Five Treasure Island

F.T. Island (Korean: 에프티 아일랜드), Five Treasure Island, or FTI, is the name of the band . The name F.T. Island stands for 'Five Treasure Island', each of the five members being a treasure. The band's official color is sunshine yellow, and their fans carry yellow flags known as "pentasticks." Their debut album, Cheerful Sensibility, made the sixth best-selling album of 2007 in South Korea. Their official fanclub is "Primadonna".

Debut

FT Island Debut on M!Countdown
F.T. Island's first album was scheduled to be released commercially in May 2007. However, instead of releasing the album as planned, all of the members appeared on a television program called “Dugeun Dugeun Yeochinmandeulgi” (Korean: 두근두근 여친만들기) on the Korean television channel MNet. The program title is officially translated by MNet as "Wanna Be My Girlfriend?" although "두근두근" refers to the sound a heart makes. The band also performed on stage live at Rolling Hall and held their first official showcase at Live House Melon-AX, Gwangjang-dong in Seoul on May 27, 2007. On June 7, 2007 F.T. Island performed their debut song on the music television program M!Countdown. They received their first #1 M!Countdown and beat other top artists such as Dynamic Duo and Fly To The Sky just 2 weeks after debuting.

Rumors had been circulating that speculated that member Oh Won Bin would be leaving the group. On January 28, 2009, the rumors were confirmed as it was announced that he would indeed be leaving the group and would soon be replaced. It was announced a day later that F&C trainee Song Seung Hyun would be joining F.T. Island as a guitarist and backup vocalist, and that an album would be released in February.In the weekend of the 6th week, the Music Video of their Mini-Album title song "Bad Woman" was revealed online. They performed on SBS Inkigayo. Two days later was the official release date of the Mini-Album Jump Up.

FT Triple

A3 now known as FT Triple was first introduced in their Dream Concert in December 08. They named themselves A3 because the three members in it are all of Blood A type A3 was formed to help Hongki out since he was having throat problems at the time so to relieve him from most of the singing A3 was there to take away most of the pressure.
This year A3 changed their name to FT Triple since they still wanted to keep the F.T part in their name. F.T Triple is now a sub group of FT Island with members Lee Jaejin, Choi Jonghun and Choi Minhwan. They are taking different roles in the group now bass player Jaejin is now taking up vocals and guitar while guitar player Jonghun is now playing the piano. Minhwan is still playing the drums since you can’t really change that.
Their first single was titled "Love Letter" and was released with F.T. Island's 2CD repackaged album "Double Date" as part of the second CD "Two Date" which features all F.T. Triple songs.

yea tat's an idea... last time i was so desperate to decorate my folder and files with FT stuff..i printed a collage and printed my own stickers ! XD ... i can't wait to get to my dorm..hoepfulyl i'll be able to smuggled those posters over..haha..

i think they'd have ..they've gotta be interested in what regular enjoy online..speaking of online..i think i remember one of them saying they like online games? was it jaejin or minhwan? sine they shift apartmesnt so requently a laptop would be more portable..but of they play hardcore games ...then a laptop wouldn't be enough..

FT Island, “How About Betting Ice Cream On Wrestling Battles?”

FT Island will share with us stories on their music and lives in the coming episode of “MY 樂 STORY“.

FT Island is gaining lots of popularity along with the recent release of their 3rd album “Cross & Change“. It’s also their first time going on a 3 day 2 night vacation ever since their debut.

Creating a new paradigm in the current music industry, FT Island not only sings, the members are also active in emcee-ing, musicals and dramas. Though they have never been on any vacations since their debut, they have decided to go on one to reward themselves for the hard work they put in for their 3rd album.

FT Island had a short vacation at the beach. They shared thoughts and confided in one another; betting ice cream on wrestling battles on the beach, showing the strong ties of friendship between them. Things which we normally do not see on stage like members without make up as well as their playful side were all revealed.

FT Island’s “Splendid Vacation” on “MY 樂 STORY” will broadcast on 7th August at 10pm on tvN.

Yes, I made part 3 and it took me a long time too but my sister helped me so it wasn’t that hard. The mod was the one who archived part 2 and that reminded me that I didn’t put the old parts there so I did that.

