Pakistan threatens to invade China. The UK signs a Mutual Protection Pact with China. Not wanting to have to fight for China, Pakistan takes over the president’s seat in China and retreats in all battles until all of China belongs to Pakistan.
October 2008
All of China is controlled by Pakistan, and there is no movement to free China. There are no players in the game who claim to be Chinese at all.
December 2008
China consists of Beijing and Liaoning. Pakistan controls all other provinces. Two Americans and one Chinese living in America are trying to run the country. Unknown to them, the president is actually an Iranian agent. Iran plows through Pakistan and invades China. With the help of the president, China is destroyed.
January 2009
China does not exist. Most provinces belong to Pakistan, while the rest belong to Iran. All negotiations for the liberation of China have failed miserably.
February 2009
Two Indonesians, looking for a medal in the game, liberated two Chinese regions (Anhui and Henan) from Pakistan, which still controls most of China despite having very few players. The population of China is 50. An American spent much of his own money to create the first political party in newly liberated China, then the Democratic Party of China. It was quickly taken over by the Indonesians, and the American had to spend much more of his own money to create a second party, whose first name would be the Chinese Equality Party.
March 2009
China is four provinces: Anhui, Beijing, Henan, and Ningxia. A coalition of Iranians and Indonesians control the President seat and the Congress. They use China to try and block Romania, a nation that has been friendly to China, from invading Indonesia, a nation that has so far been unfriendly to China. A few people, mostly RL Americans, are resisting the Indonesians and Iranians, but without much affect. South Koreans have been insulting China, and the Indonesian president of China invaded South Korea, but later withdrew. Several “goons” entered China this way, but they were shrugged off as little more than an annoyance.
May 2009
China only consists of a few Provinces, and Indonesia still controls the majority of China. About 200 people from the popular American website “Something Awful” have taken the majority of the Congress and the President seat. Most are extremists, wanting to rename China “eWK” and invade Japan, another small nation. However, a small group, including the President, is beginning to voice dissent toward this strategy, and they are on the verge of splintering. China is inhabited mostly by people that are American IRL, and the RL Chinese People have almost no say in their own government.
June 2009
For the first time, people who live in China IRL are getting to have a say in their government. The People's Republican Party is gaining power. A coalition of the PRP and friendly goons control the majority of congress.
23:45, Pacific Time July 14 2009
Two players, David_Du, the president of the PRP and pyroelectricity, a longtime citizen of China and RL American, are having a conversation. They decide now is the time to strike the final blow to the goons. Pyroelectricity submits himself as a candidate for the president of the goon party.
July 15 2009
Through a massive rally, pyroelectricity and David_Du are able to attract enough votes to win the presidency of the goon party. It would be renamed the "Duche Box Party" and control would later be given to Snayke.
August 2009
The goons, unable to recover from losing their party, are losing influence in China. The president, Snayke, helps to create an alliance between China and our fellow Asian nations. This is the first time since August 2008 that a new bloc has been defined, and the first time ever a non-military alliance is made in eRepublik.


Meanwhile, there are still many threats to China.
Xinjiang is a stronghold for Indonesia, one of the most powerful nations in the world. Qinghai, Shanxi, Zhejiang, Fujian, Guangdong, and Guangxi belong to Indonesia. Liaoning Province is the most valuable region in Iran. Iran is fiercely possessive about its two Chinese territories, Liaoning and Jilin. Heilongjiang belongs to Hungary. The population of China is a little over a thousand. The population of the largest countries, France and Russia, are 25,000 and 19,000 respectively. Welcome to eRepublik China.







This is a brief history of eChina. China elected its own leader and its own Congress for the first time since war was introduced to eRepublik in July.

eRepublik is an online game where you play a person. You must get a job, eat, train, and you have the option to fight. There are about 220,000 players of eRepublik. It only takes a few minutes a day to play eRepublik. You can work, train, buy food, and log out. If you want to spend more time, you can read articles, comment on articles, write your own articles, or visit the forum. If you are interested in communicating with players in real time, you can go on IRC or QQ.

