A digital single was released as well as 4000 hard cased copies were given away to fans that attended the ANYBAND showcase. Songs included, 'Talk. Play. Love.', 'Promise U', and 'Daydream'. Junsu had written the Korean lyrics for 'Daydream'.

Xiah Junsu's vocal prowess (inherited from his mother, who used to be a singer) was discovered at the age of 12 when he auditioned for SM Entertainment through the Starlight Casting System televised talent search, with Moon Hee Jun and Kangta from H.O.T. as judges. Xiah wanted to be a soccer player but after seeing H.O.T perform the song Candy on TV, his new dream was to sing on stage. A year after, Xiah's best friend Hyukjae also made it into SM.

After entering SM, he begin his training for his future ahead. After three years, a 3 member RnB group was planned with Xiah, Hyukjae and fellow schoolmate Sungmin as the member. However, Xiah's voice change started as he went through puberty and that caused him to be unable to sing. Because of this, he lost several opportunities to debut. Xiah has often felt it was his fault that his other members could not debut as well, even though others have often tried to console him.

Xiah's voice change continued way longer than an average boy's. While the time was usually 6 months to a year, Xiah's lasted 3 years. During this time, Xiah could not sing and reach notes he could before. His frustration grew to a max when a visit to the doctor told him that he should stop singing until his voice change was over. Xiah could not accept this and would yell out songs and notes he could not sing anymore to counter his feelings. Looking back, Xiah thinks this caused damage to his voice and contributed to his special high-pitched speaking voice.

When his voice change ended, SM was planning the creation a new group. Xiah was the first member to be chosen for this group. His talent in vocal and dance made him one of the best trainees at the time. The other four members were also leaders in their respective training groups. While the group was still being created, Xiah's personality allowed him to quickly make friends with his new members.

Six years after Xiah first joined SM, he debuted as a member of TVXQ on December 26, 2003 during a BoA and Britney Spears Showcase with their debut single Hug.

Junsu went through a lot of tough times during training days, despite the fact that he was one of the best trainees. Once his voice went away, a lot of people who were jealous were all stumping on him. That was his darkest time.

Junsu's very strong and independent even though he acts cute in front of the camera, but off the camera he's much more mature than he appears to be on camera. It's said that if SM has plan for them to go solo, Junsu would make the first solo debut. Junsu holds himself and others to very high standards when it comes to music, he doesn't allow himself to make any mistake.. a perfecionist. Eun Hyuk of SUJU is Junsu's best, he will kick others butt for Junsu. Once during trainee days, someone was making fun of Junsu, Eun Hyuk came in and slapped him.

XIAH & HYUKJAE [EUNHYUK of SUJU = Junsu's best friend since childhood]

Xiah and Lee Hyukjae first met when they were in grade 5. They both shared a love of soccer and music and that's what drew them to each other. At school, they were seen as the "guys" of the school and were constantly together. They "ostracized" the rest of the school as they preferred to hang out with each other.

As they grew up, they went to the same middle and high school. Although not always in the same class, their friendship remained strong. When Xiah made it into SM and Hyukjae did not, their friendship was not affected. Hyukjae was happy for his friend, even though he was left out. However, a year later, Hyukjae also made it into SM through the same Starlight Casting System that found Xiah.

In 2005, the group Super Junior debuted. Hyukjae debuted in this 13 member boy group as Eunhyuk. He had to create this stage name because another celebrity shares his real name. During the time of their first debut performance, Xiah was busy with TVXQ activities. However, he didn't want to miss it, so he called his mother and asked her to put the phone next to the tv so he could hear.

Although close friends, Eunhyuk and Xiah love to bicker. Everyone knows this. During a Sukira radio broadcast in 2006 when TVXQ were guests (right after O's release), everyone expected the results. Max even stated he was worried about what would happen. Sure enough, Eunhyuk and Xiah started bickering on air and throwing insults at each other.

When Super Junior's car crash in May 2007 happened in China and Eunhyuk, Eeteuk, Shindong and Kyuhyun were the victims, Xiah was in Japan. He first heard the news indirectly and couldn't rest until he found out more. As soon as Eunhyuk could, he called Xiah from the hospital.

