Joey Yung was born on June 16, 1980 and is a popular Hong Kong singer and actress. She is known as the "Big Sister" of her record company, Emperor Entertainment Group (EEG). Following a rocky start into the entertainment business, Joey skyrocketed to success through her hard work and dedication. She went on to win the highly-coveted "Most Popular Female Singer Award" at the year-end Jade Solid Gold Awards in 2003 with the help of her hit, "My Pride"; she has since won that very award every year. hi i was wondering if anyone can help me with this..

i heard this one song sung by Joey..in it, she sings with a little girl. It is a Cantonese song by the title of "Lok Joy Fan Gan Dik Siu Teen See" ..indirectly, it means "Little Angel on Earth"..I tried to look for its lyrics but I couldn't find it. Does anyone know if this song is originally hers or someone elses? If it's someone else, do you know who sang it?
shadowhunter604

Other guests were include Eric Kwok(damn him always voting for joey to be kicked lol), Twins, Edison Chan, Eason, Josie, Jerald...duno if i missed a few.

News:

(7/26/2004) Joey Yung Cho Yi received the Hong Kong Best Female Singer award. "I have wanted this award for awhile. I am very happy about my first MTV female singer award and accepting an award with my idol Faye Wong." Joey's first pictorial collection has been sold out but Joey expressed that it may be her first and last one. "Many fans complained that I showed too much in the book. Because they feel that I belong to them, they feel hurt to see me like that."

When asked whether her boyfriend will buy the "A (adult) Yung Cho Yi" pictorial collection, Joey said, "If he gets the A version then poor me! But I have three A's, aaa! People always say that I talk about him but he doesn't appear. I might as well not talk about him then since I won't let him be exposed."

Joey Yung was the guest presenter for TVB's music programme "Jade Solid Gold" on Wednesday and although she had good friend Denise Ho keeping an eye on her, she was still quite nervous and was tongue tied at times, so when she appeared on the stage, she announced to the audience: "This is my first time hosting a show, so I am a little lispy, I hope you will forgive me."

Actually, Joey was rather nervous and when she introduced Kenny Kwan's new song, she misread the title. Later, she admitted her mistake, saying: "That was so bad of me to get my friend's song name wrong. (You did have a little lisp.) Yes, I am famous for that, but I can accept my performance. It was more relaxed during rehearsals, so I had my fun then so when the live show started, I was very nervous. Luckily Denise was on hand, but it was great fun and I will improve after doing it a few more times, so I hope to try it again."

As for the new live format of JSG, Joey feels it is very exciting: "I like excitement, this is a change for the better, but if you are ill, then it is better to take the time off because you have to be on form to appear." Joey also got the chance to jam on stage with Taiwanese singer Jasmine Leung and it turns out that they both share the same birthday on 16th June, so it seems they are destined to test each other out in song.

I love Joey because she has such a cute and lively personality. She's really adorable at concerts too and treats her fans good. She's starting to reveal more skin than usual, but everyone changes. I just hope she doesn't turn "trashy" which she probably won't. She's so pretty and her acting really improved in Not Just a Pretty Face. I love her singing too!!! Just got her Nin9 2 5ive album... it's great!! I love the song "Road to Dreams" great song!

Next Tuesday's celebratory extravaganza for the Chinese athletes "The Pride of the Chinese" will be held at the Hong Kong Stadium and TVB Jade have secured the exclusive live presentation from 7 to 9 pm, when "Jade Starbiz" and "Virtues of Harmony" will be cancelled for one evening. This has led to criticisms from ATV executive Kwan Wai in a paper that as this is about Chinese pride, then TVB should not have the exclusive rights to air the show, but TVB General Manager Chan Chi Wan explained yesterday that TVB were responsible for the production of the show and the organisers were the Public Affairs Office. Other electronic media are allowed to edit up to three minutes of footage to air on their news programmes.

The hosts for the show have been confirmed as Nat Chan, Winnie Yeung, Derek Lee, Kate Tsui, Chung Chi Kwong and Lily Lei, among which are many fluent English and Mandarin speakers. As for performers, these will include Alan Tam, Hacken Lee, Kelly Chen, Miriam Yeung, Alex Fong and Joey Yung. Athletes taking part will include Liu Xiang, Luo Xuejuan, Wang Yifu and Zhang Guozheng. The Chinese Women's volleyball team are confirmed to be singing a rendition of "The Sunshine after the Rain".

