Growing up with TVB in the 80's, I of course was a fan of the Five Tigers (五虎)...yes, they did dominate most of the 80's and one or more of the Tigers was in almost every single TVB series of that era.
Since we rarely get to see the 5 of them together anymore nowadays and I'm feeling a little nostalgic, let's take a trip down memory lane....which of the 5 Tigers was your favorite and why? With all the TVB series that they starred in back in the 80's, which was your favorite and why?
To start things off...I vote for Michael Miu. IMO, not only is he the best looking out of the five, he's also one of those rare actors who can look extremely good in both ancient costume as well as modern costume. My favorite series of his is "The New Adventures of Chor Lau Heung" from 1984...not only did he look absolutely handsome in this series, he also fit the character so perfectly (how well he played the part shows his acting skills). Also loved his pairing with Barbara Yung (one of the many series they made together). Too bad that he has not made any ancient series since he returned to TVB several years ago...

They are before my time xD!!

And because I see Micheal Miu more often now so I guess I have to say him! Must say hes a very talented actor and he was great in EU. The others I'm not so familiar, well, er, hardly ever seen Tony or Andy ones just Felix ones!!(Secret of the Heart, Treasure Raiders and I think there were a couple of cop series as well!

Heehee! Thanks for voting. You should check out the older series that had the 5 Tigers in them when you get a chance...you'll see what true acting is all about! Both ancient and modern series from the 80's and early 90's were the best...if you like Michael Miu, then I would recommend the ancient series that he made in the 80's like "Chor Lau Heung," Legend of Condor Heroes, Crimson Sabre, etc -- his performances and "ancient costume" look were awesome.
I haven't seen Devil's Disciples yet, but when I do, I'll keep on the lookout for him.
As for Felix Wong, if you want to see his best performances, watch Legend of Condor Heroes (ancient) and also Looking Back in Anger (modern)...those were the 2 series that made him famous...

Andy for me. even though i'm not a die-hard fan, i kind of regard him as a hero. *__* like when he jumped off the stage to save his fan who was being beat up by security. i like his personality more than anything else. (and i couldn't care less about his recent marriage scandal.)
but Michael is not bad either, esp. considering his age. he looks soooo suave!

Tony is definitely great as well...for me, he actually tied with Michael Miu -- it was hard to pick between the two -- Michael had a slight advantage because of his perfect "ancient costume" look.
Out of the 5, Tony is definitely the best in terms of acting. The thing I admire most about him is his true acting talent -- he is able to play completely opposite characters extremely well and make the characters convincing, believable, and memorable. Just take a look at his Wai Siu Bo in Duke of Mount Deer (a classic -- none of the others who came after played the role as good as he did) and Cheung Mo Gai in New Heaven Sword and Dragon Sabre (my favorite ancient series)....these are 2 characters at opposite extremes -- one is a quiet, serious, honorable martial arts hero (Cheung Mo Gai) while the other is a flirty, funny ladies man with no martial arts background but lots of "street smarts" (Wai Siu Bo)...
TVB (as well as other TV stations in Taiwan and China) has remade both series numerous times, but none of the actors were able to capture and act out the characters' complex personalities as well as Tony did...

Looks like Michael Miu is leading in the poll, withTony a close second...not too surprised with the results, as Michael has made quite a few series since he returned to TVB 4 years ago...Tony no longer does tv, however he is still quite active in movies. Andy of course has been active, but he actually didn't do too many tv series compared with the others. Felix isn't active anymore, except he recently made a comeback in the movie "The Turning Point" (the Laughing Gor movie). As for Kent Tong, he's a business man now and is pretty much completely out of the industry (except the occasional movie when his other Tiger brothers recruit him)

Felix Wong no doubt. His superb acting in Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils '96 caught my attention. His performance in Secret of the Heart is pretty good too. Plus, he got two of the most famous series of all time in his resume, like somebody already pointed out(The Legend of the Condor Heroes '83 and Looking Back in Anger).
Sad to hear he was never gonna act again but very fortunate to see him in action again in "Brothers", along with three other Tigers: Andy Lau, Michael Miu, and Kent Tong.

Felix will be doing a series for TVB next year -- "Interpol" with Michael Miu and Jessica Hsuan....it will be the first time he does a series with Michael after 25 years (their last one together was The Yang's Saga back in 1984)...something to look forward to for Felix fans!