When they were on Let’s sleep here tonight I think I remember seeing a computer? Or maybe not. I think it is Jaejin who likes playing online games since I remember Seung Hyun saying that he always like to win in them. If they have a laptop good for them than but I guess there is nothing wrong with them having a computer.

Me too! I usually like all FT songs though or other songs I listen too. There isn’t a song that I don’t like actually.

I also like his 16 dimensions answers they are different than what others would answer. He answers are really unpredictable but sometimes they can be so funny.

Yay, for Unit Bins! haha. I wanted to put a picture of him but there were only 5 big pictures aloud so that is why Minhwan’s picture is small. I posted episode 4 in the TS or well all of HI episodes!^^ Though I have yet to watch epi. 4 so I think I will do that now.
I like how Seung Hyun and Minhwan went the wrong way. They are cute. It reminds me of one episode in season 1 when they were walking around Japan and Jaejin was showing them the way. So he is their principal. He said that Jaejin got thinner. T_T Their principal is sweet though going to see Sonagi I can tell he really does care for the boys.

[News] 090807 FT Island, Clashing Schedules?

Fans are puzzled how FT Island can appear on two live programmes at the same time.

FT Island will be performing on both KBS Music Bank and Incheon Global City Festival on 7th August. The live broadcast of KBS Music Bank will start at 6.40pm while that of Incheon Global City Festival will start at 7.00pm.

It is almost impossible for the band to appear on both live programmes at similar time slots, however, Music Bank made it seem like it’s magic.

Their management company had an agreement with Music Bank’s personnel to have a pre-recording session for the band. Thereafter, they will make their way to Incheon for their next schedule. They also revealed that, most of the time, the band does not pre-record their performances unless it is a comeback or special stage. This time round, the band had to pre-record their performance because their busy schedule.

FT Island is much busier than before. They are making use of their spare time at waiting rooms to do magazine photoshoots and interviews.

Their new album is selling well and their title track “Barae” remains at top positions in various digital music charts.

I know I was looking back there as well and I also was remembering the discussions too. I remember when they had the wifey. I would have been one but it was at the time I was still discovering who my favorite was. Yeah, some of them haven’t been back it would be nice if the old members came back too. I don’t mind their engrish that much but the bass solo was pretty epic. Jaejin should have more of them!

Seung Hyun should have a monologue done than we can get to know more about him. Though I’m sure as time goes on we will learn more about him.

If Jaejin’s male fans ever come along our way than they can be billy goats. haha. Jinnie gaot! My sister thought of Goaters! Haha. I had no clue what to say to that. Minhwan would so be the winner if they were to wrestle. Though he might have to put some effort with Hongki and Jonghun since they have been working out. He just amazes me that he could beat all of 2PM!! It is nice that they had a vacation.

Should we have like a MUST SEE video list? Like have videos of FT that they just have to watch. I know there are tons of videos out there of them being awesome. haha. I was also thinking of putting all of their performances but than I thought that there would be too many and most would probably not be available anymore.
Also in Seung Hyun's profile I wanted to add a best point but I don't know what to put for him. His smile maybe? Or his 16 dimensionalness if that is a best point. haha.

I’m always looking forward to Seung Hyun’s rap and Jaejin’s but I want to see JaeHyun rap too! I was wondering if they were going to do the side way dance. I like Hongki’s outfit too. It is cute that Hongki always says guitar when it is time for Jonghun’s solo. It looks like they are all wearing the same pants?

for some reason my ears are musicallt atuned to pick out instruments above vocals automatically..so whenever i hear a song..the instruments would catch my ear first then the vocals..i always love it when i hear the steady beats of the bass..haha...tat's why i get pissed when i have to use those lousy earphones that don't have good bass support..wounds like someone hitting a frying pan with a stick..haha..

so happy today! i got to see F.T on music bank today at the exact time of air! i always thought KBS world airs music bank shows like 2 weeks behind or something cos tat's what i've previously been experiencing...haven't tuned in for months..then today felt like watching for no reason..and there FT was! but they weren't on at the said 6.40pm..they performed around 6.20pm? well 6.20pm my time..

and yea mary i think the must watch is a good idea..i recommend would be tat anti smoking campaign..and the 2009 litmus CF..owh and hana and makenaide's special stage...and tat one where they did a cover of romantic cat and maria...owh and and se7en's passion..must watch all those! AND remake of muse's our time is running out at madamme B's! wonbin was just toooooooooo awesome for words there..and jaejn's bass pure love!