[Oriental Daily, The Sun & Ta Kung Pao 08/09/04]

Fifty Chinese gold-medallists gathered at the Hong Kong stadium last night for "The Pride of the Chinese - Olympic Stars Extravaganza" performance. From noon onwards, the performers such as Miriam Yeung and Joey Yung each took their turn on the stage for rehearsals and the fifty athletes arrived at around 4pm to prepare for the evening's performance. However, their tight schedules since arriving in Hong Kong had left them rather tired and many of the sporting stars could be seen catching a quick nap on the bus. Among the stars from sport and music taking part were 'diving prince' Tian Liang, 'diving princess' Guo Jing Jing, 'king of hurdles' Liu Xiang, Alan Tam, Hacken Lee, Kelly Chen, Andy Hui, Joey Yung, Miriam Yeung, Leo Ku and Alex Fong.

During rehearsals, singers and athletes had to give their all and among them "King of Hurdles" Liu Xiang worked well with Leo Ku in their duet, with Liu giving a very professional performance. In comparison, the table tennis representatives and opening act: Ma Lin and Chen Qi from China and Lee Ching and Ko Lai Chak from Hong Kong seemed rather nervous and sung out of tune, showing that even the bravest sporting hero can suffer from stage fright! Whilst singing the song 'Girl with Wings' with Joey Yung, Luo Xuejuan found it difficult to get into key, but Joey helped her out and the final result was not bad at all. Afterwards, Joey said: "I feel she has worked very hard as she was desperately trying to learn all the words in the afternoon. I was holding her hand whilst we were singing and I felt like a big sister to her."

Among all the stars, Liu Xiang was the most popular person of the show and the applause from the audience raised the roof as he duetted with Leo Ku, who was wearing a Chinese team kit, singing "Hao Xiang Hao Xiang" and then going on to comment on the friendliness of Hong Kong girls. Leo changed a line of the lyrics to say "Liu Xiang's legs are really long", making Liu turn to check on the length of his legs and causing some screams from the audience.

Of the singers taking part, Hacken Lee and Miriam Yeung were both suffering from illness and Miriam was steadily losing her voice during rehearsals and she was first to 'surrender' to the press later, saying: "My voice was croaky earlier during the awards ceremony in Taiwan and I had to take tablets to regain my voice then and I had used all my backup. I will have an injection and take medication for tonight's performance, but I have prepared a tape, so if I really can't do it then I will have to mime." Eventually at the performance, Miriam did have to use the tape and mime to the music for her performance because she felt that this was better than singing out of tune. She indicates that she chose a red outfit for the show because red represents China. When asked if she would be having her photo taken with the athletes, she says: "I tried to borrow a 7 megapixel digital camera from a friend, but she was worried about getting it wet in the rain and would not lend it to me!"

An amusing incident occurred as Kelly and Andy were waiting backstage when tennis sensations Li Ting and Sun Tiantian arrived to have their photos taken with them. After the girls had left, Kelly and Andy noticed that one of them had left behind a Chinese Olympic Team jacket and as the two started playfully fighting over who would claim the jacket, Sun arrived and said: "Sorry I can't give you the jacket, I have to take it with me!" leaving them rather red faced. Also, as Kelly stepped onto the stage, she spoke into the microphone, saying: "Has everyone had dinner yet?" and causing a few laughs.

This year's Miss Hong Kong winner Kate Tsui's performance as an MC was disastrous because as well as fluffing her lines during many of the interview sections, the worst mistake was during the interview for diving stars Lao Lishi and Li Ting, she pushed aside Wu Minxia. Luckily she realised her mistake immediately and apologised to her, but this left her rather embarrassed. Veteran MC Nat Chan also slipped up as he misread Ko Lai Chak's name as Ko Lai Ching and then totally forgot to introduce Lee Ching.