During Super Junior's SBS Exploration of the Human Body variety show, episodes 9 and 10, TVXQ were guests. Eunhyuk and Xiah could be seen always together and hanged out off camera. It's been a while since TVXQ were back in Korea and the two friends missed each other.

The sexiest and hoarsest voice in TVXQ. Xiah Junsu's strength is in being able to broaden the range of music TVXQ can do, and that is an undeniable fact.

Performance: ****
Rather than saying it was an emotionally-charged performance, it is more accurate to say that it was dramatic singing. The song was also presented well, and was able to touch the audience in all areas.

Volume: ***
Xiah Junsu has a rather quieter voice. There also is not much difference between his low and high notes. This can be seen clearly in his duet with Zhang Liyin, "Timeless".

Overall: ****
His song attracts more attention compared to "idols". He does not do so through an extremely powerful voice, but by strengthening TVXQ's performance in songs. Therefore, reviews will be different if he does have a solo album in future.

A falsetto was used during the higher notes, and his voice seemed to sound weaker. But his other high notes were powerful as Xiah used a voice similar to his normal singing voice. His voice is a penetrating and husky one, thus this gives him an advantage when performing SM songs and makes his voice more charming as well.

Performance: ***.5
Although the techniques used in the various ranges of notes are very well practised, the emotional handling of the song was a little too much. Overuse of vibrato became a bad point instead.

Volume: *****
This is more of an achievement from practise instead of a talent. A high volume is critical to achieveing a powerful voice. The ability to maintain this volume when performing a song and dancing at the same time makes the performance a lot stronger. He really did very well in this aspect.

Overall: ****.5
It'd do him wrong to just call him an "idol". He is really a good singer with a strong foundation. There is no vibration when he sings the high notes, and he does have an obvious advantage over the average singer when it comes to certain singing techniques. The performance would've been perfect if he could control the vibration during the more emotional parts of the song.

He has also received a lot of training in performing. A lot of planning on how to deliver the song was done. However, there was a little too much influence from SM's impact and vibration style. It could be classified as over-expressing. Watching and learning from singers outside of the company and practising from there may be a good thing as well.

Volume: ****
To a singer, singing and dancing at the same time is extremely difficult. Not only is a long period of training required, breathing control is important as well. And, the volume remains high even during the high notes.

Overall: ****
There is talent as well as sufficient training, therefore the overall feeling is good. The only bad point is there was an overuse of vibration. However, changing this would be hard due to the influence of TVXQ's music.

The April issue of men's fashion magazine "Arena" judged the talents of the main vocals of idol groups. Group DongBangShinGi's Xiah JunSu received the highest praise, SoNyuhShiDae's TaeYeon and Wonder Girls' SunYe were given similar marks. The judging was done by singer Kim YunWoo, pop music critic Cha WooJin, and M.Net's Park ChanWook PD. The three said of Xiah JunSu's voice, "The reason why his vocal does not exceptionally stand out is because of DongBangShinGi's songs," and "He is a commendable vocalist who we feel sorry to label as an idol singer." Kim YunWoo said, "He gives a nice feel of having talent as well as having received much training."

Although not as skilled in comparison with Xiah JunSu, Shinee's JongHyun received positive feedback. They stated, "He is a singer whose next step we are anticipating more than his current stand," and "JongHyun's vocal is one of the reasons why Shinee succeeded."

TaeYeon and SunYe, who are receiving much interest and attention as members of rival groups Soh Nyuh Shi Dae and Wonder Girls, received positive criticism. They said of TaeYeon, "She knows how to cover up her weaknesses well," and "She has a plain tone but has an ability to make it noticeable. You can say she is fox-like vocal." Of SunYe they said, "She has the most mature voice out of the Wonder Girls and she utilizes good breathing technique and intuitively matches the her singing to each song."

Xiah JunSu's, JongHyun's, and TaeYeon's high marks are largely due to SM Entertainment's strict vocal training. With H.O.T., SM created symbolic first-generation idol groups with the focus on their outward appearances, but strove hard to find idol singers with skills.

