Cecilia Zhang to get stunning salary to star as legendary singer



Hong Kong A-list film actress Cecilia Zhang's premiere TV drama "Zhou Xuan" has drawn wide attention, though shooting is yet to begin on March 28th.

Zhang has visited Shanghai last weekend to try on her makeup and costumes for the drama.

Reports say Zhang will be paid a stunning 200 thousand yuan for each episode with 40 episodes scheduled for the entire run of the series.



Apparently, her salary makes up a whopping one quarter of the total investment in the project.

With a full schedule, Zhang is expected to be present for 43 days of shooting and has signed an agreement limiting her to a maximum of 13 hours of work each day.



The drama will focus on late Shanghai singer Zhou Xuan's golden years when she was between 16 and 28 years of age.

Many Chinese celebrities from the 1930s and 40s will also be portrayed in the drama, such as novelist Eileen Cheung, musician Nie'er and playwright Tian Han, depicting the renowned singer's diverse social circle.

I agree. She's just another representative of the hk thinness that is "in." TOO SKINNY! There is nothing special about her; the only thing that stands out is her nose, which can be said to be too prominent for an Asian. Her voice is so raspy that it's annoying ---- she has a smoker's voice. Let's not forget that she's a smoker herself. And her acting .... omg, I watched "The Promise" --- it was a PAIN for me to watch it. The sceneries were so beautiful but the actors acting....sucked. o_O I almost couldn't recongized her, with that excessive thinness AND the overdramatic makeup --- she looked like a vampire. o_O So much white on her face...also, her portrayal was too much like a slut --- when she's suppose to capture our sympathy. Bleh!

cecilia is an amazing actress and she is one of the most gorgeous chinese actresses out there. i admit that she was really scary skinny and that made her look quite unattractive for a time, but now she's gained some weight and she's as beautiful as ever. those who say that she can't act are entitled to their opinions but i think the complete opposite. she's got a great screen presence and that's why she's been nominated for best actress and won so many times. as for her voice, it is hoarse, but one of my favorite songs is the themesong she sung for fly me to polaris (which happens to be my favorite movie). and congrats to nic and ceci for their reconciliation.

I mean come on, yes reporters are the main culprit for stirring up problems and upsetting the people in the entertainment industry, but a major sum of the pain comes from people believing these ridiculous headlines. You know, reporters can write anything but just as long as people have disregard for the tabloids, they lose. But that's the problem, people do believe in them and having already planted these images into their heads, these celebs can say anything to defend themselves, but it'll fail to redeem the image that they once held in the other's mind.

It is especially hard for a celebrity couple to last because they are in the eyes of the media and the time apart due to work doesn't make it easier. These reporters and paparazzi know that people are really interested in what's going on in the lives of these stars; so the more they like, the more they'll buy... thus, they've succeeded in their job. And again, people really 'eat in' to the stars personal lives; you know, who they've been dating or have been dating, so when you have these two mega stars come together, this is like hitting a gold mine for the reporters/paparazzi.

And during the time Nic had gotten into his car accident debacle, Cecilia was also tied into him at the time because they were dating, and she apparently was with him when the police came to speak to him. Just there, they have another big headline to write about. So the fact that they were rumoured to getting back together to now that they've confirmed it, it was like hitting the jackpot again for headlines and tabloids; and this majorly sucks for Nic and Ceci because they'll never get a break unless people start to lose interest or what the reporters are writing about no longer have the same affect as it once had.
