I am no great cook but soup, can be quite a glamorous food in that it can be very expensive, very time consuming to cook, requires a great mix of ingredience (incl love and care) to give it just the right taste. Chinese soups like shark's fin soup, buddha-jump-over-the-wall and some herbal soups are surely among the famous and expensive ones.
Undoubtedly, soups can be both expensive and exotic in content, but imo no matter how dressed-up they maybe, they still pale in the glamor dept. compared to other food courses. Imo, pastries/cakes in the dessert course got to be the most glamorous not to mention the most romantic food. Btw, have never heard of buddha-jump-over-the-wall soup (as opposed to 'dog-forced to jump-over-the-wall' proverb). lol! What's in the soup?

However, I agree that it can be the most fulfulling soul food. Imagine a person who is very exhausted, very cold and feeling all the superlatives and then coupled with a host who is most sincere and caring in his offer, soup can be a great food gastronomically and for the soul. As a matter of fact, any steaming hot liquid feels luxurious at such times.
Absolutely. Reminds me of an old Campbell soup tv ad: Outside the world is white with snow, looking brrr..y cold. A lone, small rotund snowman trudges slowly towards a house, opens the door and walks into a cozy kitchen. A steaming bowl of tomato soup awaits him on a counter top. And as he drinks the soup, the snow on him slowly melts away to reveal a rosy cheeks little boy, cute as a button, all bundled up in his winter clothes looking extremely surfeit and contented.

He is single and if he has serious interest in Tavia or any female colleague who available, that is normal. Naturally, speculations will be aplenty but should not be a hindrance.
Imo, it is prudent not to get into an office romance esp. in the entertainment industry.

Deviating slightly from the topic of soup, after hearing Steven's admission of hoping to set up a family, I am really hoping that he will find a worthy partner soon. If soup can be the initiation of a lifelong relationship, why not?
Funny you should mention that, I recall (maybe you do too) of an article whereby Steven jests that in the olden days, mothers trained daughters to cook well so that they could catch a husband, but nowadays with women so competent and successful maybe the men (in HK) should learn how to cook well to reel in these women? lol!