The strong opinion on BoA and Xiah JunSu is that they, at the very least, have surpassed the level of idol singers who rely on the power of catchy songs. Thanks to composing and lyric-writing, idols brushing past fundamental creational training to turn into soloists is one of SM's methods.

On the other hand, they said of SS501's Huh YoungSeng, "It appears that he has talent, but he is incomplete in effort. The degree to which he is lacking is severe." In comparison with Xiah JunSu, who is a member of what could be seen as rival group DongBangShinGi, he is of average level. They also said of Super Junior's RyeoWook, "He only sings the high parts within Super Junior, he is unable to show personal color," and of Big Bang's DaeSung, "He tends to overconfidently sing high-pitched parts but he needs to grow the power to control such sounds," and gave low marks.

ok, back to Junsu. as usual Ying, you're so critical of Junsu. if you watched CTP which im sure you didnt, Junsu said so himself that he doesnt like to dress up and buy clothes, hence the recycled outfit. that's one of the things what i like in him, he will not dress up just to impress the people around him. hmp! meanie!

janelle, is that really junsu in the airport? he looks hot and so fresh. his aura is different this time, something different about him hehe, maybe coz his skin and charisma is glowing. If there's one good thing about this ordeal, is that junsu was able to rest and be with his family. Junsu looks calm and so appealing.

fritz, whoa! JaeChunSu at the top search for ameba ranking? hahaha.. true, he really looks hot. and i let Rox see the airport pics of Junsu, and she was like "that's really Junsu?"

she's on hiatus for so long that she's so surprised to see Junsu's hottie look. actually all the three of them looked annoyed at the airport. if you can see Changmin was kinda smirking while looking at the sides with all those girls tagging/touching him. HoSu was pushed that they have to stopped walking and cant get out of the airport doors. lol.

mystery_me, you dyed your hair same color as Junsu? then changed it again to dark brown, coz i think that's the color of Junsu's hair now. hahaha.. you like the new hairstyle at the airport pics? so similar to his O hair and im loving it so much.

Junsu as the Online Game Master
Junsu is really crazy about playing computer game, but how much does he love to do it? In Korea, many people are actively playing online games with their friends and Junsu is one of them. He plays a lot whether he is in Korea, Japan or elsewhere. The thing is, Junsu used to be a top ranking game player of the online game called Granado Espada. For you who don’t know about the online game, it is a 3D fantasy role playing game based on medieval Europe, and usually players form a group or a guild with other players. Junsu was a team leader of the powerful, famous guild called “Cross Party”. The below are known as the characters played by Junsu himself, and his game items, which are quite rare and very expensive (Much more than 16000 USD) He even borrowed his brother Junho’s account to make a posting online. (He enjoys to have a lots of talking about game with his bro, via phone)

Now, he quitted this game, (People said he was like a legendary player, wondering how he managed to be a top ranking player of the game, as a member of TVXQ who has to deal with the hard schedule, meaning he wouldn’t even have much time for sleeping. This somewhat gave us a conclusion that there are mainly four components that consist of Junsu’s life : Playing Soccer, Playing Online Game, and Singing and Dancing. ) and moved to the different gamed called “Aion”, another popular online game all members of TVXQ and their manager are playing. (It is probably Junsu who persuaded them to play with him.) These days, Jaejoong seem to get interested in playing online games, and was very proud to say “I was ranked as 0.01% of the game I’ve been playing.” (*pats Jaejoong’s head*)

Though this is not directly related to TVXQ, but some members of SuperJunior and Minho from Shinee loves playing online games together.

One more thing. Junsu addresses how thankful the “Cross Party” 십자가당” was, on the “Thanks to” part of the Album Jacket.

- Junsu cannot eat neither very hot nor cold food. He can hardly eat a hard ice-cream so he prefers to have an soft ice-cream with a spoon.

- Junsu doesn’t even have a bite after 6 PM

- Junsu’s Korean pronunciation, in fact, is very unique for native speakers. He can’t properly pronounce the Korean word with “s”.

