Thanks, Tamaya. Yes, absolutely hilarious. Poor Steven, being made the laughing stock here. Neverthelss, I think the lack of a strong denial and objection somewhat shows some truth in the allegation that his relationship with Ada Choi was not purely friendship only at that time.

Thanks, Tamaya. Yes, absolutely hilarious. Poor Steven, being made the laughing stock. Nevertheless, I think the lack of a strong denial and objection by Steven on his special relationship with Ada somewhat shows there was likely some truth in the allegation that their relationship was really beyond normal friendship at that time.

Tried to post this twice but failed, ok, last trial.

Regarding Steven's JSG video shot, it's truly hilarious. Thanks, Tamaya. Poor Steven, being made the laughing stock. Nevertheless, I think the lack of a strong denial and objection by Steven on the allegation of his special relationship with Ada somewhat shows that there could be some truth in it.

Thanks, Tamaya for the few interesting posts. The JSG 1999 video was truly hilarious. LOL, poor Steven, being made the laughing stock! I wonder if those female artistes who were interviewed really meant what they said abt Steven or they were just joking for the sake of this JSG show. Steven seemed surprised to see those video clips of confession but the last part (was that Raymond?) was the funniest.

Nevertheless, on his special relationship with Ada Choi, he did not seem to deny or object strongly, somewhat shows that there might be some truth in it.

Oh, I'm certain they were just pulling Steven's leg, having fun at his expense. Jessica's expression was a total hoot. Lawrence could hardly contain his mirth at seeing Steven's discomfort and thoroughly enjoyed needling him with his snide remarks. You can tell from Steven's surprise expressions that the prank pulled on him was totally unexpected. Steven was relatively new to the entertainment scene then so he was rather rattled by the public 'invasion' of his privacy, and 'questioning' of his love life. For the 1st time on TV, I see him not only tongue tight but slow with his responses. It was Raymond Cho - Said he especially likes Steven now that he has gotten a new car. Yes, it was the funniest part. I was surprised by how very mild Steven's voice was when he said, "Come out la, brother." In my own experience, people tend to tease other people they are more at ease with.

Undoubtedly, Steven did like Ada a lot, who knows if he would have acted on that attraction if not for the fact that at the time his mother's failing health took up all his energy, leaving no room for a personal relationship. Guess, he must have been over profuse in his praises for Ada in other people's company.

I realised too that Steven was really lost for words in this video show. Yeah, should be due to his lack of experience in handling such situations since he was relatively new then. Still laughing inside when I recall the video (so bad...) but it grows the soft spot I have for him. Well, if he is put under a similar situation today, I am sure he can handle it much more vocally and adequately.

News flash:
The news snippet on Yoyo's quote that Temptation has wrapped up production is inaccurately reported. Apparently only the filming of HK scenes is done, the troupe will now film on location in Macao between Oct 6th thru Nov.

As such, the one week filming at Hengdian has been canceled because of work. (not sure if the filming is scraped permanently or postponed temporarily due to work.) Big disappointment for those who plan to visit him there.

loose translation.

Although the series, Pu Songling starring Steven Ma and Linda Chung, has yet to be scheduled for viewing, Steven Ma has already pre-recorded its theme song, indicative of its importance to TVB.

This song is painstakingly put together by Zhan Jie (Catherine Tsang) and producer Leong Choi Yuen; from its composing (邓智伟) to its lyrics (张美贤) they had kept a tight watch over it; truly much had been put into the recording of this song.

“I originally spent two hours recording this song, but after listening to it, I was dissatisfied with some verse, so wanting to do better I redid the whole recording. I wanted to do this song right."

Steven has plans to return to the music industry next year?

“My 2010 plan does include releasing an album and having a mini concert, but I want to emphasize this, I’ve no plans of becoming a full-time singer, so will not feel pressure at all.” (keeping my fingers crossed that his plan pans out.)

I re-watched the video over the weekend and still laughed my head off, a 'bad' loyal fan that I am to so enjoy watching squirmed like a blushing schoolboy. But then I got thinking, (where anything goes to either nowhere or somewhere) on the part where Raymond commented that Steven was very forthright with his opinions. His remark can be interpreted in two ways - he could be complimenting Steven for his candor, in this case, in singing; or he could be obliquely reprimanding Steven for his unsolicited 'arrogant' critique of his singing. And thinking thus got me thinking even further onto an essay in his latest book of prose essay. post# 801

One could say that Steven has learned over the years to be tactful and smooth, if a little too diplomatic in his responses to other people, making sure not to ruffle anybody's feathers.

