Summary:
He is a soldier while another is a “thief”. Their lives are forever inter-twined and their paths are always crossed.

Xia (Julian Cheung) is the “thief” and is planted by the police as an undercover investigator in the gangster world of Big Brother Song (Yuen Wah). Lin (Wong Hei) is a soldier who swore to bring Song to justice.

Unfortunately, Xia met with an accident one day and it affected his brain as well as his memory. He suddenly remembered about how he seemed to be Wu Song from the novel “Water Margin” in his previous life and was sure that Lin was a reincarnation of Lin Chong. However, Lin felt that Song was a deceptive person and hated him more.

Xia was someone who appreciated and pursued a pure form of love while Lin flirted between the worlds of love and lust in his life. Yet, fate played a cruel game on the both of them, who fell in love with two ladies – one who was both scared of and loved being in a relationship – Wan (Gigi Lai), and Hong (Yeung Yi) who bore some hatred towards love. The four of them then embarked on a game of love, trying to strive for the love they wanted.

As Xia continued to deal with Lin, he was convinced that the latter was the reincarnation of Lin Chong. He became more determined and swore to help Lin remember his past life as the hero of Liang Shan. Hopefully by then, both of them could work together in the pursuit of justice…

Julian Cheung and Gigi Lai were filming on location in Lan Kwai Fong for "Water Margin Infernal Affairs" earlier and in the scene, Julian is enticed by a beautiful girl with a condom. In reality, Julian says he has met with many beautiful encounters as he laughs: "When I was sixteen or seventeen and studying in Australia, there was a girl who was a neighbour of my dad's friend. I drove her home one day and she gave me a goodbye kiss before she left, then she bit me and wouldn't let go. I was so scared that I pushed her away." Afterwards, he regretted it and said: "This Western girl was very sexy and pretty! I am upset to talk about it!"

Having finished filming "Riches and Stitches" and then moving straight onto "War and Beauty", with them both being costume dramas, Gigi has not needed to dress herself up for either show. With her new show being set in modern times, Gigi can finally have a chance to get dolled up and she says excitedly: "Although half of the clothes are sponsored, I will still be spending my own fortunes and pulling out my own clothes to satisfy myself!"

Gigi plays the role of Pan Jinlian in the show and is often being mocked by Julian for being a flirt. She retorts by saying: "If I am a flirt, then he is a perv! Actually, my character is one who looks like the Pan Jinlian from hundreds of years ago, but in the modern day, I am a tomboy character, so my clothes do not need to be too sexy, but even if I have to be sexy, it doesn't matter as long as it is pretty and fits the setting."

When Julian Cheung and Gigi Lai were working together earlier on a movie, they stirred up rumours that sparked up Anita Yuen's jealousy and resulted in her watching over him as he filmed. As Julian and Gigi work together again appearing at the blessing ceremony for their new series "Water Margin Infernal Affairs", they both deny the Anita incident in the past as Gigi says: "From what I know nothing like this happened and it was a pointless report."

Working together with Julian again, is Gigi worried that they might spark some real chemistry? She says: "Beauties do not take what another loves." Spending Valentines Day filming with Julian, is she worried that Anita will come and watch over them? She says calmly: "It's nothing to do with it, I will just do my work." She also laughs: "But I have already prepared some candles to have a candle-lit dinner with Julian."

Gigi admits that she would like to receive flowers on Valentines Day and would like to have a surprise, but she has become more mature now and feels that flowers are an extravagance and receiving them on Valentines is not important any more.

In response to the 'surveillance' from Anita, Julian emphasises: "Nothing like this happened and if it did I have forgotten it." Afterwards, he praises Gigi for being a good partner and great fun and when asked if he was worried about Anita being jealous at them working again, he says: "Anita is not a very jealous person, so I am not worried." This year's Valentines Day will be spent working and Julian understands that as an artiste, you have no festivals. When asked what present he has bought Anita, he says: "I will not give her flowers, but give her something more everlasting."

Matt Yeung was absent from yesterday's event due to injury and producer Siu Hin Fai says: "He is on sick leave, but he is not seriously injured, just his face is a little swollen and the doctor has signed him off for ten days. I have spoken to him on the phone and his voice is full of life." As for the reports that Matt was the scapegoat for Bosco Wong, Bosco made a statement through his manager saying: "Bosco was at the Karaoke bar, but before the incident, he had already left and he had fun with his friends and didn't know of any incident, so he feels the reports are unfounded."