- Junsu is generally considered a very self-oriented person. It doesn’t mean that he is a selfish person, but he is careless about other’s perspectives. He is kind, positive and nice guy, yet he cares about his people only. (That’s why Junsu is often described as a guy of freedom or something like that, in Japan.) And this is quite contrast to Jaejoong and Yoonho, who love to get to know new people. Some said that’s the reason why Junsu used to mainly hang out with Yoonho until their 2nd Korean album.

- When Jaejoong and Junsu shared their room, Jaejoong put his clothing on the bed, so he ended up sleeping on the floor. Junsu once in desperate tone said, ” I really wanna see Jaejoong sleeping next to me on the bed (,not his clothing).”

- While sleeping, Changmin dreamed of having a fight with Junsu. Then he unconsciously began to hit the wall until he got himself hurt (He was bleeding.) Junsu, who saw how Changmin hit the wall so strongly, could not get a proper sleep on that night.

- Junsu once got his birthday present from the member, and that present was T-shirt printed as “Sorry Girls, I am Gay.” He got really surprised at that time.

- Junsu and his best friend Hyuk Jae from Super Junior got dressed in female attire when they were high school students.

- Junsu believed in Santa Claus until he was 14. Junsu used to laugh at the kindergarten students who do not believe in Santa.

- Junsu loves palm tress so much that Yoonho calls him an abnormal person.

- Junsu never calls Jaejoong “Jaejoongihyung”, but “YoungWoongihyung.” after he found out Jaejoong is actually older than him. Junsu used to call his name Jaejoong, but Jaejoong really didn’t say a word about that. (Hyung means “older brother”.)

- Junsu was very close to making a debut on the year BoA made her debut.

- When Junsu went to the school trip with HyukJae from SJ, HyukJae let Junsu to get some snacks from girls (Girls and Boys were sleeping in separate places). Then Junsu went to the girls’ dorm room, and did some cute things as a mean of begging for snacks.

- Junsu sometimes accidently calls Changmin “ChangminHyung”. In fact he often makes some mistakes with the title.

- Junsu is likely to spill things a lot when eating. Hence, Junsu needed his own bib to have a meal before the concert.

the JUNSU PAJU catch my eyes so much so i search in naver to see what it is.

the latest information about PAJU i found is 090809's schedule for HoSuMin,
it said "Junsu : Paju, PC room........"
i don't under stand it much, might be he went to Paju for pc room or he went to Paju to do something and then went to pc room later.

ps. they also mentioned Changmin went to SBS for reading scripts.

what's a PAJU exactly?
it's getting confusing. if it says about workshop then i think it's pretty fine. but what for?
is acting on his way now? ouch..i..uhm..really don't ship to that much.

i just hope they give out Junsu some little privacy. for once, i hope they'll let Junsu be himself. Alone..with his family and friends.
i believe it's worrying him also. seeing his fans also in that state makes him worry.
you know when things get awfully tiring, it is best to seek for silence. most of the times the loudest lessons are found at the most corners of our lives.

Thought I would drop by and make my first post ever in this thread (wahahahaha)

anyway, I found out what 파주작업실 means (more or less)

Paju stands for a city... in Gyeongi (where junsu was born)
And workshop means more on workshops such as pottery ones, or even those places with artworks.

I do remember that such a search term popped out in july too and it was related to junsu,

Anyway, so I do believe that Junsu went to the paju's art valley... in fact I think he did visit there for his vacation too (cause i remember the search words also had yoochun's goong). Maybe his hometown is in Paju or maybe it's just his new house or something! (since Paju is in Gyeongi -which is very big)

up till now, i still can't understand how is junsu an uncle. his cousins' children?

dating and marriage being the same thing...i don't think this applies anymore. probably back then, he was still naive and young. that's why he said those things. well, i guess at one point in our younger days, we always wished that the person we date will end up being our spouse.

poor junsu...it's raining MP3 for him. he won't get wet but he'll get bumps on his head.

i agree with you. it's hard to choose favorite junsu's performance because his performance always great
