[Oriental Daily & The Sun]

Michael Tse, Joyce Chen, Johnny Tang and Rain Lau were among the guests at a promotion yesterday and Joyce was wearing a rather sexy dress. She says: "I have spent a lot of money on clothes recently and some of them are quite sexy! (How much have you spent?) Around five figures, so I need to cut down for the next couple of months."

It will be Michael's birthday on the 15th and another year older, he revealed some good news to the press yesterday that he will be marrying his girlfriend of over ten years Tina, before the Chinese New Year. Although everything will be kept simple, they will still be registering their marriage and having a banquet in Hong Kong and after picking up the experience of Frankie Lam and Kenix Kwok earlier, he hopes that it will be more well organised.

Michael reveals that he has applied for leave from TVB to get married and he hopes that the storyline in "Virtues of Harmony" will be able to accommodate this. He denies that the decision to get married is because they have a child and although many of his friends are getting married because of a pregnancy, the reason for his decision is due to them having dated for over ten years and entering a new phase in their relationship. As for when they will have babies, they will go with the flow.

Michael also reveals that he had arranged for his proposal at the beginning of the year, taking Tina to a snowy mountain for a holiday because the cold climate would not give her much time to think about it. When he went down on one knee to ask her to marry him, his girlfriend was moved to tears and immediately agreed, fulfilling his wish.

As for his birthday, Michael believes he will be working, but if he has time, he will call out all his friends for dinner to celebrate.

Pre-wedding nerves and post-"Virtues of Harmony" plans

[Oriental Daily]

Michael Tse and Kingdom Yuen took part in a Charity Celebrity Gourmet Carnival yesterday, where they both made fundraising dumplings to sell. Michael indicates that he has confirmed his wedding date to be January next year and as wel as filming for "Virtues of Harmony" recently, he has also had to prepare for the wedding. The funniest thing was when he could not follow his lines, he was accused of having pre-marital stress. He responded by asking them not to joke because this might make him have pre-marital psychosis! He has had many offers of sponsorship for his wedding recently, including the outfitters, but he is currently considering them and working hard to make enough money to pay for the wedding.

Also, Kingdom indicates that after finishing "Virtues", she will be putting all her efforts into her Chinese Herbal Asthma remedy business as it is currently in the stage of final completion and testing. Many of her asthmatic friends who have tried the formula have found it to be quite effective, so she is confident that it will have a good response.

here are some news on him

[Oriental Daily 30/09/04]

Michael Tse and Joyce Chen took part in a food carnival yesterday and played games with the audience. During the event, Michael revealed that he is currently preparing for his wedding and is rather busy, but has met with some setbacks: "This morning, I went on the internet to book my appointment with the registrar and I thought it would be quite easy, but I could not get onto the site because there are only just over a hundred slots per day and in order to book the day I want, I have to log in at 8 o'clock in the morning. It is even harder than going to work!" However, in order to book his required date of 14th January, Michael has decided to try again. As for why he has to choose this date, he explains: "That date is near the new year, but people have not yet left Hong Kong, so we hope to register and have the banquet on the same day." The future Mrs Tse's wedding gown has been sponsored by their friend.

Also, the currently single Joyce spent her mid-autumn festival asleep in bed. She says: "My mother was in the mainland looking after her business and my grandma was out celebrating with her mah jong friends, so I did not even get dinner and just went to bed. (Mid-autumn is all about joining together people with the moon though?) I had a joining with my pillow instead and spent the evening with Mr Chow. It's all just tradition, it doesn't matter really."

Shirley Yeung, Tats Lau, Nancy, Johnny Tang, Belle Lau and Michael Tse were guests on the latest episode of "Super Trio Show" that was taped two days ago. Originally Deric Wan was to be in the guest list, but because he was filming, he did not make it back and Michael was pulled into the line up at the last minute. He arrived after filming for "Virtues of Harmony" without eating his evening meal, showing his professionalism.

When Eric Tsang introduced Shirley, he said: "She is Yeung Sze Ki and not Lee Sze Ki, but she may become Lee Yeung Sze Ki later!" indicating that she will be marrying Gregory Lee sooner or later. As for Michael who will be getting married next year, Eric threw a rather dampening comment on him as he entered the stage: "The world is ever changing, will you make it to the end?" and leaving Michael rather embarrassed. Apart from this, Chin Ka Lok joked about Belle's lack of figure as well as he introduced her.

When playing the first game on the stone path, Shirley exclaimed that the stones were 'poking' her and Eric immediately laughed: "You'd better tell Mr Lee." Afterwards, when she was jumping, Eric told her to shout out: "I am a Lee." but Shirley shouted that she was a Yeung. When Eric told her to say: "I like 'little Lee'!" she said: "I like little dogs!" instead.

Michael was fighting for the seaweed with radio DJ Nancy and she was accused of biting off the plastic because she nearly broke the contraption that held the seaweed in place. A new game was introduced in this episode where the guests have to try and do the splits whilst blowing out candles. As Michael was wearing low hip trousers, he was desperately trying to avoid revealing himself by pulling up his trousers as well has holding onto the front in a rather unsavoury scene.

In reaction to being picked on by Eric all the time, Shirley says that she did not mind because she has wanted to be a guest on the show for a long time and Eric was just trying to create a happy atmosphere. As for contesting for the seaweed with Tats, was she frightened by his appearance? Shirley says openly that she she was just staring at the biscuit stick and not at him. When asked if she felt that this game was rather unhygienic, she said that it was okay for a game.

Michael was asked about Eric's comment on him not making his wedding, but he says that he is not superstitious and does not mind. Talking of the rather unattractive scenes of him fixing his trousers for the candle-blowing game, he laughs: "If I did not cover it, then they would need to pixelate the shot!" When asked if he was concerned about swallowing some of the biscuit crumbs that Nancy had spat out, he said that there were only a few and he did not feel it was too unhygienic as it was all in the name of fun and he thinks that Nancy looks healthy enough. As for Belle being asked about whether she was going to get married soon, she immediately denied this, saying that she is currently busy filming and it will be at least one or two years before she gets married.

Do you maybe know what happens between Eric and Micheal?

"Virtues of Harmony" held a special "Double Happiness" promotional event at TVB City yesterday to welcome the news that the show's Kelly Lam Yuk Lo (played by Bondy Chiu) will soon give birth to a pair of twins. During the event, Michael Tse also donned a pregnant suit and joined Bondy in demonstrating yoga for mothers-to-be, causing many laughs.

