(1/11/04) In the recent days, Louis had the flu but thankfully there were no fever. Preparing for his new role in the upcoming movie, Louis had been practising judo conscientiously. Due to the fact that Louis did not know anything about judo, he had, as the saying goes, been thrown about like 'sang yue' (snakehead fish).

This coming Chinese New Year, Louis does not need to work and he intends to stay at back in HongKong and spend the New Year with his family instead of going for holiday abroad. He likes the Chinese New Year atmosphere in Hong Kong. As usual his cousins and relatives will be coming over to his house with their children which numbered about 30 ! While the adults will start their gambling sessions. Though he does not like gambling as it is very noisy but
since this is the festive seasons, he will take on the responsibility of taking care of the children. He would probably bring them to see movie or buy some toys. Asked if he is afraid that he may be mistaken as Michael Jackson (Jackson was alleged to have sexually abused a child). Answered Louis : "I don't think there would be any implications - in fact, I probably end up being their 'toy' for them to played with!"

Would he be bringing the children to see Sammi's movie? Louis pointed out that as a professional, one mustsee all kind of movies.

With his popularity at a peak last year, Louis Koo was originally going to start the year of the monkey over in America making money, however a problem with his working visa has meant that his show has been cancelled causing Charmaine Sheh and Anne Heung to lose out as well!

The Chinese New Year has always been a time for artistes to make some money and originally Louis had arranged to make appearances with Charmaine and Anne in many cities of America including Las Vegas and Atlantic City, however it is reported that due to problems with Louis' work permit, the group have not been able to head out on time. Originally the crew were to head out to Atlantic City today, to do a local second day of the new year show. However the organisers have suddenly received a notice from the immigration department saying that there is a problem with the visa, possibly due to Louis' criminal record.

As the government has legislated to allow minor criminals to have a 'clean slate' and Louis has cleared his past record and should have no problem working overseas. However, Louis forgot to renew his 'Good citizen card' and could only provide an expired document for the application. With the recent crackdown in US immigration due to the aftermath of terrorist activities, the security of the country has been put first and with the tightening of controls, even a famous artiste such as Louis is no exception to the rules and the doors have been closed to him.

It is not just Louis who is affected as a result because the work permit was applied for as a group and this has meant that Charmaine and Anne have also been declined. Although Louis is still fighting hard for the permit, the organisers do not want to risk it and postpone, worried that they have to pay a lot of compensation, so the could only pull Louis out and push the application through for Charmaine and Anne. With the first job of the new year going wrong, it would appear that luck is not on Louis' side on this occasion. Charmaine and Anne seem unclear about the delay in the trip and this is all in the hands of TVB. They admit that they are yet to receive notice. Charmaine said on the phone yesterday: "I am waiting for arrangements by the company now, I am not worried. It doesn't matter whether I go or not because I will not think about it too much."

Louis Koo has three days off over the Chinese New Year and will be spending his time at home as a good son with his family. He laughs: "We have a lot of traditions in our house and every year, there are limits on what time you can enter andleave the house during the first three days of the new year. The times change every year and if we go out and get home late, the doors will be locked, you cannot enter and have to sleep in the street. My mum says that this is because at certain times of the day, the house collects fortunes and when the door is opened, they will be lost. As I have been working through the new year in the past, I will be staying in this year and not going out." Louis continues: "When I was young, my mum wouldn't let us wash our hair in the first seven days of the new year. When I as a kid, I did what I was told, but now I can only bear it for two days, because on the third day my head will be so itchy is unbearable!"

Despite reports that Louis was unwell and therefore unable to travel to Vancouver to do a stage appearance, he pays little attention and says: "The best entertainment at the new year is to stay at home, watching TV and playing video games. It is rare that I get time off, so of course I want to spend more time with my family."

Still very much single, Louis is faced with questions from friends and family every year about when he will be getting married. He says: "When I get lucky packets at the new year, no matter if they are big or small, I am still very happy. However when I see my family, they all say that they want this to be the last time they give me one, and ask when I will be getting married. Of course I don't reply, I'll leave it down to fate." Louis gives lucky packets to his staff every year and as well as a five figure lucky packet, he will also be treating them to a New Year Meal.

Louis Koo arrived quite late at the celebration party for his new movie "Fantasia" yesterday, but he was just in time to receive the lucky packets. When asked if he had handed out lucky packets, Louis says that he has always given them out to the crew. During the new year, he was performing out in North America and many people in the audience there gave him lucky packets. One of the stops was Houston, where Louis had originally planned to take time out to go and watch an American Football game, but he could not make it because of the traffic and worrying about whether he would make it to the airport. Nearly not making it to America due to problems with his Visa, Louis says: "Maybe after 9-11, the procedure is very complicated now! (Was there any problem when you entered the country?) Just leaving a fingerprint and having your photo taken."

