Da S breaks vase, ZZ drops his masculineness
If your impressions of ZZ and Da S are still stuck in the "Meteor Garden" era, then you should watch "Mars." If you fantasize about racing, about aesthetic love, then you should watch "Mars." If you have always dislilked Taiwan's idol dramas, then you should watch "Mars." The idol drama "Mars" starring Vic Chou and Barbie Hsu is now broadcasting on Hua Yu Wei Shi. Lately there have been a lot of discussion regarding the two leads and "Mars" on various entertainment sites. Everyone unanimously said that ZZ and Da S finally broke the "vase" image. They've officially grown into professional actors from youthful idols.

Da S did her best to portray a girl who has been abused
Several years ago when "Meteor Garden" broadcasted, even though Da S' acting was a bit faulty, she was the only female lead of the drama so it's only natural that she shot to fame. Because success came too easily, Da S didn't show any obvious improvements in her later works. She suffered criticism from the media and spectators. Even when filming "A Chinese Ghost Story" she was said to be the ancient version of San Cai. Not being able to do as well as Wang Zu Xian, she destroyed the cold, beautiful and enchanting image of Xiao Qian in spectators' hearts. Afterwards Da S was quiet for a time. She hosted and acted as usual. It wasn't until her book "Cosmetic Queen" when people started to pay attention to her again. Just when the outside world thought that Da S was going to become an author, she brings a whole new idol drama work, "Mars." Her performance in the drama had won praises once again. This time she wasn't complacent because of the role.

Da S' performance in "Mars" gave audiences a big surprise. She portrayed a girl who was wounded physically and mentally, a girl who used the pencil in her hand to express her most delicate, pure voice. The girl's mental and physical injuries never healed. Facing Ling, Qi Luo couldn't avoid confronting this tragedy. Da S muttered to someone that her tears fell like a broken string of pearls and ultimately let out a "I hate men" cry. Spectators couldn't help but clutch their hearts because of this inexpressible pain. Da S's preformance was full of power. Her hysteria was a natural outlet and not an on-the-surface idol drama performance. To portray her role better she no longer cared about whether or not she was shot beautifully.

Da S put a lot of thought into "Mars." Under the instructions of the director she wrote in a diary everyday, to create fake "rape" memories. Perhaps this hypnotized her so when she was acting she did well. If you say that she benefited from her successful role as San Cai, then today's moving Qi Luo is Da S' acting sediment after sublimating, less insolent and more maturity. Da S has finally took off her beautiful idol clothes and become a real actress. She used strength, not luck, to add points to her career.

ZZ seems reckless on the outside but is weak on the inside
All along F4 had a contradicting image. Millions of teenage girls admire them. Millions of adults also laugh at them because they think the 4 of them are nothing but a pretty face. ZZ Vic Chou became the target of the mass because his album sales obviously dropped and his deficiency in school. In "Mars" ZZ portrays 2 roles. One is an introvert who loves to draw while the other one is an extrovert and love to race. To the originally introvert and slow ZZ, this is undoubtedly a challenge. In the drama ZZ is known as a "walking sex organ." His agitating behavior covers his inner weakness. At first the shy ZZ had a hard to grasping this "wastrel" feeling, but his efforts paid off and he finally accomplished the requests of the director. What's also worth mentioning is rectified his pronunciation problem that he's been teased about for the past few years.

Psychopathologic, likes to race and act ruthless. ZZ is not longer the well-behaved baby in "Meteor Garden." Already 24 years of age, his performance is stronger and less bashful. To interpret the role better ZZ personally did many of the dangerous scenes in the drama. Just a scene where he jumps off a building took 10 hours to film. In the drama ZZ is a "wastrel." He had many intimate scenes with Da S. Some worried that rumors would spread because of this but Da S and ZZ were both at ease. "ZZ and I have this inexplainable tacit understanding between each other. Privately he calls me jie jie (bigger sister) and I call him di di (younger brother). We get along really well. I am very happy when working with him." ZZ said that there are differences between the character he played with the original author's character. The original character kisses someone at every move. He however doesn't dare do something like that.