Also, when Halina Tam was asked to respond on news that her ex-boyfriend Sunny is now dating Law Ming Chu, she laughs: "I feel I should congratulate them when I read the reports, but I also sympathise with them because they have been photographed doing normal socialising. So even if I date someone from outside the industry, I will not say anything. (Do you feel jealous that your ex-boyfriend is dating again?) Of course not, we split up about three years ago and we are just friends now, meeting up from time to time."

Gigi Lai and Tavia Yeung were filming in Clearwater Bay yesterday for "Water Margin Infernal Affairs" in a scene that tells of Tavia riding a motorbike to pick Gigi up and then being challenged to a race. Although they were only pretending to ride fast, Tavia still seemed rather frightened as she said: "It was so dangerous, even just sitting there was frightening."

As for Gigi, she says that in real life she is often being challenged to race: "I am always getting challenged, but usually I will ignore them. I rarely sit as a passenger on a motorbike, because it is really scary! A long time ago I rode the back of a bike with Leon Lai and I was terrified."

Julian Cheung and Gigi Lai were filming for "Water Margin Infernal Affairs" in Central in a scene where Gigi is threatened to have acid thrown at her, but Julian comes to her rescue and takes her to hospital. There was no kissing in this scene.

With the recent news of Edison Chen being assaulted and the threat of kidnap for Jade Kwan, is Julian worried about the safety of celebrities at the moment? He says: "I will not worry because people aren't that crazy. I hope Edison is okay. It was just an accident and just some schoolkids being naughty, Chow Yun Fat goes around everywhere." Julian says he doesn't go out much and he prefers outdoor and daytime activities so he has little trouble. Does he feel that Edison has met with this incident because of his arrogance? He says: "I don't think it is relevant, it was just a coincidence. I personally find that Edison is quite polite." After this show has finished filming, Julian will be heading off on holiday.

Gigi also indicated that she has received letters from fans who threatened to commit suicide if she didn't reply, saying: "The whereabouts and addresses of people in the public eye are easily discovered and people can get a chance to attack at any time. I have always been very careful and don't like going out at night, not going to very quiet or very rough places. I like going for walks on my own, but after these news reports, I will go to some more refined and tidy places and reduced getting a taxi alone.

Talking of Edison's complaints about no-one helping him when he was attacked, Gigi feels sorry for him and says: "He was very innocent, maybe people thought he was filming. (Do you feel that the young people are not sensible enough?) Maybe it is a matter of education, they should improve themselves or maybe the schoolkids just have too much pressure on them. (If the incident happened to you, would you press charges?) I don't think so, pressing charges may not be the best course of action. We should teach them and help them to develop." She also reveals that after finishing the show, she will be going abroad for a stage show and resting for a month to spend time with her parents or go on holiday. She will return to TVB in June to start filming a new series as she has been filming non-stop since April of last year and she laughs: "I need to rest for a month and let myself return to normal!"

Yes, I haven't seen Wong Hei in many serials after Burning Flame II. Hope this come back is decent. His acting in Net Deception wasn't bad either.

The words "Infernal Affairs" actually make me don't want to watch the series but the fact that it have Wong Hei in it makes it a definite watch drama. I can't wait till it release.

i think chi lam is a very versatile actor he has played many different parts hopefully the story is good in this series as most time travelling series very far fetched and story just goes silly.

I think this movie should be very good since Chi Lam and Wong Hei and Gigi Lai are in this. I think they're very good actors. I use to hate Gigi Lai but after War and Beauty and how versatile her acting ability and facial expressions are, I think she's very good. I don't think she chooses bad TVB series to be in.

I had always hope for a series of Gigi & Chilam together after seeing them in the movie Theft Under the Sun. I was so happy when they announced the filming of this series.

somehow...this series is on low profile...we have no idea about the process of filming....and there isn't much spoiler and news about this series too...the casts seem good...but not sure about the story. Lately many series have similar plots like movie.

Was this series shown in the TVB 2005 Sales Presentation? I thought I saw a ancient series in the presentation with Chi Lam and Gigi in it but the characters were flying around the screen, it was hard to see their faces. Can anyone confirm if it is the same? I thought this was a modern series?