Steven’s birthday, specifically Oct 26th, is just around the corner, (as is Strawberry67’s) and fansites are busy readying their presents for him. Steven-ma.og shows a glimpse of its present, painstakingly prepared by its webmaster, Hu. Heeding Steven’s advice on not to ‘waste’ money (esp. their parents’ hard earn money) on gift purchases such as flower bouquets & stuff animals and such for him, Hu came up with a 2010 calendar featuring Steven, and a collation of birthday wishes from fans. And of course, Baidu fansite is right now preparing its 'matchmaking' prospectus for Steven's perusal. lol! Starting today, I'll post random thoughts and info on him until his birthday. Hope you all will take this opportunity to say something about Steven too.

Random kindness

Cha Siu Yan in her interviews with Steven addressed him as "hou hou sing sang" (a good man). His co-stars sang his praises and not just because of his delicious soups either, even the younger set of supporting artistes wrote or talked about his considerate ways. And fans were, of course, touched by his thoughtful treatments of them during their meetings.

Steven's thoughtfulness sent one such fan onto cloud nine when her gift, presented to him in early May 2008, inspired an essay in his book that was released in July 28th of the same year - a mere 3 month's lapse. ref pix: post 619 Dingdong One could say the fan was very lucky, but then again, one could also say she was lucky only because Steven gave her the luck, by going out of hisway to make her happy with that little but impactful gesture of his.

A Magic Portal (Dingdong)
When young I loved to watch cartoons, especially Dingdong. Today, Dingdong’s name has been changed to Doraemon. I remember when young, of all Dingdong’s magical objects, I loved the magic portal the most. Just imagine, say where you want to go and the door duly opens, and there you are! Now that I am all grown up, my most favorite magical object is still the magic portal.

It is simply amazing! There’s no lapse of time to consider, no boundary hassles to deal with, and no traffic jams to get caught in! The four corners of the world are all within a short distance. Actually, I too possess a magic portal; it’s my thoughts. The freedom of thoughts is unlimited. No matter where one is, all one has to do is close both eyes, and immediately one is flying freely in one’s thoughts. Whatever one wishes to see, to get or desire, they can all manifest before you! This kind of freedom not even fascism can expunged.

I love to roam inside my thoughts.

Not posturing any philosophy or artsy affectations, but in real life, things don’t always go our way, and often times are even beyond our control. Hence, to indulge ourselves of this magic portal to get what we normally cannot get in real life, why not?

Just like how Dingdong’s name change is outside my control; but to me, he is still the big head, small body, round eyes and watermelon mouth Little Dingdong. You change your last name; I keep my first name; don’t care.

In the cartoon, Dingding is a simplistic and cute cartoon figure; the cartoon has simple plots and projects uncomplex feelings! But undoubtedly, Dingdong is a philosophy. In Dingdong’s philosophy you can see real life characters, the fine line straddling righteousness and evil, and the struggles between good vs bad. Even to having the good and bad always getting their deserved endings, the cartoon explicitly illustrates that to the fullest.

Anyway, will not touch on that for right now.

In Narnia, all children are given their own magical objects. Aladdin has his magic lamp. What would my most favorite magical object be? What's yours? But then all magical objects always come with a responsibility, is it worth possessing it?

Shared Soup Recollection - A gesture of goodwill.
Soup, though the most unglamorous of food, is to me the most satisfying, the most fulfilling soul food. When early last year, Tavia gleefully divulged to the media that Steven often shared his homemade soups with her on the set, naturally speculations abound on his hidden agenda, if any; there was none. As Steven fan I knew it was just his way of watching out for his co-workers. In fact, he had been sharing his soups with co-stars since where back to 2002, specifically when filming Pitnol. This came to light in a recent Charmaine Sheh’s interview whereby she was asked to comment on all her male co-stars. baidu On Steven, she recalled a happy collaboration between them and that Steven was attentive of his health and often shared his soups with her and co-workers on the set. Linda and Fala also affirmed their sharing of Steven’s soups. Linda was especially grateful of Steven's herbal soups made especially to soothe her sore throat at the time. Regardless of whether Steven’s soups are of everyday or extraordinary fare, his sharing of them is a showing of kindness that warms the heart and eases the travails of filming a series. I know there must be more people like Steven sharing food and soups with colleagues on the set. I recall during the filming of Better Halves, Joyce Koi’s mother often brought homemade goodies to share with the cast, and Steven would pig out on them, so much so that Maggie Cheung nicknamed him Chu (pig) Chun Wai, because of his ballooning full-moon face from weight gain. I just wish that the press would report more of this heartwarming stories rather than fabricating negative publicity of who's dating whom.