Bondy says that she has finished filming the childbirth scenes now and the episode should be aired around Christmas time. She says: "Yesterday, we had to film a scene where we were tending to the babies and the two babies were so sweet. Michael was very scared though and when he held one of the babies, he broke out in a sweat! (How about you?) I have a brother who is over ten years younger than me, so I have plenty of experience in childcare and am not afraid at all!" When asked if she has plans to get married, Bondy says she does not because she has not played enough yet. However, she has a lot of friends who have had children this year so she has been in and out of hospital visiting them all.

Michael was asked why he was sweating when he held the baby and he laughs: "Because they were really soft and squishy, like boneless chicken feet and i was afraid that I would hurt their necks. Do you have any childcare experience? Of course not! I am the second youngest and the most I did was take my little brother to kindergarten." When it was mentioned he will be getting married next year and about time he learned to look after children, he smiles: "I will learn as I go along. (Do you plan to have children as soon as you get married?) We'll leave it to nature!" He also jokes that he will not be buying anything from the convenience store...

After spending forty years in the industry, producer Siu Sang retired to Guangzhou several months ago, but there was news yesterday that Uncle Siu had been admitted into hospital with liver problems and his condition is worrying. Having known Siu Sang since her days of black and white movies, Nancy Sit was asked about his condition yesterday and she revealed that Michelle Yim and Helen Ma have both been to visit him in Guangzhou and she has asked them to pass on her wishes to him. At the time, Uncle Siu was still responsive and kept saying to her that he was good. However, reports indicate that the doctors will not give him any more nutrients, so the situation is looking bad.

Nancy says: "I know that Uncle Siu has a very strong will to live, but the doctors have already predicted the worst for him. I have heard that Alex Man and Pak Biu will go and visit him today and he wants to come back to Hong Kong for treatment." After the sad news of James Wong and now this bad news of Uncle Siu, Nancy says that she is very afraid of these reports because it leaves her rather unsettled.

Michael Tse will be marrying his long time girlfriend Tina in January next year and yesterday he released three of his wedding photographs to the press, one of which was rather unusual and playful, featuring Michael flying up in the air.

Michael indicated in a telephone conversation that this set of photographs was taken in October and as the traditional wedding photos are too formal, he wanted to do something a little different, so he tried various different poses to let the photographer have some fresh ideas, but the most important thing is that his bride-to-be looks at her most beautiful.

As Michael is still currently filming for "Virtues of Harmony", he has been using all his spare time preparing for the wedding and he plans to invite over three hundred guests to his banquet and his entourage will consist of half showbiz names and half from outside the industry. Louis Yuen and Johnny Tang will be with the 'brothers', whereas Bondy Chiu will join with the bride's 'sisters'.

[The Sun 21/12/04]

Michael Tse will be getting married in January and he sent out his invitations yesterday, but they were a little different from the usual 'red bombs' [Explanation: Chinese wedding invitations usually in red envelopes and the tradition is you must give the couple a cash gift.], turning against tradition by using a fresh green as the theme and continuing the unconventional approach from their wedding photographs as the card depicts the couple in a 'kung fu' type stance. When Michael was asked whether he was inspired for this design by Stephen Chow's "Kung Fu Hustle" poster, he says that Stephen may have been inspired by him as they had thought of this idea a year ago and there is a meaning behind the picture. He says: "I wanted to symbolise that for a pair of lovers to live together in harmony, then it will not be totally sweet for 365 days of the year as the odd conflict will help to further their understanding of each other. This is an experience I have gained from many years spent with Tina." This set of photographs was shot especially in Thailand and was arranged entirely by Michael, who laughs that his wedding banquet will be like a photographic exhibition.

As for not using the traditional red, Michael says he did not want to give the feeling of 'red bomb' to his friends, so he chose a fresh grass green instead to tie in with the wedding ceremony where he will be saying "I do!" on a grassy setting. Although there is still over twenty days until his wedding day, Micahel says that he is already planning his family: "We have not been buying contraception now and will be leaving it all up to nature."

[Ta Kung Pao 05/01/05]

Nancy Sit, Steven Ma, Linda Chung, Louis Yuen, Joyce Chen and Michael Tse were filming in Admiralty for Steven and Linda's wedding scene, but the bride ran away and everyone else had to chase after her. Afterwards, Linda denied running away from the wedding, saying that her character had received a call to discuss business at the airport so she had to leave everyone including her husband instead.

The taunts continued through filming at the news of Nancy's relationship and Louis said: "If the show reaches 37 points, then Nancy will get married, even if she doesn't then she has to at least reveal him to everyone." As Nancy nodded and laughed, she was asked if she would bring him out and she smiled: "This is something that has to be agreed by both parties, I will try my best!"

Also, Michael will be getting married in real life on January 14th and at the moment he is so nervous that he is suffering from insomnia because he is worried about missing someone's invitation. He says: "Yesterday I dreamed that I went to Louis' home, but it was blowing a typhoon and even the house was blown down. After waking up, he checked in a dream book and this signifies a happy occasion, so he hopes that Louis will also get married soon, but Louis jokes: "I have not found someone I love yet, I keep fighting over guys with Nancy, so if I don't like them I will pass them to her."

[Ta Kung Pao & Oriental Daily 06/01/05]

Nancy Sit, Louis Yuen, Joyce Chen, Linda Chung, Michael Tse, Bondy Chiu, Joe Ma and Halina Tam were filming on location in Stanley for "Virtues of Harmony" yesterday in a scene where Steven is torn between Linda and Halina, who pretended to commit suicide because of him. Luckily they are both fine and Steven finally decides to stay with his beloved Linda, so the Kam family have a barbecue to celebrate. As this was Louis' last night of filming for the series, he and Kingdom Yuen prepared some barbecue foods to share with the other cast and crew members after the filming was done.

During the event, Louis laughed: "Now that filming is finished, I am jobless so after barbecuing the food, we will be burning some offerings as I have brought over ten packs of charcoal (to commit suicide with)! I do not have any work yet, we'll have to see if there are any odd jobs such as housework assistant, picking up odds and ends." Actually Louis was just joking because he has just renewed his contract with TVB in October and he should have new work coming his way. At the moment, he would like to take a vacation and go on holiday, but he will not be heading to the area of the Tsunami disaster until at least after the fundraising event. As for whether he received a pay rise for renewing his contract, he immediately laughed: "Nothing at all, my relationship with TVB is good and not all about money because this will cause a rift. I am only bothered about opportunities to perform because I am still a newcomer!"