Having always had good relations with TVB, Louis renewed his contract with them last year and he believes that he will be making a series with them this year. Louis says that one of the reasons for signing again with TVB was because of the freedom that the company has given him over the years. He is not too bothered about the wage because he feels that the care that the company shows him is more important. Although Louis found filming for "A Step in the Past" in the Mainland was hard work, he would like to make another ancient drama because wearing the ancient costumes means he can sleep on the floor at any time.

As for the changes by TVB's Jade Solid Gold's seasonal awards from four to two ceremonies per year, Louis agrees with this change because he feels that it will make the awards more valuable and indicates a greater recognition for the singers. It also suggests another step towards joint awards ceremonies between the four stations.

I used to love him so much, back in the late 90s. I loved his Detectective Investigation Files IV image. I think he changed quite a bit since then. New hairstyle and physique. I still love him though. I can't for his new series, whenever that will be.

Just to let people out there know...
Louis Koo is such an *beep* and I have lost all respect for him...
He recently did a concert here in Houston, Texas and a lot of Houstonians were excited to see him. They even paid thousands of dollars to attend this event. However, the show was late and to add to that, he was a bad performer. He was ignoring his fans and it seemed like he wasnt happy to see his fans. If he was in a bad mood, he could of took it somewhere else because there were so many people there looking forward to see him. I think artists should be responsive and attentive to their fans. ESPECIALLY THEIR FANS. So to the people out there who love Louis Koo, you should reconsider his attitude. I think he has this huge ego and thinks hes too good to pay attention to the little people.

Former rumoured couple Louis Koo and Sonija Kwok took part in a photographic event for a hair salon together with Angelica Lee, Chris Wong and Belinda Hamnett. Sonija stole the show with her short sexy dress.

Although Sonija has her steady partner now, her appearance with Louis still caused a stir and Louis openly asked if the press wanted a picture of them together. After the photo, they shared a few words like old friends and Sonija later said: "We often see each other at the hairstylists. (The rumours were you broke up on bad terms.) Not at all, it was all rumours, so there is no awkwardness when we meet." Chris Wong also presented the salon owners Pius and Ray with an oil painting.

Afterwards, Louis appeared at a massage chair promotion and said: "Sonija has a boyfriend now, so there is nothing to be embarrassed about! Having a photo together is very normal."

Louis Koo sailed around Victoria Harbour in a yacht yesterday as a guest for a Timberlands promotion and he says that this job has benefitted his whole family: "Because I often go hill walking with my mum and dad, these shoes are non-slip so they are suitable for my whole family!"

Talking of the disciplinary action taken against Jerry Lamb for his criticism of TVB, Louis says: "He just wanted to air his views, TVB should be more understanding. He just said a few words and wasn't over the top. He isn't going on strike, Hong Kong still has the freedom of speech. (How do you feel about it?) TVB artistes should have an internal demonstration to vent their frustrations! (But they might face disciplinary action?) Objection and protest are just terms, both parties should have discussions and the artiste union should stand up. (With executive Siu Siu Ming being moved, will this affect your contract renewal at the end of this year?) There will be some effect, but TVB brought me into the industry after all. I will consider it nearer the time."

Louis adds that he will be heading out to Vietnam next week for a stage appearance and he has prepared some medicines for the trip. He says: "I have had an injection to strengthen my immune system, so I am not even afraid of eating chicken as long as it is cooked properly."

Louis Koo has made many movies over the years and longs to win an award and since producing his own film "Naked Ambition", Louis has developed a strong interest in life behind the camera and is planning to join together with many experienced crew members to start a course with the aim of developing potential film crew.

Louis tells:

"I have been in the industry for coming up to ten years and have made a number of films. Many people have asked me if I long to win an award and have my own representative piece. To be honest, I would really like to win an award, but I am in no hurry, because having been in this industry for so many years, passing through so many stages, I know that this has to be a combination of the time and the place. Actually, each time I make a film, I do not think about whether this will win me an award. I just think about doing my best to put on a good show and justify it to myself and the investor.

"Take last year's 'Naked Ambition' for example, I put a lot of effort into it, but during the process, I found that there were a lot of things that I had never experienced or known about behind the camera. If I could learn more about these things behind the scenes, then it would be very useful for my work in front of the camera.

"Also, whilst working on 'Naked', I found that there are a lot of young people who have the potential to make a career in this industry, so I am planning to join with some colleagues who are experienced film makers to hold a training course for these newcomers and help to diversify the creativity in film making. As for those in front of the camera, I have always been spotting raw talent, take Ron Ng for example. He has a lot of potential in many areas and he should do well in this industry."

Louis Koo and Cherie Ying appeared at a promotion for BMW and admired the new BMW X3 off-road vehicles. Louis indicated that he is interested in buying a new car and he is very attracted, but he sighs emphatically: "It makes me think of the phrase - 'To drive makes you realise you have a licence, to crash makes you realise the value of the car'." It turns out that Louis has not driven a car himself for two years, he says: "In the past I had two accidents wher I nearly lost my life. The first time was when I was in high school. I was happily walking out from school when I was knocked over by a van, but I was okay after having an X-ray. The second time I was cutting across the wrong lanes and the car was a total loss. I still have a blood clot in my brain that is pressing on my nerve and it makes my hands shake all the time, but luckily the doctor says it has little effect on my other functions."