I actually first heard of Steven’s soup sharing with colleagues back in Nov. 2007 when his royal stage mom to his Hamlet, Susan Tse revealed in her blog of her partaking Steven’s delicious soups during their endless and tiring rehearsals. Somehow, when I saw their pix, a feeling of ‘compassion’ akin to pity welled up inside me, the fact that they had to drink their soup out of a flask and not with family members at the dining table. Behind their happy countenances and camaraderie, I visualized the interminable stretch of long hours, of arduous and repetitive rehearsals of the same scenes, and of the tedious rote memorization of lines. The bone weariness and even the creeping ornery that one can get when cooped up in a space day and night, night and day; interminable. Susan wrote when the place was closed for the night, she and Steven would continue their rehearsal at his house late into the night until 2 or 3 am and be back at work the next morning at 8 am. And of course, Steven would be there by 7:45 am. Guess one really has to love performing arts to retain such passion one's work. So what better way to assimilate the shared passion for the arts, the shared friendship, the shared travails and the shared experience than over a shared heartwarming soup. Fond memories are often created from such sharing........of soup.

Talking abt being lucky, I think we are also lucky to have an idol who is very kind and caring. It is heart warming to see Steven doing charity work esp in an area that may bring rise to some sad memories of the past. Well, I think in a different angle, it likely brings back good memories of his beloved mum too, probably the prime mover for him to be the ambassador for this hospice program.

Conversely, I think Steven is lucky too, to have so many good and dedicated fans like those in the site and many other fan sites.

He is surely philosophical. I won't think much of a cartoon figure like Doraemon/DingDong but he is able to catch the philosophical nature of DingDong. Salute to him, our dear Steven!

On a magical object that I shall want to own.....hmm.. having one's wishes fullfilled every time they are made, like by owning Aladdin's magical lamp will surely be a nice thing to have.

I am no great cook but soup, can be quite a glamorous food in that it can be very expensive, very time consuming to cook, requires a great mix of ingredience (incl love and care) to give it just the right taste. Chinese soups like shark's fin soup, buddha-jump-over-the-wall and some herbal soups are surely among the famous and expensive ones. However, I agree that it can be the most fulfulling soul food. Imagine a person who is very exhausted, very cold and feeling all the superlatives and then coupled with a host who is most sincere and caring in his offer, soup can be a great food gastronomically and for the soul. As a matter of fact, any steaming hot liquid feels luxurious at such times.

I trust that Steven has no hidden agenda in his soup offers to his colleagues. On the other hand, there is nothing wrong in having one. He is single and if he has serious interest in Tavia or any female colleague who available, that is normal. Naturally, speculations will be aplenty but should not be a hindrance.

Deviating slightly from the topic of soup, after hearing Steven's admission of hoping to set up a family, I am really hoping that he will find a worthy partner soon. If soup can be the initiation of a lifelong relationship, why not?

Agree. It is annoying to read such news especially if we know that the content is fabricated or inaccurate or for a hidden agenda (gaining readership, politically motivated etc).

Anyway, as acknowledged by the host of an interview recording that you (Tamaya) posted recently and I believe known among the entertainment circle in HK, Steven is one of the few TVB artistes with `zero rumours', `zero negative news' and perhaps low profile. I suppose it also requires the artistes themselves to behave and be disciplined so that they don't attract such negative publicity.

Undoubtedly, soups can be both expensive and exotic in content, but imo no matter how dressed-up they maybe, they still pale in the glamor dept. compared to other food courses. Imo, pastries/cakes in the dessert course got to be the most glamorous not to mention the most romantic food. Btw, have never heard of buddha-jump-over-the-wall soup (as opposed to 'dog-forced to jump-over-the-wall' proverb). lol! What's in the soup?