Joyce also has not arranged her new work yet, but she indicates that she does not mind because after filming "Virtues" for several years now, she would like to take a rest, especially as she is not the type to think too much about the future. Joyce will soon be discussing contract renewal terms with TVB, so will she be signing again. She says openly that she is not sure yet because a lot of things will happen unexpectedly, just like the Tsunami. With reports that she is turning down the sexy star route, shooting swimwear articles for magazines, is this the way she is is planning to head? She says that personally she does not mind taking sexy photos as long as they make her look beautiful, but as some magazines will use them the wrong way and print some dirty captions alongside, then there was a time when she would not do these shoots. However, her manager has been taking these on for her lately and she has been keeping fit, so she gave it a try and the reaction has not been too bad. When asked if she has received more work after the article was published, she says that she has received one or two more store opening jobs and hopes that she can film ads such as skincare products or swimwear fashion in the future.

Linda's skirt was burned by some flying embers from the barbecue yesterday, but luckily this was a costume from the company and not one of her own dresssed. Talking of many of the stars of "Virtues" yet to receive new work, but Linda has already been sent to star in new series "Always on Standby", she feels very lucky, smiling: "Don't say that, they have filmed for four years now, so it is time to take a breaks. I believe that the company will definitely have work for them.

Nancy has agreed to donate over a thousand costume items from the show to celebrity charity auction.

[Ta Kung Pao 07/01/05]

Sitcom "Virtues of Harmony" will be airing its last episode on 22nd of this month and on that night, there will be a live broadcast show. As all the filming is now complete for the show, the cast members including Nancy Sit, Kingdom Yeun, Michael Tse, Bondy Chiu, Joyce Chen and Steven Ma had a celebratory dinner earlier, sharing the show's success with the rest of the cast and crew. TVB Production Executive Catherine Tsang was also present and as well as asking her sponsors to donate many gifts for the raffle, Nancy also gave out a $10,000 prize from her own pocket.

Reports indicate that the ancient version of the show reached 326 episodes and the modern version amassed 443 episodes, giving a grand total of 769 that is among TVB's records. The Korean Series "Dae Jang Geum" (Jewel In The Palace) will be aired in place of "Virtues". When asked if she would miss the cast, Catherine indicated that she would not because we can still see them in other series. After finishing filming today, Nancy will start work immediately on an advertisement before heading out to Malaysia to receive an award and therefore unable to attend the fundraising show tomorrow. Nancy says that at first when Catherine approached her to do the ancient "Virtues" series, she was afraid of the hard work at one point and wanted to turn it down, but after much persuasion, she stayed on and never imagined that the show would have such a great reception and break such a record. She smiles: "Although sometimes Catherine can be quite stern, she is very accurate when it comes to most things."

Steven filmed his last scene earlier and this was to pay his respects at a temple memorial hall. Also, he was filming at a cemetary on New Year's Day, but he says he is not superstitious. He says: "I remember when I was filming a few years ago for 'Perish in the Name of Love' and the afternoon when I received the news of my grandmother's death was followed by an evening session where I had to wear red wedding clothes to film a marriage scene. I felt really awful about it, but afterwards I thought it through and as an artiste, I should not worry about these things too much and even if I have to lie in a coffin, then I will do it, but I have to ask for a lucky packet." Also Steven went to Guangzhou yesterday to film for an advertisement and so he will not be able to join the fundraising show, but he has already donated $20,000.

Joyce will be taking a holiday soon to Shanghai and Beijing. At first she was planning to go to Japan, but after hearing that there may be earthquakes and tsunamis there too, then she has changed her mind and decided to go to Shanghai to see the development there and maybe find herself a handsome man. Although her manager Yuen has often tried to introduce her to a partner and they are all financially founded, Joyce only wants someone she can connect with. Whether they are rich or not does not matter, so she has still not found the one. She smiles: "I hope that after 'Virtues' ends, people can start to forget the rumours between me and Johnny Tang."

Linda will begin filming for TVB's new series "Always on Standby" soon and as the character of 'Hung Pak Nam' in "Virtues" was too popular, she is planning to cut her hair to give viewers a different perspective of her.

Michael will be marrying his fiancee Tina next Friday and they will be holding a wedding reception at the Hong Kong Country Club for their family and friends. After finishing filming for "Virtues" in the early hours of the morning, he was still handing out invitations. Yesterday, Michael and Tina were invited onto Nancy's Metro Radio show for an interview and were presented with Lotus Seeds, lucky packets and an electric rice cooker.

Michael was full of good words for his fiancee, saying she has a wonderful and straight personality and is full of love. He adds that although he has been dating Tina for eleven years, they still feel like they have just fallen in love and when he holds he hand, he will still sweat and when he sits beside her, he still feels rather emotional. He also remembers there were a few problems when he proposed to his fiancee, because when he was on a skiing holiday with Tina last year in Canada, he had prepared a ring to propose to her on the top of a mountain. In order to surprise her, he seemed rather relaxed along the way there and just kept the ring in their bags, with Tina not noticing. However, on the first day of the holiday, someone broke into their car and stole their bags with the ring inside and it was only when he explained the contents to the police that Tina realised how sincere he was and she was so touched that she was speechless.

Tina says sweetly: "Seeing Michael's expression when he lost the ring, he was both flushed and pale at the same time and I had never seen him so excited. Usually he just sees money and other material items very lightly, but that night, he could not sleep at all." Michael says that when he had to describe the ring and its value to the police, his fiancee was shocked. However, it was all a strong memory and at least he won his lady's heart.

[Oriental Daily & The Sun 13/01/05]

Michael Tse will be getting married tomorrow (14th Jan) to his long time girlfriend Tina and yesterday one of his entourage Johnny Tang accompanied him to a final fitting of his outfit. When Michael donned his dinner jacket, Johnny laughed: "Your outfit looks just like that of my father (the late Cantonese Opera star Tang Wing Cheung), when he got married, black tie and tails, just the trousers weren't grey." Michael then tried on an open collar evening suit and laughed that he will have to 'push out' his chest muscles. Johnny laughed jokingly: "Add a couple of brushes of shadows on, I am good at that!"

Groom-to-be Michael says: "Bondy and the rest of the 'sisters' will be very tough and I have heard along the grapevine that they will be planning lots of tricks to play. Luckily there are only four of them and there are eight of my 'brothers' with me including Johnny, Louis Yuen and Timmy Hung, so we should be able to beat them on just numbers." Johnny joked: "We will be like muggers - two brothers to each girl, dancing in to pick up the bride. I was thinking of getting Michael a mistress for the stag night." As Michael was doubled over with laughter, he said: "No mistresses, no strippers, just a blow up doll."

Tomorrow afternoon, the happy couple will be marrying at the Hong Kong Country Club and then holding a buffet reception in the evening. As for the news that good friend Chapman To will also be getting married soon, Michael is very happy for him, also revealing that Chapman had asked him about tips for marriage after the fundraising event at the Hong Kong Stadium earlier. Michael says: "I knew there was something up, so of course I gave him some advice. I have heard that Andy Lau will be sponsoring his reception, if that is true, then I am very envious of him!"

