This is he first time I heard about the gossip about these things regarding Jacky Chan, Twins and Joey Yung. I only know about the actress who had a daughter with Jacky Chan, but other gossips were not widely published in english newspapers and I can't read chinese, therefore must've missed out on those. As for Twins and Joey Yung (I don't know who is Yumiko, any pictures here?), if it's true, I really pity them having to 'entertain' an old geezer like Albert Yeung - just looking at him makes your skin crawl. No one knows for certain the truth in rumours/gossips but if it's not true and it's widely circulated, it would affect the stars very much (perfect example is the Davinci Code - the book is fiction and yet most people are taking it to be the real thing because of how convincing the storyline is!).
Of course, it cannot be denied that some stars may have done something morally wrong (be it sleeping with someone with 'power' or posing naked, etc..) before they achieve stardom - they may consider it a price they have to pay to get what they want. If things go their way, they only have to sacrifice that time, if they're lucky (or have talents), then their luck or talents will lead them higher from then on. They only needed the 'one chance'. Look at Shu Qi before she got famous. She had to pose nude and do nude/rape scenes. But look at how famous she is now. On the other hand, the poor Loretta Lee who got famous in Happy Ghost and thought she could remain famous by posing naked and doing nude scenes ended up as a soft-porn actress.
No one really knows the truth or tells the truth nowadays. They're just our idols, they're humans, they make mistakes like us too. Don't put them on a pedestal and think they're god who could do no wrong. If you like them and admire their talents, just continue supporting them.

that's the sad truth about the entertainment industry.. sure not EVERYONE got into the business this way, but its safe to say a majority of the stars we see on television and movies are there because they slept with the right people. thats showbiz!

well, they are from EEG. They normally have all the newcomers that needs more pracrice in singing. That's proabably why they have to listen to everything their bosses tell them or else they're out!
Even though Twins have been around for a long time, they're contract was for six years! Now it's coming to an end so, if they dont another contract then I'm sure you'll be happy then! But, they have improved so much since they started. They can sing better live now! Maybe ocassionally they're out of pitch but so do some other artists.

I remember these rumours. Prior to signing with EEG, Joey was with some company I remember and they dropped her or something. So her career wasn't really going anywhere then all of a sudden she signed onto EEG. At that time Grace Yip and Lilian Ho (also another singer who was rumoured to have been one of his girls at the time) were with EEG but Joey began to really surpass them. Joey is indeed more talented and known for her singing skills but that wasn't the case years ago when she was struggling to make it as a singer. I remember hearing about Twins sleeping with Albert and Jackie Chan. Jackie Chan should have a thread of his own if he doesn't already. Yumiko Cheng was also with a girl band in 3T whom really could not sing. Then all of a sudden Yumiko was singled out and went solo, which I found was a bit strange. But who knows...

Entertainment industries, especially Hong Kong's is quite cutthroat with new competition everyday. To sustain their popularity is not an easy task. So it shouldn't come as such a big surprise.
