im interested on teaching and studying styles that make some people smarter than others. plz state wher ur from, and wot country of the school(s) ur talking about when u answer the *questions. this may b useful 4 other ppl 2 kno in relation 2 studying

apart from being determined to study, and being pushed by parents,
is there any other reason why most asians are smart? and even european people?

in newzealand, i think the schools standards are a bit lower than america, australia, asia, etc..
there are some smart people, who are foreign, mainly asian ppl or european like german or sumthn. so im guessing they're smart because they learned more at the school in their country

what is the (teaching style)difference in schools in other countries?

my friend said that her friend said that in china the diff teachers that teach diff subjects move around to classes, rather than the students moving to diff classes. so they sit in the same class and the teacher just comes in.

*wot other differences are there? in any country (other than school being longer. differences IN school/class. even small things like using a blackboard/white board, using dvds, etc..)
*what is the teaching style like? any1 kno? in china, azn countries, or europe. or even america since i dont kno.

over here, its - teacher talks, asks questions to see if students know about a new topic, writes notes on board for us 2 copy, gives txtbooks 4 us 2 read/copy notes.
i think its easier 2 learn wen the teacher talks/ asks questions 4 students 2 answer, and ofcourse explain in an easy 2 understand way

*and are ther diff studying styles that differ in each country?

4 me its just read over notes, copy out notes, recall in my mind. but nomatter how much u study it depends wot u kno cos sum ppl study hard but just arent smart enuf. sum smart ppl dont study at all bcz its so easy for them. so wots the most effective way of learning/studying?

School in asian countries is generally much harder then in western countries. If you look at japan as an example, the path is generally study hard to graduate from the top university to go to the top company in the country. At the same time, space is limited.

When you have asian students go overseas, schooling is easier for some and usually much more relaxed.

The simple answer is more higher population density translate into high competitiveness in education. In old times, only nobles and well off people specially men were allowed to take higher education. Now days, everyone expect high education from average people.

I've been to Germany and attend German school. They are pressure to work harder but school in Europe are mostly privately own.Students have the ability to pick and choose more classes verse a government run and fund school.I read about how Asian school are EXTREMELY competitive and must reach a certain level in order to continue education pass elementary level. there isn't enough resources and support for more schools. The same is in Latin American countries.A large sum will drop out by the time they are 12 or 14 in order to seek out work.

In the US there are laws to enforce education.that a child must attend school(schooling). The "No Child Left behind."A parent can be seen as neglectful if their child does not attend school and sent to jail. This doesn't enforce a code of ethnics that parents should follow or children should have while attending school. That is matter of personal choice of parenting skill and learning experience. Verse other nation were school is much harder to come by and very limited few make it even into high school.

I know one thing those who are school overseas have more appreciation for their eduction verse those of US.i disagree with school condition in US even though there are laws.Doesn't mean that child is receiving the best quality of education.

In the end education is a key factor in anyone life.how they learn, what they learn is just as important to how they apply their education in every day life.

You are generalizing. While I don't think anyone will deny that the Japanese education system is very efficient and high-quality, I'm not sure the same can be said for China. I've heard stories of Chinese people coming to Europe to continue their studies, only to fall behind because the secondary education they had received in China was of a lesser quality and lacked depth.

Germany was once known as the most-educated in Europe - primarily during Prussia during the late 18th century.

Let me advise you, despite the strenuous effort in China and Japan schooling. The tutions and stuff, it all comes down to the individual. Universities you may have heard of such as Harvard, Yale, Oxford, Cambridge etc... they don't look for the brightest students but the all-rounders. Why? The all-rounders can do a lot of stuff and still do great, these are the "smart" ones, or "talented" ones.

The people in my school who go to Harvard and Yale, some are rich as they should be, but many aren't. Some are super intelligent, some are above average. Most however, do the "out of the ordinary" and help others - that is the main thing. They perform reasonably well academically, on the sporting field, and any other thing you can think of. Their the ones who go into these "good" universities.

BTW, I know many people here in Australia who don't go tutoring and out-perform those coming from China, Japan, Korea etc who go tutoring like every day. So in most cases, its not the teaching style or teacher but yourself (though for me its the teacher, came first in maths when I had a good teacher, came near bottom when I had bad teacher... got 97 in English with a good teacher, and the next year with this stupid American b*tch I got 74... so in some cases etc).