The Hope
The Chinese Equality Party was founded by logomaster304 in February, after food2rax and Ras Tafari took over the Democratic Party of China. He remained PP until March 15, when Modelcon won the elections and took control of the party. The CEP consistently failed to gain a majority of congress against the Indonesian Stars of Melijanna and the Iranian Freed0m. In April, the leadership of the party uneventfully changed to Laffopuritain. At this time, goons began pouring into China. Laffopuritain and the CEP did the best they could to fight them off, but were ultimately unsuccessful. In May, Ma Chao took control of the Chinese Equality Party and renamed it the China Party. This reflected an increasingly anti-Chinese atmosphere in the rising Juche Box and falling Stars of Melijanna and Freed0m Parties. The China Party was now the only party in China that was truly for the Chinese, and not Iran or Indonesia or the goons. At the end of May, Ma Chao renamed the China Party the People's Republican Party. In June, David_Du took control of the People’s Republican Party, a name it retains today. During the election, former members of the PRP took control of the Freed0m party, and goons that were in favor of China took control of the SoM, renaming them the China Democratic Party and the SSStars of Snayke, respectively. For the first time, in the June Congressional Elections, the PRP’s coalition with the CDP and SoS won the majority in Congress, bringing China under fully China-friendly Chinese control for the first time. The China friendly President and former goon, Snayke, was overwhelmingly reelected in July, cementing the dominance of the PRP
On July 15, an agent of the PRP, pyroelectricity, successfully ran for PP of the Juche Box Party. He renamed it the Duche Box Party, taking advantage of the similarities in pronunciation between “Juche” and “Douche” in the English language.

The Enemy
The Democratic Party of China was the first party in the new China. It was founded in February by Laffopuritain. However, he neglected to run for PP, and the party was taken over by food2rax. Food2rax became the president of eChina. He was later impeached, and returned to Indonesia. Laffopuritain regained control of the DPC. However, there were few members, reaching six at one point. Right around then is when the first goons came to China. The goons took over the party, renaming it the Juche Box Party, the name it retained until it was take over by agents of the PRP.
In March, a group of Iranians came in and founded the Freed0m party. Within a few hours, a group of Indonesians had founded the Stars of Melijanna party. They proceeded to take the majority of congress, and retained it for months. Many SoM members published friendly articles, claiming that they were not here to take over China. The head of the SoM, Mimihitam, became the president. She invaded South Korea after we were insulted by a few of their players. The first goons entered China that way. Mimihitam would later become the MoFA of Indonesia.

The Freed0m party consistently got the larger section of congress, but they were inactive in the mainstream media. One evening on IRC, an Iranian player came to talk to pyroelectricity. He proposed a deal. China would join the PEACE alliance and let Iran manipulate it, and it would survive. Decline, and Iran would destroy China once again. Pyroelectricity declined. An Iranian invasion never came.

One day, the Iranians and Indonesians just left, leaving a massive power vacuum in their wake. It was filled largely by the goons, whose Juche Box Party now had well over 150 members.



The current internal enemy we face is the goons. Some of their more radical ideas are not allowing anyone to speak Chinese and renaming China “eWest Korea.” They also call the Chinese language Moonspeak. They are rude, racist, and ignorant. They often mindlessly comment things like “No Moonspeak in eWK Please!” and “Down with Snayke!” (Snayke is the president) They even resort to blows as low as “Reported for racism” (on almost every article) and typing a bunch of random letters when someone comments in Chinese. They even sometimes put out counter-articles with the same title, but without any relevant content! Despite having a minority in congress, they continued to dominate our media and IRC. The main danger of this was that new citizens and foreigners may get the wrong impression of China. However, it was, and to a point still is, an atrocity that we cannot write anything without every possible insult being thrown at us and that we cannot say that most articles written in China are valid.