Well, I finished watching the first episode too, obviously. And I thought it was....AWESOME! I think Zai Zai is becoming a better and better actor. Gosh! I was convinced! I loved the way Barbie's hair fell so gracefully too! I was definitely convinced by her acting...no doubt about it.

It is the most amazing drama I have ever seen. ZZ looked hot in there in his motorcycle suit, also he’s funny, especially the way he tried to tease Qi Luo. I’m also impressed with Barbie’s acting, if its somebody else that does the job, probably wont do it well as her. So I’m very pleased with her acting in here. She really focused on it and really got into it. Since her personality is nothing like Qi Luo, it’s hard to portray her but amazingly, Barbie showed it pretty well.

yeah!..finally managed to watch ep.2!! Barbie's acting was superb during the balcony part...the shaking and crying plus the blowing wind effect was awesome.....reminded me of the MG days when Lei and SC use to hang out at Ying De's rooftop..hehe...it's cute how QL has finally learned how to smile again..but only for Ling!
and can't forget to mention about his killer "death" look when he told Qing Mei if he ever hurt QL again he'll kill her...wow....zz's eyes spoke volumes...I got the shivers...lol...can't wait for ep.3!....I love Mars!!!=)

Hostess 1: Fans must have gone crazy after hearing your voice. You know Mars is currently airing on our station (CETV). The ratings are very, very good. Everyone is impressed by how much your acting skills have improved. What are your thoughts on accomplished so much from shooting such a good TV series?

Zaizai: What I'm most grateful is to have such a good director, director Cai Yuexun. He taught me how to act. And then there were many other good actors such as Xu Xiyuan, Lai Yayan, An Juncan, and Xiu Jiekai. They are all very good, so we had good synergy in the series.

Hostess 2: Did you run into acting situations where you consider more difficult in the process of shooting Mars?

Hostess 1: You acted two roles.

Hostess 2: It was quite a challenge.

Zaizai laughed

Hostess 1: He laughs a lot.

Zaizai: Ha Ha. At the beginning what we were most worrying about was that I had to act two roles, twin brothers. People have to be able to distinguish the twins. Later on, we found the personalities of the two roles are drastic different and distinct after carefully studying the script. So it was not that difficult in terms of figuring out the two roles.

Hostess 1: You and DaS starred in Meteor Garden before. Did you two have better chemistry this time around?

Zaizai: Oh! We had great chemistry.

Hostess 1: Wow, great chemistry.

Hostess 2: In private life, you are good friends, too.

Zaizai: Yes, we have been good friends, like brother and sister.

Hostess 1: You two had quite a lot of kissing scenes in Mars. Did you two feel embarrassing? Or have you become used to the kissing scenes?

Zaizai: We know each other very well. She has boyfriend. We were careful in handling the kissing scenes. We were very professional and hoped to shoot it in one take. Ha Ha

da s : wah, i feel they r all....when work with them, the feeling is
different. lik ycx, i call him baolong. at tat time, it was the first
time for both of us to act together so we two were extremely
nervous/anxious n whenever the director tell us anything, we were
actualli so nervous/anxious we din really hear wat the director said.
jus based on remembering script n lines everyday was so taxing. (a
few words here i dont understand so cant translate) but all the way
coming from over there, spent a lot of time acting n for the director
is his first time to really film a drama serial so can be said tat we
do have a unique relationship bcos tis is my first drama n he is my
first acting male partner.