Although the show went on for an extra fifteen minutes longer than planned, TVB dare not cut the show for fear of inciting the wrath of the audience. Instead, "Twin of Brothers" was aired later than planned. Producer Chan Chi Kau indicated that miming was acceptable for the show because the size of the venue meant that it was safer than risking sound problems." In order to provide even more coverage of the athletes, TVB Jade will be airing the demonstration table tennis, badminton and diving programmes this afternoon and TVB Pearl will be showing volleyball and some highlights from the matches.

Joey Yung Cho Yi recently has worked on a new skincare product ad campaign. After over ten campaigns Joey tried something new with heavy make up on one side of her side and light on the other. Joey and the crew were very satisfied with the result. She even called herself, "Pretty Chung Mo Yim" and even sang Cantonese Opera on the spot.
During the shoot sand suddenly got into Joey's eyes, which teared up continously. Joey insisted on continuing the shoot. Her assistant kept applying eyedrops for Joey. Finally in some of the photos Joey looks like a little princess in tears.

Joey Yung Cho Yi two nights ago worked on the television commercial for a trimming product. "The photographer told me to pose sideway, but midway through the shoot he told me to pose with the front because my waist is too thin and can look very fake!" Behind the camera she was nauseous because Joey went to a doctor for her throat ailment and the drug taste has not passed.

Joey Yung Cho Yi yesterday worked on her October cold and flu medicine commercial. When asked about her boyfriend, Joey said, "We are broken up. It was a mutual decision, a peaceful break up. In love shiftness is better, don't hinder other people's fortune. After two years we both have had happy moments. Long distance relationship is hard to maintain. I am too busy so for now work comes first."

Joey Yung Cho Yi yesterday attended a radio event. Recently she has been very busy. "Earlier I worked over night on a commercial and music video shoot and I got all dizzy. Later I went to work in China and had time to sleep. However the hotel was hot and noisy. I could only cover my ears." As for rumors that her grandmother has become involved in a financial dispute, Joey said, "I feel Grandma has it bad. Because of me her life has been affected. I hope the outside world don't give her too much presusre. Grandma isn't someone who doesn't pay back a loan. She talks loud, likes to be righteous and is loyal. She is just speaking on behalf of someone."

Joey Yung Cho Yi earlier worked with her idol Lau Ching Wan on the film THE ATTRACTIVE ONE (SUN GIU YUK GWAI). In it she plays a student with a crush on Ching Wan's Ga Chung Chiu. They even have a scene in the water, but during the production, Joey was ill. Director Matt Chow Hoi Kwong originally wanted to postpone the shoot but Joey insisted on performing so the production progress was not hindered.

Because during the shoot the weather was cold, Joey prepared heating pads and a down jacket for once she left the water. Actually the director has secretly found a warm swimming pool for her. Because the director knew that when Joey in cold water would always want to go to the bathroom, he got her a warm pool to help her with the mental obstacle.
Joey did not realize the water was warm until she got in it. She was overjoyed and even took the chance to swim. She joked that she was doing her polar bear swim.

Joey Yung represented Hong Kong, Thursday September 30, 2004 Hong Kong

Joey Yung Cho Yi and Anthony Wong Yiu Ming represented Hong Kong on China Central Television's Mid Autumn Festival program. Joey felt very honored and described her excitement with her and Wong Yiu Ming's names. Joey performed MY PRIDE (NGOR DIK GIU NGO) Mandarin version WING SPREADING GIRL (FAI JEUK CHI PONG DIK NUI HAI). Wong Yiu Ming performed SONG OF TOMORROW (MING YUT JI SONG), but because some of the lyrics were too sad he changed them to more optimistic lyrics.

Joey Yung Lip Synced because of vocal cord problem, Sunday October 3, 2004 Hong Kong

Joey Yung Cho Yi, Kelly Chan Wai Lam, Miriam Yeung Chin Wa, Edmond Leung Hong Man, Dior Cheng Yi Kin, Aaron Kwok Fu Sing and others performed at the Metro Radio anniversary celebration two nights ago. Joey due to her vocal cord problem was the only performer who lip synced. Joey said that with the exception of the National Day show she will try to lip sync as much as she can to save her voice. "I have no reason to sing until I am hoarse. Listeners want to listen to good songs and not off key and screeching singing!"
