Do Tailor-made roles STILL suit William?
He is spiffy suits are as famous as he is. So much so Singaporean model-turn-actor Leon Williams was once asked by fans wheher he sleeps in a suit

After all, the Taiwan-based heart-throb is rarely seen in anything else. When he once donned bermudas for a change; some of his co-workers stared at his lower body and teased: "Leon William, you do have legs!"
It has been more than 1 year since Leon, 29 achieved fame as a suit-clad fashion designer in the top-rated drama Heaven's Robe, but he has never quite stepped out of his characet. Now, reprises the jacketed image in his newly-launched drama, Green Green Forest, My Home.
His new role mirrors his life. Leon is a mixed parentage (German, Welsh, Japanese and Peranakan)

His Price Charming character, William Spencer, has German, English, Chinese and American blood and speaks mostly in English. One girl in the drama calls him"Prince William"

--- the nickname the Taiwanese media has given him. Some would say Leon is lucky to score another tailor-made role, but detractos are complaining of typecasting.
During a visit to a university campus in Taiwan to plug his new drama, he was asked by a curious fan if he would take on roles other than royalty. Before he could respond, someone in the crowd blurted out: "Tell him to play a tian qiao zai" Tian qiao zai is smiliar to the local Ah Beng. Leon gamely agreed --- prompting laughter. When someone finally explained the term, his face turn tomato red, but he said with a smile: "Actually i can do comdey very well too!" Maybe it's time for a change for his princey image has failed to work its magic this time.
The first few episodes of Green Green Forest, My Home drew only 2.4 per cent viewershio.

The previous drama in the same time slot, The Prince Who Turn Into A Frog, had 7 per cent. Its producers Wang Li-ming told the Great Daily News that it will take time for fans to warm up to the drama. But some online detractos have pointed their fingers at Leon's acting and how his English-speaking character has alienated Taiwan's Manadarin-speaking majority. Leon stressed that he will work harder on his Mandarin to live up to audiences' expectations.
Meanwhile, he has a bigger problem on hand --- to prove his fashion sense after drawing flak for attending Taiwan's Golden Melody Awards in May in a copper shirt with pleated trimmings and high -waist black pants.
For Taiwan's TV and radio's Golden Bell Awards tomorrow, Leow reportedly stared shopping for clothes as early as last week. One wonders, will it be a suit again?