[Ta Kung Pao, Oriental Daily & The Sun 15/01/05]

Michael Tse finally ended his twelve year pursuit of the hand of his girlfriend Tina Lee in a romantic marriage ceremony yesterday. The couple followed the Chinese traditions as the groom collected the bride from her home in the morning before the ceremony was held at Sham Shui Po Country Club in the afternoon. At the venue, there were many photographs of the couple on their special photo shoot in Thailand for the guests to share in their happiness. As it was a very private venue, the press and guests were all asked to switch off their phones and even TVB's own camera crew were strictly regulated so they did not accidentally film any of the club's other members.

The venue for the couple's wedding with its sea views was extremely romantic and the bride was led into the ceremony at the arm of her father as she received the well wishes from her guests and then in the presence of their parents, family and friends, they were joined in matrimony by the deputy registrar before Michael kissed his bride, sealing their love. They both seemed very nervous as they exchanged their rings and Timmy Hung helped the atmosphere by laughing: "Put some emotion into it!" The bride then pulled a cheeky face that caused some amusement.

The 'brothers' in Michael's entourage included Timmy Hung, Louis Yuen, Johnny Tang and choreographer Sunny Wong, whilst Tina's four sisters were led by Bondy Chiu. What was a little unusual was that there was a best man, but no bridesmaid. Michael's screen wife Bondy wore a pastel orange dress together with trainers. Other guests at the ceremony included Patrick Tam, Cheung Tat Ming and his wife, Sima Yin, Bobby Au Yeung's wife and Emotion Cheung and his wife Cheung Yin. Emotion also played photographer for the whole day, helping out very enthusiastically. Michael's two former singing partners Jordan Chan and Jason Chu were also present.

The weather yesterday was rather cold, but luckily the sun was shining and this made the scene much warmer. Michael was thankful to the heavens for keeping the rain away as he had been worried about this for a while. However, in preparation for the wedding, he had been extremely anxious and has not had enough sleep for several nights. Michael says that although he has filmed many wedding scenes in the past, the real thing is very different and of course he is very nervous. when asked if this was his dream wedding, Michael says that it is about 90% of what he had dreamed of and everyone was very happy. After the registration ceremony, there was a cocktail party before a buffet style reception in the evening.

As for the performance of his brothers, Michael was full of praise for their support, doing all his forfeits for him such as Timmy wearing a bra and knickers to run to the supermarket and buy sanitary towels and Louis having to go and catch a wild chicken. Michael says that the sisters were very careful in picking tasks that focussed on their weaknesses and when Timmy gets married in the future, he will certainly repay the favour and help him out. As for whether the lucky packet was astronomical, Michael says: "Of course it was sky high, but in the end I gave them a sum that was acceptable. After all the thought they had put into the games, it was worth it."

Michael reveals that he has been preparing for this wedding since he proposed a year ago and he kept putting off the booking until three months before. Luckily his friend is a member of the country club and booked the venue on his behalf. He also says that his wife had previously been practising her signature to sign the register so that she did not shake too much when she was signing it for real, but when the time came, she was still very nervous and had extremely sweaty palms! As for their plans to start a family, Michael says that he will follow the course of nature.

Timmy revealed that Louis was a little tearful when he watched Michael's wedding ceremony and Louis explained: "I was happy for them because I knew the bride first and then I watched them both start dating and now they are finally married." However, Louis was frightened to tears when he was made to face his greatest fear - chickens. "The sisters targeted our weaknesses and they made me open a box that had a chicken in it. This idea had to come from Bondy! They made me pose for a photo with the chicken, but I couldn't do it, so I held it inside the box, but I was so frightened that I broke out in a sweat!"

Congratulations to Michael and Tina!

Michael Tse was married two days ago and he held a Western buffet style reception in the evening. MC'ed by good friend Louis Yuen, Patrick Lui and Nelson Cheung were the singers for the night. Among the guests from the entertainment industry were Jordan Chan, Julian Cheung and Anita Yuen, Nat Chan, Nancy Sit, Frankie Lam and Kenix Kwok, Cheung Tat Ming, Vincent Kok, Linda Chung, Yvonne Lam, Chan Ling Li and the soon to be married Chapman To and Krystal Tin.

Nancy revealed that the groom sang many love songs at the reception, making his bride very happy indeed. Nancy laughs: "As the weather was quite chilly, many of the female guests were wearing fur. As well as telling the story of how he proposed, he also played the guitar and sung to her, making the bride extremely emotional as she rushed onto the stage to hug him. It turns out that the guitar he used was given to him by Tina a few years ago, but he had never used it until his wedding day, when after much practice, he played and sung 'A Better Man' making the whole scene very romantic!"

Also, Vincent, Tat Ming and Jordon joined in playing games with the newlywed couple including a 'Find the Bride' game where a blindfolded Michael guessed that Jordan was Tina, but luckily still managed to get the right person in the end. The couple will soon be heading out to America and Canada on their honeymoon.

After a four year run, the TVB situation comedy blockbuster "Virtues of Harmony" is finally drawing to a close as the final episode is aired this evening. As well as the originally planned ending, there will also be a half hour special for the show's cast to share some of the interesting moments over the years.

In the show, Steven Ma will be explaining the earlier news about the ghostly apparition of a figure resembling Anita Mui in an earlier episode. He says: "When I was shooting the scene, there was a canvas bookcase behind us and on the shelf was a magazine. The image could have been from the magazine, but afterwards, the crew could not find any trace of the magazine." He also says that when the episode was aired, he was in Hengdian filming and only saw it when a friend emailed it to him. Apart from this scene, another spooky time was when three heads appeared on the kitchen counter whilst Linda Chung was in a scene cooking breakfast. Steven says: "I think that those must have been computer generated. (Are you afraid?) I have never been afraid of ghostly incidents because I have not done anything wrong."

As most of the cast members will be away doing stage appearances over the Chinese New Year, the cast and crew had an early New Year dinner and cast members present included Nancy Sit, Steven Ma, Linda Chung, Louis Yuen, Joyce Chen, Michael Tse and Bondy Chiu. The deputy director of drama department Catherine Tsang also took part an shared some funny moments with everyone as well as giving Nancy a big hug on the stage. During the event, many records set by "Virtues" were announced such as the 772 episodes each of 30 minutes resulting in 23,160 minutes of airtime; racking up 6,948,000 characters in the scripts that if stacked together would be over ten feet thick. Also the show used 33,196 metres of film that is almost as long as the Airport Express railway line.