Yay, I have been waiting for clips of these!:] The best part is that they are playing LIVE! It sounds so much better live too! Hongki’s voice and the live instruments are just pure awesome. I love what Seung Hyun does after he finishes his rap he has been doing that lately. His signature move! Jonghun and Jaejin switched positions. Jonghun’s solo wasn’t as loud as I hope it would be but it was still awesome!^^ YAY, JaeHyun rap too!! Awesome performance! Though the spazzy lights could have been better.

FT Island are lovely boys. haha. Minhwan is so short and cute!^^ I can’t wait until this is subbed so I can understand what they are saying and why they are laughing. I noticed they are into the ripped pants lately since they wore white ones that were ripped too. It kind of reminds me of After Love but not as ripped. Jaejin wore similar pants in Hangeul Island too when they were doing their photo shoot.

Oh! They are singing Make a Wish by Ellegarden! Hongki and his English! What a good way to practice his English by singing in it. The end was awesome though! I wasn’t expecting that.

In the end it was actually his bass that made me like him. haha. We probably did. I didn’t get into FT until December. I have my tv to thank for that! I even have their the first performance of them recorded.

I would F.T spazz during class even though I was supposed to be doing my work! haha. Well, if there was a computer in my class.

It was a good thing I knew or else we would have been waiting for part 3 for some time. We have to go as faster than we did in part 2.

I don’t notice the instruments until after I hear the song or unless I listen to vocals and the instruments. I never like using earphones but for the ipod have to use them. Though if I listen on my computer I don’t use them. I’m listening to them right now actually. haha.

They all do have monologues except for Seung Hyun. That is why they should have a monologue for him. I wonder if they would still do one for him though.

I’m just amazed at how strong Minhwan is for someone so young too and when I first saw his muscles I was shocked! haha. Arm wrestling a drummer would never have a good outcome like what happened to 2PM! haha. The first member Minhwan beat was also really strong and is buff and has a six-pack too! Drumming had done good for him.

Actually for that performance it was pre-recorded. Since they had another schedule to go to so they let them pre-record it. They are becoming so busy these days that they can’t even attend all of their schedules.

I’ll find those videos and put them on there then!

Tim was the one that caught my attention. I started liking Tim before I liked Jaejin. haha. That is too bad that you can’t record. Even though it is an old performance I will still watch it. haha.

Sometimes I would use my sister’s laptop if she lets me borrow it and then I can catch up with FT on there.

I hardly use my ipod anymore since I’m mostly at home and I just listen to it on the computer. I listen in my room so my parents don’t mind. haha. If they come in here they won’t say anything. My mom asked me if I wanted something FT Island cause I randomly said FT Island. haha. Then she said I can get whatever I want on Monday but I have to figure out what I want to get first.

He really is an unexplored treasure. I want a monologue from him now.

Funny how the guy he beat was also the oldest in the group too. haha. Though if they had a rematch I wonder what would happen. His arms much have gotten bigger by now.

They show music bank on Saturdays over here so maybe if I watch it I’ll see them too it might not be on the same day but I don’t mind as long as I can see them on tv. haha. Why are you going to have to leave that channel?

They are still nice to watch but I’m glad that they are having their newer performances as well. They have so many performances already.
I have a ton of pictures of FT and videos and I still have a ton of space but I mostly save them on my computer not my sister’s laptop. Though I do send her pictures of them from time to time.

My computer is in my room so no one is really bothered by it. It always sucks when earphones don’t work happens to my sister all the time. haha. I know and it was so random because I never asked her for anything she asked me. What I really want is their 2nd Year Photo book but I can’t get that. Maybe I’ll just settle getting their 3rd album.

They both probably have gotten stronger. They should definitely have an every1idol reunion. I want to see FT Island & 2PM again. Actually recently Seung Hyun gave one of the members their album.

That is too bad but at least there is the internet! I wouldn’t mind not having tv if I have the internet than all is good. haha. Yea, it has inkigayo and mnet so you can watch it live there. I would watch them live but the time they have their performances I’m already sleeping.

Jonghun on acoustic! I love it!