Absolutely. Reminds me of an old Campbell soup tv ad: Outside the world is white with snow, looking brrr..y cold. A lone, small rotund snowman trudges slowly towards a house, opens the door and walks into a cozy kitchen. A steaming bowl of tomato soup awaits him on a counter top. And as he drinks the soup, the snow on him slowly melts away to reveal a rosy cheeks little boy, cute as a button, all bundled up in his winter clothes looking extremely surfeit and contented.

Funny you should mention that, I recall (maybe you do too) of an article whereby Steven jests that in the olden days, mothers trained daughters to cook well so that they could catch a husband, but nowadays with women so competent and successful maybe the men (in HK) should learn how to cook well to reel in these women? lol!

drool.gif Ah, this is a direct translation of the Chinese name here. Maybe it is not so international but locally, it is certainly more expensive than the shark's fin soup. Can't remember all the ingredients but will definitely see scallops, shark's fin and some times mushrooms and dates. The soup is clear (not starchy type).

True though it is not easy to control such feelings. Altho Steven has said that he prefers someone from outside the entertainment industry (see how prudent he is) but my notion is that if really such an interest arises, it should be allowed to develop (ie media, fans and TVB should accord the couple some privacy and allow the relationship to take its natural course). Again, easier said than done in this arena.

You hit it right on the nail. Steven's Kangxi possess a delicate prettiness. Even long most of his 'older' fans are still head over heels in love with his Kangxi. And as the series progresses, you will see the growth in Kangxi's character, from a young king on slippery ground maturing into a crafty, even ruthless king. That carefree grin is no more.

More pixs and news on Temptation on its Macao filming. Steven rescues Fala on a flying motorbike and later on a bicycle, for that, he gets a kiss from the damsel in distress for his shining knight rescue. Steven said to Fala: "If crash, I would rather my foot caught under the wheel then have you hurt." That Steven, sure knows how to sweet talk a girl.

Steven Ma is willing to have motor scooter fall on him than Fala Chen
Wednesday October 14, 2009 Hong Kong
Source: Oriental Daily
Translated by: aZnangel @ http://asianuniverse.net/forums/

In TVB's new series "Transferred Connection of Temptation", Fala Chen and Steven Ma play a couple for the first time and even had a cheek kiss scene. But Steven smiled that he is not embarrassed: "We are just too familiar with each other, no embarrassment!" Although the kiss scene did challenge them, but in the series the two had a scene where they were being chase and escaping in a motor scooter, which is quite dangerous.

But Steven was such a gentlemen as he smiled and said that he'll take care of Fala: "I told Fala that if we get into an accident, I would rather let the scooter hit me instead and not let Fala get hurt!"
tamaya
Thanks for the above news, foreverleila.
Steven also says since Fala was willing to trust him (not to crash the bike), he would of course protect her. Both said although the work was tiring, they both had fun working together and that they enjoyed the delicious food in Macao.

Other news reports wrote: Today's scene is about Steven and Fala escaping on a bicycle. Steven said: Fala puts her trust in me, so I will of course protect her and not let her get hurt. I told her that if the bike crashed, I would rather the bike fell on me than have her hurt. I told her not to worry about sitting at the back of the bicycle. She is willing to trust me, I will of course protect her. "

here's the news

Tis’ too outrageous! 太過份了!
2009-10-15 02:30

Tis’ too outrageous! (Tai guo fan la !)
You want to die? That’s your own problem, why? Why involve the children?
You’re distressed? Things not going your way?
I say this superciliously, what’s that got to do with them?
I can’t take this!
Life came from you, but that doesn’t mean you have the right to end it!
Tis’ too outrageous!
Only how old?
Simply outrageous!
So mad!
That mom, you… really shouldn’t have done it!
Everybody, please don’t do it, ok?
Everything can always be resolved, somehow,
But, please don’t hurt yourself, even more so, don’t hurt people close to you! Please?

Try opening it through its link on Baidu steven. steven's warm house is an excellent source of Steven's old news, screencaps and candid pix.

Thanks, Tamaya. Unfortunately, not much luck! I rarely can get into "Steven's warm house" successfully. Stevama.org site is slightly better but 8 out 10 times not successful too. So, do appreciate seeing posts here by you.