Nancy, Louis, Michael and Cutie will be heading out to America on 26th for some stage shows and Nancy will also be seeking out a suitable university for her son on this trip. When asked if her boyfriend would be accompanying her, Nancy said hesitantly: "He is very busy, but I will be returning to Hong Kong on the fourth day of the new year because the fifth is Valentines day." Last year, as Nancy was busy filming for "Virtues", then even her stage performances were very rushed, always flying out at night and returning in the morning. However, now that the show has finished, she can breathe a sigh of relief and enjoy her trips. After the new year, she will be heading out to Australia and New Zealand to do stage shows. Originally, the promoters agreed to let her head back to Hong Kong early, but she insisted on staying a little longer to take in the sights.

Nancy led the rest of the cast members in a singalong at the event, but she was so excited that she fluffed the words and went out of tune, whilst Steven and Yu Yeung were rolling around causing great amusement. With happiness, there comes a moment of sadness and Nancy said weepily: "After filming, there will be a lot of people jobless again, but I know that Catherine will make arrangements. Although there were some 'meetings with the management' during filming, it was all for our own good."

Linda Chung & Michael Tse Treat "Best Bet" Cast to BBQ
Michael Tse Tin Wah and Linda Chung's new series, "Best Bet" 《迎妻接福》, formerly known as "Gambler Yi Takes a Wife" 《爛賭義當老婆》will be broadcast on February 12th. Michael and Linda contributed money to treat the cast and crew to an outdoor barbeque, hoping for good ratings and positive audience reception for the series.

"Best Bet" is the first series in which Michael will be assuming the lead male role. He is quite nervous, but was generous with his wallet in treating everyone to a meal. "Everyone put in their best efforts to film this series. Tonight is just an occasion for us to have a good meal together!"

Linda Chung, Chan Hoi Yee, and Lam Yi Kei were also at the barbeque. Michael said, "Tonight was very cold, but the atmosphere was very lively. Everyone offered suggestions for the series' new title. The name 迎妻接福 carries a wonderful Lunar New Year spirit, matching the broadcasting timeframe!"

Michael joked, "This series is like taking an exam for me. The audience will give me a score. Each year, I normally travel during the Lunar New Year holiday, but this year I will stay in Hong Kong to promote for 'Best Bet.' I will distribute more red envelopes and make everyone happy!"

The normally frugal Linda was extremely happy to treat everyone to the barbeque meal. She laughed, "Why would I feel the pinch in treating? It makes everyone happy. But the weather was very cold and I didn't wear enough clothes, so I was shivering. Normally I am afraid of fire, but I sat by it all night to stay warm!"

Linda also mentioned that Producer Lee Tim Sing will be retiring in 1-2 years. Brother Tim was like Santa Claus at the barbeque, as everyone wanted to take a photo with him!"

Linda Chung Avoids Kiss from Michael Tse
Cast members from TVB's Chinese New Year series "Best Bet" including Michael Tse, Linda Chung, Anne Heung and Wayne Lai donned their costumes to attend a promotional event yesterday, which was held up by half an hour as everyone waited for Michael to get changed. During the event, they played three games and in one of these, Anne and Linda had to put some bright red lipstick onto their male partners lips and make an imprinto on a card. The playful Michael tried to print it onto Linda's forehead, but she escaped quickly, leaving Wayne laughing he should have tried to kiss her body instead. In the later treasure hunting game, Oscar Leung scared everyone off by flicking water everywhere with his net and it was down to the intervention by MC Kanin Ngo to calm everyone down.

Linda laughs that this is the first time that she has put lipstick on a man and she gave Michael some full plump lips. She found it great fun and talking of nearly being kissed by him, she said nervously: "He has a wife! (If the ratings are good, will you kiss Michael?) If the ratings break 30 points, I will consider it." Asked if she does not want to kiss Michael, she immediately denied this and unable to handle the fierce questioning from the press, she signalled for help from Michael. As for the recent reports that she has been given special treatment to go and film a movie, Linda explains that this was all arranged by the company. As for the favouritism shown by the director Yip Nim Sum for her and Stephy Tang, she says: "In that wedding scene, I was wearing a dress with a very long train, so to avoid getting in the way of other people, I sat a little further away. The director is very fair with everyone." As for the rumours between Stephy and the director, Linda says that this is their private matter and she will not interfere.

Michael indicates that the kiss scenes in this show were all just done by camera anglesand in response to Linda's pledge to kiss him if the ratings top 30 points, he smiles that she can push the limit to 31 if she wants. However, he says that he is a little worried about the ratings over Chinese New Year, because people will be going away on vacation and so if he gets good reviews, then this is already a reward. When the reporters joke about whether he is worried about upsetting his wife, who is suspected to be pregnant, so he evades the topic of kissing, he smiles: "No, I am not avoiding it! If we are expecting a baby, I will let everyone know."

'Aggressive' Michael Tse Promoting New Series
TVB's new series "Best Bet" held a promotional event yesterday, attended by cast members including Michael Tse, Linda Chung, Anne Heung and Wayne Lai. The two couples wore Chinese and Western wedding outfits to play games and the men had to complete three challenges to win their 'wives'. Getting far too absorbed into the game, Michael was accused of being rather 'aggressive' towards Linda and for Anne who wore a low cut wedding dress, she almost revealed herself.

During the games, MC Carlo Ng was cracking plenty of innuendos, for example when Wayne put the gold nuggets down his trousers, he warned Wayne to be careful of causing himself an injury and then when he noticed Michael being rather forward, Carlo threatened to report him to his wife. The four leads then had to present tea to the elders and to adjust for the camera, Michael and Linda ended up lying on the ground. When it was Anne's turn, she had to reach out, but fortunately she remembered to cover her chest to avoid revealing herself. When Anne was playing games, it became obvious that her bust appears to be bigger than before and she says that the cast often laugh at her about this as there is another costume that emphasises this even more.

As for being labelled as aggressive, is Michael worried about being scolded by his wife? Michael says: "I am scolded by my wife every day." When she was picked up by Michael, Linda's headdress fell to the ground and she smiles that this is the reason why she should not get married this year. She says she has been very happy filming this series and she has been joining forces with Anne to play tricks on Michael, treating him like a human toy. Talking of Michael being aggressive towards her, she says that Michael has always treated her like a boy and she sees him like a sister, so she will not lose out to him and even kiss scenes are very relaxed. Wearing a Chinese Wedding Dress, she cannot be compared to Anne in her Western gown, but Linda does not mind because she likes the Chinese dresses and their traditional flavour.

Linda Chung Sings Well at "Best Bet" Promotion
Michael Tse, Linda Chung, Anne Heung, Wayne Lai and Kanin Ngo took part in a promotional event for new series "Best Bet" in a shopping mall yesterday. As well as playing games to win golden pigs with the audience, the artistes themselves also had the chance to win and Kanin was the lucky recipient. The stars then handed out golden chocolates to the audience and the playful Michael even threw them up to the people watching on the first floor to make everyone happy. Linda and Anne were approached by fans eager to have their photos taken and autographs in what was a very happy atmosphere.