For some reason I always imagined Jonghun, Seung Hyun and Jaejin as backup singers while Hongki sings. This is way better though!! Jaejin should come out with a trot single like Daesung.

Jaejin is all sparkly! That is sure to get everyone’s attention. Seung Hyun looks so cute in his hat. Hongki looks fabulous in his outfit though.

Have you seen their latest performance? Jaejin sings trot! It is so funny but I love it. Jaejin really does have a great voice as well and it is good that we can hear him sing more. I think that being in Sonagi really helped Jaejin and his voice since he would have rehearsal. My sister was the one who put his rap part on my cell phone. Now every time someone calls me I hear Jaejin’s rap.
His voice is so nice to hear and it is soothing. I hope that they have a special stage again and have Jaejin sing. The audio is probably isn’t in sync so it the music and his mouth aren’t together.
They are such good partners! I was so happy when they had the special stage together. I think Jaejin sings more than Seung Hyun in their new album. Even though Hongki does sing most of time Jaejin sings too. I’m not sure as to why they don’t let Minhwan sing more but they should.
It was a good idea that Jonghun decided to change his hair a lot of people totally love it. haha. Which is saying something since his hair has always been an issue to many. We could see Jongki more since they also made their comeback. Though Hyunnie Bunny is showed a lot more.
I also hope that they will have a big success again as well. haha. I know I could not stop laughing when he said that he wanted underwear as a present.

FT Island gets involved in plagiarism issues with song from their new album.

According to a particular discussion forum, there were criticisms saying that “Bing Bing Bing“, song from FT Island’s 3rd album, resembles English band, McFly’s “Five Colours In Her Hair“.

Some netizens uploaded both songs on blogs and communities, and pointed out that the interlude for both songs are similar.

However, based on the tele-conversation between FT Island’s management and one of the reporters, they revealed that they “didn’t know about it” and that they will investigate the issue and give their stand.

According to the Korea Music Copyright Association, the composer for “Bing Bing Bing” was registered under the name “HOONY”, and without any statements of samplings or remakes of the song.

Do not hotlink and takeout only with proper credits.

Holy Island! I laughed so hard when I watched Jaejin singing trot. He is pretty good at it and I also think he should come out with a trot song too. Jaejin looks like someone who should sing trot. It is because of his look so that is why I think that. I love the three back up singers too.

Seunghyun why the heck are you so HOT? Really now this boy has been getting my attention as of late. After watching the Fire performance he now has ALL of my attention. Don’t worry Chicken boy I still love you lots!

I LOVE Jaejin and Seunghyun’s performance together! I have watched it so many times already. Seunghyun is still adorable even when he forgot a line. Jaejin’s voice is just so wonderful to hear too. Grown up acting like kids!xD I’ll have you know here they are still kids! haha.
Gosh, they said their age in Korea and when they do that it makes them older than me! Except for Seung Hyun and Minhwan since they say 18 we are the same age but then when Seung Hyun’s birthday comes he will be older than me! Though in reality I’m older than him! haha.
Hongki knew Minhwan the longest out of them all! haha. I would assume since Minhwan knew about Hongki when he was an actor.
Minhwan should talk more! I like when he talks. It must be hard that they have to hand sync all of the time. I’m glad sketchbook gave them the opportunity to play live so I’m following Minhwan and also saying thank you!

[News] 090810 FT Island’s One-Day Date With 17-Year Old Fans

FT Island kept their promise to go on a date with their fans and two lucky winners had their dreams come true.

FT Island had a one-day date with the Dream Ticket holders. This Dream Ticket that was inserted in their new album “Cross & Change“, entitles the winner to go on a one-day date with FT Island.

Two lucky Dream Ticket holders had their date with FT Island on the 7th. Both aged 17, the two school girls bought the albums containing the Dream Tickets at Chungcheong-do & Seoul respectively. The girls were surprised to find the yellow ticket inside the album. They have only heard about the Dream Ticket by word of mouth and they were very happy to know that they were the lucky ones.

When asked if they felt awkward with the members or towards the other fans, they said that they had prepared things that they wanted to say to the members. They were also worried about meeting the other fans. The girls received flower bouquets and they also went around with FT Island in their van, to music show rehearsals and other schedules.

After the event, FT Island members expressed that, “It was a pity that we couldn’t do many things together because of our schedule. It was a chance to interact with our fans closely.” The members also felt sorry as they wanted to give the girls a treat, however, they only had packed food for dinner.