I have seen the DOMD screen caps in baidu (thanks) but that was before watching the series. Have a better understanding of the scenes now after having watched part of the series.

Tamaya, Steven's blog was not explicit abt which incident it was refering to. Someone posted in Steven's blog of a case of a woman stabbing her 4 months old child 51 times.....The news you appended is another case. Either one, atrocious acts these were. Surely, he was outraged and so would anyone who read such news.

He was writing very late at night. Probably is the only period he is free and has time of his own (me too.....).

I'm 100% sure he's talking about the HK mother killing her 2 kids. The news was all over HK media. The other mother stabbing child news happened in Taiwan, far away from him, unless he got on line he probably wouldn't hear about it (HK media probably will not report it when it has its own crazy mom drama to deal with) just like how his Taiwan fan who posted that link didn't hear about the HK mom. One struck close to home and headlined all HK media news, the other farther away in Taiwan, which one do you think got Steven so incensed?

Anyway, regardless, Steven always gets all worked up when innocent children and the elderly get hurt like how in his early blog entries he deplored the exploitation of young kids and the mistreatment of an old lady by a youth. Steven had once thought of becoming a social worker that is besides wanting to a singer, or a graphic artiste or an actor. hehee! Will take time to translate those earlier blog entries of his.

A fan posted these links on the HK mom news

Tamaya, thanks for the update. Steven was not explicit about the news that he was refering to. The news link you appended is different from the case posted in Steven's Yahoo blog on a mother who stabbed her 4 years old child 51 times. Either case, atrocious and inhuman these acts were. No wonder Steven was outraged and so would anyone who read it.

One reader mentioned that the mother (murderer that is) should be sympathized. Perhaps so but I find it very difficult to do so. Insane she might be at that moment but this cold blooded butchering of another person, in this case one's own flesh and blood, an innocent young life, is too outrageous, too sinful....to even think about. twisted.gif

Good observation! You are most likely right.

I am stilling learning the difference betw `add reply', `reply' ....took me an hour to figure out (slow me). I meant to add reply to your new post on Steven's yahoo blog but it kept on adding to this one which I wrote an hour earlier..huh.

Anyway, edited and managed to put it in a new post on this topic (but could not add reply to your post). Still trying to figure out how to add reply to two or more posts on the same day. Sorry for messing up the thread. Too confused! sad.gif

Topic: I’m truly upset! 我真的很難過!
Date: 2006-07-28 16:59

Saw the recent news about the 13-year-old girl who died of drug overdose. I was truly upset!

Only 13 years old, of all the things to fool around, fool with drugs?

I really want to condemn those drug pusher scumbags! Those young people, still in their teens, still unworldly, their child-like aura still clinging to them, were so unlucky to have met these bad people. And so, the worst tragedy happens… their short lives are cut short!

If asked, was that girl at fault? My answer is: Yes!
Her fault was to trust people indiscriminately. To satisfy her curiosity and looking for a rush, she sacrificed her precious life!

But her fault pales against those greedy and ruthless evil demons that will do anything for money, and treat lives like dirt! These so-called humans exploit young people’s ignorance and innocence for evil profits, and regard laws and order and lives as nothing! In their eye, other people’s lives are worth nothing!

I am truly angry! Our police, our government, shouldn’t they wake up to the situation??

With all due respect, no matter how chaotic the society is, let us adults carry the burden! Right or wrong? Let us take the consequences! But please, do not ambush the young ones! No justification or cause can rebut this plea!

Anyway, exploiting innocent and ignorant hearts for criminal act is intolerable!
Herein, I would like to send my condolence and best wishes to that girl’s parents. And to wish that little girl RIP and to live her next life well.

I can’t sleep!
Perhaps it is due to today’s society’s degeneration!
Perhaps it is due to today’s society’s depravity!
Whatever it is, what pained me is society’s so called permissiveness
Also abhor society’s so-called understanding!
Humans, from the very beginning should take responsibility for their own actions!
How come? Some people can get off the right path yet still be so blithe and carefree?
How come? Some people though law-abiding, yet still be heart sick? (heart pierced by 1000 arrows)
Perhaps, this is life!
But, besides sighing, why not learn from Teacher Tang?
Ask heaven ask earth ask life
Why not first ask one self what one has or not has done, only then ask why?