Louis admits that this has left him with a fear over driving: "These last two years I have been so busy and I am always falling asleep when I am in the car, so it would be very dangerous if I am driving." It was only when he saw such a beautiful car yesterday that he was slightly moved. He says: "The sponsors should give me a discount of 30-40%! The car is so safe and convenient, it is attracting me to buy one for myself."

Also, Cherie said on stage that she only considers how the car looks and does not worry about features and this shocked the car company bosses. Later, she added rather embarrassed, that she was just following the script and that she has not yet got a licence, but she has driven before in New York and for work in Taiwan. She says: "I think I don't need lessons before I take my driving test."

Johnnie To Kei Fung's new film THROW DOWN (YAU DOH LUNG FU BONG) recently has tighten its production. Two nights ago it shot at a bar set. The cast included Louis Koo Tin Lok, Aaron Kwok Fu Sing, Cherrie Ying Choi Yi, Eddie Cheung Siu Fai, Jordan Chan Siu Chun, Choi Yat Chi, Tony Leung Ka Fai and Lo Hoi Pang.

Since the film started production, Aaron and Louis due to a series of action sequences have bruises and wounds all over. Two nights ago they shot another fight scene. They were repeatedly raised and lowered on wires. The higher they were raised the stronger the downward force was and the easier they got hurt.
Sing sing after the scene sat aside and placed bandages on his left arm and legs. He said, "In the film I play a judo expert who is full of injuries from fighting people." Director To Kei Fung passed by and saw Aaron was covered in bandages. He joked, "Are you have to play that hurt?"
Aaron seriously said, "I am really hurt."
Ah To explained, for the beauty of the shot the actors' hardship could not be spared.
Aaron said, he understood Ah To's serious attitude. No matter how tough the production was or how hurt he got he would never complain. He was injured in his chest and the injury still hurt when he moved. Sometimes it even triggered coughing and sneezing. Finally he had to see a chiropractor. Earlier Louis grabbed his arm in one scene and later he found the arm all bruised.
Later Aaron told Louis about the injury and Louis had no idea. Perhaps the performance was too intense and he himself was covered in bruises. One night after an all night shoot he dragged his exhausted body home. Even though he was covered in sweat he still did not want to shower and fell right asleep on the sofa.
Before THROW DOWN started production, Jordan Chan Siu Chun resigned due to a schedule conflict and Choi Yat Chi took the role. Yet Siu Chun appeared with Yat Chi. Siu Chun explained that because he really wanted to work with Ah To, finally he took a not so heavy role. The cast has worked with each other in the past. When not in places everyone was familiar. When they played brain teasers they even screamed in excitement and Ah To had to yell at them before they calmed down.

Me too. I hope to see him in some TVB series soon. It's been a while since I have seen a series with him in it. The only thing I get to see him in everyday is a phone company commerical here in Canada. When I first saw that commerical I had to watch it a couple more times before I confirmed it was Louis.

(7/26/2004) Louis Koo Tin Lok yesterday attended a 3G phone promotion. Over 100 lined up for a chance to ride with Koo Tin Lok. Koo Tin Lok revealed that he will give his 3G phone to his father.

Earlier Koo Tin Lok's manager Ronnie will resign from the TVB job, but Koo Tin Lok still asks for TVB to hire Ronnie to be his manager. Koo Tin Lok expressed that as a TVB artist he will only follow the company's arrangement and guidance. He also hopes to meet with TVB executives to strengthen communication.
Koo Tin lok ran into a minor earthquake while on vacation in Japan. He said that his Japanese friends were used to it. Although it was not his first earthquake either, it still felt strange to him. As for the first one, he said that it felt a little like being possessed.

Does anyone know if Louis is going to return to TVB to film a series anytime soon. I heard on the news saying that he will, but I never heard of the filming date or what series at all after that. I really want to see him in a series again

louis is so hot! what else can i say? he really grows on you after watching a few of his movies. he's a very good actor too. i really like him in the conman??? with athena and nick. he was awesome in there. so cool and compose and sexy! i would really like to see throw down. what was that movie called that he was an undercover cop? and he played andy lau's man? he was also great in there!

aww man! i really wanna watch throw down too. aaron kwok in there..and i already wanna watch it. but louis koO! dude..gotta watch it. hahaha. i went to china and saw part of that lays commercial hes in! so cute in there. =]

throwdown was a really bad movie, it was so random and such

but i guess if you're watching it for louis...but still, he didn't really do much in that movie but act drunk

It's unfortunate that Louis didn't take part in Healing Hands III. I was so happy when I saw the presentation clip with him in it. He makes such a cute doctor. Too bad... Hope he makes a TVB series soon!
