Recently, there has been a lot of accusations and problems concerning GD's first solo album "Heartbreaker". People have have made up a list of the songs he had plagiarized:

Heartbreaker - Flo-Rida's Right Round
Butterfly - Oasis' She's Electric
Sonyeoniyeo (Boy) - Katharine McPhee's Not Ur Girl
The Leader - SNSD's Gee / Snoop Dogg feat. Pharrell's Drop It Like It's Hot
Hello - Dynamic Duo's Solo
Gossip Man - IU's Boo
She's Gone - Joosuk feat. Def Con's Answer
Korean Dream - 45RPM's Saljjagkoong
Illyeonjeonggeojang (Year 1 Station) - Kiwi's Ibyeoreseo Ibyeolggaji

Right now, the biggest issues are Heartbreaker and Butterfly, with the big music companies deciding whether or not it is true plagiarism.




Personally, I don't really think it's plagiarism. Just because 2 line sound the same does not mean the whole song is plagiarized. For Heartbreaker and Butterfly, I can sorta see where people found the similarities, but to say The Leader plagiarized GEE is going too far. I'm pretty sure GD wrote that one line on purpose.

Ugh, I don't even know what to say.

People are always doubting him because he's such a genius! And people always doubt geniuses. Ever since Lies, people have said he plagiarized along with many other songs he wrote for Big Bang (ex: Crazy Dog, Last Farewell, etc.), but in the end, he's always proven innocent. The original artists have all come out & said that GD didn't copy their songs.

And that list of songs is SUCH SH-T. I can hear the similarities between Heartbreaker & Right Round, but all those other ones is just going too far. Especially The Leaders & Gee...GD wrote that one line on purpose, ugh. Netizens just don't have anything better to do & in the end, GD will be proven innocent as always.

I don't really think GD would plagiarize a song so popular especially in Korea and release it in the same place. Korean netizens would catch it the second it appeared on 2NE1 tv.

I don't think he plagiarized to be honest, they're different enough? I can see similarities but so many songs sound a like to me right now.

However, it does kinda change my opinion about his talent...cause he has a LOT of these rumors and they exist for a reason...I don't think he's that creative... A lot of people like to praise him because he's "different" when this kinda proves he just draws inspiration from so many people. It's not really his "own". Like Lies I thought, oh it's really creative and very catchy! But that got a lot of plagiarism claims too.

And his fans need to stop the overreacting and aggressive defensiveness it's really annoying. Especially on Youtube (yea I know, it's like the armpit of the internet...) and they even went and insulted Oasis. You DO NOT do that.

^ i agree. i can see the similarities but i wont go as far as saying it IS plagiarism. i dont doubt Ji's abilties based on mere rumours but everything seems to shady. The fact that YG always stands up to say that you know "oh gdragon composed ---- & -----" and then fans naturally go all "woah oppa is so talented" talk, and then it turns out that so and so also participated in the composition.
idk, but it seems YG is trying to make G dragon seem more of a genius and overrate him? its really shady too what YG is saying....

But another thing is his fashion sense. personal preferences aside about freaky hairdos and ugly outfits the major issue is that this boy has GOT to THINK and RECONSIDER what he is wearing. is it really appropriate? Again, not once but twice now has mr fashionstar been up on headlines for his clothes. Its disturbing and something certainly he shouldn't be wearing 'those' outfits for public formal events or tv shows. not to mention his recent finger gestures up at cameras.

Really? I thought it was only that 1 song that Lies sounded similar.
It's not just his fans, every celeb has fans out there who thinks that their idols are gods.
Quite a few fans thought that GD had originally composed This Love when Maroon 5 were the first to come out with it.

Tbh, he probably didn't even realize that the camera was going to be following the girls hence he probably would have changed. Since its a reality show, they can't really edit it out.
About his hand gesture, I saw the uncensored picture and he had both his middle finger and pinky up.

LOL SNSD should be thankful that somebody in the singing industry has their lyrics in their song. It's acknowledging how popular the song is, as somebody said.

i dont actually watch 2ne1 tv to make comments that im definite of, nor do I know how these programs are recorded and all. But i think reality tv show or not, directors and YG should have the decency to go edit these parts out. Or at least g dragon himself would have enough logic to go change out of the shirt and then perhaps resume filming.
i dont want to make a big deal out of his clothes cause i know hes legit to wearing what he wants, but considering like i said Ji isnt new to this type of news, its worrying me that hes making it into a habit? I know they blurred it out on that occasion, but im guessing from now on we all would be expecting more blurs everytime G dragon comes up with his sudden urge to wear these kind of clothing again. Of course this isnt solely hes fault cause the editors & YG are to be blamed too, but at the end of the day he did wear it on his own according.
though what bothers me more is that most fans are brushing it off like dust and then turning around to lash at netizens who do find this inappropriate.