Linda performed the show's theme song on the stage and she seemed very calm. She says that in the past she was too nervous and gave a bad performance, so after singing live in Singapore, she is not as nervous now and treats it as singing karaoke with her friends. This year she will be working for most of the year on "Jewels Splendor" and she says she had a quiet new year because she spent her days off at home with her mother cleaning up. She says: "I would rather work over the new year because my friends and family are all abroad, so it is not as boring at work and I can receive more lucky packets. (Your progress was quite good last week, have you given your mother a big lucky packet?) No, I usually give her all my money anyway, so there is no need for a lucky packet. Taking more time out to spend with her would make her happier."

Talking of the ratings for "Best Bet" only averaging at 26 points, Linda and Michael are not disappointed, saying this was expected because a lot of people go away for the new year in Hong Kong. They believe that things will get better towards the end of the show. Michael says: "The series is turning into a home straight now and there is some drama to follow and a lot of power to come, so there is no need to worry. (This is your first leading role, are you not worried?) I was worried, but with the new year I am more relaxed." Michael is more concerned about the reviews and he has seen some good responses on the internet and at least there is no bad criticism from the netizens, who say it is very funny and the script is very cheeky.

Anne wore a red coat for the event and looked like a human lucky packet. She joked: "I was worried that I would blend into the background boards, but I rarely wear red usually, so I have worn it especially for the new year."

For the new year, Anne found a small new year fortune and said happily: "On the first and second day, I played mah jong with my parents and won a little of their money and then when I played with my friends later, I also won. Although it was just a few thousand dollars, it was quite lucky." Asked if she will build on this luck with her investments, Anne says that after this promotion, she will be meeting a friend to talk about suitable investment funds. She says: "I don't know how to play the stock market and I usually don't pay much attention to financial matters. In the past, I would pass my money to my mother to save for me in the bank, but this year I will learn to invest. (The stocks are booming at the moment?) I have never had much gambling luck and don't even win anything on raffles, so I am quite afraid of investing in stocks. Funds are better for saving money, so I would prefer the stability."

No Gambling, Just Delicious Food for Michael Tse in Macau
TVB New Year series "Best Bet" stars Michael Tse and his 'wife' Linda Chung took part in a promotional interview at Metro radio yesterday. Talking of the ratings being below expectations, Michael smiles that to reach 26 points at the new year is already very good, because people go away around this time and the ratings usually see a drop. Then he went on to talk about the show's storyline and says: "This week, the drama steps up to a climax and I will be pawning my screen-wife Linda. (Are you confident of ratings?) After the show has been aired, I have asked for reactions from the audience and they are all positive, so I am not worried."

In the show, Michael's character is a compulsive gambler, but how about in real life? In response to this, he says that he does not like gambling and even when he goes to Macau, he will not gamble and just go in search of delicacies. He only plays cards with his friends at the new year and he plays just for fun, not to win money.

Michael Tse Not Up for Child Tax Cuts for Now
The new season of the American reality show "The Apprentice" will soon be airing on TVB Pearl and a promotional event was held in Causeway Bay earlier. Michael Tse, Sharon Luk, Heidi Chu and Stephen Wong attended as potential 'apprentices', firstly dressed in office gear and then playing games. In the end, Michael and Sharon's team lost and had to wear slippers and rough clothing, whilst Heidi and Stephen were rewarded with a caviar treat.

The suit that Sharon was wearing was worn whilst she was an air stewardess, but she says that she was a little embarrassed at having to change into flip-flops. She has watched "The Apprentice" before and asked if she has learned any skills to aid her progression, she says: "There is competition in any industry, not only in showbiz." Michael changed into shorts and slippers and his legs were described as 'fluorescent tubes' [slim and white] by the reporters. He says: "My legs are so attractive! They are my secret weapon and many girls are very envious of me."

Talking of the announcement of this years budget by Financial Secretary Mr Henry Tang yesterday, where he increased the tax reduction for people with children, Michael says that this will benefit people with children and those planning to have children, but he will not benefit just yet. He says that these breaks are like a reward really. Has he planned to have children? He feels that having children is something you need to plan ahead on and you have to look at suitable arrangements need to be made and if they decrease taxes this year but increase it the following year, then it doesn't mean anything. They will have to cut taxes for at least three to five years before it gives me that confidence. However, he says that he has gained in his personal income tax and general taxation.

Michael Tse Pledges to Quit Smoking
After many unsuccesful attempts to quit smoking, Michael Tse took part in a "Speed Quitting Competition" event yesterday, where he pledged to quit his habit of over 20 years in just four weeks. During the event, he had a carbon monoxide check that indicated that his addition was average.

Michael has tried to give up in the past and the best he has managed was five days. This time he has the support from his family and even his wife is joining him in the programme, which is very scientific and successful. There is no need to take pills and this makes him confident of successfully quitting this time. Asked if he and his wife are giving up because they would like to have children, Michael says that this is one of the reasons, because if the parents are healthy, then the children will also be healthy, but there are other reasons, such as when he saw people fainting in the Hong Kong Marathon and he says: "TVB has started filming using HD technology and this means that artistes' appearances and skin will appear very clearly. Giving up smoking will improve my skin and I will look better on the screen!"

Asked whether he will be avoiding his smoking friends when he gives up, Michael says that he is worried about the temptation when he is with these friends, but he will not avoid them. He smiles: "I am most worried that when I give up, I will put on a lot of weight!" Talking of the smoker's faces of other artistes, Michael says that Yuen Chau's smoking face in movies is the most revolting.

Michael Tse Quits Smoking in Just Five Weeks
In order to promote the message about quitting smoking, the relevant departments have organised a special 'Speed-Quitting Competition' and Michael Tse was the first to take part in this, successfully stopping smoking in just five weeks. After smoking for over twenty years, Michael admits that at first he was extremely tempted, but now he has successfully quit and he feels a lot healthier.

Michael says that the first period of giving up was very hard and sometimes when his wife was not around, he would sneak the odd cigarette, but after meeting with the event's pharmacist, he managed to lose the cravings. Is Michael so eager to give up because he plans to have children? He did not reply directly and just said that whatever the reason, giving up smoking is good for the person and for his work and it is only for the good.

