I don't really like Tavia in this series, shes pretty and all that but she comparing to Li Quan or w/e her name is, i think Yook Jhee is way better, they're cuter together, and it seems like they have a better time with each other than Cao Zhong with Sao Ling.

This is by far Raymond Lam's best performance I've ever seen, and one of my favorite characters that he protrays. An Li Qian is awesome. Just like a lot of the majority, at first, I didn't like her much, but mostly because I'd always had a bias toward dubbed characters who I'd never seen before, but she carried her role so well that she soon began to grow on me. I became an avid fan of the Kau Jong and Yuk Chi couple, and even though I'd already spoiled the series by reading those easy to find synopses of the show, I still desparately wanted them to get together.

*For those of you who haven't seen the whole thing yet, there are spoilers in the next paragraph.*

I can honestly say that I fell in love with Kau Jong and I fell in love with him being paired with Yuk Chi. It was such a great romance that happened between them. I cried at the end during their good-bye scene. When he was disappearing and he tried to kiss her...

At least I know one thing, that at the end, Kau Jong finally knew who he was truly in love with. He'd chosen Yuk Chi and even though it didn't make up for the sad ending, I'm happy about that. Now if only the scriptwriters didn't have to go and kill him, then the show would be perfect.

Does anyone know what happened as according to the actual book, though? My dad says that in the end neither of the two twin dragons die. He says he'd been reading some of the story from the internet, but I just want some confirmation.

anicheung , in the book. Both Tsui Ling & Kau Jong did not die in original novel. Kau Jong supposedly gave up his ambition to be King for Yuk Chi. He will marry both Yuk Chi and another girl (her character was cut off in the serie).

leila and ron were a good couple in twins of brother but the best couple is raymond and li qian they are just so cute!

I loved Kau Chong and Yuk Chi being a couple more. I agree with you on the fact that
they were the reasons I kept on watching the show too.. cos I wanted to see where their
relationships going. I don't think Sau Ling matches him at all, she seems too serious and
too mature for him, their personalities just don't match at all. Yuk Chi and Kau Chong
are more like the same type.. they're both more lively and playful and they like to joke
around more, and he's more of himself and more natural around her.. so I was glad that
he chosed her in the end even though he died, and that she knew he chosed her..
I thought they were perfect for each other. So I thought the ending was good either way.

I think KC and SN LOOK better as a couple than KC and YC...but in the story he should be with YC..

I just finished watching this series. Not bad. I like Kau Chung with Yuk Chi.

I like all the pairings in TOB except for Kau Chong and Yuk Zhi (I like Li Qian but not Yuk Zhi though in the beginning I did like her, but later I didn't like her anymore).

i wished they had put tavia with raymond rather than that china girl. she's not cute enough for him. also, drives me nuts to watch DUBBed over voices. wished tvb wouldn't do that again.

I don't know about everyone, but I was quite upset with the fact that Nancy Wu and Ron Ng did not end up together. Of all the things that Nancy went through for Ron and they didn't end up togethet made me pretty made. But, I love the pairing with Li Quan and Raymond Lam. I thought they had a sweet chemistry together while Ray and Tav had a more serious relationship.

first I want to clearly state I Love KJ and YC. They'r so cute and compatible - they’re meant together. KC always is himself in front of YC. He doesn't have to try hard to be better than himself or anything. In front of everyone even SN, he can be a brave General; but in front of YC he is KC playful. He knows YC so well that he can predict how she will act in a certain way; that how he tricked YC to go away so he can woo the other girl(forgot her name) without hurting YC.

I also love Tavia as SN - the princess. She played a beautiful and elegant princess so well. In a way, SN will always better than KC, even can be better in personality and characteristic than any man in the series. She is super smart, and has a strong mind. She did everything because that was the best thing to do at that time in that situation. KC and YC are different. They did every for love. They don't care much if that is the best thing to do or not. I think SN needs someone is more mature than KC. KC was more like admire SN because of her beauty and class. I mean who doesn’t; she is a princess, a beautiful one. The only thing annoys me about this character was TVB had SN lied so YC can be with KC. No one can be that perfect. They should have let SN misunderstood KC and YC, led to marry the rich guy since she thinks only him love her faithfully. SN realized KC really loves her when she received the city he won for her but its too late!! This is more believable.

People from KC - YC "side" sometimes say SN shouldn't come to KC after her husband died. But it's hard for her to hide since she always like KC because in him she find the freedom that she can't have. If I’m not wrong SN did try to let it go, but KC was the one who couldn't choose. At this point maybe someone will say how KC can do this to YC. Well, SN and KJ didn't end in good term. There's still a lingering question. KJ misunderstood SN, now everything clear up, nothing stand between them. He can't hate her + he used to love her very much. You do the math. We can't blame KJ to be unclear in this situation. Good that he realized who is the one for him. His choice doesn’t mean YC is better than SN, but YC is better for him than SN.