FT Island’s management company also mentioned that, “After adjusting their schedules, we will plan for the second date. We are unable to reveal the total number of Dream Tickets.”

FT Island will have a cameo appearance in SBS weekend drama “Style“.

FT Island was at Itaewon on 10th August to do their filming for the drama “Style“. Because of their good relationship with lead actor, Ryu Siwon, the members get to appear in the drama as VIP of an event. The glamarious visuals and fashion sense caught the attention of many.

In this scene, FT Island attended fashion magazine “Style“’s 200th issue commemorative party as VIP. They entered on a red carpet and also performed their title song “Barae” to celebrate the happy occasion.

FT Island members, Choi Minhwan, Lee Jaejin, Lee Hongki and Choi Jonghoon had previous experience of acting in dramas, sitcoms, etc but this is the first time for member, Song Seunghyun. It has also been quite some time since the members last appeared in TV dramas and they expressed that, “Though we were nervous, it was enjoyable filming on stage.”

[News] 090810 FT Island, “Misunderstanding Caused By Similar Guitar Riffs”

5 member band, FT Island, gets involved in plagiarism issues.

Some netizens pointed out that “Bing Bing Bing“, song from FT Island’s 3rd album, resembles English band, McFly’s “Five Colours In Her Hair“. However, it was said that the composer for “Bing Bing Bing” is HOONY and the song is genuinely original.

According to the tele-conversation with Newsen on 10th August, spokesperson from FT Island’s management company explained that, “We have checked with the composer. The guitar riffs for both songs are similar and that’s what caused the misunderstanding.”

The spokesperson also said that, “Just like how in most Bossanova songs, the guitar riffs are similar, Rock ‘n’ Roll is also the same,” he explained, “The melody is different. It’s just the guitar riffs that feels similar.”

FT Island is currently promoting their title song “Barae”.

I was watching FT Island & 2PM Every1 Idol because I felt like it. haha. They are just so hilarious when they are together. I noticed all of the names that start with J! Jaejin, Jonghun, Jaebeom, Junsu, Junho! I was like that is enough to start their own band.

The two leaders going against each other and it was so funny when Chansung went to him and Jonghun thought he got picked only to turn to see who it was. haha. 2PM was all surprised when Jonghun came out when they said for the leaders too but then Jonghun was surprised when they said who the magnae was. haha. Though it was cute when Jonghun and Chansung were playing with the camera. Then we have Minhwan and Junho the two Bi look alike. They are just so cute when they were together. Minhwan beating all members in arm wrestling and when he went up against Jae he was like nodding his head and then he beat him like it was nothing. It was interesting seeing the 2 magnaes go against each other because Chansung is like super tall and then Minhwan is so short. Though 2PM is older than all of the FT members but the Chansung is the same age as Hongki and Jonghun but then since FT has been around much longer they called them their seniors. Wooyoung should have done his ssanti dance maybe Minhwan would have copied that! haha. I would be laughing so hard if he did that but his dance was so adorable.
I want to see each other again but then I heard that 2PM was going to make a cameo in the drama Style and FT Island too! So I was like yay maybe we will see them together. I really hope that they will be together.
Also since FT Island is going to be in Star King and Wooyung and Khun are on it maybe we will see them talk to each or do something together.

Can’t wait to see them on this recent Star King. I wonder what they are going to do there. I saw Seung Hyun put on an apron or something that looked like one so who knows what they might be doing.

Yup, they have almost everything of them on there now if only there was one with FT Island so that we can see all their performances and everything else that is of them.

I wonder when their next concert is going to be! They still have yet to finish their Asian Tour as well!! Maybe when they are done going to all of the places that they are going to go to they will have their Asian Tour on DVD! That would be cool.

I want to get a laptop too so I can do all FT things on there though my computer is all right but a laptop would be better. That will take a long time for me to get one though.

They should have a twitter!! That would be so awesome if they did and they should update it in English so we know what they are saying and they can learn their English too. I know music bank has a twitter and it updates with FT pics sometimes.

[News] 090811 FT Island’s Lee Hongki, Musical Debut

FT Isand’s vocal, Lee Hongki will make his musical debut in “A Midsummer Night’s Dream“. This musical will be staged at Kyung Hee University’s Santuary of Peace, from 26th to 31st August.