Next month, Michael will be filming a Qing period drama with Jordan Chan, when he will have to shave his head. Asked if he is worried that after shaving his hair off, then it will not grow back as thickly, he syas that he has already asked advice from Ekin Cheng about how to care for his head and seeing how his hair has grown back thick and healthy, then Michael is not worried at all. Jordan is a very heavy smoker, is he worried he will be tempted by Jordan? He says that he is confident he will not be affected and he will also encourage Jordan to give up by tempting him to eat fruit instead.

Michael Tse, Sheren Tang & Kiki Sheung at 'Family Link' Promotion
TVB's new series "The Family Link" held a promotion yesterday in Tseung Kwan O, attended by Sheren Tang, Kiki Sheung, Michael Tse and Kenneth Ma. The stars wore army themed outfits as they went shopping in the marketplace with just $30 and caused a little chaos as the stallholders complained about them getting in the way of business during the peak trading hours. Although the fruitstall owner complained about them affecting his business, he was still eager to get their autographs as he said: "I will lose at least $2000 in business at this rate, I'd better get myself an autograph though." In the end, Kiki's team won the competition and as Sheren and Michael's team lost, they had to undergo a forfeit, with Michael and Kenneth being forced to put on some boxer shorts in public, which was very funny.

Michael and Sheren play a married couple in the series and they have a son and daughter aged 6 and 7 respectively. Sheren indicated that the children were very close to him, Michael smiled: "When we were off set, Sheren would push everything onto me, so I had to look after the children and I had to combine the soft and the hard approach with them." As for the rumours that his wife is pregnant, Michael smiles avoidingly: "I didn't know that! (How would you not know?) I didn't ask! She did not say either. (Are you afraid of it being too early to say?) Are you talking about Hacken? He is [having a baby]. (Are you mentally prepared to be a father?) I am mentally prepared to shave my head for a new series. (How will you look after your wife when you are filming?) When I am filming, my wife will look after me." When the reporters found they weren't getting anywhere with him, they changed tack and asked him if his wife fell pregnant, would he announce it? He says continuing his jokes: "If Sheren has one, then I will definitely tell everyone."

As for Kiki, she does usually go to the markets to buy ingredients for her soup and as for the complaints about them getting in the way, she syas: "So when we left, I did apologise to them for inconveniencing them. We filmed in this market before, somtimes until about 5pm and there were a lot of housewives who complained, but some were very good and stopped to chat with us. One chicken stall holder even asked me to introduce his son into acting."

After filming this series, Sheren feels that it is a hard life being a housewife, but this has not put her off getting married and has made her realise what marriage is actually about, giving all your time and money to yuor children. When you don't need to worry about romance any more, then life becomes more stable and you no longer have as many fantasies. She smiles: "Love in marriage changes into a different kind of love and that is one of acceptance. (It will be okay if you don't have children?) My chances are slim, I don't even have a husband yet." Sheren hopes that this series can give comfort and encouragement to the hardworking housewives.

As for going shopping in the markets, Sheren says that when she lived in Clearwater Bay, she would often go out and buy groceries, but now she is in a new home and her mother cooks for her, then she rarely goes to the market any more. However, she had started shopping in the market from a young age and it gives her a very homely feeling because no matter how you look, the stallholders will always call you 'pretty sister', then naturally say something flattering about you, so it is a good place to check on your popularity levels. Has she been scolded at by the housewives? She smiles: "No, even when I was playing Yu Fei, they would not scold me. Maybe they would say: 'You are so evil!', but they did not mean it maliciously because the viewers understand it is just acting."

Vanessa Yeung Interviews Michael Tse on Married Life and Why it's OK to be a Nasty Man
Vanessa Yeung and Michael Tse seem to be the most mutually exclusive couple in showbiz, but they had in fact worked together for Anthony Wong's music video many years ago and as they meet again for this interview, Michael talks about the highs and lows of life in showbiz as well as how he maintains a happy married life.

V = Vanessa Yeung
M = Michael Tse

Put Aside your Pride and Vanity

V: You went from singing into movies with many people around to cater for you. Was it hard to adapt when you went into TV?

M: Well the movie industry is more commercial, with each crew's budget going into hundreds of thousands, then of course they have to make sure that the cast are in the best spirits to give their best performance. TV is more about you struggling to promote yourself and only then do the rest of the cast and crew know how hard you are working and it is not just down to luck or backing.

V: Are you not afraid of being branded as a failure in the field of music and movies?

M: In my case it was a little unusual because I emerged from being a dancer at the TV station so after I rejoined the company, I was able to pay my respects first. In this industry, the secret is that you cannot be shy, because if you are shy, you cannot put aside your pride and give a good performance.

V: Your portrayal of 'Nasty Man' was a very bad character, why did you choose to play this role?

M: In my world, there are many kinds of good people and even the nasty people range from those who are slightly nasty to those who are totally evil! I like those who are a little bit bad because these characters live in the grey area.

V: You have never studied acting, where did you get your skills from?

M: I like to watch a lot of movies. Sometimes it was quite scary and once during filming for 'A Kindred Spirit', I had to act in front of so many veterans and to hide my fear, I would say my lines very loudly and overact. In the end, Lee Si Kei pulled me aside and told me not to exaggerate so much!

Supporting Sheren Tang's Wins

V: Which of your co-stars has left the deepest impression on you?

M: Sheren Tang, she is a very clever artiste and as soon as we start shooting, she will be 100% absorbed and even when we are eating, she will still show signs of her character and it is very cute! Nancy Sit, she is a very resilient character and I admire her a lot.

V: Who would you most like to work with?

M: I would like to work with Adam Cheng and Damian Lau. They have such control over their acting and is it at a superior level.

V: I feel you are like the male version of Sheren, at peace with the world.

M: She is someone who is undoubtable. Even if you see the official figures and it makes you mad, you just have to look at the responses to see that she has won by a mile. She just looks at the process and does not care for the final results.

V: Why don't you film in the mainland? Some people say that you can make in a year what would take you ten years in Hong Kong.

M: Someone has asked me to, but I feel that my foundation is insufficient and the concrete beneath my feet is still wet, so it would be easy for me to fall with just a small push. I will wait until it is dry and firm.

Pushed into Marriage by Girlfriend

V: You lived together with your girlfriend before you got married. Many men will not get married if they are co-habiting already, so why did you get married?

M: For every couple who are co-habiting, there will be a time when the man will think about whether or not to get married, if you want to then just prepare for it. If you don't then just continue to live together.

V: The girlfriend would be very helpless waiting for the man to decide!

M: I don't oppose women to take the lead in some situations, sometimes men need a push before they will move and this is a natural laziness in men.

V: Were you subjected to a little push?

M: For me...

V: A little! Yes, you have answered! Many people would like to have children after marriage, have you thought about this?

M: I did think about it at first, but I did not get married just to have children.

V: Why don't you think about it now?