then with zz, we two have chemistry tat words unable to describe. our
chemistry is extremely good. privately i treat him lik little bro n he
calls me sis so our relationship is very good n we r also very good
friends. so when i work with him is very happy. so when we have to
practise, we wont disturb each other at all n when it comes to
something more relaxing, we will be very happy, working together we r
very happy

impression. altho now in your own life u have found your suitable

da s : can work together again bcos tat time when filming, it was
really too painful. inside me was full of confusion n added to tat
when filming the sequel, everything was very confusing too so at tat
time, everyday, we have to constantly adjust our emotions n very often
there were last minute situations n so during tat time, there were a
lot, a lot of things....everyday, apart from acting, there were many
other things tat were bothersome n have to cope with many other things
not related to filming so if we shd work together again, we have
talked b4 abt tis n we hope there will be a chance to work together
again. in the front we have done well so we wont need to go thru all
tat as last time we were weak/soft actors but now we will put in all
our experience n make effort to express it out n earlier we have said
we r willing to work together again. only thing is see if there is
anyone willing to look for us to act

a great series
This TV series is simply amazing....powerful theme.....decent acting.......great storyline. THis is not the "boring, cliche, repetitive, overdone" love triangle asian drama. There is much more inner depth in this TV series. Great series.

Excellent, a must see!
This series is worth waiting and watching. Zaizai and Barbie have excellent chemistry together. The pace is slow in some parts, but overall, it has a very interesting story. Mars cannot be compared to Meteor Garden because they are two different series. Meteor Garden was light, funny, sweet and the story moves along pretty fast. Mars has its funny and sweet moments also, but the story is on the dark side. Each character has his/her own nightmare to deal with. Although the racing scenes are excellent and so are the costumes. Zaizai's acting has greatly improved in this series. He is a completely different character and it is sometimes difficult to believe that he was the Lei in Meteor Garden. He was very versatile in Mars. His character was charming, sweet, sensitive, and complex at the same time. All of these qualities can be easily seen from his facial expressions. Barbie's character in here is also perfect for Zaizai's. I have been a fan of these two actors since Meteor Garden. It is pleasure to see them finally have a series together because of the chemistry between the two. I look forward to move series to come.

mg is a good movie.....but too much back and forth mars is a great movie, vic is so fine.....shower scenes and kissing scenes way more lip to lip action, which made the movie more realistic. barbie and vic are a good onscene couple.

best tv series eva!!!!!!
this is seriously one of the best series ever!!! it was sooooo touching n some parts were really sad/scary/dramatic.there were some humorous parts, but not a lot...... tho part of the reason the series is so good is because the plot is based on the best selling japanese manga series "Mars"(and if neyone has a chance 2 read it, READ IT its really good ^_~) and it MAY seem a bit cliche-ish because of the good girl n bad boy falls in luv theme, but its NOT... AT ALL....so if u get the chance to see it, WATCH IT (god...i sound lyk a commerical lol)

Moving
This is one of the masterpiece I've ever seen. The series moved me, and brought me to a deep thought on every word they uttered especially coming from Ling, Qi Lou and Tong Dao. The casting and the actors were great also. The story is a bit sensitive, so parents must guide young children if they want to watch this.

mars was exciting.i always wanted to see more.its so cute how there relationship is and how hard it was to be together.if you havent seen it, then buy it you wont regret it. its the best tv show i ever saw but full house was great also.buy both of them. i give both a *10*

Vic is sooooo cute!!!
I luv this TV series, even more than Meteor Shower; it is by far my favorite show. Once I started watching, I just couldn't stop. The story was very interesting and it kept me focused the entire time compared to some other shows I've seen. Vic is sooo hot!! I recommend this TV series to all, it was great.

MARS, is by far, one of the best dramas I have seen, staring Vic Chou (Cheng Ling), and Barbie Hsu (Qi Luo). I highly recommend others to see this. I have only seen the first episode, but I have read the synopsis of the whole entire drama...I would like to get it, too...Hehe...Anyways. I highly recommed this, over Meteor Garden, although I really liked that one, too...But MARS, in a way...Shows what can really happen in real life. I highly suggest that people should see this.

