i guess im used to them now! so that's why it's really easy for me to fix the codes! lol and it's okay about the banners. im just super OCD so that's why i moved them; it's okay! *huggs* & aww thank you for liking the TS. though i wished i had more time to work on it! T_T but yeah, once again. thank you SO MUCH for helping me cause i wanted this thread opened for DBSK's TD performace. however. like waht you said, the reason why the other thread hasn't been closed is because we're actually not quite done despamming that thread! *hides* but i guess we'll just keep both threads open for right now. unless a higher mod come by later to make this thread invisible..?? we'll see. lol

actually, i was expecting that Jae would sing his MAZE..but he was not..but a duet with JaeChun instead..but nvr mind..that\'s great too..at least we know that they have a new song already :) coool!

The song is really beautiful. That is really cute that it is the theme song to the 35th anniversary of Hello Kitty. I just can’t get enough of that song. JaeChun is so great in it.

Wow, it looks like the Tokyo Dome was AMAZING from just reading the fanaccount that Steph posted. I wish that I could have been there. I’m so going to buy the DVD for it! 60 dollars is so worth it. haha. Hopefully, I’ll have a job by then though. Then I can get all DBSK things I want!

JaeChun’s duet was really beautiful! It would be so great if they release a single for it so we can hear them clearly sing it. A group version would be great as well!! I love it as well too! I haven’t stopped listening to it!