Steven's social conscience is certainly displayed in these blogs. Thank goodness for Steven's many fansites, else I, too, won't be able to keep abreast of his news.

Starting next Monday, Steven will host a weekly documentary program entitled "Since 1967" at 7pm- ? Also don't know for how it will run. The program recounts the 40 years of extraordinary events that happened since 1967 thru 2007. Steven will be the host, the narrator and the voice over for the personalities.

E-buzz, Steven elaborates on that weekly program.

Like you, this problem had frustrated me too before I found out that to prevent spamming all replies posted consecutively by the same person within 30 minutes or less, if not separated by other people’s post(s), will automatically appear as a single post. In other words, a 30 minutes lapse must ensue before the poster’s replies will appear in separate posts.

Darn it! I was so hoping I could edit my statement about tvb being asinine (stupid) before it got quoted, thus showing up my blunder. I found out belatedly that there is a reason for TVB setting up the message board. Guess I was the asinine one for speaking out of turn. My bad.

Response board is posters' responses to each blog entry. Message board is a separate entity all by itself, unattached to any blog entry. I’m not sure if the amount of postings is included in computing the blog ranking or not.

The story behind the newly created message board. One brave soul finally took 小玄烨318’s spamming Yahoo and TVB blogs to task. Steven fans (unbeknownst to us fans who don’t frequent steven tvbblog) took sides, and groups were formed. One said spamming is necessary to raise Steven’s blog ranking; the other opposed, saying spamming will not only chase away fans but is totally unnecessary, like how some of the most popular tvb artistes don’t even have blogs but their series still have high ratings. Moreover, Steven would be put off by all these spamming. And so back and forth they argued. Guess some enterprising Steven fan(s) finally decided to tattle tale to Stephan Chan asking for a solution to this ranking of TVBblog thru the amount of hits. And presto! A message board was promptly created for fans to ‘talk directly’ to the artiste. If Steven wishes to read fans msg he can go directly to the msg board without having to go through each and every blog entry.

That's what I gathered anyway.

I am all for NO spamming. It really is very irritating. On the other hand, can this msg board solve the problem? The person can still go into this msg board and spam. Or the idea is that he/she may not spam there if the entries do not affect the ranking. Perhaps, a better solution is stopping this ranking exercise of the tvb artistes' blog sites.

On hind sight, I think the intention (of the spamming) is good but the method is certainly not the best. I feel sorry for the person but would rather she stops it. I am sure Steven is not going to be happy even if his ranking is high because of such spamming activities.

Steven's line up position was excellent. Right behind Liza Wang, flanked by Michael Mui and Ray Lui. But Steven did not have much screen time in the lighting anniversary.

The tacit understanding among fans is this: Please keep all spamming to the response board, but the message board is off limit. So now there is a place for spamming and there is a place for leaving meaningful messages. Fans spam only to raise the blog ranking, not because they like to spam. As a separate entity, the message board's direct access will now make it easier for Steven to browse the msg board without having to slough through pages of spams or having to click on each and every one of the blog entries to read fans' responses. The feud over "no spamming to raise blog ranking" vs "intensive spamming to raise ranking at all cost" has now been resolved. Of course, Steven fans had hoped that Stephan Chan would just do away with this ranking exercise but that didn't happen. At least now Mr. Chan is aware of this ranking issue causing rancor among fans. I've no idea what that Steven fan wrote to him.

Steven's tvbblog has been updated - a vid on TVB's 42nd Lighting Ceremony.

tvbblog

Gist: Steven talks about the anniversary. He will not be involved in any of the ceremony activities. He has but one series aired this year, namely Sits. Considering how strong his competitors are, he has no expectations; just gonna take it easy and enjoy the whole anniversary function.

As to whom he supports for best actor and actress, he strongly supports Chai Gao, Wayne Lai. He jests: Ah Cheong, you must win the award, else don't come see me. Haha! Female best actress? Actually I really like Sheren Tang, but I also like Ah Yi (Tavia) a lot. Though haven't watched Beyond yet, but its previews were very good. So standing on friendship side, I support Tavia. So if this year Ah Yi plus Ah Cheong both won, I'd be so happy, more so than myself winning. Truly, I hope they'll win.......... He says he will film a lot of period/ancient series next year.