This romantic comedy, written by Shakespeare, portrays 4 young lovers and their funny interactions with the fairies in a moonlit jungle. This musical will have a much lighter atmosphere.

The musical will be one of the celebratory events for Kyung Hee University’s 60 years anniversary. Besides Lee Hongki, actors who graduated from the Theatre and Film Faculty like, Jeon Jaehyung, Jung Inji, Choi Eunseok and others will also starr in the musical.

The director of this musical is Kim Hakmin, professor of Kyung Hee University’s Theatre and Film Faculty. He had previously starred in musicals like “Phantom of the Opera” and “Miss Saigon“. The music director is Won Misol, who participated in musicals like “Grease” and “Dream Girls“.

The university extends free invitations to residents in the area as well as people with low status. Part of the earnings from the musical will go to scholarship funds to help the needy students.

Also it seems that the boys are going to have their 3rd Japanese single coming out in October. I noticed FT Island came out with their 3rd album now they are coming out with their 3rd Japanese single and we are on their 3rd thread! So who thinks we can make it to part 4 before they have their 4th album and their Japanese 4th single?

I’m always watching that episode since it is just way too funny! I wish that FT Island had a full season on every1 idol and then after that they could have gotten 2PM to be on it. What Hongki did with his tongue was so interesting.

Maybe next week you can devote a whole day to FT watching.

Let us do try and see what we can do. We may not get everything FT since they might not have some things but the ones we do get will be fine and there will be a lot too.

They should do an asian tour dvd!! I would so get it and then we can see them in all the different places. Though they still haven’t gone to Taiwan and China yet. Then hopefully in December they will have a Cross & Change concert and then have a dvd of it.

It would be better to have your own laptop.

Actually most Korean artist update their twitter in English so maybe FT would do the same too but if they did write in Korean than that is ok too. haha. We can write things in English to them but it would be so funny if they are trying to figure out what it says. I would definitely follow music bank’s twitter since they update with FT pics from time to time.

Wonbin would have preferred if they did the rock version of pretty girl during their rock concert dvd.

Seconldy i am wanna say that im glad hangeul Island is back and this time Seung Hyun is there to join them. Jae Jin said that Seungie is really smart so i wonder if that means his japanese is really good now like how Won Bin's used to be

I wouldn’t be all that surprised if Seung Hyun’s Japanese is really good by now. Seung Hyun was good at speaking Japanese when he spoke it in Hangeul Island.
I couldn’t believe that they were said to plagiarize not one but two songs. I thought this wouldn’t happen to them. FT should write and make their music.
I Hope should be no. 1 since they are done so hopefully they will be no. 1 soon.

yesh i'm working hard to get all my stuff done this week so next week i'll have less to do and i can devote at least one whole day to FT vids..

i can't WAIT for a new concert! wonder what sort of a solo seunghyun would be doing..and now that jaejin's vocals have improved so much...ah.!!...

well now my budget's been cut..cause i didn't get the most preferred results..i found a cheaper one with almost the same specs...but the thing is ..the screen's oni 14".. which means smaller screen to see FT on...damn..i wanted to top up the amount dad's willing to pay but dad was like "no take it or leave it" ..well at least tat's better than taking over his laptop..

ah..the snsd girls actually occasionally visit soshified! how awesome..if oni FT visits their internatinal forums occasionally tooo...lol when FT do have their own twitter and when we write things to them in english..junghoon better like us more than his uni english lecturer ! lmao .. XD

Just the album for now cause my brother and sister’s birthday are this month if she spends all her money on me than they won’t get anything!xD haha. I mustn’t tell them either or else they’ll get mad cause I’m also getting something even though my birthday already past.

It would be nice to just devote everyday to FT videos it would be a whole lot better than doing anything else.

I also can’t wait for their concert too!! Seung Hyun should play the piano even though Jonghun could be doing that but I want to see him play. Jaejin should also play guitar since he knows too as well.

That is too bad but it is better than nothing. I won’t be getting a laptop for who knows how long that will be.

FT should visit us here!! haha. That would be so great if they did. Jonghun probably will like us better since we won’t be lecturing. Haha. I wonder what the fans would write to them in English. haha. Who knows what they might come up with.