There is also an external, more menacing, enemy. Indonesia and Iran control many provinces, including Guangdong, which has more people than any other province IRL. Many people have tried to give back some provinces to China, but none have succeeded. The most important province to get back is Heilongjiang or Liaoning. Heilongjiang and Liaoning have high productivity of iron for companies. Iron is used to make weapons, which increases damage in war. If we can make weapons, we can become a more powerful nation!
But, Iran does not want to give us Liaoning, and Hungary does not want to give us Heilongjiang. If China were to get back all of its provinces today, it would leave China vulnerable to enemies. More provinces means more seats in the congress, but other countries can send their own people to take those seats. If that happens, Indonesia or Iran could take over China again!

China does not have enough people to get more provinces back.

That is where you come in.

A few minutes a day is the greatest sacrifice you can make for eChina!

If you want to get more provinces back, this is what you must do:

1: The eRepublik website is in English. If you speak English, you do not have to do this step. If you do not speak English, follow the directions here.
2: Register for eRepublik. When you are prompted to choose a region to start in, do NOT choose your home province. You MUST choose Beijing. Beijing is the best province to live in because it has a Q5 Hospital. The higher the quality level of the province you live in, the more times you can fight in a day.
3: Find a job. The specific company does not matter. There may not be any jobs for skill 0 on the market when you join eRepublik. Do not worry, more will come in a few days when people see that they can make lots of money by having a company in China.
4: Buy food. In eRepublik, you must keep your wellness up, or your character dies. If your character dies, you can revive them, but with very little wellness. There are no real consequences for dying. You keep your wellness up by eating food. At 00:00 eRepublik time every day, your character automatically eats. You must buy food so your character can eat.
5: Start to train. This increases your strength, which in turn increases your damage when you fight.
6: When you reach level 5, start to fight. There must be an active battle in China for you to fight. Each fight gives you experience and adds damage to your count. Once you have done a certain amount of damage over your eRepublik life, the amount each fight damages goes up by 20% until you are doing 140% damage! You cannot die from fighting, the game will not allow it.
7: Once you reach level 6, start to vote. You can vote for the president, congress, and the party president. Sometimes you might want to move to other provinces to vote for congress. For president, the best choice is usually the candidate endorsed by your party.

That’s all you need to do for eChina to get back its provinces.
It is highly suggested that you read some articles, which can be found by scrolling down on your home page. Each article can be voted by pressing the button on the left side of your screen. The first tab shows the news articles with the most votes in the country. The second tab shows the latest news articles. The third tab shows the articles with the most votes in the world.

If you like the way someone writes, you can subscribe to their newspaper. There is a button you can press, and from then on all articles that person writes will appear in your subscription screen. Your subscriptions can be accessed by clicking the green symbol above the “Logout” button.
If you want to stop receiving articles, you can go to their newspaper and press the subscribe button again. You can also comment on articles.

If you want to spend some more time on the game, there are a few things you can do.

We currently have several QQ groups. If you decide to join eChina, there is a thread on the forums that lists our QQ groups.

If you speak fluent English or just a little bit and want to learn more, you can go on IRC. IRC stands for Internet Relay Chat, and it is a very old instant messaging client. It can be accessed at mibbit.com or through a separate program, if you have one on your computer. Select Rizon as the server and #echina or as the channel. #eChina is a primarily English-speaking channel, and is run by the current president, Snayke. Other countries have their own chatrooms, mostly English-speaking. Some good chatrooms are:

You can go on a forum. If you speak English, you might want to go to the eChina English Forums or the eRepublik Forums. There you can discuss almost anything related to the game, and off-topic things too.
Once you reach level 8, you can run your own newspaper and publish your own articles. There is a fee of a fictional currency called GOLD. Gold can be bought with CNY, so save up if you want to have a newspaper.
If you are active enough in the game, you have the possibility to become a government minister, a congressman, or maybe even the President! If you want to spend a few more minutes a day on eRepublik, the possibilities for you are endless.

If you do not have much time, or just don’t want to spend much time on the game, spending only a few minutes a day is great for eChina! No matter how much or how little time you spend in the game, you make a massive difference to eChina.

eChina has few provinces right now, but you can change that with just a few minutes of your time!
eChina wants you, and your mere presence will help liberate more provinces.
The future of eChina can be glorious! We could have an empire stretching across the world! We could command those who once invaded and destroyed eChina!