I remember seeing how very happy Steven was for Maggie Cheung when she won her best actress award. His joy for his friend was heartwarming to behold, esp. IIrc she was being ostracized at TVB. When is Steven himself going to win his?

I hope when the time comes to vote, Steven will vote for the most deserving performance not for friendship.

A long time Steven fan, 端着茶跑, who is the ex-Steven baidu webmistress, got her WTLB essay published in the very popular China tv series magazine. 《电视剧》I've always appreciated her beautiful and thoughtful writing, so much so that in the past I actually took time to translate some of her writings and thoughts to share with Steven fans here. Big, big news flash!! All Steven fans look this way!

Steven made up with ex-gf, Vivian!!

Steven met with ex-gf, Vivian while filming Temptation in Macao. Pix surreptitiously taken by the omnipresent press. Steven openly picked up Vivian at the harbor to Venice Hotel in the company van. Catherine Tsang, another passenger in the van, was seen getting off the van with Vivian, chatting amiably on the way to the hotel lobby. Steven strode hurriedly from the van into the hotel to avoid pix taken with Vivian, but of course to no avail. During her stay, Steven seemed to be in a very happy mood.

Pix first, translation to come.

Wedding bells in the horizon??
Good luck to Steven. Don't let happiness slip through the 2nd time! Marry her if she is indeed the love of your life! Whatever he decides, I'm 100% behind him.

Hi hi ... been too long since I've been able to read each post properly! Tamaya, thanks for all the news. This latest news about Steven and Vivian getting back together is pretty wow! But I had guessed that it was probably what he was trying to prepare his fans for, what with all that talk about wanting to get married and have kids. Good for him! I'm glad he's finally decided to win her back.

I wonder why he tried to walk away quickly to prevent his picture being taken (with Vivian, that is). Is it because their public lives are so strictly managed that they are not allowed to be seen with someone who could be a girlfriend? Maybe he hasn't had time to report to the higher-ups in TVB about his reunion with Vivian, and has to still keep it a secret! Haha. smile.gif

Regarding news about awards. I'm sorry to hear that there's no chance of him winning anything, even for his performance in SITS, which I really think he deserves an award for! But it was obvious that at that point, his position at TVB was quite unstable and perhaps the management was already putting him in cold storage. Glad that he finally renewed his contract and that he'll be appearing in more ancient series next year. Really looking forward to seeing him in action again. As it is, A Watchdog's Tale wrapped up ages ago and still no news of when it will be aired. *Grumble grumble grumble!*

'Dog' will most likely air next year, if not released overseas.

I think Steven was just being discreet so that his private life would not become fodder to feed the hungry press. In the past, HK paparazzi had stealthily snapped pix of him at take-outs eatery, at a doctor's office, and even at a gas station among others. This reporter, probably just hoping for some candid pix of Steven dining with colleagues and Zhan Jie to boot, truly luck out when Steven picked up Vivian at the harbor. Also the readers only have this reporter's words that Steven has reconciled with ex-gf. Don't know about other higher-ups, but since Zhan Jie, among others, was in the van when Steven picked up Vivian, she should be well aware of this alleged reconciliation. But according to a HK fan, this newspaper's credibility is questionable as it is free, and easily available on the streets, moreover, no other tabloids or newspapers have reported on this at all.

Excerpt of the news report:
That night Ma Zai and his senior colleagues went to 黑沙环 restaurant for dinner. He seemed to be in a high spirit throughout the whole time, yakking away like a bird just been newly released from its cage. Besides talking up a storm with Zhan Jie, he was also extremely talkative with the restaurant owner, too. After dinner, around 10 pm, he and his dinning partners got into in a 7-seater van which he then drove to a “gwai lin gou” place for desserts. When they left the place later, while holding on to his take-out, he courteously assisted Helen Ma and the others into the van, and then drove straight to the harbor. As soon as he arrived, he immediately got off the van and helped Vivian, who had waited for him at the spot, into the van. When they arrived at Venice Hotel, Ma Zai, who got off the van first, deliberately ignored Vivian. But the latter and Zhang Jie chatted amiably. To avoid the exposure if he were to accompany his girlfriend to her room through the casino, Ma Zai told his female assistant and girlfriend to take another route to the room. He thought that would be a surefire circumvention, but sorry to say, his old flame reconciliation was still been exposed.