I think his whole concept was stolen from people...
he was my favorite in big bang (big bang is still one of my favorite bands to this day) but even i couldnt defend him.,
when it was just one accusation i could stand by him but when more than half of his songs are
"Similar" to other songs then u kow something is up.

I agree with many people above. You could brush it off and say, "oh it's just coincidence" or the like when such accusation only happened once. But now it's quite a number of times. Some, I totally couldn't care less. It's very obvious that people are making a big deal by listing out so-called similar songs for the WHOLE of his album. However, you can't deny that there are some songs, now and then, have similarities with existing ones. Well, Ji Yong may not be the one to be blamed, but it's a pity that he's under a company that doesn't seem to give clear enough explanation or proof to clear Ji Yong's name.

I am so not a fan of his fashion sense. I really miss the Ji Yong with a more "ordinary" look. Nowadays his styles have evolved into somewhat... eccentric and... odd. It's not punk, it's not hip hop, it's not rock... I don't know what concept is he adopting. It's something like Lady GaGa but at least Lady GaGa doesn't look like she's overdoing it. When I first heard that Ji Yong is coming out with a new album I didn't expect blond hair to be visible.

i love big bang and their songs but a lot of them do like sound a lot like American songs
with Heartbreaker and Right Round, i think its pretty obvious that their is some definite copying. I do think Gdragon gets more credit then he deserves, if he really is innocent he should come out and say it. If he did do it, that would be a very big let down.
Also with his new look, i think hes trying a bit to hard

I dont know about the plagarism issues,but personally,I'm quite disappointed with GD's solo album.I expected better,i think,but none of the songs in the album strike me the way his older songs did.

They seem quite forgettable,actually.Actually,hmm,I'm not only disappointed with GD but also with the whole direction YG is going.It has always been more of generic hiphop aimed at the mainstream,but really,i'm not fond of the autotuned nor at the noisy songs.GD's lyrical talents havent exactly been going anywhere or improving either.Perhaps he is running dry,but the lyrics dont seem to be really meaningful,like say...sunset glow.They dont seem to be very creative either,so yeah.

He needs to go back to his old style,and the music during BB's earlier days.if GD continues on,I might just stop listening to Big Bang,regardless of personality.

i laugh at the comments where his fans say he looks good nowadays. im sure we all know he has the potential to look good but as of now.... its evdient to alot of people; despite it not being said, that in alot of ways he looks hideous. blonde doesnt look good on him. and makeup....*shrudders*

i was another one of those fangirls who got so disappointed with his album. kpop is rather boring these days with everyone gone and i was really looking forward to something new and for me it was major flop. and its annoying me that his songs arent good yet hes up there taking all the awards. i think there are more artists who have produced good songs and deserve to receive the awards.
its a shame is fanbase is so loyal and big and.......bias><

I mean its kinda hard to say because he's a really talented person but Heart Breaker really does sound like Right Round. I think I'm personally just stuck in the middle. It's just really hard to say whether he does or doesn't. I want to believe that he doesn't but if he does, I wouldn't say he completely copies the song. I guess I would say its just hella influenced by another song. I don't know. Ahaha, its just hella complicated.

jiyong is indeed a talented person. we can all see that.. but sad to say, (and im not saying that he did plagiarized) his Heartbreaker is pretty much the same with Flo-Rida's right round.

Many of you guys doesnt appreciate his concept and style. but i'll be brave enough to defend him (coz demm. i love him so much. i adore and idolize him to the maximum level). i think that his sense of fashion is his way of showing his personality. we all know that fashion is one way of expressing ourselves, and i think that's what JiYong is actually doing. (im guessing)

No one is actually forcing him to do these and that to himself right? i think, some of these decisions were of his own...

i wish people can see the other positive side of G-Dragon. coz honestly, i adore him as a person. not just as an entertainer.

and about that plagiarism.. i dont know what the real deal is. but still, im proud of him coz he delivered the song perfectly.. and all those rapping?! dang!!! he's the bomb! (even if it isnt still proven original. aww)
