ATV should make more ancient series. When I was a kid ATV made the best ancient legend series like... "Master of Tao part 1 & 2" ALot of other like "Doomed to Oblivion" with Ma Suet & Damien Lau & Man Chi Leung & Keung Tai Wai.

ATV should not concentrate on making shows that is like "Once upon A TIme In Shanghai."

I would like ATV to produce something with the gods & goddessess. Like a story called "Choong Kwai" almost same story like "Justice Bao" BUT his soldier is a Bat demon with a patch around his eye. Also Justice Choolg Kwai has 2 looks...one all black in face & the other all white in face with a fire birthmark in middle of forehead.

I think ATV is really good at making historical series. Precisely, Empress wu and secret battle of the majesty are superb series. Even TVB productions cannot beat these two.

I think ATV series have very good storylines. Their ancient series were also very good and entertaining.

ATV storylines are not that bad at all. But unfortunately, they lose to tvb with the ratings. I would want a BIG production for an ancient serie this year or next year.

Back then, ATV did made better ancient series. Now, the quality is bad...

As I've said many times, ATV only tops TVB on pre-modern series (series centered during the War World). ATV really sets amazing storyline, their love story is amazing and heartwarming, though it normally last forever, its still worthy. Among their best pre-modern series are The Goold Old Days, Fated Love, and Love in a Miracle; all starring Amy Chan. ATV undoubtedly rocks at these kind of series. Whereas TVB tends to over-exaggerate their story, its really ridiculous!

atv used to make great ancient series, the used to make those epic series with a great storyline and not those modern ancient series from tvb
but nowadays they don't make ancient series anymore, they just buy mainland chinese ancients series
i understand they don't have the budget anymore to produce ancient series, it's kind of sad....

Yeah, I hate those budget thing. ATV makes wonderful ancient series, their modern ones are rather dcrappy. But the thing is with the budget its hard to make a good ancient series, since ancient seires requires so much money in customes, hair and makeup, among other things.

ATV makes some crappiest Modern series, which is either boring or extra boring. The drama is horribe in it, maybe if AtV use a little of their brain to do some more accient series, maybe ATV right now won't be that bad as it is.

Yeah, some of ATV's modern series are extremely good, looks like they really made them with love and passion, one that comes to my mind is Cruel Lover.

yeah i think some of storylines are much better than TVB's. Those days with Michelle Yim and Damian was their good days, i believe. Nowadays, they are pulled down with thieir technical dept.

yeah i would really enjoy if atv made more ancient series if they use same people who do action scenes etc. atv have the best fighting scenes amonst tvb, china, taiwan etc. but most atv actors have moved on or got older i mean they still look young but you can tell they age or got fatter or something. tvb need to instead of focusing on picking miss hong kong actress and focus on story, casting, chemistry, etc. most ancient series of tvb are usually some romantic comedy or series type movies. i want to see more action,adventure,comedy,romance genre again with good hair styles. no short spiky hair. something that fits the time period.

I just don't think they have what it takes to compete with TVB. Their scripts are better than TVB but TVB got budgets and better casts on their side in my opinion. ATV's modern series in the past really hurt them.

ATV doesnt have a big budget compare to TVB to produce ancient series. They already have partners from Chinese television and production companies to produce it and awfully dubbed the series.

i think they should make more ancient series. i like the heroine of the yangs part 1 and i'm going to watch justice bao soon.

I love watching ancient series. ATV use to be pretty good at it. I don't like most of the ancient series that TVB make because of the cast. Some boring dude who can't act or fight and they try to make it funny instead of serious actions.

atv does make good ancient and period dramas. i believe that reincarnated and dragon strike back when it first aired, it did beat tvb in rating. too bad after that they didn't get anymore good rating to beat tvb