A Beautiful Masterpiece
I honestly have never seen Meteor Garden 1 or 2 or Meteor Rain. But, I have to say, after watching Mars, starring Vic and Barbie, I have to say that this is an all time masterpiece drama ever made. With Vic's charming style, and Barbie's beautiful sense of act, this has just got to be an all time favorite. Like Meteor Garden, this too will become a classic, one of which we'll look back many years from now, and still love and cherish. An excellent cast to portray all their characters wonderfully. What can I say, 'round of applause' to this breath taking drama. I'd recommend it to ANYONE-whether you're a fan of chinese, vic, or barbie, or nothing, i'd recommend it to all of you out there!

God Mars is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!
This series is just very surprising for me. After getting bored with all the korean drama on TV, Mars have got me.got me the feeling of falling in love again with my TV and DVD player!You'll surely get addicted to the story as well as the lovely characters of Vic and Barbie. jia you!The story also have things to learn from.This is definitely one of the favorite series ever!

Brilliant!
This is a amazing tv series!! If you liked Meteor Garden you'll really enjoy this.Of course the main reason is the gorgeous Vic! Both Vic & Barbie's acting skills have really improved since MG. I simply love Vic's character, so sweet, charming and romantic!! *sigh* The opening song by Alan Ke is great! Not forgetting Barbie and Vic's duet! Love it! Though I agree the ending was rather dissapointing and in my opinion very rushed. You can't really compare MG with Mars... Meteor Garden is funny, storyline is very "light" whereas Mars is far more intense and deep, dealing with far more serious issues. Overall I really enjoyed watching it! A** I really want there to be part 2!!

If that was the case, don't you think Lei would even realize he is in love with Sancai if Szi wasn't around?? Episode 3 was really awesome!!!!!!!!! Zai Zai had the greatest acting during the fight scene with MAchi member!!!!!!! I also love the scenes when Ling and Qi Luo were spending time together.......chitchatting, laughing and strolling together........And the shower scene!!!!!!!!!!!!! I nearly fainted and wished i were in that scene to peek on him!!!!!!!!!!!

i have to mention the fighting scene first because it was so cool!!! i liked the part where steve and zz punches each other back and forth everytime zz returned a punch he was punching harder and harder and his expression was like telling steve that his punches were weak and that he can punch harder.
and yeah..i wished zz walked around the room with the towl, too bad he didn't =P thought they would've kissed too while sitting on the bed, dunno why qi luo resisted lol

the fight scene so intense and powerful at the same time, zaizai expression there really hit me, he was in so much fury that the exhange of punches was so fierce and violent! his eyes and body language were murderous when he was pulling the thick rope around poor steven's neck! boy, he was really trying to kill him! *goosebumps* that was scary!
Barbie as Qi Luo was so convincing and shaking like a leaf while watching Ling strangle steven, he's almost unstoppable!
the shower scene! that scene was a sure come-on, zaizai is a certified hottie, sex symbol! even the dialogues were meant to taunt, mock and tease us, viewers and fans who can't get enough and going crazy over zaizai!
and what do we have to do or give for us to get the privilege of sitting on Ling's lap? ha ha ha

ep.4 is like the best ever!!!....zz's acting was...was...was....I'm speechless!...it was fantastic! the way he expresses his pain, his anger, his hate, his fear, his sadness, his insecurities,etc. was just superb!....his eyes do wonders in letting the viewers feel what he's feeling in the show.
I loved the passionate kiss that Ling and QL shared...they've been kissing quite a bit recently and it was a double treat in ep.4...hehehe....and surprisingly, QL actually initiated one of them...even though it was just a peck, I found it so cute=P
ling and qi luo are so adorable together!...they're my new fave couple=)

the Kiss in the dark was awesome... and you could really see the development of Qi Luo and Ling's relationship especially when the motor race is about to start and ling called qi luo up from thew phone (since she was not permitted to go to japan) to wish him luck and send him a kiss.

Episode 4 was great. Definitely award-worthy like you guys mentioned. I liked everything! Ling walking Qi Luo home was realy sweet, and the kiss when Qi Luo said she wanted to see Ling walking away for once...My fav part had to be when Qi Luo gave Ling her hair ribbon to tie on his wrist for luck in the race. It was so sweet.
