Cecilia Cheung Pak Chi has just arrived in Cannes. Pak Chi said that THE PROMISE (MO GIK)'s beautiful queen has complex thoughts and hardships but remains strong, which resembles her own personality. She also said that in the film she has a physical relationship with Hiroyuki Sanada, many soulful exchanges with Jang Dong-Gun, and a grudge within romance with Nicholas Tse Ting Fung. Cecilia Cheung Pak Chi's birthday was on May 24. His management company waited until two days ago when Pak Chi's new record was released to celebrate together. Pak Chi's dog BB had respiratory infection, which worried Pak Chi. Her manager Miss Lee presented a cute chihuahua to Pak Chi to cheer her up. The puppy was very smart and knew to kiss Pak Chi. Her boss lady also presented her with a big laisee.

Cecilia Cheung flexes acting chops in Chen Kaige's period flick

BEIJING, May 24 -- Hong Kong superstar Cecilia Cheung politely declined a glass of rose wine and ignored the plate of gnocchi, asparagus and mushrooms placed in front of her.

Perhaps the svelte 25-year-old felt that it would be "unglam" to tuck into the French cuisine while speaking to Today about her latest movie, Chen Kaige's The Promise.

In the epic period fantasy, Cheung plays a beautiful princess who is the object of affection and political intrigue for a duke, a general, and a slave - played by, respectively, Cecilia's ex-boyfriend Nicholas Tse, Hiroyuki Sanada and South Korean heartthrob Jang Dong-Gun.

In Cannes to promote the film, to be completed in September, Cheung talked about how much she enjoyed working with the leading men of the film and her admiration for the man in charge: Straight-talking, no-nonsense Chinese director Chen.

"He's been in the United States so long, he seems more like a (Westerner)," said Cheung. "He's really funny and open, not like Hong Kong directors. If he doesn't like anything, he'll just spit it out.

"I don't have to guess what he's thinking."

One incident during the shoot opened Cheung's eyes to the level of professionalism Chen demanded from his cast and crew.

On a day when only her feet, running, had to be filmed, Cheung had to wake up at 5am, put on full makeup and go out in the freezing cold to "act".

"There was no chance to use doubles," she recalled. "I couldn't rest for a minute."

During the gruelling six-month shoot in China, Cheung worked so hard that she fell ill. A kidney infection knocked her out for 10 days and required hospitalisation, but Cheung sounded rueful about having to delay the shoot.

She was less forthcoming, though, on talking about having to work with Tse. She said tersely that they were still friends and also professionals, and that she didn't want the media to focus their attention on them.

It would be "a waste of the others' efforts" if the press preferred to write "that same old story" instead of concentrating on the result of the production team's hard work, she said.

Asked which of the three leading men she felt the most sparks with, Cheung girlishly admitted that she "feared" looking into the rugged 33-year-old Jang's eyes - in case she fell for him. Indeed, the South Korean actor seemed to be considerate to Cheung's needs at this press event, keeping his sunglasses on indoors.

"He's killing all the women," she joked. "I won't look into his eyes so closely, otherwise I can't help myself. He has a wild face, but he's also really gentle in his heart."

In order to fully immerse herself into the role of a stunning princess, as opposed to a coquettish schoolgirl, Cheung leaned on the advice and support of director Chen.

"I had to feel like a princess. He made me feel comfortable and relaxed," she said. "He gave me confidence. He told me I was the most beautiful woman in the world."

Being in Cannes, where "nobody knows me", also helped put Cheung at ease. Accompanied by her mum, the actress said she was looking forward to going shopping incognito, free from the customary hounding she gets from tabloids in Hong Kong.

Back home, of course, she is a media darling - but she doesn't yet consider herself a bona fide star.

Asked whom she really considered big stars, she named Julia Roberts, Brigitte Lin Ching-hsia and Maggie Cheung.

"They really have the face, the beauty, the character and attitude," said the award-winning actress and singer.

So, does Cecilia have that complete package? This reporter gave her the once-over.

1) Her home is like a pet store. She has a total of 18 dogs, 5 turtles, 4 lizards and 1 parrot at home. Her golden retriver is also pregnant and she's ordered 2 more chihuahuas that should be arriving at her home at any time. Despite having so many dogs already, she's still planning to keep the puppies that will be coming along because she can't bear to part with her dogs since she loves them all so much.

2)She has 4 maids at home but only 1 of them works around the house. The other three are hired to take care of her pets, that's why she says that she won't move anytime soon because her current house has a backyard and a park where the dogs can go play.

3)She has a total of about 13 holes on her body. 2 on her stomach, one on her pinky, and about 11 (even she's lost count, haha) between her two ears. However, she urges youngsters to not go pierce their pinkies because alot of nerves are located there and if anything go wrong, the complete side of one's face (where the hole is on) can scrunch up due to the damage of the nerves. 4)The most secretive tattoo on her body is located at the bottom of her feet. This is because she's already ran out of space on the rest of her body so she thought, 'why not do it on my feet'?

It's a red star. She had plans to get a total of 7 stars but after experimenting with the first one, she realized that it wasn't possible because the skin on the bottom of one's feet is not suitable for tattoos. The color comes off really easily.

5)She experiences NO PAIN when she gets her tattoos. In fact, everytime she goes in for one, she ends up falling asleep the minute she lays on the chair and when she wakes up, it's done already.

During a concert recently, Cecilia was interviewed and she mentioned her

with hosts XiaoS and DaS.

Cecilia mentioned that the reporters in Taiwan told her that she was living in the same hotel as Nic, who was also in Taiwan promoting his new series. When Cecilia heard this, she uickly left to aviod any rumors.

Leo Ku: Cecilia is not pretending to be sick

Hong Kong’s Red Cross yesterday had a premier for its short flim clip. The main stars in the film clip are Leo Ku and Karena Lam. Karena at the premier also donated blood to the Red Cross. Leo on the other hand has been taking antibiotics and other medications so did not donate any blood. Fans of Leo came to this event to donate blood making this event are very positive one.

Leo felt bad about not being able to donate blood but laughed saying that his fans have helped him donate his bit. Leo has been working with Cecilia Cheung on the new movie, 《野蠻必殺技》. She is one favourite artist for reporters. Sometimes, I pity her life where she can have no privacy at all! None as in zero. Nil. Whatever she does, is of interest of the reporters. Her acting isn't bad but I don't she should have received the best actress award so soon. She has many good songs, but I think she doesn't have the singing talent required to sing them. I think she should consider just movies.

Cecilia finally admits to her relationship with boyfriend

After turning 25, Cecilia finally admits to the media about her relationship with Jeroen. Cecilia said that they met through a friend when her friend set her up on a blind date. When they first met, right away Cecilia asked if he was single, and Jeroen replied no, so Cecilia left. The Lion Roars was pretty good but i like her better in serious movies. the funny movies are usually a bit weird and not very good acting...