Here comes our cutie YC. I saw people saying YC "follows KC around." I don't think so. I watched the series more than 3x. The 1st time YC left with KC because she angry with SN's decision. Since she was the one gave KC hope with SN (she was the one who told KJ that SN would choose him, made him set his hope so high...) I think she felt responsible too. She did leave KJ after she misunderstood that he proposed to her. She came back because KC got knocked out by the evil kungfu, then Zhi Ling asked her to look after KJ while Zhi Ling goes after fei huan, then KJ got poisoned and SN broke his heart... It seems like she always there when KC needed her the most.

I mean I love YC, Li Quan was so good at pulling the cute side of YC; however, I think Li Quan missed a bit of the strong side of YC. To be a girl who doesn't want to stay at home but rather wandering in guy clothes, should she be a stronger girl than Li Quan potraited? I don't mean Li Quan's acting is not good. Indeed, her acting skill and crying skilll are so good. It's just her build is not a perfect fit for YC character but she managed to make a lovely YC. In my mind, Michelle Yip would be perfectt for YC. Lol, would it be a perfect series if we have Tavia, Raymond, and Michelle all in a triangle love like this one? Michelle can be cute and strong at the same time. She can cry well too. Gosh, why my two fav. series (TOB and LWVB) both have the main characters die sadly at the end. Tho I hate sad ending but this kind of ending always make me like the series more and remember it longer.

I don't want to say anything about Leila and Ron.... or I should say I don't remember anything about them to say anything.After I watched the series the first time, I ripped the DVDs and deleted all Ron and Leila parts, so I can watch SN-KC-YC over and over without fast-forward, haha. The only scene I love is Zhi Ling and Wan wan first night together in the same room to hide from thunderstorm. Haha, so funny and sweeet, Zhi Ling reads poem when he's h.... haha. Well, that's it, everything else was deleted from my TOB version haha...


well, I talked too much already. Glad that after many years there's still love for TOB and KC-YC. I think Tavia, Ray, and Li Quan were really really good in this series. I love them all. Ray's acting skill in this series was one of his best. For Ray to get best improved actor with this role while Kevin got Best Actor with UTCOL is ..... Oopse I went off the topic.

I have no complaint about the ending. Without KC die how we can have a one of the most beautiful scene of all time when YC was kind of see KC one last time.

I forgot their names(b/c I saw a translated version) but I liked Raymond and Tavia better. Fist I never seen them before and thought they were comaptible in a way, and they have a thing for each other. But then Li Quan and Raymond sould be together cause of their roles, and didn't really find them cute or compatible though.

Ron should've been with Nancy!!!!!!! I wanted them to be together so bad!! But then arggh....He had to choose Leila. I love her but yea....And at the end, was that Ron's kid? Or just Nancy's discipline? The little girl that follows her...But it's sad how Kau Chong died...

ohhh i remember i absolutely LOVED TOB!

i pick Yuk Chi and Kau Jong. they were very cute with eachother. even though i didn't like the idea of them pairing up at first, Raymond and Li Qian had great chemistry. also, it seemed like they were a much better pair than Kau Jong and Tavia's character... they were kinda boring.

Eh The best couple were in the series, it made it very good the way they did everything together, how ever i disliked Li QIan.... the way she looks is way young in my view.. DISKLIKE HER!

I realy like the Li Qian & Raymond Pairing. The chemestry was really good. I love how it was from bickering to love. So cute. They were so playful, and were themselves instead of acting all heroic and polite. It was sad that he died, but it left a great impression to us all, and gave us the feeling that their love was forever and everlasting.

I thought Ron & Leila were so plain though. The couple is so innocent, and there wasn't a big story there. I would have prefered Ron & Nancy but...

I heard there is going to be a TOB2, where Raymond is revived by a jewel. I actually think they should not do a TOB2 is Li Qian is going to be there. I'll be really sad if Raymond ends up with someone else if they DO have a TOB2. I would like for Li Qian to be there, and Raymond and her to live happily in the end ^^

Ron && Leila are a cute couple, really suited each other! But Li Quan really annoyed me so I didn't like the Li Quan && Raymond couple! However Tavia && Raymond were the cutest couple in the series!

I choose Kau Chung and Yuk chi because kau chung love the most is yuk chi.

For zhi ling i choose si fei huen.

Ron and Leila were quite good in this series.
Their chemistry was really quite good.

On the other hand, Li Qian and Raymond were very sweet.
From disliking each other in the beginning to loving each other in the end.
I especially liked the scene where Raymond went beserk or smth and Li Qian hugged onto him so that he would not injure himself.

Definitely Raymond & LiQian for me. They're so sweet & adorable together! (: Although Tavia looks nice with Raymond as well, Li Qian's scenes with Ray were so much nicer. (:

Ron & Leila look very nice, but because of their goody-goody personality, their screentime together was quite boring...Nancy & Ron were quite cute too...(:

I honestly thought Raymond & Li Qian were one of the most adorable on-screen couples ever. Their bickering scenes were sometimes funny and cute. I rewatched one of their scenes, where Yuk Chi made the lobster or whatever for Kau Chong. That was definitely an amazing scene for all fans of KC/YC.

lol i didn't think one exsisted~ throughout the entire series i thought that in the beginning that YUK CHI was bloody annoying, but then i grew to love her so much! she has such a beautiful smile and she keeps KAU CHONG so grounded!