M: Because I was frightened by Lee Lai San. It is so expensive to have a child and today's society with the problems in education and the chaotic system that is worse than before. Studying in an international school is good for development of morals and intelligence, but you have to sacrifice a lot of money.

V: Are you not ready for this?

M: I would still like to enjoy our wedded bliss!

Avoiding Cursing During Arguments

V: Have things changed after marriage?

M: I said to my wife that we would try to keep things as they were and not change too much, otherwise there will be a danger of pressure and added responsibility. I will talk to her about everything, even if it is insignificant and one topic can grow into many others.

V: Is this how you keep things fresh between you?

M: Yes, every married couple should be like this and when you do argue, then no matter how hot-headed you become, I will ask of myself not to curse because this makes the hurtful words very sharp and even if you recover, there will be scars. Without the swearing, then the injuries are not as deep and you will be more harmonious.

V: A friend of mine was told by his mother before his wedding that if the woman is unhappy after marriage, then it is his fault and he has to apologise first, this is the only way to keep the marriage going!

M: So I say that in the whole world, the women in Hong Kong are the most fortunate because they are so well looked after at home. Women in other countries are not like that.

Michael Tse Would Like to Shave Charmaine's Legs
Michael Tse and Jordan Chan prepared for their new series "Steel Lips Silver Teeth" with a headshaving ceremony, joined by female lead Charmaine Sheh. Seeing the men having so much fun, she wanted to join in the fun, so she picked up the shaver and helped them out, but left their heads in a bit of a mess. Michael requested the stylist to leave him with a punk hairstyle until he shaves it clear later on today.

Michael says that he will miss his hair a little, but he has not kept any as a memento because it will slowly grow back again. He says: "Yesterday, I originally asked my wife to give me a punk hairdo, but after an hour, it failed and we just gave up and I had to ask the stylist to do it for me." Michael has not worked with Jordan for a while now and he hopes to convince him into giving up smoking, but says disappointedly: "I don't think he can do it, I can just mention it more in front of him."

For Jordan, this is the second time he has shaved his hair for a series after "Duke of Mount Deer" earlier. He is used to it now, but he laughs: "I had my hair permed especially for this!" As for Michael hoping he will quit smoking, he says with confusion: "In the show he has to smoke a pipe, so we will have to see if he is quitting or if I am." For Charmaine who will have her costume fitting today, she says she is envious of their shaved heads because it seems so refreshing and she would not have to spend so much time doing her hair, especially when schedules are tight, then a bald head is more convenient. As for her first attempt at shaving someone's head, she says she was worried about hurting them. When asked about her catching the top of Michael's head, she laughs: "It serves him right, he is always so cheeky. He just said he would like to shave my legs for me!"

Sheren & Michael's 'Family of Four' at Promotion
To promote new series "The Family Link", cast members including Sheren Tang, Kiki Sheung, Michael Tse, Kenneth Ma, Leila Tong, Fala Chen and the children appeared at an event in a shopping mall, with Sheren attending despite illness. The cast split into teams and Kiki's team were finally awarded as the 'model family' and Kiki re-enacted a scene from the show, where she grabbed hold of Al Wai like a koala, making everyone in the audience laugh out loud.

Sheren indicated that she was suffering from a chest infection and she had been to see the doctor, but she is still not completely recovered so she was sounding very husky. The ratings for the show have been standing high since its release and asked if she thinks it will get any higher, she indicates that the story will move into a climax this week, where her character starts to suspect that her husband Michael has a cross-dressing habit and plans on how to help him deal with it. As the subject matter is quite bold and involves scenes around the topic of sexual behaviour, Sheren feels that this is part of normal life, but she does agree that the writers have been quite bold and during the filming, Michael was nervously asking if it was okay and indicating how frightened he was. Sheren on the other hand was bolder because she is the ambassador for sexual health after all. She says that often housewives will place their sex life last in their priorities and this show will help remind them to still focus on life's enjoyment. She says that in the past she would share these experiences with her husband, but now she cannot accept sex before marriage due to her beliefs, but when she is married, then she can do whatever she wants.

Asked if he was very frightened about the sexual scenes, Michael laughs: "Sheren gave me goosebumps, I have never had goosebumps whilst filming before!" Asked what the scene is about, he insists that he will not tell how Sheren 'heals' him and just says that he was frightened and concerned whether it could be aired, so when Sheren indicated the producer was happy for it to be aired, he bit his lip and carried on. Aside from this, there have been complaints about the way he pushes up his glasses in the show. Michael says he never imagined such a small gesture could be picked up by the viewers.

Fala's popularity has risen recently with one series being aired after another and appearing in both prime time series at the moment. Her characters are very different though because she plays a villain in "Family". She says she does not mind this new venture, but wearing a bikini is already her limits. She says that she is becoming well known for being a villain, but she accepts that as an artiste she has to try different roles and compared to the roles where she is just in the background, then she does not mind being scolded in the street. She says: "Fortunately I have not been scolded yet!"

Also, she is currently busy filming for new series "Golden Destiny", in the show she will be pregnant and also commit suicide and she says that in real life she has never met with anything so dramatic and she is an optimistic person, so she will never commit suicide because she is afraid of her parents being sad. As for the reports that she will be putting away her sexiness, she feels that a natural and healthy look is acceptable and she will be doing some swimwear shows soon. She says that as an artiste, you cannot hide yourself away and she will wear bikinis to film even if she does not dare to wear them normally.

"Family Link" Stars Celebrate Success and Hope for Sequel
TVB series "The Family Link" reached an average of 38 points in its finale and peaked at 44 points, reaching the top average ratings for 2007 and to celebrate this, TVB spent a five figure sum on a banquet at the Royal Plaza hotel for the cast and crew to celebrate, totalling 11 tables. As well as the three 'housewives' Kiki Sheung, Sheren Tang and Cecilia Yip, their long suffering 'husbands' Al Wai, Michael Tse and Derek Kok joined producer Lam Chi Wah at the event and TVB Executives including Stephen Chan, Virginia Lok and Tommy Leung were also there to share the celebrations.

Asked whether they will be filming a sequel for this series, Kiki says that they could change it into a sitcom that focuses around the day-to-day events around the three ladies. Sheren smiles that she hopes to send her children away to boarding school for the sequel, then she can turn pretty again and follow her dreams and ambitions. As for Michael, he is also in favour of a sequel, because there are a lot of suitable topics in the press every day.

Talking of whether the hardest thing for a man to bear is finding his wife has been unfaithful, Michael says: "I think the most painful would be to see it with your own eyes rather than to hear about it. It would really hurt." Asked jokingly how he would react if it happened to him, Michael smiles that he is rather lucky and has never met with anything so terrible.
